    Crab & Shrimp Spinach Dip
    Dominique M.

My and a couple of friends were looking for a spot in the area that had crab dip so we tried here. The place is very cute but is super small. The staff was very friendly. I had the lamb chops Oscar style. They were pretty good. My friend had the lobster pasta, it was like an Asian Lo mein style pasta , but it was really delicious. The spring rolls were pretty good as well. The star of the show was the crab dip. It was so good that we got a total of three orders of it. I also had the triple b cocktail, if u like lavender I will love it. For dessert I got the strawberry crunch cheesecake and that was really good as well. Overall this is a great choice.

I visited on a Sunday afternoon post brunch rush because this place is always super busy for brunch! I knew exactly what I wanted the seafood trio salad which was so delicious I'm telling you this salad has salmon, fried shrimp, a mini crab cake with craisins and tomatoes, it was exactly what I needed in my life. The food is always seasoned well and service is top tier. Ashley is my favorite bartender, her drinks are always on point. Come visit if you're thinking about, you won't be disappointed.

Made a last minute reservation for Mother's Day weekend and was surprised they had something available. My mom, daughter, and I visited for brunch/lunch and arrived around 1pm. The bar was full but they had plenty of open tables. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant is small but cozy with a nice kind of boho theme to the decor I really liked it. I wish I could remember our server's name but she was amazing. There were so many good options on the menu it was making it very hard for us to choose. But she offered some really great suggestions and we loved everything we tried. We started with the seafood spring roll and the crab and shrimp spinach dip. Both were delicious but that spinach dip had me ready to order a second one. My daughter was scrapping the bowl. They have a wide variety of flavored lemonades I tried the passionfruit and my mom got the white peach they were tasty and not overly sweet. Now on to the entrees I had the Brunch Lamb chops which came with breakfast potatoes and eggs. The lamb was seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly. I usually hate breakfast potatoes are restaurants but these were chef's kiss. Seasoned well and cooked fork tender. I added a side of collard greens just to try and they too were also very good. My mom had the catfish dinner and added crabcake too it. She said she loved the catfish but would probably skip the crabcake next time. My daughter had the cinnamon toast crunch French toast with fresh fruit and let me tell you that is probably the BEST French toast I've ever had. It was so good. Overall, loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Food was delicious and service just as great. Look forward to coming back to enjoy some nice weather and food on their patio.

I would give 3.5 stars if I could. My overall experience at Crab Cab was positive. I came for happy hour and the prices were great. It is a cute restaurant with a cozy, but chic interior. I also loved their playlist! The music was a vibe. My server was also very friendly. As for the food, I enjoyed the calamari because it was tender. The brussel sprouts were also tasty. The crab cake sliders were okay and the chips that came with the crab and shrimp dip tasted a little stale and needed salt. The drinks were strong. I have heard the Alexandria location is better and I definitely want to try that location.

This was my first time and I was very impressed. The decor was wonderful. I ordered the crab dip and seafood eggrolls. The crab cab sauce was very good with eggrolls. I did expect them to be a tad bit bigger. The crab dip was excellent. Very tasty and not a lot of mayo. The flavor was robust. I ordered the shrimp basket and my sister ordered the shrimp po boy. Both were very good. I will definitely be back. I was also impressed with the manager cleaning and checking on customers. Our server was Erin, she was very nice, however one suggestion, do NOT grab customers glasses over the top. Your hands should be around the bottom of the glass.

I've loved this spot when they were just a food truck. Salmon fries will always be my go-to! Now this location, like the VA one, is very tight space wise. It's hard to not feel like you aren't going to bump into someone's table when trying to get back. But the food was delicious. I was sad the oysters came out after our entrees but no complaints in the cook at all. Also service was a little behind because the bartender had customers at the bar and still had tables, like mine.

I won't make this long, I'm too irritated with the place! First, placed an order for pick up, asked if the shrimp could be removed from the crab dip, since I'm allergic. I was told it could then when I went to pick it up the waitress said she made a mistake. Then get home and aside from food leaking all over the bag I find this metal (maybe bread tie?) piece in my food which basically cut the inside of my mouth!

