We made a DePoalo's Bagel & Brunch pit stop while en route to Matapeak Beach. It was a perfect stop for a quick bite before spending a few hours at the beach. Overall, I thought the service was pretty friendly and the restaurant/diner was clean with plenty of seating. DePaoloa seems like a popular place for the locals because the team seemed to know everyone's name and their orders. For my breakfast/brunch, I (as recommended) went with a bacon, egg, cheese on a sun-dried tomato bagel. While the bacon, egg and cheese portion was pretty tasty with a generous portion of bacon and egg, I did not really taste the sun-dried tomato flavor in the bagel. The bagel itself was fine, but I was expecting a bit more of a tomato "kick". I thought the prices were fine because my sandwich, two iced coffees, and tip was about $20. Since we are planning to visit Matapeak Beach a few more times this summer, we hope to stop by again and try more of their bagels. read more

Visited this cute bagel shop in Kent Island when we were in the area for a wedding at the end of April. The shop is located in a strip of several businesses, and has convenient parking right in front. A few of us came to order to-go items for our larger group of about 11 individuals. The menu has a wide selection of items, and a ton of different bagel options. Being that we never had been here before, it took awhile to look over the menu and figure out what we all wanted. The staff was friendly, answered all of our questions, and gave some great product suggestions. Our food came out quick, especially for the volume of the order. The prices of the bagels were fair, and the other items on the menu were average. I am not from this area, so it is hard to say if they were high, but I did not think they were anything egregious. I personally had a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese on a French Toast Bagel. It was very good! Also got to enjoy a Large Cold Brew that was a great size. At the recommendation of the employee who took my order, I got a Rosemary Olive Oil Bagel to try. I never had a bagel quite like it, and I enjoyed it! Lastly, got a small container of the Jalapeño Cheddar Cream Cheese for the group to share. It was fresh and the inclusions really added to the spread. Came in for bagels during Sunday brunch time and it was packed. I was craving a bagel so I was very excited to see the variety of bagels they offered. My boyfriend got 2 bacon egg and cheeses on old bay and Asiago - he enjoyed them. I got an egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The everything bagel was thin but tasty- good amount of seasoning- honestly slightly salty. The only downside is that there wasnt much egg/cheese in it. I also got the shrimp salad sandwich on a rosemary olive oil bagel. The bagel itself was OUTSTANDING. Absolutely delicious! The shrimp salad had too much sauce and a very prominent old bay taste which was too overpowering for me. The shrimps were nice and big! Probably not worth the price of over $14 however. Luckily this was open for breakfast on the 4th of July- great bagels!!!! Yet I also ordered some eggs, and when asked fries or scrambled, I know some thing was up. No preference of sunny side up, over easy or any other option. When delivered to my table, the "fried" eggs looked like they were steamed, no crispy edges, no runny yolk. They have rise up coffee, which is delicious... But aware that there are no hot espresso/latte drinks. Your choices are hot coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate, cold brew, or iced lattes. We are huge Vikings fans and we have always wanted to stop by and after my boyfriend met DePaola at the Vikings draft night we knew we had to try it. Going to Annapolis for a day trip we took a little detour and stopped for breakfast here. The Bagel's were very soft and the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel was one of the best we have ever had. The amount of different bagel flavors is amazing and we would love to go back just to try more flavors. The coffee was good too and the service. Stopped in here for a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese. Not sure if they even toasted it but it was warm so I guess they heated it somehow but it definitely was soggy and disappointing. If you have bagel in your name you should be able to provide a quality toasted bagel - especially at their price - which was $4.15. I wouldn't mind paying that price for a great bagel but this was a soggy cream cheese oozing hot mess of a dough lump. This is the second time I've been here and experienced an undercooked doughy bagel. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time since they had just opened but that was a while ago. The restaurant/bagel place is quite large with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a large menu of sandwiches, eggs etc. The lox, first order had a lot of salmon on it and was quite thick. On a return trip not as much but still good. Not NYC bagels but still ok. Garlic is the best. Egg dishes are good as well. Service was good, place order at counter and they bring your food. While commuting to Annapolis and surrounding areas I had a hankering for a bagel. I'm originally from NYS & grew up with real hand rolled, boiled & baked bagels. Since being transplanted to NJ then Delaware. It is hard to find a great bagel. Sure some have come close enough but I've had to settle. This place can't be compared to a NY bagel but it does have some decent qualities in taste & texture. They steam, then bake their bagels here. The bagels are fluffy inside & have a bit of a chew on the crust. This gives them a similarity like a 2nd cousin. I had mine toasted & I think it upped the ante for me. What really impressed me was how delicious and fresh their cream cheeses are. The lox cream cheese was crammed full of big chunks of the cold smoked salmon. So delicious. I ordered this 3 days in a row! The staff is friendly & efficient. The place is definitely busy with take out orders. But it's clean and inviting and has much seating. It serves breakfast & brunch and the menu looks extensive for these items. If I lived here I'd frequent this place regularly. It's in a strip mall right off the highway on a side road with plenty of parking. A gem for sure! read more

