3 wings and fries
Chaz D.

As soon as I walked in, I noticed a faint but unpleasant smell. The menu is limited to either 3 or 6 wings, with no options in between. I ordered 3 wings with fries and a large half and half, which came to $16--a bit pricey in my opinion. The half and half was decent, maybe a 7 out of 10. However, the food itself was disappointing. The wings were soggy and slightly greasy, and the fries were just ordinary with a seasoning so light you could barely taste it. I ended up throwing most of it away. They also provide ketchup and hot sauce in small packets, which I dislike; I prefer places that have a small station with salt, pepper, and condiments in squeeze bottles, but they didn't have that here.

Sorry the wings were so good had to take a piece before the pic lol !!

Stopped by Maryland and stumbled upon this place on yelp and i was impressed how good the food was especially the wings they were perfect.... i also had the salmon cake platter with cheese grits and scrambled eggs and that was delicious as well...only reason i didnt give five stars is because the salmon cake platter only came with one sapmon cake!!! at least put 2 salmon cakes in the platters!!!

Salmon cake and egg sandwich with side of sausage links

I know for a fact I tasted food from God's kitchen when I ate here!!!! Let me jump in and make this quick: EAT HERE. I ordered the salmon cake and egg breakfast sandwich on wheat (they ran out of croissants) and it is by far the BEST breakfast sandwich I have EVER eaten! I say that with full confidence. The simplicity of the sandwich did not prepare me for the amount of flavor I was in for! Wow! I know if I had it on the croissant, I would've proposed to the chef. The fried chicken. Hot, crispy, flavorful, delicious. Seasoned and fried by an ancestor cause, whew! I definitely wasn't expecting such deliciousness from this unassuming restaurant but the cherry on top was the extremely professional and pleasant young lady at the counter. I will absolutely make the trip to this place again.

Lucky was very nice. Very accommodating. His cooks moved with a sense of urgency. The young lady working as the cashier was very sweet. I called ahead to place my order and the wait was short. I have nothing but positive things to say about this establishment. & most importantly-- BLACK OWNED ! I ordered chicken wings in the am and they still delivered. I requested them to be fried hard and they did just that with no complaints. Everything else from the eggs to the sausage, bacon and potatoes were so good. Would definitely recommend!

Lucky's is DELICIOUS & worth EVERY DAMN CENT! The salmon cakes, French toast, waffles, & home fries were SLAMMING! The salmon cake and home fries portion could be larger. HOWEVER, the flavor makes up for it. The young lady at the register is excellent! Be sure to give her a nice tip! She rings in your order, delivers your order to the table, & takes orders on the phone with a wonderfully positive & professional attitude. My only recommendation would be they should wipe down the condiment containers, napkin holder, salt & pepper shakers.

This place gets four stars because the food is just THAT GOOD!!!! If you want a down home country breakfast minus the labor of doing it yourself you cannot go wrong patronizing this spot. I recommend the French Toast and the corn beef hash. Those are definitely my faves. I do wish they would invest in the physical facilities. The ambience of the restaurant is lacking to say the least. But your belly will be pleased.

Second time here. Customer service from cashier was great both times. My sandwich included salmon cake, eggs and cheese, I just wanted salmon cake on toast my first visit. Second visit today I got salmon cake, potatoes and toast. She rang up a platter that included eggs. Did not want the eggs because I don't eat them. And she said they won't allow her to substitute grits for the eggs. $8.99 plus tax. Won't be back.

Not bad at all! My mom wanted some breakfast and it was after "breakfast time" for our usual spot. So, I Yelped and came across this spot! This is a no-frills, small, basic breakfast diner located back in the warehouse district of the Hampton Mall area. If you are looking for a breakfast like the one you might get at your mom's or grandma's house, this is it. Basic, straight forward good breakfast food. The customer service was good as well. The prices are reasonable. I would definitely come back. Plus, they serve breakfast until 4PM!!!! The missing star is because my mom thoughts she should have gotten a little more bacon! LOL! But, that's only because it was cooked just right!

