Today's lunch at Copper Canyon Grill felt like a little family reunion. I went with my coworker, Kinder, and my former colleague, Dee Dee, and we ended up running into another friend, Michael Cooper, which made it even more special. We stayed for a few hours swapping stories and enjoying the good vibes and cozy atmosphere. Now, onto the food, which never disappoints. I had my usual go-to: chicken pot pie, and let me tell you, it's still one of the best I've had anywhere. They cook each fresh in its skillet, so it comes out hot, creamy, and packed with protein and veggies, wrapped in a golden, buttery crust that practically melts when it touches your tongue. Next time, I'll remember to snap a picture because it looks as good as it tastes. We also tried a new menu item: buttermilk biscuits with honey butter spread. This was a game-changer. You get three biscuits for $8.50, which was perfect for our trio. They were soft, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. Dee Dee had a salad with a generous slice of cornbread--decent, but not a standout. Kinder ordered the meatloaf, but it didn't wow her (she took most of it home). So for us, the pot pie and biscuits were the real stars. I washed it all down with an Arnold Palmer, my usual unless I'm going for something more substantial. Between the drinks, entrees, biscuits, and good company, we had a full meal with appetizers and drinks for under $100. Ambience? Chill, dimly lit, intimate--but not so quiet that you feel whispering. You can laugh and feel like you're in your world. Our waitress took great care of us, too--friendly, attentive, and on point. All in all: great food, great company, great experience. Delightfully under new management AND IT SHOWS!!!! We had a wonderful lunch experience from the time we walked through the door. We were promptly and respectfully seated. The young man who sat us was very mannerly and respectful. We were promptly greeted by our server Kennedi. The food was very good and the service was great, something that is hard to find these days. . I got the fish and chips and my husband got the salmon which was cooked perfectly to his liking. The drinks were very good. I liked the teamwork I saw there, servers helping each other . Dirty dishes were removed from the table after we finished our meal.(a real plus for me). service started ok, I sat at the bar and my bartender checked on me a few times. when it started getting busy, she moved to the other end of the bar then it was so hard to get any service. another employee came up to me and made an unnecessary comment about how much I ordered, like they want to discourage or shame customers for how much they order. I was done and was waiting so long for my check. I asked for the check at least 3 times. another customer came up to me and kept harassing me for my seat and returning to hover over me. A change in plans landed me at Copper Canyon, and this location was most convenient. A short distance from FedEx Field and not a far drive from the Capital Beltway, this venue offers an array of options and a vast list of cocktails to satisfy and quench. Parking is ample, but note this is a busy area. Arrived right before the dinner crowd with no reservations, it was a short wait (10min) until seated. The shrimp appetizer was tasty, but 3 pieces albeit large is pricey for $18. The jalapeño cornbread was light and airy fluffier than expected for cornmeal, making it very crumbly otherwise it was fine. The crab cake sandwich was great, except it was way smaller than the bun. Unbalanced and disappointing at $24 as it was even more lacking served with shoestring fries. The service received from Lana was wonderful. She was quick, knowledgeable, and down to earth personable. Overall, the ambience was warm, the live band was a nice touch. Not bad for first time visit. Will be back to try other options if in the area. read more

Pretty decent restaurant! I use to be a regular but we kind of grew out of it. My mom really loves the bread pudding as do I so we get it as a treat when she's in town. I've tried most things on the menu. The salads are huge, cornbread is good, baked chicken is a fool proof hearty meal, burgers are decent, don't care for the rattlesnake pasta at all, love their egg rolls, spinach dip is just ok, chicken sandwich is good, ribs are hit or miss, I dont care for the Mac and cheese with bacon in it, pot pie is hearty, salmon is ok, desserts are huge and usually always good and you can't go wrong with any, and lately my favorite is the fish and fries...soooo good! Service is usually ok. Love the atmosphere and live music. We'll likely go back again for Christmas Eve dinner when family is in town...make reservations for sure! read more

