The Italian wedding soup was amazing! The octopus was good, but very tough to chew. The bread and olive oil bought out en gratis was, oil delicious, bread delicious, after it was softened in the oil for a spell, otherwise I was concerned about my teeth breaking. The bartender, Chris, very professional, but served me dark & stormys in little rocks glasses. He didn't have a clue that everywhere else in town will serve a proper portion in a pint glass. He didn't think to ask. Maybe he doesn't get out much, or enough to notice? He also has no idea about what's being served in front of him. The mussels we tried to eat were rancid. My lady and I have been consuming this local delicacy for probably 35-45 years, individually, not combined. Chris said that they came in that day and that's all he knew, but you'd think the kitchen would have noticed the smell? My husband made a very last minute decision to host a small birthday party for me at Della Notte on a Thurs night in January. We had 11 people and the staff was super accommodating and since we sat in the bar area, our server was the bartender, Jane. She grew busier at the bar as the dinner went on but kept pace with our drinks and food with lightning speed. AND lively banter. Except for my husband and me, none of the others had ever been there before but they all agreed it was a great pick! Lots of comments about the homemade meatballs, the chicken parmesan, the mushroom risotto to die for, one of the gnocchi dishes, and my Cosmopolitan that everyone wanted to sample because it looked so good ( and was). New Italian restaurant in CSC!! Nice to have another great restaurant option that is not a franchise. Between this, Broadneck Grille, Blue Rooster and Nagoya the center has some great options for all tastes. We've only been once thus far, but service was prompt, friendly and the food was great. My mixed drink was made with care and served in a pint glass without me even having to ask! There is something here for all Italian tastes, a few sandwiches and a beautiful bar area. It's definitely worth checking out. They also have a Gluten Free pasta option which is nice for those that need it. I was told it is the same owners as Carpaccios on West Street. So, you'll find a very similar menu but it's less fancy which I think is better for this strip mall. You have a lot of families stopping in after school sports are over, so it's nice people can come as they are and also enjoy great food made with care. Looking forward to coming back again. For Mother's Day we tried to get reservations at Carpaccio's but nothing available. We decided to give their "sister" restaurant a try which is located in Cape St Claire and made a reservation for 7 pm through Open Table. The food is similar to Carpaccio's, but what brings the star rating down is the service and overall management of this location. Walked into the restaurant at 6:55 pm and the host was talking on his cell phone, didn't acknowledge us and continued his chat. Strike one. After waiting 20 minutes for a server, a shared Bistro salad took almost 30 minutes to arrive (and request the dressing on the side as the salad is soaked in their dressing). Waited for our order of Baked Lasagna and Eggplant Parmigiana dishes that was placed at the same time for the Bistro salad took another 30 - 40 minutes to arrive. We realized the dipping sauce for their rustic bread did not have parm and requested from three different bus staff or alternative servers since we did not see our server again for quite some time and this simple request for parm was not delivered for 20 minutes (and too much Balsamic Vinegar in the dipping sauce, overpowers the rustic bread, and needs red pepper flakes). I lived in Italy, I know my stuff. Yes, the place was busy for Mother's Day dinner but was not staffed to accommodate the influx of business. This is a cute lil place tucked away in a strip mall. I came here with some family on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. We started off with an order of arancini balls and a Caesar salad. The arancini balls were delicious. For entrees, I ordered gnocchi al forno with vodka sauce. The gnocchi was really good but the vodka sauce could use a little salt. My fiancé ordered the chicken parmesan. The chicken parm portion is huge- you get two breaded chicken breasts and a hearty serving of spaghetti. It's pricy for our neighborhood and the ingredients in my chicken parm had obviously spent a lot of time in a freezer. The server was gruff but courteous. Could do without the gruff. I doubt if the owners know how many restaurants have occupied their space in the center of our town over the last five years. Why pay top price for flash frozen food one could make better at home? First the ambiance was awesome. Great lighting, fireplace, music, table spacing. Second the staff was impeccable. The whole experience felt like family (a good family;). We had steak roles appetizer; amazing, tasted like Philly steak in crunchy rolls. Bottle of wine, Shirley temple, and old fashioned; very nice, and professional wine service. Water was good (crystal glasses), and kept full. The main course: steak risotto, gnocchi with sausage added, kids pizza, kids tenders and fries, side of sautéed spinach with truffle salt. Mostly Everything was great; risotto a little bland but well cooked. Dessert was Crème Brûlée, amazing. $200. We all agreed we want to go back! I really wanted to love Della Notte, but unfortunately we had a pretty rough time trying this restaurant out for the first time and have had friends with similar poor experiences. We came on a crowded night with two adults and a toddler and they were able to squeeze us in without a reservation, so I was thankful for that. After being seated, our service from our server was good. It was crowded, so he also seemed very busy but he was friendly and we were trying to be flexible. We ordered two appetizers and our daughter's kids meal (2/3 were from the fryer). After about 20 minutes of waiting, we were told it was coming. After about 40 minutes and a crying hungry toddler, we told them that we had to leave. We tried to settle up, but just as we agreed to leave the food had come and they boxed it up. We told them that we didn't want soggy appetizers by the time we got home, but we would take and pay for the kids meal for our daughter. They did graciously tell us to just take it. We tipped our server since this was not his fault. When we got home, the kids meal was two very small chicken tenders and it was not that great tasting at all. After this experience a few months ago, we have not been back. We did try Carpaccio in Annapolis which has a tie to Della Notte, and I would highly recommend that instead. read more