Yikes . As almost ALL the reviews state, the service was TERRIBLE. My husband and I got there around 4pm on a Wednesday with very minimal people there and left around 6:30pm. We only had three appetizers and 2 drinks. There was about four people behind the bar all of which kind of ignore the fact that you're sitting there. We ordered and the wrong food came out after an hour. By the time the right food came out I tried eating so fast I didn't take a picture. A girl was starving! Important part - Food Crab and shrimp spinach dip: 7/10 Seafood oysters: 4/10 Crab cake stacker sandwich: 6/10 per husband Drink: South Sunset: 8/10 Blue berry smash: 7/10 Ambiance: Actually a nice place. Small but cute. Unfortunately I will never be back because of service.

The place is small but beautifully decorated. It's an outdoor/indoor space and seems like a good place to go if you want to catch a little vibe in your local Upper Marlboro area. This ain't DC, so let's all tailor our expectation of vibe . This place does have potential to be a spot where the older crowd or young professionals gather just to chill or to just hang with your significant other. You are going to want to make sure they got your order correct. They messed up on my wife and I order and had to come back to use to take it again. Food: Crab & Shrimp Spinach Dip - 6/10.. it was ok but missing something to make it pop. Maybe pretzel bread would be better than the tortilla chips and the flavor of the dip was mediocre. Crab Cake Sandwich Stacker - 6/10.. this was another mediocre meal. There was nothing about it that really made it memorable. It tasted like any other crab cake that you could get from anywhere. It could have used some more old bay and they could have put more sauce on it. Drinks: Sunset Beach: 8/10.. this drink is great for those who love something sweet and not overpowered by alcohol. Blueberry Smasher: 10/10.. just the right amount of alcohol and flavor. For those who want to try something but not into the sugary drinks. Honestly, the drinks are what is making me rate this place a 3 over a 2. Overall, the experience was meh. Service was slow, we almost got double charged for a meal, and got the wrong order first. On top of getting the wrong order first, the food was so delayed that the woman who came after us, looked over and said, "dang, you all were before me and haven't ate yet." It's just starting out, so maybe they just need time to find their footing.

Food was good, prices were reasonable and the drinks were tasty. I had the lobster egg and cheese croissant and the French toast. My food could have been hotter (temp) wise, but it was all very tasty. The French toast didnt even need syrup. The blueberry mimosa carafe gave us like 3 drinks each! Very warm, friendly and attentive staff, clean and simplistic decor. The 90's and 2000"s RnB was a vibe. Will return!

Stuffed salmon & honey glazed brussel sprouts.

So I recently ordered Crab Cab to go for lunch. I placed my order as soon as the restaurant opened, so when I arrived the food wasn't ready, so I grabbed a seat at the bar and waited. The inside is really nice, dim, sleek ambiance, perfect for a date night, or an intimate meal. The hostess came out from the back and informed me that one of my items would not be ready, and allowed me to pick another item to replace it. Now the food. The seafood egg rolls are tiny. But for $6 I shouldn't have had big expectations. They're simply just mini spring rolls with shrimp and I believe salmon inside. They came with a creamy sweet Thai chili sauce, which was ok. Those get a 7/10. The Mac and cheese side was enough for two people. But it was good. Creamy, seasoned, rich. 8/10 the brussel sprouts had a honey glaze on them that didn't seem to stick to the sprouts, so they lacked flavor 6/10. The stuffed salmon was cooked well. The crab stuffing on top was tasty, and I enjoyed that. 8/10. So overall I'd give this spot an overall 7.5/10. I'd like to go back for happy hour and see how that is.

