I have so many places to review so I'm trying to catch up! I came here in August 2026 which I've been wanting to stop by forever since I seem to be in the area all the time. So after leaving The ups store next door I decided to stop in. I walked in was greeted and it's a pretty decent size restaurant. I do like that on the outside they can open up the bar and you can sit. But I opted for sitting inside. The menu has quick a few options and I was there during happy hour which turned out to be good pricing. I was being a big back and ordered the charbroiled oysters that were on the happy hour menu and a nice size ribeye steak, broccolini, and Mac and cheese. And when I tell you everything was cooked to perfection it was so good! As the pictures show it was a large portion and I had a lot of leftovers for my lunch door work and then some. This restaurant is not good. Out of stock food. We were the first people there on a Saturday at 11:00 on the dot. They did not have any croissants and they did not have any cocktail sauce (for the fried shrimp that they put on the seafood trip salad). Service was uneven. When we sat down, we asked for water and a carafe of mimosa. The mimosa came within four minutes. It took us another 15 minutes to get water at our table. The servers were very nice and friendly and professional. But maybe just new because they didn't seem to know to refill water glasses. I got their famous seafood dip as a starter. The chips were great. The sauce was not. As the cheese dip cooled, it developed a weird consistency. The flavor was off as well. Maybe it needed some seasoning salt and some pepper. The cheese flavor was odd and there was not enough spinach in it. The chicken wings were good. Good flavor (not spicy at all!!). Average sauce. Good dipping sauce on the side. The utensils were weird. It is strange to wrap actual silver utensils in a paper napkin instead of a cloth napkin. I did not like that. I also did not like that the side condiments came in plastic containers as opposed to small dishes, either porcelain or metal. The seafood trio salad was not good. The salmon and the crabcake tasted horrible. The shrimp was fried and I t needed more seasoning on the shrimp. The salmon had a mealy consistency to it and the flavor was bad as well. The crabcake was not good. Whatever was binding it together was also not good. The salad dressing was OK. There are figs or dates or some kind of dried fruit in the salad that I was not expecting because it was not on the menu. So be aware of that. This was a disappointing experience. read more

While briefly passing through the D.C. Maryland area, I wanted to try something new. I searched for a nearby crab cake spot, found this place less than a mile away, and decided to check it out and grab some takeout. The atmosphere was definitely the highlight. It was cozy, relaxed, and perfect for cocktails and conversation. The service was also friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was pretty mediocre and fell short of expectation. I ordered the seafood spring rolls, blackened scallops, and crab puffs, but NOTHING really stood out. Of the three dishes, the scallops were the only item I would consider ordering again. We decided to check out this location prior to the R&B tour. The location was prime because it is close to the stadium. Also. I wanted to check out the brick and mortar after eating from the food truck for years. The brick and mortar did not disappoint. The food was truly delicious. I ordered the fried catfish with the sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes. The food was seasoned to perfection and the cocktails were definitely potent also the service was top tier. Very attentive staff and great customer service. The ambiance is a really dim vibe, laid back and chill. In addition to the catfish, we tried other delights such as gumbo, seafood spring rolls, island, pasta, and the charbroiled oysters. Great suburban meet up and hang out spot! I was surprised to stumble on this place and meet up with some friends for a happy hour. I came here to meet up with some friends for a quick happy hour and a few appetizers. The drinks were strong, and the food was really fresh, good! I tried the crab balls and the blackened scallops. I was quite impressed on how fresh everything was and how the food was prepared, including the presentation. The food was on point, great, and the drinks are top-notch..... a winner! Well seasoned seafood eats, and the like...like chicken tenders and main big dishes....like grilled salmon plates, broiled fished and salads. I tried the crab balls and blackened scallops. Both dishes were super fresh and really good...most of all seasoned. The crab balls alone was loaded with lump crab meat. I only wish that they included 3 crab balls instead of two considering the price. Other than this, I highly recommend a stop or visit here. Disappointing to say the least I've seen this spot in passing many of times and it's always packed with people and lively. Today in particular it was barely anyone in the