A great hole in the wall type of spot for the good food you crave. They are take out only! Parking is pretty easy though and they are in an industrial type area. So if you see a bunch of warehouses you are in the right place. The hospitality was great. The host greeted us thoroughly and made sure we understood the menu and what we were getting into. They even made recommendations to make sure we got the most bang for our bucks. Food was tasty. We got the French toast platter with scrapple, scrambled eggs, and home fries which are their grilled potatoes. We also got the waffle platter with crispy bacon. As soon as I walked in, I noticed a faint but unpleasant smell. The menu is limited to either 3 or 6 wings, with no options in between. I ordered 3 wings with fries and a large half and half, which came to $16--a bit pricey in my opinion. The half and half was decent, maybe a 7 out of 10. However, the food itself was disappointing. The wings were soggy and slightly greasy, and the fries were just ordinary with a seasoning so light you could barely taste it. I ended up throwing most of it away. They also provide ketchup and hot sauce in small packets, which I dislike; I prefer places that have a small station with salt, pepper, and condiments in squeeze bottles, but they didn't have that here. read more

Staying in a hotel in the area for the weekend it would have been nice to know before hand that in establishment dining was not available. We can't eat a full breakfast in the car. So back to the hotel we went. We were missing a side order of grits upon arrival back at our hotel to eat. Darn it! The eggs were swimming in grease. The home fries were flavorless unless you count the crunch of the almost raw onions in them. I ordered the salmon cake and egg breakfast sandwich on wheat (they ran out of croissants) and it is by far the BEST breakfast sandwich I have EVER eaten! I say that with full confidence. The simplicity of the sandwich did not prepare me for the amount of flavor I was in for! Wow! I know if I had it on the croissant, I would've proposed to the chef. The fried chicken. Lucky was very nice. Very accommodating. His cooks moved with a sense of urgency. The young lady working as the cashier was very sweet. I called ahead to place my order and the wait was short. I have nothing but positive things to say about this establishment. & most importantly-- BLACK OWNED ! I ordered chicken wings in the am and they still delivered. They have a pretty extensive menu, offering breakfast platters, French Toast/Pancake plates, Belgian Waffles, sandwiches, subs, fish, lunch and dinner entrees, sides, and housemade desserts. The hubs and I came here for some breakfast, and we ordered the following: the Signal 13 Platter (aka Trouble) (this came with a couple of soft buttermilk pancakes, topped with some melted butter; two sausage links (delicious and with a little snap), eggs your way (we opted for scrambled with cheese), and a couple of crispy bacon (yum!)); a 2-egg platter (with a side of homefries (could have been more crispy, but loved that it was skin-on), scrambled egg with cheese, and a slice of ham steak (pretty meaty and a generous slice)); a French Toast platter (this was really delicious, as it was not overly sweet, well-battered, and dusted with powdered sugar; maple syrup was available at all the tables); a Steak, Egg, and Cheese breakfast sandwich (on two toasts, I wasn't a fan of the slices of the 'steak' (as used in the steak and cheese subs), but the egg and cheese were fine; most likely, I'd stick with the bacon/egg/cheese combo instead); and, a side of corned beef hash (not as super crispy as I would like it to be, but it was still good and of a generous portion for a side). We washed it down with their housebrewed sweet tea and lemonade mix (super sweet, and a bit more sour than the tang). Their fried fish is good, home fries, veggie omelette with egg whites, turkey bacon, grits, and when I use to eat pork they had some good bacon, sausage, and scrapple. Today I had the Veggie Omelette with egg whites, home fries, and I added on a salmon cake. My lord that SALMON CAKE!!!! The omelette was very hearty and full of veggies and the home fries were soft and crispy just like I LIKE. But wait the grand finale is the FRENCH TOAST!!!! Even though it was close to 2pm I ordered breakfast food (breakfast is served all day). I had the steak omelet with a side of turkey sausage. The omelet was full of steak, onions, peppers, and tomatoes with cheese on the top. The turkey sausage was a good portion for the price. But most importantly, all of the food was good. Fathers Day morning and my husband didn't want me to cook nor did he want to sit down and have breakfast so we opted for carry out. Having grown tired of ihop and downright disgusted with the service at Steak in A Sack (I'll never go back) I went to yelp and found this gem. Service was great and fast. I ordered the veggie omelette, home fries, waffle, and wheat toast. Everything was seasoned really well. The home fries were my favorite. The waffle taste like cake. It was very good. There was a couple of things I didn't like about the veggie omelette. The spinach was cooked down like greens, and instead of shredded cheese inside the omelette, 2 whole slices of cheese was placed on top. The omelette still was good, I just wasn't expecting that consistency of the spinach. This was my first time trying this place. I read the reviews and wanted to try it out, so I stopped in today. I also want to add that you could totally miss this place because it's not visible from any main street. When I first walked in, I was greeted by a very nice woman. I asked her about the amount of french toast and was pleasantly surprised to hear 6. For a family of three, that was perfect. I added a side of sausage and the total was $23.xx. Not a bad price for the amount of food I received. It was more than enough to feed all three. So, I get home and divvy up the goods. The verdict: french toast - excellent. A previous reviewer would be happy to know that the amount of butter used must have decreased because they were perfect. eggs - just ok. nothing fancy, but not horrible. home fries - No real seasoning and left a weird aftertaste. I wouldn't get them again. sausage - i believe they may have been cooked in oil, which I am not a fan of. None of us liked them at all. bacon - They were fine. Crispy, but not too hard. waffle - really good, but around the clock chicken and fish (which is around the corner by the way) has a much better one. Overall, it was ok.
