Been there several times and Pretty consistent with their food and service it's great

Terribly disappointing; we won't be back. Both the service and the food were unacceptable. My wife and I had lunch there today. Before we'd sat down, the waiter was trying "to start us off with calamari'. Is it a special or on the menu? What's the price? Who knows, because he never said. Fortunately, who cares, because neither of us likes calamari, and this was just lunch. I asked what beers they have (spoiler -- just a handful and not very good ones) and the waiter tells us that he likes beer because he's German, but he doesn't like schnitzel or sausage or other German food. Like I care, but I happen to love many German dishes so thank you for trying to make me feel like someone who doesn't know good food from crap. Bottom line on the beer: the Peroni had gone off from sitting too long so it was a $8 Corona for me. Another bad sign of things to come was that the waiter had to keep going back to the kitchen (fyi, we were the only customers) to talk to the "chef" who only spoke Spanish. So much for the hype of this being the restaurant of an Italian chef. Of course, the owner/chef can't be there all the time, but good Italian cooking requires some facility with that cuisine, and there was no evidence of that in our meals. My wife loves chicken parm, which was a special today, and what she ordered, with extra sauce. I ordered penne ala vodka. Mine arrived and I was stunned to see the dark orange sauce, which didn't look like any vodka sauce I've ever had. Didn't taste like them either -- way too sweet for one thing. The chicken strips were like bits of leather, and I left them, along with half the penne. The wife's chicken parm was another disaster. She could not eat any of the chicken, or whatever mystery meat they served; there was no sauce on the Angel hair pasta, and no sign of the extra sauce -- for which they charged $2, but didn't tell us there'd be an upcharge. The cheese on her parm was also inedible -- the kind that you chew and chew like it's bubble gum and can't swallow. She basically had some Angel hair pasta and I basically had some penne. When he took our almost-full plates away, the waiter ignored my comment that my chicken was inedible. When he brought the check, he wished us a happy rest of the day and said he was glad we'd come in. I told him that made one of us. Will never be back. read more

This area of town needs a decent Italian restaurant. We were hoping this might be one but sadly, the food was horrible. The chicken in my Parmesan dish was dark gray, rectangular and the consistency of rubber. The thin layer of batter was soggy and falling off. I took one bite-which was a challenge with a butter knife-and had to spit it out- it was inedible. It was truly not even recognizable as chicken. It looked like the mystery meat in a Marine barracks. On the positive side, our host/waiter/bartender took $8.00 off the bill. Also, on the positive side the accompanying linguine (while totally sauce-less) was very nice. I was expecting something upscale and authentic here given the information on the website about the Italian chef. I saw no evidence of any passion, expertise or commitment to quality here. I am shocked that they get good reviews. read more

The restaurant has a wonderful menu and the food that comes out of the kitchen is quite good. Some choices they have made are excellent balanced quality silverware, excellent service, and for the most part, delicious food. 2 complaints though- there should never be anchovies on a salmon carpaccio salad. Dish was overwhelmed by the anchovies. The whole dish was fishy tasting and ruined. The miniature bread served is a sweet focaccia that has no place in a restaurant. No rosemary or flavor and the texture of crumbling corn bread. Keep it in the back and don't serve it. The napkin it was served in was soiled so it was even less appetizing. read more

Nobody was more pleasantly surprised by the excellence at Robiolina than were my wife and I last night. From the knowledgeable, friendly and experienced wait staff (Lee was our server) to the stupendously good food, this is the first restaurant in Edgewater we've been to that is worth the drive (ok, it's 20 mins, but still!). At Lee's recommendation we started with the calamari, which is served with a fra diavolo dipping sauce. The breading was fine, but the tenderness of the calamari was uniquely remarkable..and even the greens on which the calamari was served were scooped up to the last bite. For our entrees, we had the gnocchi and the NY strip. The strip was perfectly cooked, well seasoned and actually a bit marbled, which was a pleasant surprise. But the star of the show? The gnocchi, by a mile. Zero exaggeration that it was the lightest and most delicious gnocchi either of us have ever tasted. Had the rest of the meal gone poorly we STILL might have returned, just to have this one dish again. Fortunately, the rest of the meal was outstanding, so a return trip is absolutely guaranteed. The location in a mall is a little off-putting as you enter, but Annapolitans food lovers know that some of the best restaurants in the area (Jalapenos in Annapolis and Arturo's in Glen Burnie) are in strip malls. Once inside the door, that 'quick serve restaurant' feel is immediately forgotten, and the occluded glass that erases a parking lot view is a big help. We all remember the great dining experiences in life. While this may not quite live up to that level, the food (and especially the gnocchi) absolutely does, and you'd do yourself a disservice if you didn't give this one a try. read more