Copper Canyon will alway be my favorite place to visit. The ambiance is always perfect, love the dim lights. The food however is always savory and delicious. My go-to's are the rattlesnake pasta, ribs, cheese burger and spinach dip. The salads are always delicious. Honestly, everything is good here. Use open table to reserve your table. On weekends you'll wait 45-1 hour for a wait without a reservation. Bar seating is open seating and what I end up having to do when I forget to reserve. Live music on weekends. Staff: They could have nicer staff, that would be the ONLY thing I could critic. Staff just aren't friendly. I shouldn't be saying hello first or engaging in conversation first. Great space with lots of seating in such a convenient location. Service was good and waitress was very nice and helpful with our orders. The best thing for me was the chicken pot pie, great portion with wonderful homemade flavors, crust was impeccable as well as buttery. The steaks we had were nice and tender while giving off that smoky chargrill taste alongside the garlic fries. Cornbread was ok not too moist which is what would've made it better. My mom and I were in the area and wanted to stop by a restaurant just to sit at the bar and have quality time. We decided on Copper Canyon and I am glad that we did. On Saturdays, they have a live jazz! Additionally, we got seats at the bar. Though there was a bit of a crowd within the entire restaurant, our bartender Ashley made sure that we were well taken care of. We loved the mussels. The baguette that came with it was also very delicious and was good to dip in white wine broth. I would definitely return on another night where there is jazz and try additional entrées, appetizers and desserts. My eyes are set on the bread pudding. read more

We went here on a snowy/rainy night for this week's couple's date. We were disappointed to see the Amazon driver parked in the Handicapped spot, and we didn't feel like waiting for him to move, so I was let out front to go in. The music that greeted us was loud jazz, and I thought there was a live band at times, but I couldn't see over on that side. (Sweetie confirmed there was at least one musician.) However, the music fit with the dim lighting and overall ambiance. We were seated and greeted quickly. Appetizers were put in quickly: fiesta egg rolls and Caesar salad. Both our servers were on point (one was in training.) They kept the drinks refilled and stopped by our table numerous times to check on us. I got the rainbow trout w/spinach + mash, and Poppa got the meatloaf w/mash + green beans. I typically get the prime rib, which I really like, but I needed some lighter fare tonight --I'm glad I tried something new! Both the salad and fish surprised me. I'll be getting both again. The dim spots were the parking, the loudness of the patrons, the music, and the staff. I'm sensitive to sound and can easily overstimulate, so you'll be fine if you don't have these problems. Also, it was probably not the best date night locale, as the cutest little boy loudly sang and climbed over the bench behind my sweetie's head most of the night. Took my daughter here for a congratulatory meal. We were seated promptly within 5 minutes of entry. Nice ambiance with specials offered during happy hour. I appreciated the open kitchen concept and dim decor. Candles served as nice accents on the table and our waiter was excellent. I recommend the pear martini. Portions are huge you will have enough leftover for the next meal. Cornbread also good. Rattle snake pasta is one of my favorites. A must try. Clean, good service and great food. Restaurants in largo can be hit or miss so this would be a hit. It's also been around for a long time and I like the familiarity when I'm in my hometown. read more

About yesterday,,,, So it was an Extraordinarily busy day at my job and whereas I'd planned on preparing dinner when I got home, I opted to get something to-go from Copper Canyon. I love the service at the restaurant and yesterday was no exception but when the manager, Mr. Steven Cunningham saw me, he personally took time to make sure my order was placed and even offered me a glass of tea because (as a regular customer) he could see I'd had a long day. It's easy to find good food all over the DMV but when you find it coupled with Good Service it's always an added bonus. Our actual server was not very friendly but wasnt rude either. She was efficient and got the job done. Now lets get to the food: I ordered Ribs, bacon mac n cheese, greens and coleslaw. The hostesses greeted us upon arrival with warm smiles and welcomes -- nice energy! It was lunch time, not many people dining at the time, so we grabbed a seat at the bar. Food was pretty good. I had the plant-based burger and fries. Typical preparation and presentation. We also had the spinach dip -- that was flavorful and fresh, however the chips were a bit tight-like they had been reheated. Ambiance is nice, tasteful. Overall this spot is ok. I've heard it is a hot spot for locals, but perhaps because we weren't regulars, we didn't get that vibe. The bartender's energy was off, however