Steak Frites* , subbed fried for the mash.

Awesome experience ! Ray our server was kind and made great recommendations. The ambiance was nice. They were super busy but still attended to our table in a timely ,courteous manner. Our meals were delicious, we had skillet cornbread the fiesta eggrolls , the steak frites , which was cooked to perfection , and the ribs, sweet & tangy. Oh and the bread pudding for dessert. So good!

The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The food was superb. The waitress, Nancy, was friendly, available and just all around great. The key lime pie is addictive. Be forewarned. The salmon is delicious. The spinach is perfectly prepared

My date & I had a good time at Copper Canyon! Nothing bad to say. Our bartender Ashley was informative, giving suggestions of some of her favorite dishes; speaking with us in friendly manners - even shared with us that she too, is a Cowboys fan! The food and drinks were also delicious. Their calamari is so so good - some of the best I've had lately. Their salads are good as well. I ordered the rotisserie chicken salad and was pleased. Additionally, the chicken parmesan was delicious too - and the sides were perfect. Al pictured. Sitting at the bar was also perfect, with a great view of local games or just TVs in general for our entertainment. I would love to return for another day!

Let's talk about Copper Canyon...I started off with the Flowering Peach and LET ME JUST SAY... the drink is absolutely gorgeous! Like, picture-worthy gorgeous. It tasted good too -- smooth, sweet, but STRONG!! REAL STRONG!!! The type of strong when you know you better stop at one...LOL. Then came the spinach dip with the salsa and sour cream, and listen, it was EVERYTHING. Creamy, flavorful, and just downright addictive. Thinking about now makes me want more. I'm NOT SHARING next time. We split the club salad, and it was... okay. It wasn't bad, but needed a bit more personality. For the entree, I ordered crab cakes with fries and coleslaw -- the sides were solid, but those crab cakes? Very fishy. Overall, the vibes are always right, the service always on point, and Copper Canyon will remain one of my favorites.

Never lets me down! Been here a few times and I can comfortably say I won't hesitate to come back. All the staff is wonderful, ambiance is great, and the food is appetizing. I've had the salmon, crab cakes, chicken tenders and steak frites before. None have disappointed but on this particular visit I had gotten my usual, steak frites. That had to have been one of the best meals I've had here. I lean towards fattier steaks and this piece had the perfect amount of fat. Not too much and not too little. The meat itself was tender and packed with flavor in every bite. I was almost t'd off that it was almost gone off the plate. Something about copper canyon they just do it right each time somehow.

This was our first time at Copper Canyon Grill and the food was great. I ordered the Stanford Burger and my wife ordered the salmon with spinach and mashed potatoes. The service was quite slow, but the burger and fries tasted great. My wife enjoyed the salmon and mashed potatoes, but said the spinach could use some work. Overall, I'd recommend this for a standard date night, but not for something more fancy.

This was my first time visiting this location, and I was really impressed by how beautiful the restaurant is. My friend and I started with the cornbread, which had a slight kick and was absolutely delicious. I actually had to stop myself from eating too much just to save room for the main meal. For my entree, I went with the chicken pot pie. It had been years since I last had one, and I was in the mood for something different. I'm so glad I chose it. The pot pie was flavorful and huge! I couldn't finish it in one sitting, but the leftovers were just as tasty the next day.

Saturday, 9/13/25 ... we turned a darn lunch to a day party. I'm just a tad bit embarrassed about this. Our party of 4 were bar flys for wayyy too long but, in our defense, we had the best service (shout out to Kayla, Benjamin and Sean/Shawn?), and we had absolutely NO complaints about the drinks or food. Check out the pics of the catfish, spinach/artichoke dip, club salad, prime rib w/ mashed potatoes, carrot cake, key lime pie ... don't judge us ... we needed something to soak up the numerous Crown Apple/pineapple, Stella's, Espresso and Pomegranate Martinis that kept miraculously showing up. We're no stranger to Cooper Canyon but today was worthy of a Yelp update. #NeighborhoodEats

    Short Smoked Atlantic Salmon*
    Teresa G.

