Well...I finally made my way to this spot and I can say not sure if I would be back. Now the location is only about 10 mins from my house and has potential.... I got here around 4:45 and it was empty. I was the only person there from the time until I left around 7pm. There was a couple that had came in but they left quickly without ordering anything not sure why but they were out in about 10 minutes. There was only one waiter who informed me the bar tender would be in around 5:30 but she didn't get there until around 5:45. She did make up for it with a on the house lemon drop which was really good! So I ordered honey lemon wings and jollof spaghetti with shrimp. Now the wings and blue cheese were so hot and tasty!! But the jollof rice tasted like spaghetti with some bland sauce on it and shrimp tasted fishy not good at all. So the waiter suggested I order oxtail, plantains, and coconut rice which I ordered which I did. Everything but the rice was good. The rice didn't have any coconut flavor and was like some type of veggie rice concoctions. I would not recommend the rice, jollof spaghetti even the broccoli which was cold when I received my food. The restaurant is set up real cute and artsy but the food options need to be upgraded. And I did not like they charge a 18% gratuity on your bill even if you are by yourself. The restaurant was completely empty when I left so not sure how they are staying in business unless the crowed comes after 8pm. The only saving grace was the lemon drop was really good and the rum punch! Other than that besides the wings, small oxtails, blue cheese, and plantains I would not recommend. Also go during happy hour save a little bit but you still will get the 18% gratuity....smdh read more

I can't say I was pleased with my visit, but this place has potential. I arrived 40 mins after the restaurant opened this past Monday and it was completely empty which was a little surprising. I sat at the bar and was told they were waiting on the bartender but the manager (?) could make margaritas or lemon drops. I chose margaritas and while they actually were pretty good, the limited options were a little disappointing. I really enjoyed the Honey lemon wings (on the happy hour menu) and calamari, and I wish I could have tried the Suya bites but they were not available. Apparently they take an hour to prepare? I'm not sure why but I was sad I couldn't have them. I would possibly visit Bistro 64 again (for the wings), but absolutely at a different day/time. I attended a Mother's Day event at Bistro 64 and the service SUCKED! The doors opened at 3 :05 pm and we ordered my food at 3:15 pm and left at 5pm... guess when we got our food....Never, the food never cane. I got the run around, I was lied to, the server never came back to see if we got the food, I was told there was no manager on site, only to find out the Manager was there. Nobody apologized at all. I will never attend this place again nor do I recommend anyone attend an event at this place. They are not equipped to handle a full house. Needless to say my Mother's day was ruined. Went here for a chill bar night on a Friday . It was chill . Drinks seem to be a little high priced . Overall a good quick spot to meet up. Seems to have a plumbing issue . it had that bathroom sewage smell. read more

Excellent calamari, beef suya, and Cajun pasta with salmon. Flavorful good portions. They open later in the afternoon, but worth it..

Two friends and I met up for happy hour. We arrived around 5:30pm and we were seated right away. It's really nicely decorated inside. The music started off a low volume, but got a little louder as it got later. Dashay was our server and she was pleasant. We ordered a rum punch, lemon drop and a Long Island. My friends said the other two drinks were better than the rum punch. We ordered honey old bay, garlic Parmesan, and curry wings with truffle fries. One friend ordered a burger with fries. Honey old bay: really good Garlic Parmesan: good Curry: they were out, so we couldn't try them Burger and fries: she was disappointed it didn't have all the toppings she asked for (she opted not to re-ask for them since it took a while to get the burger) however, she did say it was ok. Truffle fries: never came, so we canceled them and just got the check The only downside was the food was slow to come out. However, it wasn't relayed to us and we had to inquire. Around 7:15, we were told by security that it was a 2 hour table limit and we would have to leave soon. We did see the sign on the wall, so we were aware. The only issue I had with the time limit is we wouldn't have even come close to the limit if the food came a little quicker. That was something out of our control and probably should be taken into consideration. Overall, it was not a terrible time and once the kinks are worked out regarding the food, it will be a really good neighborhood spot. The interior is modern and gives a lounge feel. It has an open ceiling design. There are high top tables when you first enter near the bar area. Along the wall on the left side is the booth seating. As you walk further back towards the stage, is where the regular table seat is located. It's a Tuesday night and I was greeted at the door by security. Then to the hostess stand for seating. I ordered a lemon drop, sautéed cabbage and a bistro burger with cheese. I asked if they had bacon and was told this is a pork free establishment. I have not received any of my order yet. Still waiting. Tuesday night is karaoke night with the Experience Band. All is well so far. Shout out to Vicki for being so kind and welcoming. I really appreciate it. I went to Bistro 64 on a Wednesday for karaoke and happy hour so I was mostly there for just drinks although I did order a side or fries to snack on and they were delicious and hot. The interior is much nicer than the exterior of the building. From the outside it looks like a hole in the wall but it is nice and renovated inside with cute decor. I will have to grab a pic of the inside when I go back. The waitresses were mostly attentive as I was in a big group but a few of us did have to go to the bar to get served. Fun Fact about the karaoke: it is karaoke to a live band and they will only play the songs they know or are in the book. Also, you need to know the song because they don't have the lyrics scrolling for you. It ends up being hilarious but a definite need to know if you think you're going to regular ol karaoke. Also another fun fact: shots were at least $25 each. My friend was mad as hell. read more