Lamb Chops Mac & Cheese Brocolini

I had no idea this hidden gem was in Capitol heights. The vibe gave Bohemian/ minimalism and I LOVED it. It felt as if we were on vacation. The indoor/ outdoor bar was an added bonus. We ordered two dishes-Fried catfish with Mac and Brussels and lamb chops with Mac and broccolini. The fried fish was great! Flavorful and a healthy serving. The lamb chops could have used more seasoning. I think the Brussels had more of a sweet component than savory. I prefer a balance, but delectable nonetheless. The max was tasty but there was a bed of butter seeping through after my first fork pull. A little les butter and the Mac and cheese is a great side dish. Overall, the food was fair- the fried fish really was the star of the show. I also ordered crab egg rolls (not pictured) because I ate them too fast. But there wasn't much crab in there . Literally would not have known it was in there had I not pulled it apart. Lastly, the service. Our guy was kind. It just seemed like the drinks and Oreo cheesecake took a while to come out. The manager comped it for us, so there were no complaints there. They were checking in on us to make sure we were ok which is why I will definitely be returning for a date night. Drinks were tasty.

Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

The restaurant is nicely decorated with vibrant colors and very clean. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food was okay. Not bad and just good in my opinion. Its not rave worthy but its still good. I would come back and try other options. This is still a good healthier option oppose to the many of terrible choices we have to choose from, this beats most unhealthy fast foods restaurants. For that reason I would return to try other food options. If you like chickpeas then this is your meal, Im not so it threw off the salad to me. I would have preferred chicken. Honestly, everything came together nicely as one salad, nothing was over powering. I'm just not a fan of chickpeas. They do have an option for shrimp but dont eat bottom feeders so that wasn't an option for me. My tastebuds are much different from yours so I would still give it a try. You might like it a little more than me. Its still a fairly good meal.

They do a lot of carry out business but the dumplings are so much better if dining in and fresh out of the kitchen. We were informed that our food would come out as it was ready. This worked fine for us. Absolutely no complaints. Cucumber salad and edamame were excellent sides to enjoy while we waited for longer menu items to come out. Forgot to take photo of the Mongolian beef so photo is just of my tasting. Dumplings were amazing. Daughter pulled up video of how to eat soup dumplings while we waited. The spoons were smaller than the dumplings but I found I could suck the soup from the top of the dumpling before biting into it which helped avoid losing the broth (careful, they are served HOT temperature-wise) Loved the truffle dumplings. I have also had the sampler which I recommend if you are new to the place (1 each of 6 different soup dumplings). The green beans and kimchi chicken dumplings were seasoned nicely and were enjoyed by all as well. Service was super. I have already been back twice, once for carrot and again for dine-in. However, my experience revealed a significant disparity between the stated purpose and the actual atmosphere created by the owner. The irony: The event was a documentary, discussion, and supporting the vendors who came. During the discussion portion after the documentary, comments and thoughts were welcomed, so I shared my thoughts specifically highlighting resources on collective healing and rest in relation to generational and historic racial injustice/oppression (resources such as the Nap Ministry). The vendors and attendees were kind and friendly, and a few were curious about the grassroots healing organization I mentioned. What I noticed was, while the owner was notably attentive and warm toward his white patrons and others, his demeanor toward me, the only Indian woman there, was inexplicably hostile and impatient. It left me confused. In his direct comments to me, he indicated a disdain he had for "Indian people" with the generalization that "Indians are the most successful in this racist system and are therefore part of the problem." I was painted with a stereotype that has nothing to do with me. It was disappointing to see a space dedicated to 'liberation' revert to such narrow, localized profiling of a supporter like myself, especially considering that my intention for being there was the exact opposite. This attitude of blindly disparaging Indians is the same anti-blackness he claims to oppose. It is ironic that in a space claiming to fight racism white supremacy, the owner reserves his most aggressive scapegoating for a dark skinned woman of color who was there to offer genuine support (an easy target for misplaced hostility), all while changing his demeanor for the white guests. It contradicts the grassroots racial struggle he claims to represent and left a bad taste in my mouth. The food was overpriced but watered down, cold, and lacked flavor. The whole atmosphere was cold, low vibrational, grievance and money driven, and lacked the vitality and integrity one would expect at this price point. Quality is a result of Presence. Because the owner's heart was closed and his mind was set on getting money for low quality food and finding a scapegoat, the food had no life-force. I have withdrawn my support from this place.