The food is very good, not the best Italian food I've ever had but very good. The dining room is very attractive. But the level of noise makes it very difficult to eat there if you want any conversation at all. If they want that extra star they need to deal with that. read more

What an amazing restaurant and amazing service. It's rare you find a place so well rounded. Wait staff and management were awesome. Ector is the man! He was so attentive and personable. The manager was amazing. She came to the table and apologized for not greeting me as soon as I came in, as she was tied up doing something else. Where do you get that anywhere else. The food was AMAZING! It exceeded my expectations and more. Started off with bronzino carpaccio, which I have never had. Wow, the presentation and taste were something else. It had a spicy oil and balsamic glaze which paired extremely well together. I don't normally get fish when I eat out because it's never cooked to my liking. For my main entree I got the Chilean sea bass special. Don't think I have ever have had fish cooked so perfectly. By far, the best seafood entree I have had at a restaurant. I even told Ector to tell the chef I commended him on dish. If I found one slight flaw (and that's a harsh word for it), it would be the homemade sangria. It was more of a spritzer than a sangria, but even that tasted amazing. So much so I ordered 2! Just think they should change the name or call it a sangria spritzer. Just being picky there. An absolute must try, if you haven't been. The food was so good I forgot to take pics of my dishes, sorry! read more

I will be honest I wasn't expecting much because it's located in a grocery store parking lot, but this place far exceeded my expectations. I should have took pictures, but it was so good I forgot. My son and I were greeted right away and seated just as fast. I couldn't figure out what to order so for a starter got the crab cake and mozzarella appetizer it was so good. I got the pasta with the calamari, mussels, shrimp, and scallops the sauce was amazing. My son got the Fettuccini Veal dish very good. The bread with the olive oil was a great addition. The service is excellent and the ambience is nice. Next time I am in the area I'll have to bring my other kids I'm sure they will love it too. Nice new edition to the neighborhood. I believe this place has been open for roughly three weeks. It's pretty quaint but the space has been very nicely maximized. There is a small bar area and TV. Not overly decorated, but that was fine. Our server was great. He was very attentive and very eager to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. We got the grilled Mediterranean octopus for our starter. It was served on top of arugula, shaved fennel, and a citrus dressing. Absolutely delicious. The octopus was extremely tender and the peppery bite of the arugula with the light vinaigrette were perfect compliments. Chef's kiss! For our mains I got the Pansotti Ravioli it was filled with crab meat, squid ink infused and came with a vodka cream sauce. Just ok. Pasta was a little more al dente around the edges than I would have expected. The center was soft, so I'm guessing the edges were much thicker. Although it was filled with crab the texture was there, but I didn't get the taste of crab. It wasn't a unpleasant, but just didn't have the flavor of seafood. The vodka sauce was very good. He got the pan seared pork chop with a balsamic reduction. It came with whipped potatoes and spinach. Totally overcooked and dry. However, the reduction was very nice. The ratio of the sides to the protein in my humble opinion weren't equal. Nice sized entree with a dollop of sides. All in all I think this restaurant has great potential. I'm excited to check them out in a few months and brag about their growth. read more

We have not eaten-in but have tried takeout twice. The food has been very good both times but Penne allá Vodka was bit mild for my taste; I preferred the Spaghetti with Lamb Sausage. I really enjoyed the Lamb Shank Osso Buco, however. The Grilled Chicken showed on the online menu but not on the printed menu in the restaurant. They prepared it anyway and my wife enjoyed it. (The staff is aware of the issue and is working on it.) I found the staff friendly and attentive while I drank a glass of wine waiting for my dinner order. In my opinion, the ambiance is pleasant but not fancy. OTH, as I said, we didn't eat in the restaurant. read more

Four of us met at Robiolina Amore for dinner last Saturday night. The restaurant is clean, decorated nicely, relatively small, in a strip mall and has plenty of parking. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. The menu is limited, which I prefer, and has elevated items. Everything we received was very good. I travel for business often and dine at many types of restaurants including Michelin starred locations. The food here would stack up well against major city Italian. We all agreed that we would return again and soon. The only negatives, other than being in a strip mall, were that the beer selection was limited and they do not know how to make a good Manhattan. read more

