My wife had the shrimp risotto, which was creamy, flavorful, and packed with shrimp. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the meal was exactly what we were hoping for. Nestled in an unassuming plaza is Nonna Angela's. Upon arrival, we were greeted and they were ready for our reservation. We had more than 10 so we had to sit in 2 groups but it was no issue to split checks and order. Our server, not Guiseppe or Gallagher was great and attentive. He shared the specials, was organized and on top of water refills. The orders ranged from the special to the crab bruschetta, Fettuccine Alfredo to Carbonara. Not one complaint the entire time. We joined our group a day late but the restaurant was good enough that we visited two days in a row. If you are in the area, make the trip and head to Nonna Angela's. Yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of treating my son, mother, and myself to one of the best Valentine's Day dinners I have had. I have to share our experience from the beginning. So we drove a good 30mins to get here, with anticipation from seeing this restaurant on a travel channel, but the original location is in NY. We get there, and its plenty of free parking. We ask for seating for 3 and we are told they are only seating individuals who booked a reservation. Totally understandable considering its Valentine's day. I dropped the ball folks. I didn't make a reservation. So I noticed a bar lounge which we were told we could wait for a seat to open up. As we were waiting a coupled jumped in front us and took a seat. The manager Claudia came to the rescue like the dark knight but with more grace. She mentioned she was willing to put us on the list for a table in the main dining area. I accepted her kind gesture and continued to wait for bar lounge seating to open up. A couple was kind enough to come over to us and ask if we were waiting for bar lounge seating. They offered their table to us as they were ending their night. There was a 2 man band playing in the lounge area that was very soothing to the ear. As I tried to help my mother get comfortable at the hightop table, I noticed she was having a difficult time getting seated in such a high chair. Guess who came to the rescue, you guessed, Claudia! She's the best, 100 grand, made me a real fan. So she came over and said our table was ready if we wanted a booth seating and we all know that's the best seats in the house. All I could think is look at God. The wait wasn't even long either. 10 out of 10 for saving the day. In addition our waitress was such a sweetheart. I mentioned a white malbec I saw on the menu that I was astonish to see b/c I never knew of such a thing. She bought me a small glass to taste and my God, I am a true believer Jesus turned water into wine. Its so clear like water but the taste is amazing. The food is so delicious. The restaurant is very clean. The staff is very personalable. Everyone cartered to us. You would have thought we were the Obamas or something. As we were stuffing our faces, Claudia comes around handing out roses to the men/boys to give to their dates. Complimenting my son and his daper outfit she hands him a rose and tells him to give it your mommy. At the moment he lights up with a big smile as if he paid for the rose himself. I can tell he felt like a gentleman and good that he could give his mother a red rose on Valentine's day. That small gesture was very thoughtful and appreciated. I apologize for my essay, but they desired it. I love the service, the ambiance, the food, and service. I haven't seen my mother smile so much in a while. Hats off once again dear Yelp community for this wonderful Italian restaurant. We were in town for a festival a couple of months ago. Afterwards we were tired and also hungry for a good non-fast food meal. We consulted the handy dandy Yelp app, which pointed us to Nonna Angela's. The restaurant is located in a nondescript strip mall and it's easy to get to from the major roads. Plenty of free parking in the private lot out front. When we got there we were a wee bit nervous because their sign wasn't yet lit up for the evening. Fortunately, they were open. We were seated promptly in a very nice large booth - you need this for the plates! We were greeted at our table promptly and our drink order taken along with appetizers. We got the crispy Brussels Sprouts and the mozzarella 'planks'. The Brussels Sprouts were yummy, and the mozzarella sticks nice and chewy. On to our entrees. On the recommendation of the server I chose the lasagna and I am so glad I did - the pasta was thin and delicate, gravy nicely balanced and blended well with cheeses and meats. It was, in a word, divine. My sister got the gnocchi, which were quite yummy. No dessert, we were completely stuffed when we were done with our meals. The atmosphere is casual-chic and relaxed. A short drive off of Rt.450 from Rt.3 sits Nonna Angela's Italian Restaurant. My wife and I saw a billboard display for this gem of a restaurant while attending a Chesapeake Baysox baseball game and after checking out their online menu, we opted to make it our dinner destination to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed! Our friendly server Adrien P. started us off with a basket of bread rolls to dip in a shallow dish of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) mixed with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic Cloves along with drinks, a glass of Prosecco for my wife and a glass of Merlot for me, while we contemplated our appetizers, and after mentioning the specials for the day, we decided to try one of those: Fried Green Tomatoes, along with a listed Antipasti option: Mozzarella Caprese. Our server Adrien P. fell into a pattern of responding with "Awesome!!!" as we told her what we wanted. She wasn't wrong, both dishes were presented well on the plate, and delicious. For the entree round, my wife selected the Pollo Limone (chicken with Angel Hair pasta) and I ordered the Trio Italiano (a combination of Lasagna, Stuffed Shell, and Eggplant Parmigiana). I continued with the flow of Merlot wine while my wife switched up to Chardonnay wine. The entrees were equally delicious. The service was swift and while crowded, the decor of various art works and pots and pans and rollers mounted on the walls, along with low operatic music really lent to a very charming dinner experience. We finished off our meals with two Tiramisu Martinis and a shared Cannoli - both of which were, to borrow Adrien' catch phrase: Awesome. The waiter was completely inattentive and my husband had to get up and get the water to refill our water glasses. My first time here, and DANG what a treat! The pasta is amazing...and cooked Al Dente just as we'd hoped! (No over-cooked pasta for this girl!) The two gentlemen bartenders were an amazing team. I arrived right before happy hour ended. I got the Crab Bruschetta app since appetizers are half off. It took 20-25 mins to get it, not sure what happened to my order. It arrived after my pollo parmigiana. I did not make a fuss over it, I just kept it and ate it. The bread was kind of hard & burnt. It didn't satisfy the craving I thought I had for it so I will pass next time. To drink, I started with a limoncello martini which was very tasty & had a glass of Riesling with my Dinner. The Pollo Parmigiana was so good. I wish I was able to order it with the angel hair pasta & veggies since they allow you to do potatoes & veggies if you choose not to order the pasta. The decor is above the standard Italian restaurant. We sat at one of the booths in the bar area. Our waiter was AMAZING! He was friendly and personable. One of our appetizers came out late so in ensured we got the happy hour price for it. We ordered the Mozzarella Fritta, Insalata di Cesare, Gamberi Gondola, Cream of Crab soup, for our appetizers. We shared the stuffed shells. The food was amazing we enjoyed EVERYTHING! For our drinks we ordered the limoncello martini and a glass rosé. Both were delicious. Nonna's is a solid spot that I've visited several times with friends and colleagues after business events, and it never disappoints. The servers are always nice and pleasant, making for a welcoming atmosphere. Although it is a popular place (especially on Saturday nights), so we usually make a reservation for our large group, about 20 people, well in advance. They seat us comfortably in the back corner at two tables, which works out great. While the atmosphere can get a bit loud due to the crowd, it's not overwhelming like a sports bar, making it still enjoyable. The food is solid Italian fare. I've stuck to safe choices like the Spaghetti and Meatballs and Salsiccia Rustica, which have been great for my picky palate. They also serve ginger beer, but you must ask for it since it's not on the standard menu. The bathrooms are clean but small, so just keep that in mind if you're a large person. Located in a strip mall, there's ample parking and other businesses nearby. I always enjoy the area, which is conducive to a peaceful post-dinner chat outside. read more

I was hoping for a better balance of pasta and seafood- it was very heavy on the pasta side and light on seafood. This didn't seem to be the case with the seafood lasagna at all.
