    SCRAPPLE BREAKFAST PLATTER

Finally tried this place after seeing good reviews on social media. Staff was as friendly as they could be lol felt a little rushed and a guy taking the order was a little rude but that was expected. The scrapple was fried perfectly but soo thick so the inside was gooey. The eggs were a no and potatoes were old. Bacon, BLT and salmon BLT were good. The pancakes were just .. idk just look at the picture. Would I come back? Probably not but try it for yourself.

Breakfast heaven!! How they got the bitter in the brioche bread is incredible. Best breakfast sandwich in PG!!! Grits too!! Claim to fame here is the salmon grilled cheese and the steak and cheese PG style, I'd argue the breakfasts are the feature that win.

Hey friends! I came across this place on TikTok in the summertime and finally got a chance to try it today! I'm always excited to hear of a new Black Owned Business in the area. Cafe Curbside offers American comfort food and soul food options. I ordered the Shrimp Platter($17). I enjoyed it. The shrimp was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Fries were golden brown and seasoned well. My only distaste was that they only gave us four packets of ketchup for our order. My boyfriend ordered the Shrimp Po Boy($16) with a side of fries($4). He did not enjoy the Po Boy. He said that the missing lettuce and tomato were a distaste. He enjoyed the fries. Service was friendly! Interior is small. There are no tables available for dine-in. The festive decor for the holidays was a nice touch. Bathroom was out of order. Price point is affordable. The most expensive option was around $20 and least was $13. Parking is free and limited. I'll be back for sure to try some other menu items. Especially their fresh made juices and teas. Enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Why haven't I been to this spot?!?!?! Thankful again to Yelp I found this GEM when I was craving a breakfast sandwich. The staff here are so welcoming & amazing! I walked in and felt the positive and warm vibes along with receiving instant wonderful customer service. They definitely helped me with wanting to come back since I didn't realize their lunch menu too which some items can be made at breakfast too. I'm already indecisive lol but since I wasn't starving, I ordered an egg drop. EGG & CHEESE EGG DROP This sandwich is sooooooooo buttery and yummy OMGGGGGG! Bread is slightly toasted but yet still soft, the eggs are cooked perfect for me and the amount of cheese was well balanced. Even without protein this was SUPERB! BLUE INDIGO LEMONADE I had to try one of their lemonades and the name caught me. It's super sweet, for me I like my drinks not extremely sweet but if I add a bunch of ice and put it in the freezer I'm sure it will be perfect. I love all the options of flavors and teas they had. Parking is cool since there's a private lot but made on the weekdays it's busier. I'm coming back to try their viral SALMON GRILLED CHEESE. I'm definitely telling my friends!!

Black owned - very well seasoned food, in Capital Heights. Curbside Cafe. Been open about 6 months. Terrific service, everything made to order. Strictly carry out in a small little strip mall with nothing else around it basically, but the food is worth a stop. He seasons his wings overnight before cooking and topping them the next day over a bed of fries. HEAVY container. The wings are large and the fries are abundant which basically means two meals for most people. And that salmon grilled cheese is on brioche with spinach? Unctuous! Them dudes know what they doing over there. Strictly carry out for now but they're working on a sit-down breakfast/lunch spot. Chef Anthony and Chef Drake. Apparently they've been on Fox 5 already for their food so these guys are going places. Ain't a lot of parking spots out front. Luckily, these guys will be moving at some point coming up fairly soon because this space is insufficient for a whole host of reasons.

I wanted to try this place after seeing the reviews! I ordered online the night before with a pick up time of 7:15 AM and arrived at 7:25 AM . My food was packed and ready to go. I love that so much. The service was great, I paid thru the mobile site. So I walked in gave my order number along with my name then received my order. The food was so delicious and the eggs were so fluffy. I love fluffy eggs. The pancakes were VERY good they didn't need any syrup. I loved everything we ordered and again the customer service was very nice. The place was clean and green! I will definitely be back .

    Smothered Chicken Poutine

We ordered the Smothered Chicken Poutine, the Grilled Salmon sandwich, and the Chicken Wings and Waffle. The Smothered Chicken Poutine in that gravy was delicious with the red potatoes. The Grilled Salmon was loaded with salmon and the chicken and waffles had a nice seasoned twist. We will definitely be back for more!!!

