The server was knowledgeable and if he didn't know the answer to one of our questions (as first-timers), he found the answer for us. All of our dishes were on point! The website states "From Farmer's Hands To Ours. It Starts With Local, Fresh Ingredients". Certainly, that statement shined with the execution and taste of our dishes! Our party of 4 ordered Smoked and Brined Chicken Wings, Fried Oysters, Spinach Salad with Blackened Chicken, Greek Salad with Shrimp, Bone-In Pork Chop (blackened, with Korean BBQ Cream, Corn & Pepper Saute, and mashed potatoes), and the Bistro Steak. Every thing was enjoyed by all! Seasonings were well-balanced, Food was tasty, salads were fresh, and portions were very decent. The Harvest Smash dessert is amazing and should be ordered! On May 14, 2026 I patronized Harvest Thyme for lunch our server was Melissa Guests #2 (40004): Our family has been dining and patronizing Thirsty Lizard and Harvest Thyme for over 14 years. We have celebrated many familial milestones/celebrations and professional accomplishments @ Harvest Thyme. The nostalgia of the servers and ownership has often felt engaging and alluring to me and our family & friends. My dining experience this afternoon was a far departure from the 4 stars standard experience of years clearly in the rearview. Items Ordered - The Bibb & Blue side salad was drenched in bleu dressing; I shared my concerns with our server whom was void of any response and acknowledgement. Items Ordered - 6oz Steak Frites ordered rare; The steak was served beyond the desired temperature. I waited for the server to return to our booth and I cut in the 6oz again to visually demonstrate the temperature of the steak actually arrived was definitely rare minimal/ to no pink was detectable. Our server said she would send the manager over momentarily. Once the manager arrived, he inquired about the entree and I shared and demonstrated for the 2nd time. I returned the steak frites and ordered the Beggars Pasta and added am additional Beef protein. That the conclusion of our meal as we noticed that we were charged for the entree that was returned. I inquired further and was giving a $15.00 gift card (I was charged $25.00 for an entree returned due to overcooking) by the Manager and was told "Thats All YOU get" and that the policy of the restaurant is if you order a dish you have to pay for it. When I inquired, he stated that's all you get!! I was offended as a patron, a human being, and a citizen electing to choose Harvest Thyme in a national wide affordability crisis. $127.00 for lunch is UNACCEPTABLE for lunch especially for an entree I did Not consume. No one communicated the policy beforehand nor does it seem to lineup with industry standards. $15.00 does not cover the cost & tax of the returned entree. I scoured the Harvest Thyme website and the receipt and I did not find such a policy. We were appalled by the lack of professionalism, posse, tack, empathy from the manager. His behavior and demeaner were absolutely inexcusable. Once we departed the restaurant, it was clear and present that I was upset as I retreated to my vehicle. A fellow patron encouraged me to directly communicate with ownership regarding my experience. Further research revealed the drastic decline in glowing reviews related to staffing, dining experiences, and culinary standards. Why were we treated so poorly at 1pm on a Thursday? We typically love Harvest Thyme, good food, neighborly atmosphere, unfortunately a recent Saturday night dinner left us wanting. The bolognese was delicious as always but the catch special was poorly executed: overdone fish, not really blackened and seemingly grocery store 2 shrimp added. And, yes, for $40. we did expect more. Also while we've dined fairly often, we did not realize there was a corkage fee. As we were looking at bottles- would have been nice if our server had reminded us. I've gone back to Harvest Thyme Tavern many times since my first experience and just let me say, I've thoroughly enjoyed the food and service each time. The food is cooked to order and always fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and the staff are always happy to answer questions, make recommendations and alter dishes when possible. I recently had a repast here for 15 people and I pre-ordered the food for family style dining and everyone was elated about the quality of the food and the selection. Their favorites were the pasta dish with the pear and ricotta in a delicate sauce (a house speciality), their pizzas and the bison burger. Just aaamazzing! The interior is unique and provides a quaint vibe. I look forward to hosting another gathering soon. I'll start by saying that it was my fault for not asking the price when the server told me they had fillet mignon available. But based on the pricing of other items on the menu, the casual family neighborhood restaurant vibe (think: kids, uncovered tables, shorts and flip flops, people from the bar walking around with wine glasses, country music, etc.) I assumed a steak dinner might be in the $40-$50 price range. So I was a bit surprised when the bill showed $96 for the steak. With two non alcoholic drinks, a salad and desert, the tab for dinner for one was over $130. The food was good (after I sent the steak back for additional grilling as it was originally served well seared on the outside but luke warm in the center. In light of having a huge dinner bill, I found it particularly petty that they charge a 6% "to go fee" for bagging my desert. An additional irritant is their statement on the bottom of the check that they will automatically adjust the gratuity to 18% unless you first complain to management of "problems". Having been a server for 4 years during my earlier life, I customarily overtip significantly, as I did in this case. But I seriously resent a restaurant telling me that I have to tip at a certain rate, unless I make a complaint. How about folks who tip in cash? How about folks who are not satisfied with their service, but don't want to make a formal complaint? And lastly, their check form says that "all lost cards will be destroyed at the end of the day". I guess they got burned some time but this is a ridiculous policy. When I recently left my credit card at another restaurant, I discovered it the next day, called the restaurant and it was being held in their cash register for me. That's what most people would expect. So, the food was good, the ambience too noisy but tolerable, and the menu had lots of options. But their policies and pricing were a definite turn off. read more