Lost a star due to staff discussing weekend plans in the kitchen that I could hear from my table. Music was a bit too loud for my liking but, that's my opinion. My friend and I had lunch. The menu was reasonably priced. There was a good selection of salads priced about $10. I had the beet salad with fennel. Delicious! The carrot-ginger soup was also good ($10). My friend had salmon with cream caper sauce which he enjoyed. Service was prompt and attentive and the atmosphere was enriched by relaxing music and a soothing decor. Overall an enjoyable dining experience. I plan to visit again soon. read more

Nicely appointed restaurant. I would feel comfortable casual at the bar and yet food and service are special enough for a celebration. Our server Stephanie was very helpful, professional, and attentive. The bread basket was mixture of baguette and focaccia served with olive oil. Focaccia was super light and olive oil was straight from the tree! Our food was delicious and cooked perfectly. I had the lamb chops with blueberry sauce, garlic mash and Brussel sprouts. My husband had the fettuccine bolognese. Both were full of flavor and meals were well balanced. Feeling lucky to have such a great place so near by. We will be frequent flyers. read more

This restaurant is a nice little hidden gem. The food is fantastic. I had their bolognese, the sauce tasted like it had been simmering all day. My husband had their papperdelle which was very creamy and flavorful. The pasta had just the right bite. The salad could have had more ingredients in it but it was fresh. We ate here on a Wednesday night. The food was very good. I had squid ink fettuccine with clams in a wine, garlic butter sauce that was excellent. My husband had the duck breast and said it was very good also. Our server Stephanie was professional, knowledge and did a great job. We will definitely be going back. The only down side is it is small and it got very noisy. Maybe a noise screen between the bar patrons and the dining room would help. We dropped in on spur of the moment after seeing the good reviews. Found out they were almost full and had several reservations coming in. The hostess seated us at the bar and we were very glad did. The staff is friendly and take good care of you. They did a nice job of constructing a great atmosphere. Don't let location fool you in not going here. The food was excellent . Got takeout from here today! Everything's delicious. Family especially enjoyed the penne vodka and rigatoni with meatballs.

We enjoyed a Lovely dinner - everything was delicious. The calamari was fresh, the grilled Caesar salad was uniquely presented and excellent. We ordered two pastas - the pappardelle with chicken and mushrooms could have been a little more al dente but was still quite good and the squid ink with clams special was delish! Tiramisu was also excellent. They definitely need to work on ambience - lighting needs to be lower and more intimate and white table cloths would make the room so much more elegant. Right now it feels like it doesn't quite know what it wants to be - the food is leans toward high end (bit fairly priced) but the ambience says Sports Bar. I say we have plenty of sports bars in the area but no elegant dining options. With a few small touches you will be filling a huge void in Edgewater. Go for it! We will be back often if you pull it all together. We are rooting for you! read more

Quaint and nicely decorated restaurant in Edgewater shopping center. Group of 4 older people came for dinner on a Friday evening with a reservation. The place was bustling. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. We had fried calamari and prosciutto - both fresh and delicious. Ordered a bottle of the Pala Centosere - a dry red - yum. Dinners included lamb shank, lamb ravioli, duck, and risotto. All dishes were perfect portions, presented well and very tasty. The tiramisu and crème brûlée was creamy and delicious. There were plenty of wait staff for an early Saturday evening and everyone was nice. The table for 2 was small, so clearing your plates promptly was a necessity. The food was very good and though the entree size was almost adequate (veal), the size of the sides was skimpy and the bread portion was small (you order more, you will be charged). read more

Just finished my first dinner at this lovely restaurant and it did not disappoint. It is the best food in Edgewater - hands down! The prior location has been upgraded to a bistro style with a little bar. Every single thing my husband and I ate was perfection. The bread basket featuring a crusty Italian and a melt in your mouth focaccia served with high quality olive oil was a wonderful start. We next had the calamari that I heard was great and it did not disappoint. Super light and crispy without any chewiness and a hint of spice with fried jalapeños. I loved my veal scallopine and the sides were not an afterthought but equally well thought out. The gnocchi was the standout. Little puffs of perfection like I had never experienced. Crème brûlée and ricotta cheesecake for dessert were wonderful. The service was also quite good. Perfectly cleared plates with new silverware for each course was a nice touch. I was happy to also be able to compliment the chef, and he was delightful. We will definitely be back and hope that this little gem has the success it deserves. read more