Out of the way OUTSTANDING FOOD! The cream of crab was delicious with plenty of bite sized crab meat pieces. The crostini was served with an amazing oil, balsamic, and cherry dipping sauce so good, I had to use a spoon to capture all I could. Completely inedible! The calamari was absolute rubber and tasteless. My Alfredo was so bad, I couldn't eat it - no flavor whatsoever. They must use a canned sauce. Geez, at least shake some pepper on there. My daughter had lobster ravioli - also must come from a frozen source. Save your money - go elsewhere. read more

My son and I came here to celebrate his college graduation. While we were first there (early on a Thursday night) it wasn't busy at all. Our waitress, however, was already overwhelmed. We ordered the calamari appetizer which was delicious. The bread and dipping balsamic were also very good. Our menus were still on the table, and we were not looking at them anymore. We kept trying to make eye contact with our waitress to order our entrees, but she was oblivious. While our cat and mouse with the waitress was happening, a table of three lovely ladies were being courted by the manager/owner? He couldn't get enough of them; it was extremely awkward and cringy. You could tell they were very embarrassed by it. When she finally came back to the table she asked if there was anything else she could get for us (WHILE THE MENUS WERE STILL ON THE TABLE)? It was hard not to laugh out loud when I said, "We haven't even ordered yet." Our food took forever, but not once did the manager/owner come over to speak with us. He was very busy wooing (he thought) the ladies with wine. Food was ok'ish. Chicken parm and lobster ravioli. Being a glutton for punishment, I really wanted a dessert martini. I ordered it while table was being cleared (the waitress said she would box up our uneaten food-we were sure she forgot to do so because it wasn't being brought back out). FINALLY, after glaring at Mr. Over-The-Top with the flirting, I told him the drink I ordered, pointed out my waitress, and made it clear EVERYTHING was very slow including this final request. You'd think he'd apologize, offer a coupon, or bring the drink himself. Nope. We spent $104.00 for the two of us. While the menu has a vast array of delicious sounding dishes, and the ambiance is lovely, my son and I agreed Spizzico has better food, better service, and better prices. This was my second time trying Della Notte. Unfortantely, this meal was not enjoyable or memorable. I went on a Thursday evening and was greeted and seated promptly. They offer a complimentary wine tasting Thursday - Sunday. The person leading the wine tasting was friendly and welcoming. He happily switched out our wine for a full glass of the one we sampled. The bread served with the meal was warm and tasty. However, the dipping mixture for the bread was heavily overpowered by the balsamic vinegar. My companion and I ordered the Arancini Rice Balls (3) as an appetizer. The rice balls were a good size for sharing; however, they lacked flavor. For entrees, we had the lasagna and shrimp scampi. The center of the lasagna was cold. When we mentioned this to the wine server, he said it was not the first time he heard of that complaint. Additionally, the sauce the lasagna was served in tasted and looked like it came straight from a can. The shrimp scampi was also disappointing as the tomatoes were tough. The scampi sauce lacked depth and garlic/Italian seasoning. Based on my recent experience, I will be checking Della Notte off my list for good. read more

