I decided to try a bagel after a grocery store run one day. I got in just in time as they close early. I ordered an opinion bagel, toasted with cream cheese. There are two ways to order that i could see - using the machines to order or placing you order at then register. Once you order, you can see your name on the screens with the time it should take to prepare. Mine came much faster than the 8 minutes it stated. I've been very excited to try Nico's since I've heard great things. I went on a weekday during the Christmas week, so it was very busy. I'm sure it was busier than a normal weekday. After ordering on the kiosk I waited about 20 minutes for my order to be ready. I ordered a plain bagel with lox cream cheese, and I can't say it was anything extraordinary. I probably enjoyed the cream cheese more than the bagel itself, but I'll probably get a flavored bagel the next time I visit. I also ordered the home fries, and these were amazing. It was definitely my favorite from my meal. The seasoning was perfect. In addition to sides like home fries, they also sell other items, like croissant breakfast sandwiches, drinks like lattes and mochas, and even omelettes. Nicos!!!! I have fallen in love with the Crabby Bagel. It is SO GOOD! The crab filling is melt in your mouth goodness and the bagel is perfection. At first, I wasn't sure where to order when I walked in and stood behind a couple, but I noticed two kiosks off to the side which made it super easy. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I originally ordered the Buttery Pecan Mocha, but they were out and suggested the Iced Ultimate PSL instead, and wow, it was delicious. I also tried the pumpkin spice bagel with pumpkin cream cheese schmear, and it was amazing. This isn't your typical Bagel spot, they have a lot of options! Nico's Bagel is a very popular bagel shop in the Gambrills area. The story behind it and how it got started is touching. The bagels are always fresh and they're similar to NY style bagels. Foot traffic could get pretty busy here in the mornings and definitely on the weekends, so I would recommend visiting when they first open or order in advance. I tried four different types of bagels from Nico's. The following consisted of the jalapeño, blueberry, everything and cinnamon raisin with vegan cream cheese spread. The vegan cream cheese tastes kinda similar to dairy cream cheese, but with a lighter taste and texture. All the bagels were plushy, good and fresh, however my absolute favorite bagel is the jalapeño, yum! I would recommend paying Nico's Bagel a visit. read more

These are probably the best bagels in Maryland! As someone who is particular about their bagels, Nico's does it right! These are truly New York-style bagels! They have a great flavor and the right consistency! I highly recommend the Blueberry Crunch Bagel. It was so fresh and tasted like REAL blueberries. I accompanied this with blueberry schmear, and you can see the chunks of fresh blueberries in it! I also decided to try the Sweetheart Mocha Coffee and it was just as impressive! It tasted like real strawberries and chocolate, not the artificial stuff. It was like someone took chocolate-covered strawberries, liquefied them, and put them in my coffee without all the pulp. The menu has your familiar bagel shop items, plus some lunch things. Salads. Smoothies. I got a salmon bagel and a mango smoothie. There's a screen that displays your estimated wait. Mine said fifteen minutes, but was up in like three. The bagel sandwich was fairly basic, but good -- the bagel was fresh, cream cheese tasty, and salmon fresh. It also came with a pickle. The smoothie was a bit more icy and less smooth than I prefer, but passable. There's some nice outdoors seating, too. read more
