Stopped by Brown Mustache Coffee while walking around Annapolis. It's a small, quaint coffee shop tucked inside a bookstore, which gives it a pretty relaxing vibe. There were a few students working on laptops and reading, so it felt like a good spot to hang out for a bit. I was a little disappointed they didn't have cold brew, which is usually my go-to. The service was quick and the barista recommended an americano since they didn't have a cold brew. But wanted to just try something new. Be prepared to stand in line if you are ordering coffee. The place is small...quaint would do. Despite its small & cramped size it is very cozy. You can ready a book, buy a book, relax or just chat it up with a new friend you meet there or the friends you bring along. Yes it's not just coffee it's a bookstore with a real live mascot in Ferguson the friendly Bernice Mountain dog. Check out the drink specials it will be worth your while to order one because can't get them year around. The pasties or good as well, just ask them to heat them up because they are cold! My only complaint is they didn't heat up our pastries and by time I sat down I don't want to get back in the long line to ask them to heat them up. Of course I could just skip the line but did I mention it's small and cramped to navigate. There is a downstairs so be sure to check it out. This is a coffee shop located inside of Old Fox Bookstore! There is actually more seating than I expected. I popped inside during a thunderstorm to grab of nice cup of hot tea (earl grey) which was lovely and at least not just with a standard tea bag! The girl managing the coffee shop was polite and super fast with my order. I would come back to try out some of their more complex drinks like their lattes that were really popular when I came by! read more

This tiny coffee shop tucked away inside of warm and welcoming bookstore was exactly what I needed on a cold windy afternoon My coffee was made as requested and tasted great The counter service was sweet, even offering me a mug, so I could stay and enjoy the books. I was there for several hours working on a project, and no one seemed to mind adults and students like seem to have an understanding of the quiet joy inside this place. I had heard about this coffee shop, nestled inside a bookstore in DT Annapolis, so I knew I had to check them out (besides the fact that their name is super cute!). The menu offers locally-roasted coffee, grass-fed milk from local creameries, teas, and GF items from Bakery Girl Bakedgoods. I had the hot caramel latte, requesting this to be extra hot, with oat milk - unfortunately, this was super watered down and wasn't strong enough for me; wasn't able to get my caffeine fix here. Well, Old Fox and Brown Mustache go hand-in-hand, and I love Brown Mustache just as much as the bookstore they're partnered with. The coffee and treats are delicious! They've also got a nice selection of teas. Being in a warm, relaxing bookstore, they add to the feel of the place with their café sounds and yummy smells wafting around the place. The inside tables are often packed with people enjoying their coffees and food, so it's definitely not just me that loves them! Their online menu did not match the menu in the cafe, so when I asked for my rose matcha latte, they only gave me matcha and I had to ask them about the rose. They said they haven't done rose matcha in over a year. I ended putting in their house made honey rose but you couldn't even taste it. I recently went to this cafe when stopping at Old Fox Books & Coffeehouse! The barista was the absolutely sweetest to me and my mom and was super helpful and patient. My mom got a tea and I got an iced caramel oat milk latte that was SOOO good! We also got a coconut lime muffin I believe and that was also super scrumptious! There are a few seats inside as well as some outside, the space is within the bookstore and it's very quirky and fun! If you're in need of a caffeine pick me up I definitely recommend or if you're in the book store make sure to also stop here! This coffee shop makes my bookworm heart happy. The front of the coffee shop is a bookstore with used books for sale. The coffee shop is located at the back of the bookstore. I ordered the mocha flavored iced latte. The coffee is actually tasty and it had a good amount of kick I needed to get through my afternoon. Do not forget to check in through Yelp to get 15% off your drink. The decor in this place is very interesting. There are books everywhere. There is a basement where there are more used books for sale and more seating area to study and hang out. There is also a patio and backyard area where you can hang out as well. It's such a good place to hang out during a nice day. This place is also very kid friendly. There is a small play area inside for kids with kids books and also there is a playhouse outside in the backyard for kids to play in. Overall, do check this place out. I go to a lot of coffee shops when I travel, and this is by far my favorite. Hands down. It has everything I could want from a coffee shop. To begin, it's in Historical Downtown Annapolis, Maryland which is a treat in itself. Just walking to the shop, you can take in the old nautical holes of the 1600s and 1700s. Once you get to the shop, you will notice at first that you are actually walking through a bookstore. Not a coffee shop. Old Fox Book Store occupies the front half of the old home-now store. It's when you walk to the back of the store that you see an entire area dedicated to the coffee shop. The menu isn't too big, but they always have some cool selections; my favorite being the wide variety of loose leaf teas that you cant find anywhere else. My go to is always the "Bonfire" tea which truly reminds me of sitting next to a warm fire on a cold fall day!!!! It's so amazing, I buy it in bulk most times I go back to Maryland! Annnnd this fall they even have London Fogs with the bonfire tea which is even more of a plus!!! The thing I really like about this shop though, is the atmosphere. You have the back area that feels like a normal coffee shop, but I'm too of that, you have a basement you can sit in that has tables in-between book shelf's! You honestly feel like you're studying at Hogwarts! Out back they have a garden that is decked out like something from a fantasy movie! From fairy gardens to suits of armor and even an outdoor chandelier, it's something you don't see in typical coffee shops! The cafe offers a lovely ambience with its location on Maryland Avenue in the back of Old Fox Books, with access to the quaint porch and wooded backyard. The service itself is always great, so my only reason for four stars instead of five is that the lattes and cappuccinos (or anything including milk) often are hit or miss, usually tasting quite strange and off. Perhaps they are using some strange hipster milk that I'm not familiar with! After dropping off the girls at summer camp, my Sis and I decided to treat ourselves to a cup of coffee. We had plans to go to the Banneker-Douglass Museum later that morning which is conveniently around the corner. The quaint entrance to the cafe did not prepare us for the richness within. I love books. Guess what? They were everywhere. The front of the house is Old Fox Books, and I'm not sure if both business are connected. What I do know was that I needed to focus because I have limited space in my luggage! Maddie, the barista, was pure sunshine...bright smile and full of warmth. I ordered the Lavender Latte, which I was informed the Lavender syrup is homemade by Colleen the owner! It was wonderful! My sister ordered the Vanilla latte. She loved her drink as well. They use Ceremony coffee which is really good! We both annihilated our almond croissants... both were perfectly buttery and flaky as they should be! We were able to chat with Joel, the owner for a bit. Great guy! They have a great outdoor space in the back with a little nook for the kiddos. This is probably one of the cutest coffee shops and bookstores that I have visited. Brown Mustache Coffee is located in the back of The Old Fox Bookstore and Coffee Shop. The coffee here is really good. They have a variety of drinks on their menu as well as a seasonal menu. I ordered a lavender latte and my husband ordered a London Fog. Our drinks came out after a few minutes and they were well made. My lavender latte was a good balance of sweetness and flavor. There was one person behind the bar making the drinks. So it took a few minutes but she was very friendly. The coffee they use is high quality too. The coffee shop is cozy and the bookstore is equally cozy and inviting. There are plenty of spaces to sit, with two levels, outdoor seating, and a kids area. The outdoor patio is a dream. With string lights, a chandelier, and a unique play area (you walk into a giant book), the space encourages you to slow down, enjoy your beverage, with a good book or good company (or both). If I lived here I would come all the time. I will just have to be satisfied with visiting it. read more