Just picked up two chicken Caesar salads to go, got home to find neither had any Caesar salad dressing. Got charged $35. Called to complain and was told I would receive a 50% refund in a few days. Person I spoke to said it was the second time it happened this evening. Will stick with Spizzico and their very generous chicken Caesar for $14 each...and yes, it comes with dressing. read more

Very underwhelming for the price. My pasta dish was so salty I couldn't eat it. The sauce was not flavorful at all nor spicy. The Caesar dressing was very thin and runny. Della Notte performed a miracle this Saturday at my retirement party. The Caterer that I had hired originally did not show up for the event I had to find someone last minute. We go there all the time and love their food. I called them up and within two hours they were they catering my event. I could not have been so thankful for their response, understanding for the situation, and just their ability to be flexible. The food was amazing as always their service was impeccable and it just shows how they really support our community here in the Cape. They brought me to tears and it made my event so much more special. They will have a place in my heart for what they did to help. 10/10 read more

After I ordered drinks at the bar and I asked why are you ok? He said you and your friend came in here and walked past the bar and went to the back. We try to support local restaurants, but 3 strikes and you are out. Too much competition to be flippant about your service and food quality. My husband and I arrived around 5:30 pm on a Monday to enjoy a birthday dinner out. Waited too long to be greeted and seated. Keep in mind, business was slow. This was a Monday evening. Waited too long to give our orders. When we were finally able to give our orders, we were told that the appetizer listed on the "Specials" hand-out was not available. We should have been told that when given the menus. We ended up doing an appetizer dinner of oysters rockefeller, calamari, lentil and sausage soup, and a glass of wine for each of us. We asked for our soup first and to have the other items come out later as our main meal. Soup took forever. I'm assuming it was already made and just had to be ladled into cups. Then, strangely enough, the other items which we wanted later, came out before our soup was finished. The oysters were horrible. Not sure there were oysters under all the soupy topping and they were overcooked. Calamari was just okay. Soup was the best item but weak on the sausage. We won't be back, partly because of the quality of food and partly because of the service we received. Our tip reflected that. We are tired of paying too much for poor quality food and service. Our visit prior to this involved selecting their outside seating, which is supposed to be smoke free environment. Another guest came out and proceeded to smoke and ruin our meal. Again we went to Della Notte and the food was outstanding. Three different meals and we were all 100% pleased. Our server was Matt and he was perfect. We can't wait to go back . Ambiance was a little lacking but the excellence of the food and service made up for it. Maybe tablecloths would soften the noise and create more ambiance. Out reservations at another restaurant got messed up. We called Della Note in a panic and they found us a table for 7! Not only did they save the day, but the food was amazing. The chicken Parmesan the meatballs appetizer were great! To top it off the atmosphere is great with dark colors and pictures of Italian vineyards. The prices are also reasonable! This could be an excellent restaurant with some fine-tuning. We were there on a Saturday evening and it was very noisy. The music was very loud and the people talking over the music made it worse. Half of the restaurant seems to be a sports bar with several TVs making it even noisier. The waiter was attentive and helpful. The problem was it took about one half hour to get our main courses after we had finished our cheese plate appetizer. BTW, no one offered to explain the cheeses in the charcuterie board. The waiter apologized several times for the wait explaining it was busy but that's not an excuse if you have a well managed kitchen. The Pappadelle Bolognese was delicious once it was received. The veal Parmigiana was meh. We did not have dessert since we had waited so long for the main course and because the noise was deafening. read more

My wife and I went to Della Note last night (a Thursday) at about 6:00 p.m. There were many open tables, and we were seated immediately. By the time we left an hour and a half later, it looked like just about every table was occupied. Our server, Jacob was terrific and very attentive and relaxed, even when he had multiple tables; he was knowledgeable about the food and drinks. and had great suggestions. We started with Oysters Rockefeller, and they were terrific. We got two entrees and shared them: Pappardelle Bolognese and Lobster Ravioli. Both were very flavorful, and the pasta was fresh and perfect in texture. The serving size is large, so expect to bring home some leftovers. We didn't have wine, but had a couple of martinis (lemon lavender, and caramel rumchata); like everything else, they were tasty. Della Note is a great addition to the other restaurants in Cape St. Claire; we'll definitely be back. read more

It wasn't bad but definitely would hesitate before returning. The food was a bit bland...so so at best, and for the price of the meal I would have expected better service and a better "feel". I think it has the potential to be better but as of now, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend and I certainly wouldn't take any visiting family or friends there.
