My 2 year old and I checked out Naval Bagels a few weeks ago after enjoying a barre class next-door. The staff were super friendly and helpful with allergies. We ordered a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese, and a plain bagel with lox cream cheese. I also got a banana and a coffee. We took everything to go. It's a small interior with a small amount of bench seating. I love the water theme, complete with puns and trivia. I live in Elkridge, and would love to see a location closer to me, but I will definitely go again next time I'm in AA county. read more

We really love it here at Naval Bagels- it has quickly become my husband's go to breakfast spot on the weekends. There are so many options from bagels, muffins, egg sandwiches on bagels, and their fridge has a ton of cream cheese, misc spreads, fruit, and drinks to try. My husband loves the jalapeño cream cheese and the whitefish spread and I like the low fat scallion cream cheese. We've tried lots of different bagels but our faithfuls are onion bagels and the cheese/poppyseed bagel. Our daughter is a fan of their HUGE chocolate chip muffins. I had my first experience with naval bagels on Friday August 2nd. I ordered the southerner bagel on an old bay bagel. They have ALPT of bagel options, pretty much anything you can think of. The southerner consists of bacon, egg and cheese. The bagel was very tasty, I think the only thing I would change is the type of bagel I chose, but the old bay bagel wasn't bad! I ordered ahead and it was ready when I picked it up. The staff were friendly. The location is small and more of a carry out spot. they also have bottled drinks available. Bottom Line: Filing bagel sandwiches and always a consistent experience. When I am looking for a hearty breakfast Naval Bagels is one of my go-to spots given its close proximity to my house. What I like about Naval Bagels is that they are super consistent with both providing excellent service and quickly preparing my meal. My go-to is the McNosh which has egg, mozzarella and ham on it. But as far as the bagel goes, I jump around depending on what Naval Bagels has at the time of my order. My husband's go-to is the savory Southerner with bacon, egg and cheese on a sweet cinnamon bagel which I find weird but he enjoys it. Naval Bagels is a small shop that is often flooded with people waiting for their orders. There are only a few high-top countertop spots to eat in so most people get it to go. As far as beverages go, they have coffee, a Coca-cola soda fountain and various bottled beverages. read more

I stopped in to grab breakfast to go earlier this week. This was my first time visiting Naval bagels. I ordered the City Girl sandwich on a bagel and a Northerner on an everything bagel. The sandwiches weren't bad but they were packaged so poorly. When you put it down on something, the thin paper it is wrapped in leaks through. They could at least wrap it in a piece of foil to keep it secure. I ordered a bagel and cream cheese and another bagel to go. I also purchased a pound of plain cream cheese. After ordering and grabbing the cream cheese from the refrigerator I approached the counter with my credit card to pay. The lady told me that I can pay when the order was ready. I was the only one in the store so was unsure why she didn't just take my payment. I felt like I was in the scene from Meet the Parents where the airline lady told the guy, "Please step aside, Sir" as if there was a long line behind him. After awkwardly stepping away from the counter after my attempt to pay was denied, the lady called me back a minute and a half later to pay.. All in all, the bagels were OK but definitely not the best compared to other places up the street. read more

This place is right off of a beautiful running/hiking path. The Sandwich I landed on was solid! I low key love bagels. They also had great things that were available to make delicious sandwiches. We love their bagels and visit the location in Annapolis weekly. Since we were going to Severna Park, we decided to go to this one...big mistake!! Since it was early afternoon we expected the variety to be slim which it was with only 3 kinds of bagels left. We ordered and decided to eat there even though it's very small. There are 3 stools at an eating bar in front of the window and 1high top table with 2 chairs next to the door . The stools had been placed upside down on top of the bar so I asked if we could take 2 down to eat there. I was told "no" by an older guy leaning on the front counter, since they were getting ready to close in 35 minutes. Really? 35 minutes and we can't use the available seating to eat our bagels? The people sitting at the only table there heard this and kindly offered us their table since they were finished and just chatting. That was much appreciated! While eating, one of the workers there propped open the front door next to us on this 35 degree day to bring in the chairs from the 2 tables outside. It was very cold out and I asked if she could close the door since we were clearly sitting right next to it and she said "no"cuz she was bringing in the chairs since they were getting ready to close. The guy doing nothing still at the front counter agreed with the worker once again stating that they were preparing to close. I've worked in the service and retail industry most of my career and was shocked at the poor customer service we received in this establishment. Since when do you not allow customers to sit to eat because you close in a half hour. It's not like we were gonna be eating a four course meal! And when asked to close the door cuz it was cold to be told no was like a slap in the face. If you close at 2 and begin preparations to do so earlier than closing time, at least don't inconvenience your customers cuz you don't want to work any longer than you have to. The food industry is a service-focused business and you shouldn't be in it if you aren't willing to give your customers top notch service to the best of your ability. This location does a disservice to the Naval Bagels name. And just to add an observation, the guy taking the orders and leaning on the counter was literally doing nothing to prepare to close, as all his co-workers were scurrying around getting things done. Since he was older, assume he was the manager or franchise owner. Talk about setting an example! read more

This is my neighborhood bagel spot. It's literally been here since I was a kid and has always been a solid stop for breakfast or lunch. The lines can get long in the mornings or on weekends, so you have to be prepared for it, but that comes with the territory of being a locally beloved spot. There is another location closer to the Naval Academy, but I prefer this spot because I feel the service is just a little less hectic. Order a head of time for a quicker trip. This was our first time stopping so I didn't think about it at the time. Don't plan on eating there- not that I wouldn't, but I only noticed one small table. It's a typical bagel shop vibe. My husband said more than once how good their coffee (black) was. We both ordered a Bayhawk and they were delicious as well- like really really delicious. I ran past the one near Grauls by the Naval academy and thought to myself (on mile 8) that a bagel would hit the spot right after the run -- but alas we didnt want to go to the one right on the race course. This is just as popular as I had assumed it would be and a great option if you happen to be in the area. Yes it was a bit slow but they are making your bagel sandwiches in the kitchen area behind the register and they are not a big operation. This place reminds me of the good old days when folks used to actually make bagels in house vs having them shipped frozen and then "cooked"(I'm looking at you Dunkin Donuts. Oh I'm sorry. This place has gone so downhill. We used to come here quite frequently but today was the last time. Not only do they keep getting rid of their best bagel sandwiches (why would you get rid of the Annapolitan?), they only make certain bagels on certain days and they do not updated their website ever, so you never know what they have or don't have. Today we were told (AFTER we paid for our order) that the toaster was broken. You only have one toaster in a bagel shop? So disappointing. read more

Have been multiple times, as I take my kids to School of Rock in the same strip mall. The Bagels themselves are good, not great. Most multi ingredient bagel sandwiches I would skip. Their bagels are are breadier than bagely and don't have that good chew to them that makes a good bagel. Their eggs on their bacon egg and cheese I believe were microwaved and had a weird consistency- the bacon used was almost non existent and I'm not even sure it was bacon seeing as I could barely see it or taste it. I love this place. Every time I'm in the area I always order my usual, Southerner on a toasted poppyseed bagel. (That's bacon, egg, and cheese.) They used to have complimentary orange-infused water which I thought was really nice. All of their bagel sandwiches are delicious. It gets kind of busy on weekend mornings and you'll probably have to wait an extra 10 minutes for your food to be ready. The one reason they do not get 5 stars for me is that they do not have a customer restroom, which is problematic because bagels make you poop a lot. read more

Whenever I come to visit Arnold, I have to stop here for a country boy breakfast bagel. There could be better ones around, but if there are, have not found them yet.
