Was looking for a quick coffee and breakfast on my way out of St. Michael's and found Blue Crab Coffee from a Google search. This place seems to be a fan favorite with locals and visitors! It was busy but not in a bad way. I ordered food to go but ended up sitting down to eat it because there was tons of seating available. Great spot for a family to have breakfast or a group of friends. Very accommodating for all ages! My breakfast wrap was incredible! And the coffee was amazing! If I visit st. Michael's again, I'll definitely be making a trip back there. read more

About a 2-2.5: Blue Crab Coffee seemed to be a popular spot for a caffeine fix, so we stopped by while we were in the area. They do have a menu, offering an all-day fare. We ordered a latte with oat milk and an iced coffee, and both were just 'okay' - it could have been more strong, and the latte was asked to be 'extra hot', which came out room temperature. Staff could be a bit more friendlier; also, the drinks just take way too long to prepare, even with 3+ staff on shift. There's a good amount of seating, but the surfaces and the furniture needs to be wiped down. I recommend in avoiding using the restroom. Stopped by during a weekend for some breakfast, and it was pretty crowded. We ended up getting drinks only instead because it would be over 30+ to wait for food, which we couldn't do with a cranky child. The coffee was okay, the chai latte was good. Service needs some attention. The folks at the counter were a bit rude (you have to wait a while for the food, take it or leave it attitude), like they did not want to be bothered. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was busy, but I don't think service should be overlooked. read more

Visiting Saint Michael's has been amazing until we went to this place. We ordered take out, intending to eat it on the way to an appointment. Food came out, we decided to eat at the table in the restaurant as we had about 10 minutes to spare. The worker came up to us to tell us next time we come that we should call ahead so we could use their dishes and not ruin the environment...what in the world? Who approaches their customers like that? I didn't ask them to use all plastic. I've seen plenty of bagels wrapped in paper and easy to eat on a morning walk. Not this place, it was full on cheap plastic. I didn't ask them to use that stuff for their take out option. So did they not want us to use their table? Do they wish they used paper instead of plastic? Or was the guy just in the mood to be rude? Anyway, no worries, there won't be a next time. Salmon bagel was not very good. My tip to him- his customers actually are who make the restaurant money. He's an overhead cost and easily replaceable: Management please take note- find better workers. People come in to eat to have a nice day and enjoy their family, not to be scolded. read more

Solid lox bagel sandwich w delicious dill cream cheese! Yummy raspberry matcha whoopie pie that goes great with ice coffee. Very cute interior and we love the logo. Adorable coffee shop in a quaint setting! It's just off the Main Street and also offers a nice food menu. We were there for a late breakfast and ordered the egg and cheese on an English muffin. Ultimately very simple but it was nicely done and very tasty--cheesy, fluffy eggs! I ordered a chai latte as well and added it pumpkin flavoring. It was delicious! A slightly less rich chai, but still with nice flavors! They have ample seating inside and service is quick and friendly! read more

Coffee is aiite ...but the Maryland Bagel is fire! Old Bay cream cheese, lox, capers, tomatoes, and onions all on a slightly toasted sesame bagel. There is something about this combination that truly is the chef's kiss. This was so good that we decided to grab another one the next day. Sadly they were all sold out at 12 pm so we left home sad and hankering for a next trip back. Highly, highly recommend. read more

Visiting this historic town and after walking through town stopped here for a bite to eat for lunch. I had one of the BEST BLT sandwiches I've ever enjoyed! The bread was perfect for this kind of sandwich...firm, chewy and big slices. The tomatoes tasted like they came right out of the garden and the generous amount of bacon was complimented by the lettuce and perfect amount of mayonnaise. Yum! If the rest of the food served here is anything like my sandwich it will be a winner for all who visit this treasure one block off Talbot St near Railroad! read more

With the caveat that this is $$$ prices for bagelwiches and small snacks, this is a great little spot that made us feel welcomed and relaxed. The Maryland bagel (salmon, crab, and Old Bay creamcheese) was interesting, and we complimented that with a NY bagel sandwich and some backed items. The layout inside looks intriguing for music -- the stage is at one end, and a small bar area/coffee counter, I can imagine this would be a beloved local coffee house scene off-season. The historic building is a nice plus for the experience. We had snappy and friendly service at the counter, albeit at the end of the business day (1:40 PM with a 2 PM closing time). There was plenty of outdoor seating available on a nice day, almost too nice; we stuck inside to avoid the direct sun on an unseasonably warm spring day. But if you're looking for a little mellow outdoor café experience, here's your place. read more