I had the steak and Egg Hash the steak was flavorful and tender the eggs and potatoes(hash) were lacking in flavor. I had a side of grits they were really good. And the honey butter hush puppies were amazing. I will definitely visit again to try something else. Customer service 5 out of 5 Portion Size 5 out of 5 Flavor 3 out of 5

They don't have typical bacon or sausage because "the owners don't eat pork" which really sounds like something more appropriate for their house, and not their restaurant business on Rhode island ave. The "chicken sausage" was a shriveled up piece of chicken paste that they cooked in the microwave. I ordered scrambled eggs, and when they came out, they had that crust that scrambled eggs get when they sit out after being cooked. The grits were lumpy and outside of the cheese sauce they put on the top - had no flavor. The French toast tasted like milk eggs and burnt grill. And the pancakes, were very obviously pre made and microwaved. Additionally - the meal I ordered is listed to come with a bread, eggs, a side and a meat. I asked for bacon, and was told the owners don't eat pork. I asked for the chicken sausage.. 5 minutes later the server asked me if I wanted the sausage spicy or not. Then when she brought the bill, there was a $4 up charge for spicy sausage that she neither told me, nor was it on the menu. And to make matters worse - the sausages were not spicy and were actually just flat out nasty. This is a SAD excuse for a restaurant. I'm sad that I spent calories walking there and dollars eating there.

We entered, admired the artwork around the room and were seated immediately to talk further what we liked about it. We were first greeted by our server Tess, who introduced herself & gave us menus. We searched a little, of course hawk-eyed other tables to see what others ordered... and Tess came back a few minutes later to take our drink orders. We got some waters, iced tea, lavender lemonades, and a mimosa flight for the table... but for a Sunday (what I would expect to be a busy day; a day of POST-prep) we received not 1 but 2 dirty glasses that we had to send back. Additionally, it took us over 20 minutes to get not one the flight but the simple nonalcoholic lavender lemonade to the table and was never told what the delay was about. The owner Tiess (I hope I spelled that right) did walk around with a smile, and to greet the table. All tables, and that is always appreciated and noticed by me. We did express to her our concerns and she did ensure us that we'd be taken care of. Tess grabs our orders and later our food comes out. I have been to Milk & Honey before in Bowie, and I say that because I don't remember their menu being so "busy". The grits and fried green tomatoes as an example of said "busy" items. Overall, the food was okay. Their potatoes were overcooked said 1-party, while as previously stated, another party said their grits and the fried green tomatoes were too busy. Not that it was good or bad, just... busy. Too much going on. I personally had the whiting and it was the star of the meal. My side of (plain ol) grits came out and I appreciated them being plain....they were just cold. So... 3 it is. Last few things : 1. Please note that there is a 1.5hour wait time. 2. There is a dj. 3. It's the kind of place that should be a reliable go-to for a group looking to catch sunset drinks before dinner. We made a reservation for eight, which turned out to be completely unnecessary given how empty it was when we arrived. After getting seated, 15 minutes passed without a single server coming by. Not a water drop, not an acknowledgment, nothing. A few of us eventually walked up to the host stand and asked if we could just order drinks at the bar while we caught the last of the sunset on the patio. Even that took far longer than it should have. This isn't a packed Friday night situation where you chalk it up to volume. The place was largely empty. The bar was slow regardless. We made it back to the table. Another 15 minutes before anyone came by to offer water or take drink orders. At that point, we looked at the limited snack menu, decided dinner was happening elsewhere, and let the host know we were leaving. The one server who did eventually stop by apologized and volunteered that the bar was just slow to get drinks out. At least someone said it out loud. The number of empty tables confirmed that plenty of other people had already figured this out on their own. The setting here is genuinely good. The views are real, the space is well-designed, and there's no reason this shouldn't work. But the service infrastructure clearly can't support even a moderately sized group on a slow night, which is a significant problem for a place marketing itself as an events and reservations venue. You can't charge Navy Yard prices and run a bar that moves at this pace. Wouldn't go back unless something has visibly changed.

