I loved that after I ordered they didn't turn a screen around with tip options of 20/25/30%. For that alone I'll keep coming back! Just pay, enjoy, tip as you like. I feel like this place is a sleeper that most do not know about. Sitting in the corner of a business complex. It is large, bright and friendly inside. All the workers were nice. Lots of drink options and some food as well. I got a cup of coffee and they gave me the house blend which had a very strong dark roast flavor. I'll ask for a mild option next time. This tasted more like a Starbucks roast if you like that. (I don't) They have this big shelf of like 40 different coffee beans that I think you can choose from to enjoy in store or take home. Nice selection, but I wish they listed the roast dates. They also have a dozen+ teas to choose from. Breakfast sandwich on bagel was very good BUT it would be nice if they offered bagels from a local bakery.... like Naval bagels. These were kind of bready as opposed to a nice firm chewy traditional bagel. All in all, I will definitely come back. It's a really nice place inside and out. read more

This was my first visit to The Big Bean. My periodontist is in this office building, so my goal is usually to get in & get out. Today was a lovely weather day, so I stopped to check it out. I ordered a mocha and a bagel. They have a big menu and some good-looking treats in the glass case at the counter. The staff were pleasant and efficient. Patrons were hanging out, both inside and out, enjoying coffee; some doing work on their laptops. Overall, the space and setup are just so much more inviting than the "S" chain of coffee shops. read more

Great location! Right by the mall but not in the mall. Good drink list, if you can think It It looks like they can make It. Extensive flavor menu. Also all the alternative milks are available. My soy latte (iced) was pretty smooth. It tasted a bit sweetened and very coffee forward. I definitely enjoyed the stronger coffee flavor. The gluten free vegan blue berry muffin was crumbly. It's made by a local baker and It was okay. There's a few other pastries and they all seem locally made. And they offer discounted day old items too. I love the ability to keep and save It instead of tossing them. Plenty of seating inside and outside. They have a large patio with umbrellas. Great place for lunch. They have some sandwiches from the Park Deli and some breakfast sandwiches as well. I'd definitely come back to hang out. The colors are bright the space is good. The barista was nice. Didn't try to get to know me like they do at my local Starbucks but pretty nice service with a smile. Thank you! read more

I've been there twice. They've got a lot of variety on the menu and I enjoyed both drinks. The space is cute and well planned, there's games and things to do on the counter. I only ask that they not make everything so sweet as the default. The flavor that comes from chai is the spices, not sugar. read more

This coffee house is the closest to my house (not counting WaWa) so I've been meaning to try it for awhile--I'm more of a tea drinker so went to the Chai Latte. It was tasty-the right amount of spice and sweetness. Only neg on the drink was that it wasn't hot-more warm which is fine but some may like it hotter. The location while convenient definitely doesn't give off typical coffee vibes for me. It was the afternoon so they had rock music going to get you in the spirit for the weekend. A little too loud for me-I must be getting old. The other drawback was the lighting. Florescent ceiling lighting doesn't give the right vibe. They do have other lighting but it's is quickly overtaken by the glaring ceiling lights. Decor otherwise is fine. Ample seating inside and out. I'd throw some material over the lights to help with ambiance. Service was quick and the staff very friendly. People seem to enjoy working there. Would likely come back but would stick to the outdoor seating for the lighting. read more

This a great location across from the Annapolis Mall off BestGate tucked back into a business park. They have a wide variety of hot or cold drink options. Plenty of parking and indoor or outdoor seating. Friendly staff and genuine in their desire to help you find what you want to drink. Loose teas, coffee options cold and hot along with tons of smoothies galore.. They have an amazing breakfast cookie but now I stick to gluten-free options which they carry. Love their cold brew - I grab one whenever I have the chance! Way better than the cold brew at another local coffee place. Staff is always friendly. Bagel was nothing to write home about but haven't tried their other food. Always a good selection of baked goods though. read more

Finally a location in Annapolis, been going to the Severna Park location for years. Best drink on the menu is definitely the hot Mexican mocha. The Big Bean is worth a visit if you are in the commercial district of Annapolis. I came for a quick cup of cold brew and left with two drinks and a few pastries. I tried the nitro cold brew and it wasn't pretty good...better than anything you would expect from Starbucks which is great because that's exactly why I venture to try local coffee shops over commercial big businesses. The cookies are staring right up at you through the glass so you won't be disappointed if you order one of those delicious soft chocolate chip cookies...I took one bite and instantly said to myself...well I didn't expect that lol. I noticed the guy behind me trying one of the Italian sodas so I had to order that too...I didn't finish the mango soda but if it had not been for the cookie the soda is certainly worth it for a dessert option. There is seating inside and outside and the staff one me over with one simple comment..."if you don't like it, we will gladly re make or you can try something else" it's the little things for me...menu has depth for sure....service is quick fast and efficient. Big Bean is off the typical Annapolis path but don't mistake their location for service and quality levels. I will certainly venture back even if it meant taking 10'min to park and enter. read more

I went there this morning for the first time ever this morning. The second I walked in, I was greeted with a smile. The young woman behind the counter was a sweetheart. She complimented my makeup too, which was a great start to my day. I ordered the frozen mexican mocha. Oh my heavens!!! YOU HAVE TO ORDER THIS. IT'S DELICIOUS! If you're looking for AA County's best cup of coffee look no further. The Mexican's mocha comes highly recommended. The location is a little odd, but lovely inside. The \menu had many alternatives were available for the dairy-free crowd. The staff were wonderful and really make the atmosphere. They have a nice coffee and tea selection, but no online ordering or pickup options that I could find on the web or social media which meant waiting in a long line inside the store where neither their employees nor customers were masked, despite the prevalence of Delta in our area. I just didn't feel safe. And furthermore, they only had two breakfast options and no dogs are allowed on their patio. I'd recommend going further down Bestgate to Bean Rush. read more

Nice shop with extensive menu. One star off for the not very tasty but more like scalded dirty chai, and one star off that it cost $6.43 for a 16 oz. before tip, and the chairs and tables weren't very clean despite plenty of staff behind the counter. Service was slow considering how many staff were there for a few customers. Hope they can address these issues as we're all for more locally based coffee shops. read more