My friend and I came here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy but we were seated shortly after we checked in with the host. There was ample parking around the restaurant. Our server Amari was friendly and helpful. My friend ordered the Barbeque Pork Ribs and to our pleasant surprise it was this full slab of flavorful slow cooked, crisp on the outside and fall-off-the-bone tender, served with shoestring french fries, coleslaw and barbecue sauce. I of course had to partake of this delicious dish. The entree I got was equally delicious. The Short Smoked Atlantic Salmon was this generous portion of flavorful smoked and grilled salmon topped with mustard sauce. It came with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. We enjoyed every bite! Their menu looks like there is a great variety of dishes. Although the restaurant was busy, our booth allowed us some comfortable privacy conducive to a friendly catch-up.

Our server Gabriel was awesome! Came here today to celebrate my mother-in-loves' birthday. Didn't have a resy however it was recommended by the host with future visits. We were seated promptly and everything was good. From our apps to after dinner coffee. Absolutely no complaints. My rattlesnake pasta no peppers/chicken, added shrimp was good! The hubs opted to for steak frites with sweet potato fries and salad and the lady of the hour just wanted a salad. She really enjoyed the cornbread. Will definitely be adding Cooper Canyon to our date night rotation. Happy Yelping!

Here are the pictures of my bill, the steak they said was a Prime Rib, and a stock photo of a real Prime Rib.

Please see my previous review because my pictures didn't post. Here's a quick summary: I told the bartender every time I order the prime rib they under cook it...he said he'll make sure they'll cook it right (medium).... Shit was undercooked so I told them put it back on the grill Both my neighbors finished their burgers before they came back out...they came back out with a ribeye steak I was like this is not a prime rib The bartender took it back and then the manager came out and asked what is the problem I said this is not a prime rib she said the cook said it was and I was like you know what a steak looks like I'm paying for a prime rib I want a prime rib She said ok we'll cook a new prime rib for you I said thank you Then she brought out another ribeye steak!

Today I went to Copper Canyon in Woodmore Town Center with friends. I haven't had the Prime Rib in a while so I decided to have that for lunch. I told the bartender every time I order the Prime Rib they under cook it...the bartender said he'll make sure they'll cook it right (medium).... The Prime Rib was undercooked so I asked the bartender to ask the cook to put it back on the grill. Both my neighbors ordered (food came out with my initial undercooked Prime Rib) and finished their burgers before they came back out with my order a "Prime Rib"...a server came back out with a ribeye steak and I immediately said this isn't the Prime Rib, it's a steak. The bartender took it back and then the manager came out and asked what is the problem, I said this is not a Prime Rib she said the cook said it was a Prime Rib and I was like you should know what a steak looks like and I'm paying for a Prime Rib, I want a Prime Rib. She said ok we'll cook a new Prime Rib for you I said thank you. Then she brought out another steak! I am never going there again. To me it's complete lack of respect to bring me a steak two time when ordering and paying for a Prime Rib because I asked to cook it to order. Pictures here to show what I received and what a stock photo of what a Prime Rib should look like.

    Side of Spinach
    Melissa J.

My job took us to Copper Canyon to celebrate Principal's Appreciation Month after work. We were a party of 12 or so. As a group, we had a couple of appetizers (Spinach and Artichoke Dip, and Chips and Salsa). That was the first spinach and artichoke dip I have ever had that had nice chunks of vegetables in it. I could literally taste/distinguish the artichoke which I loved. I had the fried fish and substituted sweet potato fries. It was pretty good. I had also ordered a side of spinach (but they weren't very flavorful).

At first, you'll see what looks like just a pizza shop -- but if you head in and either use the side door or walk through and climb a set of stairs, you'll find the speakeasy upstairs. Very cool vibe: dark, cozy, and date-night ready. Drinks: 4/5 I ordered their take on an Old Fashioned, and it was definitely the highlight of the night but sweeter than I would have liked. They served it over a stamped solid block of ice (a small detail I ). My friend was abstaining from alcohol that night and asked for a non-alcoholic cocktail. To our surprise, they didn't just hand her a lemonade like most places -- they actually made her a crafted virgin drink, which she loved. Food: 3/5 We ordered fries and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The fries turned out to be waffle fries (not mentioned on the menu) and were overly crispy, so not really our favorite. The pizza was fine -- clearly sourced from the shop downstairs -- but it leaned oily and didn't really wow us. Service: 5/5 Pretty standard -- nothing over the top, but not neglectful either. Drinks came out reasonably fast, food followed, and we were checked on enough without it feeling pushy. Vibes: 4/5 The speakeasy itself is definitely the selling point. Dark, intimate, and stylish -- you feel like you've found a little hidden spot. All in all, the cocktails are the reason to come, especially if you're into whiskey. The food was forgettable, but it's convenient that you can order pizza upstairs. We spent about $30-40 for drinks and snacks, which isn't shocking for Old Town. Would I go back? Maybe if I was already in the area, but for a dedicated whiskey night, I'd probably head somewhere else.