It's one of those staple spots where if you haven't been, people will definitely question where you're really from. I ordered takeout on a Monday: * Half smoke with sunny side up eggs and French toast for me * Turkey bacon sandwich with home fries for bae * Scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, and home fries for my father The food was ready quickly and affordable--which is rare these days. When my partner walked in with a vanilla wafers box, I was confused... until I opened it and saw everything served on paper plates, wrapped in foil. It gave full-on "you better not mess up grandma's dishes" energy--and I loved it. That first bite of the half smoke brought me straight back to my childhood. It tasted just like the kind my grandpa used to send my mom from Savannah, GA. No frills, no fancy presentation, just real food made with love. The portion sizes weren't oversized, but you get exactly what's described on the menu. If you have a bigger appetite, I'd recommend adding a side. Still, it's a solid, classic breakfast that doesn't break the bank. This is the kind of spot that makes you feel like home--simple, satisfying, and rooted in the community. I'm already plotting my next order.

My only note for improvement would be the timing of when the food is brought out to the table. Some people like to eat certain food items together and the pace was lagging in-between the food items dropped off to the table. Another area for improvement was the frequency in which the waiter checked our table, especially since we had bottomless mimosas. I feel we may not have been able to maximize on our mimosas due to the slow check-backs. Other that the noted areas that could use some improvement, the food was very good and we enjoyed our time together immensely!

Tables are limited, so make sure to have a reservation. On the topic of food, I didn't see much on the menu I could eat, so just opted for a cocktail (ate at home). There were some side option, just nothing that really suited me. I ordered a beer and later a tequila sunrise. The cocktail was bright, beautiful, and delicious. It was such a great drink for the beautiful sunny day it was. Our server was Deja and she was wonderful. She was prompt and we saw her often, which was appreciated. The check is done via QR code which was very easy. We had a slight issue with our check not pulling up, but she quickly resolved. Again, the food doesn't really suit my preferences (heavy meat options), but I would definitely pop back for a drink.

An Elegant Breakfast Spot with Wonderful Staff (Just Mind the Checkout)…read moreThe Atmosphere & First Impressions High-End Finishes: The restaurant is beautifully designed with high-end finishes, creating a very upscale environment. Impeccably Clean: Upon arriving, we immediately noticed how clean and well-maintained the entire space was. Warm Welcome: The hostess was incredibly kind and set a great tone for our breakfast. The Food & Service Fantastic Menu: The menu offers a wonderful assortment of options. We were originally drawn in because we were excited to try their homemade Pop-Tart! Accommodating & Kind: Our waiter was a very nice gentleman. The kitchen was more than happy to make small adjustments to our orders for dietary needs, which we deeply appreciated. Kudos to the Staff: The waitstaff does a phenomenal job, especially considering the clientele. This area tends to attract a lot of pompous professionals, and we witnessed customers being incredibly rude to the staff on two back-to-back visits. A Note on the Crowd: For example, we were in on a Thursday afternoon and watched a large group of business professionals completely ignore their server. They wouldn't even acknowledge them or say thank you. It felt like olden times, where the staff were treated like servants to a king or queen and were just expected to take abuse. It was really bad. A Quick Note on the Checkout Process Rushed Payment: The payment process felt a bit rushed. The server hands you a small payment machine and quickly pushes you to complete the transaction right then and there. Keep an Eye Out: We aren't the type of people to scrutinize a bill closely--if it's right around the expected amount, we don't worry about it. However, the lady at the table right before us was loudly complaining about a service fee on her bill, and she ended up not leaving a tip at all because of it. Combined with how fast they push the payment machine on you, it might be worth taking a quick second to look over your total if you are the type of person who likes to verify the fine print. Come on people, do better! Overall Impression It is an expensive spot, but the food quality, cleanliness, and excellent service from the waitstaff make it worth a visit. The staff handles a tough crowd beautifully!

However, the peppercorn "sauce" wasnt it... it was literally loaded with peppercorn as you can see in the picture. Overloaded.... With peppercorn which was burnt and made the meat bitter.