restaurant. I asked if I could sit in the rounded booths as they seemed very cozy compared to where I was seated (2 other patrons were in that section) however the host told me she had blocked it off due to business being slow, cool. I ordered oysters (charboiled) and jerk wings as an appetizer to share, as well as their lampchops with a caesar salad and Brussels sprouts. The jerk wings were good. The ambience would absolutely be what takes this place to the next level would recommend to Come for a drink but anything further is a no. My waiter was amazing! I tried this spot out for happy hour and definitely enjoyed it. Has a great indoor outdoor field little patio nice bar that kind of wraps around to the outside. I tried the jerk wings, the crab and spinach, dip, seafood, egg rolls, and about three drinks. Service was great when they were out of certain drinks they had really great recommendations for different options. If you've read it my other reviews I'm always concerned about parking so love going somewhere where it's very easy for me to find a parking space so I can get right to be happy hour. I would definitely recommend going. Prices are very reasonable. Drinks were about $10. Food had options from $7 to $10 as well. read more

This was my first time and I was very impressed. The decor was wonderful. I ordered the crab dip and seafood eggrolls. The crab cab sauce was very good with eggrolls. I did expect them to be a tad bit bigger. The crab dip was excellent. Very tasty and not a lot of mayo. The flavor was robust. I ordered the shrimp basket and my sister ordered the shrimp po boy. Both were very good. I will definitely be back. I was also impressed with the manager cleaning and checking on customers. I've loved this spot when they were just a food truck. Salmon fries will always be my go-to! Now this location, like the VA one, is very tight space wise. It's hard to not feel like you aren't going to bump into someone's table when trying to get back. But the food was delicious. I was sad the oysters came out after our entrees but no complaints in the cook at all. My and a couple of friends were looking for a spot in the area that had crab dip so we tried here. The place is very cute but is super small. The staff was very friendly. I had the lamb chops Oscar style. They were pretty good. My friend had the lobster pasta, it was like an Asian Lo mein style pasta , but it was really delicious. The spring rolls were pretty good as well. The star of the show was the crab dip. It was so good that we got a total of three orders of it. We only had three appetizers and 2 drinks. There was about four people behind the bar all of which kind of ignore the fact that you're sitting there. We ordered and the wrong food came out after an hour. By the time the right food came out I tried eating so fast I didn't take a picture. A girl was starving! Food: Crab & Shrimp Spinach Dip - 6/10.. it was ok but missing something to make it pop. Maybe pretzel bread would be better than the tortilla chips and the flavor of the dip was mediocre. Crab Cake Sandwich Stacker - 6/10.. this was another mediocre meal. There was nothing about it that really made it memorable. It tasted like any other crab cake that you could get from anywhere. It could have used some more old bay and they could have put more sauce on it. Drinks: Sunset Beach: 8/10.. this drink is great for those who love something sweet and not overpowered by alcohol. Blueberry Smasher: 10/10.. just the right amount of alcohol and flavor. For those who want to try something but not into the sugary drinks. Made a last minute reservation for Mother's Day weekend and was surprised they had something available. My mom, daughter, and I visited for brunch/lunch and arrived around 1pm. The bar was full but they had plenty of open tables. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant is small but cozy with a nice kind of boho theme to the decor I really liked it. I wish I could remember our server's name but she was amazing. There were so many good options on the menu it was making it very hard for us to choose. But she offered some really great suggestions and we loved everything we tried. We started with the seafood spring roll and the crab and shrimp spinach dip. Both were delicious but that spinach dip had me ready to order a second one. My daughter was scrapping the bowl. They have a wide variety of flavored lemonades I tried the passionfruit and my mom got the white peach they were tasty and not overly sweet. Now on to the entrees I had the Brunch Lamb chops which came with breakfast potatoes and eggs. The lamb was seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly. I usually hate breakfast potatoes are restaurants but these were chef's kiss. Seasoned well and cooked fork tender. I added a side of collard greens just to try and they too were also very good. My mom had the catfish dinner and added crabcake too it. She said she loved the catfish but would probably skip the crabcake next time. My daughter had the cinnamon toast crunch French toast with fresh