The ambiance was very cool I really liked the decorations. The smell of the shop was just amazing it smelled soooo good. I got the iced latte with brown sugar cinnamon, and my girlfriend got the iced chai latte. Both of the drinks were delicious. I would say it was one of the best chais I've had so far. The service was very quick and our barista was very nice even told us about some of the decorations on the wall. The pricing was very reasonable as well. We had a great experience. read more

While staying in St. Michael's, every local told me the best coffee is Blue Heron Coffee. Run by a friendly man, this small coffee shop roasts their own beans from around the world. The coffee menu is robust and brew anything from drip coffee to a vanilla latte. Within minutes, my large vanilla latte was handed to me in a colorful branded to-go cup. First thing, the people that work here are super awesome. Even though we were just passing through we felt like we were part of the community. Very rarely have I walked into a place and felt like I was part of it already. The coffee was also extremely good. I had the Donnie Darko and must say it was one of the smoothest dark roasts I have ever had. You can honestly taste the quality that comes from being roasted on location. I ask the questions; he answered the questions** AS for the goods, I like worm dirt and the EC behind the counter hooked me up with his darkest roast, Donny Darko. Holy Christ 2: Electric Morning Brew! This. Is. Why. I. Drink. Coffee. Perfect cup of Joe. The flavors were amazing. the freshness was incredible. They roast and grind their own coffee, and you know it's good if restaurants around town boast they serve Blue Heron coffee (even if they water it down--better at the source!). This was a cute coffee shop on the Eastern Shore. Why really stood out to me is the fact that the barista offered us samples before we decided on any coffee. I don't know if that is common, but I have never had that happen and it was a nice touch, in that I could find what I really wanted. The other cool thing is that everything here was locally sourced. I don't know if a lot of people are like me, but whenever I can find something local that I can't get somewhere else, that's an added 10 points. Should also mention that the coffee wasn't bad! I had a horrible oat milk vanilla lattee here. I don't know what was so wrong but from the moment she handed it to me, the color was very off in terms of a lattee. I brought it up and they told me it was from the oat milk. I drink a lot of oat milk and it never looked like that before. I drank it, it was disgusting and I had to trash it. Not gonna lie, I'm a big Starbucks fan. With that said.... this is by far the best coffee I've ever had. The machine they use is unlike any other and their cold brew is phenomenal. If I could buy it in bulk, I would in a heart beat. Highly recommend the cold brew with the house made vanilla syrup. It literally tastes like ice cream, but without the guilt. I wanted to love this place. I think there should be more local coffee roasters, because there's nothing like freshly roasted coffee. But it makes no sense to have a coffee shop and not offer espresso. I realize espresso machines cost money. And this owner told me he just can't afford it. And he personally thinks lattes are silly. But I prefer to drink an Americano, and you can't make that without espresso. I did order a decaf coffee. The only variety available was mild--some days he brews decaf Sumatra, but it was not my lucky day. The coffee was not very hot, and they don't offer half & half, only milk, so when I had to use a lot more milk than I would half & half, the coffee was lukewarm. I did have an awesome quiche. And the owner is very pleasant. But there's a better coffee shop in town. I hope the owners will add espresso and half & half some day, because I'd like to see them succeed. read more
