They add pesto and tomato's in there and the Benedict they pair with creamy grits and the omelette with crispy potatoes. But I couldn't only get that I had to get the French toast. I got the French toast with mascarpone and caramel sauce. My friend got the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes. They are accommodating to any changes you have. And the ambience is really nice. We've visited many times for breakfast and lunch, but this was our first time coming for dinner--and it did not disappoint. We arrived during happy hour, which was a nice bonus. My husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine while we waited for our food. I ordered the mussels with marinara sauce, which came with fries. My husband went with the wings and a salad and was very happy with his choice. Our kids ordered a pizza and chicken tenders with fries, and both meals were big hits. First day date of 2026 we ventured to Eggspectation for brunch to kick off the year. The hostess was welcoming and after a brief 15 min wait we were seated. Service was great, fast and efficient for a busy day, the drinks were perfection and food was good but some items seemed pricey in comparison. Some version of bagel-n-lox is my go to breakfast/brunch order so the smoked salmon benny was calling my name. It was tasty but not sure it matched the price point of $25. (They have a similar dish- Bene Duck that is a croissant with poached eggs, duck confit, hollandaise on a croissant for $23 so not sure why the smoked salmon is slightly more expensive but the price-point did not deter me from trying it as its typically around $18-20 per entree most places.) The Jamaican coffee was strong coffee with a good amount of liquor, it was perfection in a mug and my fav thing of the day for $13. My hubby had the sangria and eggspectation burger $23 which he shared the burger needed a sauce so it was a bit dry and the sangria was just okay. Overall good experience and good food, some items on the menu seem a bit overpriced compared to other brunch spots but ultimately we enjoyed the experience and will be back! Making a BWI run had us in the Gambrills area, so how could we resist one of if not the best breakfast spot in the DMV!! Since I first visited the location in Silver Spring many moons ago, I've been a huge fan! The food is consistently OUTSTANDING! The interior is similar to First Watch.. Kinda country and no frills. This time out I had the crab and shrimp Benedict over cheesy grits and she had Chicken and Waffles. I've never had a Benedict like this, no English Muffin, hey, who needed the carbs anyway.. I absolutely loved it. She couldn't stop talking about how good her waffle was and after tasting it she was right! We chose not to wait and was lucky enough to snag a couple seats at the bar so that we could dive right in. This is my 3rd time trying Eggspecation and I am consistently disappointed with the experience. The greeter always mis quotes the wait time making it egregiously longer than they quote after the Sunday morning rush (2:30pm). You can try your luck in the bar area, but unfortunately no kids allowed. I beg to question if they are playing favorites, as we were seated after a group we witnessed checking in 10 min after us. Once you're seated, there is no rhyme or reason, they will sit 2 people in a large booth and 5 ppl to squeeze at a table in a main walk way. It takes a while for the server to initially stop by your table so you should probably be ready with what you want to order. The kitchen is very quick, bus people are swift, and the servers are very nice and try to accommodate as much as possible. The menu options with the southern charm, tag names, and the flavors are fabulous. If you want vegan or vegetarian options, you will have to mix a match as there are no standard menu options. Drinks are delightfully themed and fairly priced. With limited brunch options, this place has so much potential. Enjoy good people! read more

Visited Eggspectation and it surpassed my expectations lol. It gives me a first watch feel but has its own uniqueness. It was a 20 minute wait that went by quickly but not a lot of space to wait when crowded, staff were sweet, and the bathrooms were clean. Once we got seated at our table we ordered and got our food pretty quickly. To drink we had coffee, the green light juice and Page A Tropical Paradise (all really good). Then we had the gooey goose bread which was soooo good, if you don't like sweet foods, then don't dip your bread in the glaze, but that was the best part (of course so was the bread) at our table. For our entrees we had the classic eggs benedict, cajun shrimp and grits, eggspectation omelette, Toluca Poutine, and grand marnier french toast flambé. All were so good! The potatoes that came with the Benedict and omelette were so crispy and delicious. The omelette was stuffed like you'd want it! The poutine was filled was so much flavor and a great recommendation from our waitress Karen. The shrimp and grits were good and a lightly spicy with a good amount of grits (which I was surprised given other reviews on not having enough grits). I can see what other reviewers mean in the sense that they provide so much sauce for the grits that you do want more grits but I think it was just enough of a serving size and meant to be extra saucy. It's a huge restaurant, and we got seated in the back room, it felt so private. They have a special Fall menu right now, and I was so very close to getting the apple pie crepe. But it felt so much like dessert I was on the fence... it was either going to be that or the breakfast poutine. While deciding, I got a smoothie -- I forget the name, but it had lots of berries and mango in it. And it was fantastic, and I would've gotten a second one... but nah, enough money spent haha. For food, I decided to get the breakfast poutine, which had cheese curds, an egg, applewood bacon, chorizo, gravy, and more. It was quite delicious, and I was nothing short of satisfied. They have so many menus... the seasonal one, the breakfast one, and the lunch/dinner one. I'll be back, because there's much much more to try. This is was a quick cute restaurant to come to. It gives southern vibes and aesthetics throughout the restaurant and the menu options. I got the buffalo wings and a side of French fries (in my opinion the serving of fries was small, but it wasn't a lack of fries waiting to be eaten either). Also - the side was listed as roasted red beets with corn. And it was all corn. What beets there were had been cut to pieces smaller than the corn. Overall a disappointing experience. This place was BUSY on a Sunday afternoon. When I arrived, there were a few parties waiting to be seated. I added my name to a list and was told that it was about a 45 minute wait. I did like that I was able to track how long the wait was in real time on my phone. We ordered Mediterranean wings as an appetizer which were decent. We also ordered their special bread which tasted a lot like French toast. It was really good. For my entree, I ordered a southwest omelette which I didn't realize came with a side of potatoes so I also ordered a side of cheesy grits. The grits and potatoes were really good, however, the only thing about the omelette that was southwest were the vegetables. The omelette lacked any real flavor but it was edible. We've missed Eggspectations since they closed their Columbia location. We were in Gambrills today and thought we'd try this location. The decor is nice and it's much smaller than Columbia. Yes I know they're not the same but it's the comparison I have access to. It was vey crowded so we were able to sit at the bar. Which is fine because it was a good experience. Liam was our server and very friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to order quickly and the food. The menu isn't as extensive as Columbia. Overall a good experience. My wife missed have the Benedict's and was very happy to get one again. She loved it and the Lyonnaise potatoes were a great capper. My sandwich was just okay. It could have used more aioli. The staff were friendly and location clean and accessible. We did learn about the new locations coming soon in closing Columbia and Burtonsville. We'll definitely return soon. read more