fruit and let me tell you that is probably the BEST French toast I've ever had. It was so good. So I recently ordered Crab Cab to go for lunch. I placed my order as soon as the restaurant opened, so when I arrived the food wasn't ready, so I grabbed a seat at the bar and waited. The inside is really nice, dim, sleek ambiance, perfect for a date night, or an intimate meal. The hostess came out from the back and informed me that one of my items would not be ready, and allowed me to pick another item to replace it. Now the food. The seafood egg rolls are tiny. But for $6 I shouldn't have had big expectations. They're simply just mini spring rolls with shrimp and I believe salmon inside. They came with a creamy sweet Thai chili sauce, which was ok. Those get a 7/10. The Mac and cheese side was enough for two people. But it was good. Creamy, seasoned, rich. 8/10 the brussel sprouts had a honey glaze on them that didn't seem to stick to the sprouts, so they lacked flavor 6/10. The stuffed salmon was cooked well. The crab stuffing on top was tasty, and I enjoyed that. 8/10. So overall I'd give this spot an overall 7.5/10. I'd like to go back for happy hour and see how that is. read more

I had no idea this hidden gem was in Capitol heights. The vibe gave Bohemian/ minimalism and I LOVED it. It felt as if we were on vacation. The indoor/ outdoor bar was an added bonus. We ordered two dishes-Fried catfish with Mac and Brussels and lamb chops with Mac and broccolini. The fried fish was great! Flavorful and a healthy serving. The lamb chops could have used more seasoning. I think the Brussels had more of a sweet component than savory. I prefer a balance, but delectable nonetheless. The max was tasty but there was a bed of butter seeping through after my first fork pull. A little les butter and the Mac and cheese is a great side dish. Overall, the food was fair- the fried fish really was the star of the show. I also ordered crab egg rolls (not pictured) because I ate them too fast. But there wasn't much crab in there . Literally would not have known it was in there had I not pulled it apart. Lastly, the service. Our guy was kind. It just seemed like the drinks and Oreo cheesecake took a while to come out. You walk in and you're a little surprised on how nice looking this modest sized seafood restaurant is, given its somewhat random location. I'm a light guy and this spot has the coolest lights. It's like they used me to pick them out.. Lol. The rest of the decor matched perfectly. Crab Cab did all they could do with this small space, it even has a decent sized bar, so two thumbs up to the architect! This particular day and unfortunately it was our first time here, service was a bit off. It took forever for our server to greet us. It was busy but it wasn't THAT busy if you know what I mean. If I'm the owner I'm PISSED because you know what they say.. You never get a second chance to make a first impression!! :) On to the food. Other than the charbroiled oysters which were amazing, my lamb chops and her crab topped salmon were both underwhelming. My chops were the 4 smallest chops that I can ever remember having and they weren't that good. Came out luke warm and the taste was just ok. The crab on top of her salmon was I guess their crab cake which had just as much cake as crab. Just add crab meat when topping off the salmon.. Trust me, you'll get a better response. I'm always looking for new spots to try in the DMV, and if I were a stakeholder, I'd head to Krab King in Upper Marlboro. Out for a bit of Sunday globe trotting...Brunch at the Crab Cab. We saw when the place first opened and said then, we will have to try the place out. We were surprised they had a brunch menu. Everything from Burgers to Lamb chops. The place is mid size, not very huge inside...actually quite intimate. Variety of drinks from yhe bar and a broad array of mimosas to compliment lunch. I had the lamb chops as my main meal I requested the chops which came with eggs and potatoes. No egg whites were available, the potatoes were ok...seem like they may have been pre cooked and left on a heater to stay warm...lukenwarm when they arrived. I requested the lamb medium cooked...overall, there 5/6 chops on the plate....the cooking of the chops were uneven, I ate two which were ok, I had to leave the others on the plate ...rare versus medium. The service was outstanding with the waitress offering to redo the lamb. The ambience was light banter with soft background music. The Bronzini was the winning dish, it was well presented and tasted fantastic. read more