Wow wow wow. Best d@mn shrimp salad sandwich this side of the bay bridge. FYI - you can get your sandwich on other types of bread or a wrap. I think it would be a good idea for them to mention this on their menu - not everyone likes a bagel sandwich. - Best blueberry bagel I think I've ever had. I judge all bagel places on their blueberry bagel. You could smell it before you ate it - heaven. No other bagel place nearby can say that. Great cream cheese and not skimpy. For Kent Island this is a five star bagel joint. Their bagels are honestly not bad at all. They're not New York bagels, but they're better than any bagel in Washington DC or northern Virginia. We swung in for breakfast as we were in the area for the bay bridge boat show. It was easy to find and the service was quick. I had the smoked salmon sandwich on an everything bagel. The portions are large. I was only able to eat half. It was probably won of the best, if not the best, bagel and lox combos I've ever had. My husband did a bacon, egg and cheese on an old bay bagel. He said it was very good. They have a large selection of bagels and various cream cheeses. We also ordered coffees, I believe I ended up with the dark French roast and I usually do not like a dark roast but I really enjoyed this blend. We had our dog with us so we didn't dine in, but from what I could see, there was plenty of indoor seating. Outside there are two tables. I would return if I was in the area. read more

This little bagel store is amazing. The people are very friendly and get the orders right. The bagels are very good and the toppings are fresh. It is hard to get a good bagel in Virginia so this was a delightful surprise for us. I just had a plain bagel and butter. But my husband had the smoked salmon which he said was so good it was like being back in New York. The coffee was excellent and so was the hot chocolate. Once in a while you may get lucky when they pull out of the oven fresh home made, the most delicious Cinnamon Sticky Buns! Food is great, no doubt about it. We went around 9:30am Sunday morning, a couple tables were occupied but not overly overwhelmingly busy. I ordered one bagel egg sandwich and waited 35 minutes, brutal wait but even harder to watch. I know they're very new, but if you can't fix and figure out how to turn and burn during brunch- it's going to be rough sailing. So a 4.5 star rating while traveling through the area is a load of crap. The place looked cool but my sandwich wasn't even fully filled with eggs and bacon. the bagels were phenomenal and i would've gave a 5 star if it weren't for how terrible the service was. me and my boyfriend were the only people in there and our bagel with cream cheese and breakfast sandwich took 15 minutes to come out with almost 6 staff members. the person behind us got their food before us. i was presented with a very unwelcoming and cold staff, even when we were ordering and paying for our food. we went to the car to start eating and my bagel was absolutely burnt, which is ironic for how long it took our food to come out. i had to go inside and ask nicely for another bagel and was again presented with an unwelcoming staff who said nothing when i showed them the bagel and got another one in return. my boyfriend did say this was the best bacon, egg, and cheese he's ever had and my bagel with cream cheese was very yummy, but the staff needs to know how to interact with costumers. read more

While in Annapolis Tuesday morning, l stopped at 'Bagels And' on West St in Parole and ordered my very fav an ET bagel, double toasted w/egg. This is where my love & craving for a great bagel all began back in the 80's when Charlie and Eileen relocated from New York City and opened their bagel shop. Well hands's-down..... there's no comparison. When first opened the bagels were great but they over did the toppings. Like a salt bagel was way over salted. They heard customers and changed. Bagels were perfect. Now I notice large holes in the dough from the rising part of the dough. A bagel should be chewy. Should put a little fight in every bite. Lately last two times purchased the bagels are so soft and fluffy they won't cut in my guillotine bagel slicer. They just mush down. The bagel are to soft. The taste is good but I want to feel a difference in a bagel that a soft doughnut. Light and fluffy are not two words you want to use when describing a bagel. Still a loyal customer. The food here is 10/10. However, there is a manager who is consistently rude, loud and inappropriate to guests and employees. I've witnessed her twice now yell at customers and her employees. Once she went ballistic on a DoorDash worker who was simply just following DoorDash policy of confirming the order. She continued to yell loudly and I really felt bad for the customer and employees. It was super embarrassing to watch and makes me never want to go back and support such rude, inappropriate behavior. All of the other employees are kind and courteous. I never leave reviews, EVER! I'm the last person to do so and always give people grace but this is RIDICULOUS! I have a wedding this weekend and the Bride and Groom love DePaola's bagels so I order $100 worth to pickup yesterday (and tipped by the way). I was sent two confirmations (email and text) saying pick up is at 2:30 PM (see screenshots attached). Google also says they close at 3 PM (see screenshots). I get there at 2:20 PM, they're closed. I live an HOUR away and drove to pick this up. Called, no one answered. Messaged on Facebook and Instagram, they read my messages and didn't respond! I called first thing this morning and the "staff manager" Mercedes was VERY RUDE, unhelpful and unprofessional. Would give me no answers and never once apologized for the inconvenience. The only thing out of her mouth was "does our website not specify we close at 2?". NO IT DOESNT. Three places told me otherwise - get your public information figured out and learn how to run a business and handle situations where YOU as the business mess up! I am baffled by this behavior and I promise you I will never return here again. I guess I will have to call my bank for my refund since they won't give me any answers at all! I ve been there 5-6 times in last 5 months . On the first time the bagel and lox l was great. The next time I took friends it was a day old bagel . The third time it was good again . The new breakfast they started was only very fair . I took friends yesterday. And their prices went up almost 20 % . Amazing bagels!!!! This place blows naval bagels in Annapolis away!!! They are so light and just awesome. The cream cheese tastes homemade...it's so good! They even have a full breakfast menu. Can't wait to try other options!! You've got to try them out! So glad we did! read more