We made a last-minute decision to try for some of the nightly jazz (except Monday) at 18th & 21st on a Friday evening (Oct 2025), hip-ly named for the prohibition amendment and repeal :-) There's a free parking garage right across from the entrance of the building they share with a sister restaurant, Cured. We arrived in the bright seasonally-decorated welcoming lobby about 7:50pm. We ought to have made reservations, but in under 10min, the reception staff took us to the more intimate room towards the back where we were seated at at the bar, which is really what we wanted. When we arrived, the 6pm jazz band had just gone on break, so we felt free to chat with friendly regulars and with the bar staff. They have a changing list of ten craft beers from $6 to $21, plus one $6 non-alcoholic brew. Five of the $14-$35 per-glass vintage wines from their list of 17 are preserved with the "corovin" system that keeps air out, so they are never "corked". We focussed on their list of 11 crafted $13-$22 cocktails plus 5 non-alcoholic ones, all made with quality ingredients, each naming the staff member(s) (and guests) who formulated the recipe! We found Alex's $16 Fernetinez sublimely sweet: of bitter fernet amaro, Frederick-based locally-sourced award-winning McClintock One Last Time gin (exclusive for 18th&21st), smooth Luxardo liqueur, and a sweet vermouth. We loved the aroma and flavor of the classic Smoked Old Fashioned of bourbon from Kentucky's 10th-oldest distillery, Green River, moved to a mild well-rounded sweetness by brown sugar simple syrup, smoked in front of me by Mike (if i remember), with added richness from smoky bitters. They have a creative menu of $30 to $65 entrees, plus salads, small plates, apps, and sides, and they have a changing menu of small plates. We really hadn't planned on eating, but we couldn't resist. The $17 duck bao buns had thin tender filets with a sweet lightly-salty apricot-soy glaze and a tangy crunchy pickled cucumber slaw on a soft folded yeasted slightly-sweet white-flour bun. The $12 pair of fried fresh-tasting oysters were sweet and juicy with a light-flavored crunchy crust. They were so yummy, and easy to enjoy with our cocktails. Rodney Kelly's jazz band was excellent, playing with spirit, joking with each other and the audience, even staging a song or two with a skilled member of the restaurant staff. Afterwards we had brief moments with some of the band members, like an intimate jazz club. Later in the evening, i also had a Turkish Sunset, a Manhattan-variation created in a collaboration among the staff and a guest (Well-done Ozzie!). I love Elijah Craig, and wanted to try their dry toasted rye, with housemade allspice dram syrup, Small Hands grenadine, and bitters. By now, i felt very much at home with the staff, and when i learned that one of them had helped formulate this beverage, i confided that its amazing complexity was, for me, just a touch too dry. Alex (if i remember) considered the ingredients and the target flavors, and added just a touch of a sweet lemony liqueur, perfectly complimenting the recipe's flavors! Real-time crafting goes above and beyond, Thank you! (And when they next update the menu, maybe they'll have a custom option named for me :-)