Wow.... this place hasn't just gone downhill, it's fallen off a cliff. Ate here for Mother's Day 2026. The food was absolutely terrible and the service wasn't any better. This place has such an old-soul charm that immediately makes you feel at home, yet with a creative and modern twist on its dishes that will keep you coming back. I have my favorite spot here--the cozy little reader's nook tucked to the left of the bar area. It's the perfect hidden corner to relax with a book and sip on a well-crafted Old Fashioned during happy hour (CHEAP). The vibe is so calming, and the mix of classic and contemporary makes it the ideal spot to unwind. This last visit, I had the calamari, and let me just say--it's different. Fried in cornmeal, it offers a totally unique crunch that's different from the usual breaded version. It was a fun surprise and totally delicious. Happy hour is absolutely worth it, especially if you're stuck in horrendous traffic like I often am--this has quickly become my go-to spot for a quick but satisfying break. Had a very up and down experience at Harvest Thyme. My wife and I showed up on time for a 730 reservation and were seated immediately - not empty, but not necessarily bustling. We ordered shortly thereafter - lamb lollipops cooked medium as an app, and pork chop/crab cakes for entrees. The appetizer did not arrive for approximately 45 minutes, and it was quite disappointing when it did. Several of the pieces were cooked medium rare to rare instead of medium (when I cut into my first bite, pink pieces of undercooked meat got stuck in the grooves of the knife), and they were not particularly flavorful. We didn't finish it and, to the restaurant's credit, they took it off the bill without us needing to ask. It took another 15-20 mins for our mains to arrive. When they did, they were both very tasty and cooked to order. We had a gift card, and likely will not return to pay out of pocket for the prices they charge. We could tell all of the servers were stressed and doing their best, but especially with the long wait time, drink refills and check-ins were not as frequent as I would have liked. read more

The food was good, but the service was slow. We waited 45 minutes for or calamari appetizer to arrive! The waitstaff seemed like they were always busy, but seemed understaffed for the crowd size. I had an amazing pasta (beggars bags) dish with prosciutto. So good! Their Panzanella Salad was also very good, though the croutons were not home made, but resembled what you would stuff in turkey dressing! Not usual for this type of salad. Well a few minutes later someone came up behind me and put down a small container of extra sauce, it just wasn't enough if I hadn't got the chicken on it it would have be perfect. Everything about this restaurant is excellent. The owner (chef) and his wife personally make it around to everyone's table on some nights. Your order is always perfect and comes in a timely manner. They have a rotating "Specials" menu and they pair it with beer or wine. The first "greetings" one receive at this restaurant are a disclaimer (and they are repeated on the bill, in case you missed them) on the menu, are: 1. No adjustments will be made if you do not like your food; descriptions are on the menu. And 2. Industry standard gratuity is 18%; unless you inform management "in advance" of a "problem, your gratuity will be adjusted for you." Whaaat? I have never been to a restaurant anywhere and been greeted with two warnings. No matter how pleasant the atmosphere, how courteous the service, nor how tasty the food--I will never return here. Was looking for a happy hour spot that would be great for a friend traveling down 50 towards DC. Found this place on Yelp and had to try it with all the great reviews. We were both excited about their happy hour menu and crushes that were on the happy hour menu on the website. We both were running late. I pulled up around 6:53 and inquired about happy hour. It is only at the bar and outside. Thankfully there were two seats at the bar and I quickly scooped them up. The restaurant was packed and a little warm but nothing unbearable. Alessandro was our bartender and worked with us to quickly order some items from the menu. He was friendly and provided great suggestions! Unfortunately the crushes are no longer being offered but they had some other delicious cocktails. I got the pomegranate Prosecco punch and it was delicious. I have enjoyed drinks and pizza at the bar on many occasions with friends because I love the atmosphere, ambience and service. However, today I can't give much of a positive rating on the meal. My food came out luke warm and was very tasteless... cheese wasn't melted, spaghetti was very lump, clumped together and sauce was extremely bland for chicken parmigiana. My significant other ordered a porterhouse steak that was extremely fatty with a significant amount of tough gristle, Needless to say he was very disappointed and unimpressed stating that he wouldn't return for the steak special. This is a convenient and pleasant restaurant. We have eaten there many times. Generally it is fairly quiet, unlike so many other places. Wait staff is attentive and share responsibilities for efficiency. The menu is good but limited and gets kind of weary if you are a repeat customer. The cooking area is open to the dining area, which is interesting to watch. But twice when we've been there one of the managers had barked orders at the kitchen crew in view and hearing of the customers. That is at odds with the pleasant atmosphere where staff seem truly working as a friendly and competent team. read more