Great breakfast spot. Lots of food for reasonable prices. Breakfast all day the waffles are my favorite. .

For starters, I couldn't decide between the honey butter chicken biscuits, jalapeño cornbread, or the calamari... and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. For the main course, I went with the barramundi (catch of the day) and it was absolutely perfect, though the BBQ pork ribs and 12oz black angus New York strip with fries also looked amazing. Dessert is not to be missed--the bread pudding is a must-try. And the cocktails? The cherry blossom martini, Fleur de Lis, and espresso martini all hit the spot This place is perfect for a cozy Sunday dinner, a night out, or just because. I can't wait to come back--highly recommend bringing someone special or your crew for an unforgettable meal!

It's packed and loud inside BUT don't let the smoke and mirrors fool you. The food is overcooked and lacks season. My advice save your hard earned money this place and their food TERRIBLE. Parents anytime a kids says, "these chicken fingers don't taste like anything", and then I try them and it taste like chicken no seasoning just fried chicken with absolutely nothing. I hate to say this but it's the worse tasting food I've had in years.

This place is pretty big and I am curious with the setup if Jaspers was another type of "entertainment" establishment where more than the drinks would be shaking. Well, a quick search answered my question, and it once was once the BET Soundstage where they filmed videos of Uncut. IYKYK. I am not sure of that last part about Uncut actually. What I do know is that Jaspers is well worth a return. From the looks this place stays busy and a definite local spot for some. Service was pretty good and it is no different than many places where some are doing more than others and so glad we had someone who was focused and answered our questions. I started off with a drink called the Darth Vader. It is strong but not to the point where you taste just alcohol. I highly recommend the Chino Latino Rolls. I wish they had some avocado lime crema to go with it but this app was good with the sour cream. The appetizer came out hot and was not waiting under some heat lamp. I went with the bacon cheeseburger at a medium rare. This place has a very good burger, and it was better than some places that charge way more. Put this place in for top burgers in the DMV. No complaints and this is a good place to checkout. It took me a minute to get here but glad I did finally. A second visit is a must for me.

The food was sooo good, especially the tiger wings. Those were easily the highlight for me. Everything came out flavorful and fresh. Even with how busy it was, I still enjoyed my experience and would definitely come back to try more things on the menu.

However, my experience revealed a significant disparity between the stated purpose and the actual atmosphere created by the owner. The irony: The event was a documentary, discussion, and supporting the vendors who came. During the discussion portion after the documentary, comments and thoughts were welcomed, so I shared my thoughts specifically highlighting resources on collective healing and rest in relation to generational and historic racial injustice/oppression (resources such as the Nap Ministry). The vendors and attendees were kind and friendly, and a few were curious about the grassroots healing organization I mentioned. What I noticed was, while the owner was notably attentive and warm toward his white patrons and others, his demeanor toward me, the only Indian woman there, was inexplicably hostile and impatient. It left me confused. In his direct comments to me, he indicated a disdain he had for "Indian people" with the generalization that "Indians are the most successful in this racist system and are therefore part of the problem." I was painted with a stereotype that has nothing to do with me. It was disappointing to see a space dedicated to 'liberation' revert to such narrow, localized profiling of a supporter like myself, especially considering that my intention for being there was the exact opposite. This attitude of blindly disparaging Indians is the same anti-blackness he claims to oppose. It is ironic that in a space claiming to fight racism white supremacy, the owner reserves his most aggressive scapegoating for a dark skinned woman of color who was there to offer genuine support (an easy target for misplaced hostility), all while changing his demeanor for the white guests. It contradicts the grassroots racial struggle he claims to represent and left a bad taste in my mouth. The food was overpriced but watered down, cold, and lacked flavor. The whole atmosphere was cold, low vibrational, grievance and money driven, and lacked the vitality and integrity one would expect at this price point. Quality is a result of Presence. Because the owner's heart was closed and his mind was set on getting money for low quality food and finding a scapegoat, the food had no life-force. I have withdrawn my support from this place.