We came during happy hour from 4-7 PM, which only applies to alcoholic beverages. The cocktails were excellent and definitely worth ordering. Service was a bit inconsistent, as our first visit had better timing and attentiveness, but both servers were pleasant. Each table was also given a dish of corn nuts to snack on while waiting for food. *Pinazo: the lightest cocktail I tried. The pineapple flavor came through clearly even though the puree was not visible. It was very fragrant, though I could not detect the amarena cherry. The fruit largely masked the vodka. *Lychee Pisco: the lychee puree itself was mild, with most of the flavor coming from the fruit garnish. The elderflower and hibiscus notes were more prominent. As someone who enjoys floral profiles, I liked this, though others may find it more perfumed than expected. *Guapo's Pisco: the passionfruit was again on the milder side, while the ginger beer stood out more. Served in a metal mug, it drank like a sweeter Moscow Mule. *Passion Pisco Sour: the pisco sours had more distinct and vibrant flavors overall, and I would highly recommend them if you enjoy fruit forward drinks with an egg white finish. There is also a flight option, which I would have ordered if not for happy hour. This one was my favorite, with a well balanced mix of tartness and sweetness. *Chicha Sour: more tart than the passion version, with a warmer, spiced undertone. The cinnamon added a subtle smokiness, though it still leaned sweeter than expected. *Ceviche Sampler: includes tradicional, cremoso, and callejero. A great way to try a range of flavors, and everyone in my group had a different favorite. I would recommend asking for crispy plantains, as they were not automatically included and help carry the seafood. The tradicional leaned heavily on acidity, allowing the fish to shine, though it felt a bit one note. The sweet potato helped balance it. The callejero was my favorite, with a noticeable kick in the leche de tigre. The cancha and choclo added nuttiness, earthiness, and crunch. The cremoso sat in between, with more body and a slightly sweeter, richer profile thanks to the sweet potato. My only complaint was that the fish pieces were cut quite large, so we had to break them down further. *Causa Sampler: another trio featuring crocante, tartare, and pollo. These were heavier despite the smaller portions. The whipped potato base was well seasoned and had more structure than typical mashed potatoes. The crocante featured a large fried shrimp with rocoto aioli, though I would have preferred the sauce on the side. The flavor leaned like a standard spicy mayo. The tuna tartare had a Japanese influence, but the aioli was overly sweet, making the dish feel cloying. A thicker layer of avocado could have helped balance it. The wonton crisp was also missing both times I ordered it. The chicken version was the most mild and rustic, and needed more acidity or spice to bring it together. Despite this, the trio had potential with some adjustments. *Plancha Pulpo: a must order. This featured a large grilled octopus leg served with causa and choclo on a sizzling plate. The octopus had a smoky char and garlicky chimichurri, with a perfect balance of tenderness and chew. It rivaled a well cooked steak and was easily the standout dish. *Lomo Saltado: medium rare tenderloin stir fried with onions and peppers. The savory sweet sauce coated the fries, rice, and meat beautifully. The flavor leaned slightly Asian, and the beef was juicy and tender. The vegetables were soft and naturally sweet. *Pionono: fried sponge cake filled with Nutella and dulce de leche. It was quite sweet, but the coffee chip ice cream added a deep, rich contrast. The ice cream alone was standout quality. This dessert is easily shareable among four. *Flan: a classic base topped with grilled pineapple and quinoa tuille. The flan itself was smooth and creamy, though the pineapple's acidity distracted from it. It would have benefited from more caramelization. The quinoa tuille added texture more than flavor. *Suspiro: a polarizing dessert, but one I personally enjoyed. The manjar blanco was extremely rich and sweet, paired with an equally sugary meringue. I would have liked more texture or a torched finish for contrast. The passionfruit glaze was my favorite element, though it was used sparingly and could have helped balance the dish more if incorporated throughout. Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar deserves its praise. The portions are generous, and the flavors are thoughtfully composed. While there are small tweaks I would make, the overall execution stands out and feels a step above many other options in DC.

This place is extremely overpriced and the service is some of the worst I've experienced. They automatically charge a very high gratuity, which is ridiculous considering how poor the service actually is. We waited almost TWO HOURS for our food and hookah to come out. Two hours at a lounge that charges premium prices is completely unacceptable. During the entire night, the smoke detector kept going off, and you could clearly hear it over the music. It completely ruined the atmosphere and made the place feel poorly managed. To make things even worse, the place looked unprofessional and poorly maintained. We even noticed bags of salt being used to hold up chairs, which says a lot about the condition of the place. CK Lounge charges luxury prices but delivers bottom tier service and a chaotic experience. Between the long waits, loud smoke detector, forced gratuity, and unprofessional setup, this place is simply not worth it. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else.