Service was friendly and fast in this beautiful place. I had a little argument with the hand sanitizer, which I found funny. The sweet barista was very apologetic, but it truly was not her fault. The Blue Crab is the best coffee shop that I found in St. Michaels. They are the only coffee shop in town with a cortado on the menu, which usually indicates a place that understands espresso, and their cortado was excellent. It also has comfortable seating. Their snack selection is quite limited, but my choc chip cookie was good. read more

Great spot for breakfast and lunch on the Eastern Shore! For a coffee shop, they definitely have robust food options. The lavender coffee left more to be desired as it almost tasted soapy. However, the Maryland Bagel and Chorizo Tortilla were amazing! As a fan of Old Bay seasoning, I was excited to try their Maryland Bagel with Old Bay cream cheese and it paired extremely well with the salmon. As a coffee shop the Blue Crab is a nice place for a cup. Many, if not most, of the breakfast items shown on the online menu are not available. I don't mean they are sold out, I mean they are not on the menu in the shop. It is not a good place to have anything resembling breakfast. Sorry, I expected more. read more

Quaint little coffee shop! Quiet and great place to read, do some work, catch up with a friend. One big benefit of eating here: you are truly supporting local. A local business, locally owned, and serving smoked salmon, kombucha, bagels, gluten free bakery items (and more), all from various St Michaels and close-by businesses! Good chai latte, and tasty bagel breakfast sandwich (bacon egg and cheese). Friendly and genuine service. Right next to the public library and near lots of shops and restaurants. The breakfast bagel came nicely toasted with delicious egg whites, 2 pieces of thinner bacon, and melted cheese. Perfect temperature. Blue Crab's ice-cold air conditioning felt great as I ducked out of the August sauna; the hot latte just added another layer of juxtaposition. I tried a Maryland bagel (a local take on the lox/cream cheese classic), and I built my own omelet too. Both were good, though I would note that there can be a bit of a wait for food as there is only one short-order cook. The two guys behind the counter were very friendly. I just ordered a black coffee but we struck up a conversation about California. Maybe I was wearing something from San Diego but one of them was going to be going to school at USC. The place was very nice and the people were also very nice and accommodating. This cute quaint coffee shop in St. Michael's is definitely a locale I'd recommend to everyone. Loved the variety of milk substitutes and seasonal syrups. I ordered lavender latte with the seasons lavender syrup added. Super cute place. You can order food as well in the cafe area off to the side. They even had a small selection wine bottles for sale right at the counter. Didn't stay long because I just needed a pick me up to continue on our Taste of St. Michael's tour, but definitely this is a good detour off the main road of the little town. read more

This place was recommended to us for some morning coffee. It was so cute inside with the plants on the counters and paintings by local artists on the walls that are for sale. Coffee came out quickly. Vanilla latte was delicious and coffee was good too. I got a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and the bagel was perfectly crunchy while still being soft and airy inside. The lights inside this place were SO cool, I wish I'd gotten a picture. Check them you when you stop by! And luckily there is a parking lot right across the street so parking is not a concern. read more

I am 100% a coffee snob. I love coffee, and I love Starbucks, so in small towns I am always in search of the closest match. And yes, Starbucks has the best coffee of all time and this is from someone who drinks 3-4 cups a day and is from the Washington, DC area so I've tried a lot of coffees. I do not like earthy, strong flavored coffees - my drink of choice is Starbucks blonde roast. So this coffee was excellent and just perfectly flavored... I believe I got the House blend. The decor is beautiful, the music is on point, and it is well heated. Highly recommend! read more

Helen and Brian are the owners of this --- way beyond a coffee place!! Helen happens to be an architect and my husband and I were so impressed when they first opened. The place has a really cool vibe. They serve breakfast and lunch. Everyone working at Blue Crab had a terrific attitude and they are so appreciative of their patrons. Brian informed me today that they will be adding outdoor tables. This is fab for dogs Andreas their people - one more restaurant they can visit. I am s "high maintenance coffee drinker." I love cappuccinos with strong espresso and fat free milk. My husband likes regular coffee and he says theirs is great. I love that they have fresh fruit cups daily. read more

A couple of small notes: the endive salad wasn't our favorite because it was covered in onions, which wasn't mentioned and unfortunately I really dislike onions. Also, the pork chop tasted amazing but we did notice toward the end that part of it was a bit undercooked. That said, overall the meal was excellent and we had a really great time.