Harvest Thyme is a hidden gem! I kept seeing the ads in our church newsletter and I was finally able to try it recently for a date night. First off, this place is date and family friendly! The parties are separated nicely so kids and adults can enjoy themselves! Our waitress was so amazing and because it was our first time, she raved about the chef and the restaurant's focus on boar. I've never had boar before and let me tell you - it is not gamey and tastes delicious, especially if you eat it at Harvest and Thyme. The meat was soft, flavorful and delicious! Our waitress recommended a wine to go with it (I am bad at names and I remember the flavors) that enhanced the flavors of my meal. So so good!! Then I topped the meal off with the homemade apple pie with ice cream! So good! They make seasonal desserts but I am under the belief that you can't go wrong with apple pie, a classic. Did I mention that everything is made in house? The owner welcomed us to the restaurant and mentioned they also sell alcohol - who knew?? This place is a must try for the ambiance, service and food!! Great neighborhood spot that is a diamond! Celebrating New Year's Eve tonight with my friends and neighbors and the restaurant had a special menu which was every bit mouthwatering from appetizers, including pork, belly bites, two brie cheese, two lamb, lollipops, and barbecue shrimp. So many more choices, but the New Year's Eve menu was a gem. My lemon herb chicken for me was a 100% home run however, my friends ordered the Chilean Seabass and I really believe that was the best presentation of the night! The mushroom risotto served with my lemon chicken was impeccably and slowly made. The expected richness and creaminess was there, and the flavor was also! The flourless cake is always a hit with my friends and served with creamy vanilla ice cream. The cookies and cream cheesecake was also a hit, and there was no dessert left at the end of the night! A wonderful local spot for New Year's Eve when you just aren't that person that wants to go out too far from home. The owner came over and greeted us and talked with us about 25 minutes and they also serve bottles at excellent prices of various liquors wines and whiskeys. We were intrigued by your concept, from wild game dinners to reputable winemaker circuit pairing events, and we enjoyed a delightful conversation with your son, who proudly gave us a tour of your spirits collection in the back. We were impressed by the wide selection of wines and spirits available for sale, including some items that were not locally available elsewhere. We thought to ourselves, "What a nice place with all the charming accoutrements for us." We were thrilled! Despite the inconsistencies with the food during that first meal, we forgave them, thinking, "That's okay. They must know better." There was a blueprint for an elevated experience at your establishment. We spoke highly of your restaurant to our friends, neighbors, and family, eagerly anticipating our next visit. And it's worth noting that we truly enjoyed the staff, especially the bartender. So, when we returned for our second dining experience, we were full of enthusiasm and high expectations. We started with a martini, which was perfect and served by that same wonderful bartender. Our server was lovely and extremely accommodating. We were very happy! Then came the food. With each dish, I felt a tinge of disappointment because I genuinely wanted to enjoy every bite. Unfortunately, each dish fell short--there was something off about each one. It felt as if someone was trying too hard and missing the mark. Despite this, I continued eating, pretending to enjoy the meal for the sake of my dining companions and hoping to capture the essence of what I believed your restaurant was all about. We even asked if we could have the mushroom risotto, which was the only part of the entrees that was good (the accompanying airline chicken was a dated trend and unappealing), as a standalone dish during our next visit. We were still making an effort to like your restaurant! And then came dessert, the grand finale. The flourless chocolate cake was delicious. It was exactly what we had been searching for--it was great! We finally had food to celebrate! However, our satisfaction quickly turned to disappointment when we received the chocolate gelato, which was frozen solid like a brick. Who needs a fork to eat gelato? We foolishly asked for a fork to break it apart rather than refuse the dish. Because I so wanted to believe in your restaurant. And because we want to believe in the promise of your restaurant we politely shared our disappointment with your son. Who never came back to the table and laughed when I discussed with him when leaving. He did however apologize for his rudeness. So I do thank him for that. This seemingly small-- yet telling incident, in retrospect, foreshadowed our overall disappointment and was a glimpse of your pattern of unimaginably unprofessional and crude behavior. I am not someone who leaves reviews let alone negative reviews or even reads them, but after my encounter with you, I felt compelled to read what others had to say. And guess what? Your negative reviews were not isolated incidents. They were not anomalies! They are each consistent with your poor attitude and behavior. Your negative reviews mirrored my own direct experience when you went to great lengths to verbally assault me outside of your restaurant, harassing and berating me. Perhaps if you directed all that energy and effort toward improving the inside of your restaurant and took some anger management classes, especially as its owner, your establishment might actually fulfill the potential we saw that first night.