It wasn't until a gentleman yelled to the bartender's and yelled out our table number. He gave eye contact and stated someone would be with us. As we sat waiting, my significant other noticed a female with long hair in the kitchen touching food. That was off putting, sanitation people! Ew! When the bartender finally came over she was scripted. You know when you can tell people love their jobs and want to be there, yeah, this was not the feeling! Let's Get Into It! Charbroiled Oysters - Met Expectations- Good! Lamb Chops - Met Expectations- Good! Salmon topped with Crab - Met expectations but the topping of crab was more like a crab cake. I am a fan of nice places being added to my neighborhood. This place is located in a fairly popular shopping center (with limited parking). The parking and some of the table placements inside are odd. They are making a small space work for them. Outside of parking and a few odd table placements, I LOVE this place. I ordered the lamb chops, brussle sprouts, and mac & cheese and it was GOOD. I came here with my bestie since we both live close and wanted to grab dinner. We shared an order of seafood egg rolls as well. I was impressed with it all. This place isn't cheap so it's not an every day occurrence for me, but I will be frequenting the establishment. The good: 1) The food was awesome; I had the seafood spring rolls + shrimp po boy. The spring rolls, along the accompanying dipping sauce, were the starts of the day - I'd get those again for sure. The po boy had good flavor but they do see to do a "deconstructed" po boy. The flavor and cook of the shrimp was good but I wish they had build it as a more traditional sandwich. The seasoned fries that came with the po boy were PERFECT. 2) Ambiance and atmosphere. Great spot for small families, couples, or singles of all ages to grab a bite. They had some nice RnB playing and I appreciated the elevated feel of the spot 3) They offer brunch! Several options on a weekend brunch menu (11-3p Saturday/Sunday). Could totally see myself trying that. Could improve: 1) The outside seating area was a little stuffy (on a sunny Saturday afternoon). The weather was pleasant out, but we could've used a ceiling or standing fan to create some airflow. 2) Service was a little on the slower side. Okay so first things first, the parking lot. I'm going to just go ahead and say it... it sucks. Crab Cab is located in the middle of a shopping center, including a Starbucks, with a fairly heavy drive-thru, and other stores including USPS and Mezah - spots that typically only need 10-15 minute parking. So upon arriving, parking is a little hassle. My friend, her son and I arrived around noon on Saturday and were seated immediately. Within the hour and a half that we were there, seating FOR SURE changed to a heavier amount. This weekend in particular must've been a hot weekend because there was at least 2-3 different birthday parties (tables of more than about 6). And understandably, the music/vibe in here also give very much... celebration. Now, again.. the place is cute. The server's are fairly attentive. But let's also mention that "fairly attentive" is a loose-statement because that 18% gratutity, is included in your bill. Not really sure if I can blame the numerous birthday tables present, or if the restaurant was just that slow, but it did indeed that our table of two and a child, nearly 45 minutes to get our order of fries, salmon lunch special with two sides (her broccolini was wilted), and catfish lunch special with also, two sides. For the wait, the food was not worth it. The spinach seafood dip came with some pretty impressive chips that I think are made in house. But overall, I don't think I would return to Crab Cab. I will start by saying the restaurant is beautifully decorated! The parking lot can be a little tight depending on the time you go. I had two experiences so I'll discuss both. I went in on a weekday, and was able to check out the restaurant it wasn't too busy, staff was friendly and the food came out in about 15 mins. The food was great. I went back a second and ordered carry out and the portions were definitely smaller than what you get when you eat in. Almost like they were just throwing the food in the box because it was busy. Personally whether I am ending in or not I expect the same service and definitely the same amount of food because the price does not change. Overall, the food was pretty good but this is a place I would only eat in at if I go back. I do encourage you check your food prior to leaving. read more

Where do I start? Everything was tasty. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside at the bar to enjoy Happy Hour. We started with drinks, both delicious and well balanced. (S/O our bartender). The manager also saw me recording content and offered me some of their shrimp & grits and OMG...it was the best. I'm not a fan of shrimp & grits at all but I'd go there and order that as a meal, delicious. Then we ordered a bunch of food from the HH menu. Faves: The seafood oysters were delicious. They were cheesy and full of seafood pieces. We ordered the full order and not from the HH menu and I'm so glad we did! We also ordered the crabcake sliders & the crab spinach dip which were both good! Not so faves: The shrimp basket & catfish bites were fried nicely but weren't anything special. They tasted how you'd expect them too. I wasn't a fan of the fries at all (I consider myself a fry connoisseur) but they tasted air fried. All in all, I can't wait to go back for maybe brunch next time or HH again. read more