My favorite new neighborhood spot is a vibe. Our server Nikki always greets us with genuine love. Literally everyone that works here brings positive energy. That's why I keep coming back. I appreciate the safety check at the front door. let's be honest this isn't the safest area but I am a home owner in the neighborhood and I ain't going nowhere anytime soon...so to go to a safe lounge, with good food, good music, and good customer service is a welcome oasis. I know that this restaurant/lounge is in its soft opening stage, therefore I think that providing honest reviews are helpful. I went here on a Friday night looking for a quick bite to eat with a friend after attending an event. The ambiance on the inside is ok. The colored lights are a nice touch adding to the lounge vibe. However, the music was entirely too loud. I was sitting directly in front of my friend and I could not hear them. It was almost painful, so I opted to take my food to go. The service was fast and the food was ok. I got the fish sandwich which was nicely cooked and dressed. I would like to try other menu items from here, but will either call ahead and pick it up or go during the day. Love to support our black owned businesses! read more

So this is a neighborhood spot in District Heights so don't go in expecting the DC Wharf or National Harbor. If you level set, you won't be disappointed. I went for Tuesday Karaoke with a live band. The band was great and had tons of energy. A couple people tried their had at singing but of course the band was best on their own. The outside is not special. there is a parking lot so that was good. Inside, it's decorated with art from local artist and I LOVED that. I looked at the pieces and even thought about buying a couple. The drinks were fine. I wasn't expecting much so they hit just fine. If you are looking for a finely crafted cocktail in a neighborhood spot in District Heights, you are looking in the wrong place. The food was fine. I had the quesadilla and it tasted fine. There were a few items sold out on the menu so options were limited. Remember this is a bar and not a 5 star restaurant. This place was a full-on vibe. Black people are having a good time. No drama, no confrontation, no attitude... what I got was potent drinks, DJ that was spinning, and no problems taking requests. The owner is cool af... GO ARMY., works hard to keep B64 clean and safe, and was enjoying himself just as everybody else (all while making money and getting paid). I want that job. Sasha cool af keeping the hookah going and Sky, who kept the bar hydrated... yeah, security was there to pat us down, but it's District Heights (no offense DH'rs), they are just keeping us safe... Went to visit the location to have drinks and dinner with my sister during the late-night happy hour on a Wednesday. I don't normally go to bars that want to check the inside of my purse but here I was. My sister and I sat at the bar. The young lady that worked there was very nice, so I gave the place a star because of her pleasant demeanor and the beautiful artwork. When we sat down the bartender said she would be with us in a minute. OK ....cool. It was 4 minutes to 10:00pm and that was when the late-night happy hour started. We asked what the specials were, and we were told she did not know but the board of specials would be out soon. My sister looked it up on Instagram to get the specials. There was about 8 people in the spot including us. I saw as much staff as I saw customers. There was the front door security, two people in the kitchen and about 4-5 people to provide some sort of customer service or lack of (host, server, bartender.....). An employee came out of the kitchen with a plate of food and I asked what he was eating and was told it was not on the menu. Even the staff does not want to eat the food on the menu I suppose. When we asked one of the servers her favorite drink was, she said the rum punch. The bartender said they did not have any left. We were at the bar. The bartender could not make a rum punch? We sat at the bar watching the bartender chat, eat chicken wings and drink for over 15 minutes without asking what we wanted, or the board of specials being displayed. We got up and left. So, this review is strictly for the poor customer service because we never ate or drank at this establishment during this visit. read more

I just had dinner at Bistro 64 and the food was AMAZING!! Ihave gluten sensitivity and the waitress, who was on point with the service, took the time to point what I could choose from. I ordered the sauteed carrots and the fish and red potatoes for my entreè. Everything was SO delicious. The portions are so generous too . I recommend everyone dines at Bistro 64, you will not be disappointed. The beautiful art on the wall is a big plus too. I love and appreciate some good art. I'm going back for the live band on Tuesday night, I heard about it but haven't experienced it yet, so I'm looking forward that. read more

I think it's closed - out of business. I drove past there twice on 2 different days and no cars in the parking lot.

Worse place to dine!!! Stop trying to be "fancy" and just cook the damn food!!! Truffle fries....where? No truffle and after asking the waitress to take them back they still came back out without truffle. On a second attempt, I requested to have fresh fries with the damn truffle....the chef told the waitress I would gave to pay for a fresh batch. After 2 attempts to get it right, I have to pay additional?!?!?!? WOW!!! No silverware or Napkins except from requests made 2 times. 5 people at the table and she only brought 4 sets of eatware...really?!?! Then requesting salt n pepper we were brought out salt and pepper in the little containers u put dressing in which means u have to be a chef and pinch up the season and toss on yur food. Patrons next to us were actually given a salt n pepper shakers....hmmmmm 1 and done!!! Black ownership gotta go better....period.