we did notice that after a few regulars arrived, they perked up and was chatty with the familiar faces. (We didn't get that). We are regulars and always have a great experience. Tonight we had Benjamin and he was very professional, courteous and customer service oriented. Our food was amazing and bursting with flavor. It was brought to me cold, I asked my server to take it back to be warmer, she brought it back out with my trout totally dried and the mashed potato with like a stack of brick. It has been about six years since I've been in Copper Canyon Grill. While at work, we decided to go get lunch and this was in the same parking near the Wegmans, where we were getting coffee. I suggested we go to Copper Canyon Grill, and boy am I glad I did. I love that this place is a scratch kitchen The roasted chicken mashed potatoes were really good hi substituted Collard greens for my green beans, and they were so good. So drinks refills were sparse. She did save me from the meatloaf choice which I appreciated. She was very personable and knowledgeable of the menu. The ambiance was dark and very dim lighting. The noise level was pretty loud as well. The food was just okay. The Jalapeño Serrano cornbread was dry and lacked spiciness sadly. The crab dip was decent. 7 medallions of bread are not enough imo. The Caesar salad was decent, but confused. It had bell pepper on it which didn't add anything. It also came with cornbread (also dry) I went with the Cajun Pasta with chicken. It's makes a great venue for girls night, family time, date night, happy hour and so much more. I love the LIVE music. (It can be very noisy in here..fyi) I also loved the menu it was very creative. Now, the not so great stuff. Well parking can be a bummer depending on what time you come. Also there could be a wait time (40 mins and up depending) My waiter seemed very busy so he couldn't really tend to us properly. We waited a very long time to get drinks and food (20 mins for drink ...over 30 mins for the food) my waiter was not customer friendly. The food!!! Big portions (which was nice) but needed major flavor!! My shrimp We're undercooked ! My pasta was very dry , needed more sauce / dressing. Salt / pepper or seasoning in general was needed badly. My food tasted so bland and that was a shame. I had high hopes for this place. The price is a little up there but it's to be expected. (Not complaining just letting you all know.) This is a great place to meet folks for a business lunch and I have done so more than a few times. Today we had a large group and the service team was attentive and helpful throughout. The ambiance is like a nice traditional steakhouse with plenty of dark wood tones and comfortable booths as well as tables. There are some nice modern touches like the lighting fixtures, wall details, etc. To the right when you walk in is the bar which is a decent size and is a great place to meet someone for a drink and a chat. Their Shrimp cargot is a really good appetizer with fish flavors mixed with the shrimp. They provide bread to be able to stack the shrimp. I find it helps balance the flavors out so it isn't too rich with all of that cheese. I ordered the filet steak salad which was great, it comes with cornbread croutons as well as a piece of actual cornbread, which is a very tasty touch. I asked for mine done medium rare and it was prepared just right. The steak was tender but wish they added a little seasoning when being cooked. The dressing options are good and I went for the green one which I think is a lime vinaigrette of some sort. Very good. Came here to celebrate the last chemotherapy treatment for my sister. I even had a bell and she rang it again with our family (since they couldn't be there at the medical facility). The food was excellent,as usual and we were seated as soon as we arrived-we had a reservation. The lights were dimmed as we sat reading the menu (close to 630). It was almost toooo dark to read! While the place was pretty packed, it didn't take too long to be seated. We were quickly greeted by our waitress Imani and she was so pleasant from start to finish. She was definitely a highlight of the evening. I ordered an elite margarita which was really good and STRONG. For my entree, I ordered the rotisserie chicken, which comes with mashed potatoes and green beans and the iron skillet cornbread. The chicken was so well seasoned and delicious. I love the cornbread because it had jalapeño pieces in it. The overall meal was great. Another highlight for me was the music. It sounded like a real jazz band was playing throughout the evening. Our waiter (forgot her name) was super nice and helpful! Everyone was very attentive and willing to help. We didn't have to wait long for our food or appetizers we ordered. My sister got her salmon cooked medium well and she said it was delicious! I ordered the prime rib medium but it was more medium well so I wasn't too big of a fan.