It's a sexy basement vinyl den with additional outdoor seating, 10/10 unique cocktails, and incredible Japanese inspired small plates. Between two visits, we have tried 6 different drinks. They are named after songs and listed on the back of a fake vinyl cover. Each costs around $20, but with the mandatory tip and tax, it comes to around $26-28 per drink. The since I left you, though, is worth every penny. It is similar to an old fashioned but a little sweeter, with bourbon (makers mark), and while the menu says it also has miso, blackberry, cardamom, and cacao, I wouldn't say those flavors come through. But it is one of the best cocktails being served in DC right now. It is so good. They serve it with a cardamom tuile that is delicious as well. There is a lot of variety on here, but my number 2 is the Roses, a bright red gin based drink with a hint of fruitiness and a spicy kick in the back end. If you want something a little sweeter, the Takeover is a cognac based drink with coffee notes served with a mini donut. The food is exceptionally well seasoned and so flavorful. The fried chicken cannot be missed, and I love that you can get it in half or full size portions. The shrimp tempura might be even better. You get four large pieces that are super crisp and have a little orange sauce on them. Amazing. Our second visit we tried their chips and dip, and these potato chips alone are worth a visit. Large, crunchy, and served with a tasty ranch dip. I think 2 dishes is good for two people to fill you up, but add a third if hungry. The place is quite expensive, but they are worth it. For a date night, they are a great choice. Four drinks and three dishes shared between two people came to around $195, but as of this review, they are offering a $30 off deal if you pay through the app In Kind. Bonus points because the first time we came, they seated us maybe 5 minutes after our reservation time, and they gave us a free glass of cava. Top notch customer service right there

This bar is sweet -- awesome music, a neat menu, truly craft cocktails, and a unique menu. We tried several cocktails and each was delicious - from spicy to sweet, they don't miss. We also tried the cheese burger egg rolls and the tuna hand roll. The food is expensive for what you get but it's advertised to be small bites, not a meal. The egg rolls felt like remixed in n out, and as a Californian, I was grateful. Why not 5 stars? With the premium pricetag, I do expect premium service. The bartender was more interested in chatting with some folks he knew who came to sit at the bar. He also spent a lot of time chatting up the couple next to us, so do sit at the bar if you're feeling social. However, for the spare attention he did provide us, he was a bit condescending when we asked for a different glass for a drink that came in a bowl. It was slow until the very end of our stay and yet there were several times where I had an empty glass for a long period (and wanted to order more) or needed water. FYI for 6 drinks and a few bar bites it was $165... we went for a cheap burger dinner afterwards!

Reservations are not needed but it'd be wise to coordinate if you will have a party of six or larger. This allows the correct number of servers to be assigned to your group in advance to manage things. Plenty of TVs if you want to just come watch an event and have a meal. There is a bar here and the drinks were good on my visit. Happy hour starts at 4p and there are food and drink specials available. We arrived earlier than happy hour but the portions and drink options were good to go. I went with the chicken and shrimp Alfredo with broccoli. It was enough for my appetite and needed just a pinch of salt and pepper. Our server was getting her steps in. She was attentive and made sure to balance time between us and her other tables. The food and drink orders came out right but the food could have been warmer. Booth, table and bar seating is available. Payments can be made via cash or credit card and no additional fee if using card. There were no surprise fees when the bill came. I am only speaking to their Sunday Brunch…read more I love that they have so many options. I just wish there was more flavor in those options. This is my 4th time here and it's been the same so I like their consistency and because they're consistent I believe it to be intentional. I will say that there is often an older crowd here which to me, makes total sense of why the food isn't packed with a whole lot of flavor and salt. I would just appreciate if there were just a little bit more. Just enough that I would be able to add a little bit of salt and pepper to it and make it perfect. And if I'm being completely honest, the only thing that is lacking in flavor are the meats. Everything else I think tastes great. The vibe is good. The music is sometimes too loud to have a decent conversation with your table when there are also other tables having conversation but that seems to be the norm for brunch. Personally, I think they should turn the music down a bit everywhere because we're not there for the DJ, we're there for the food and to fellowship with our peeps and the DJ/music is an added bonus not the main attraction.
