Delicious fluffy pancakes, seasoned egg whites, & spicy beef sausage. I forgot to take a picture before I started, but it was so good!

Definitely a 10/10! I would eat this everyday if I could. The pancakes are amazing! The egg whites were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The spicy beef sausage was a nice surprise. Worth the price and worth a visit! Service is always good, thank you Leon! :) This places feels nostalgic.

Amazing experience in a hidden gem of Deanwood! The cook was authentic and you watched him grill you order - our waitress is just the friendly face you want to talk to behind the corner and I think it was Mary! get out of homogeneous arlington and support your community and small business owners!

Perfectly cooked eggs over medium with corned beef hash. And those grits!! Yum!

Believe the positive reviews and ignore the dubious exterior. This place is legit. Been there for 50 years (!) and serving a solid diner style breakfast. They do not accept credit cards - so that's something to note as there's nary an ATM closeby. It's so much better than any options in the area and they are super nice and friendly as well! I'll definitely be back - I'd love to try their smothered pork chop special!

A group of friends and I went to the Deanwood area for a fun day of exploration, complete without doing any research or Yelping before we arrived. After departing the Deanwood Metro we walked across the street to the Community Center where we were given the recommendation of Mary's Place, and there we went! Location - This place is missable if you don't know where you are going. If you are near the highway, you're almost there since this restaurant runs parallel. Food - Breakfast diner food. Get a country fried steak with potatoes for ~$7, or french toast with eggs and sausage ~$9. Other items include pancakes, cheeseburgers and other sandwiches, corn bread, and beans & rice. CA$H ONLY!!! Space - Sit up at the counter or there are two small tables that may fit four people squished. Not too big but it does the job. You can tell it's a local place, which only adds to its charm! If that doesn't do it, you'll get a joy reading the words of wisdom on the walls or looking at the photos inside. Staff - Susie and the team are great, friendly, and quick with the food! The grill is right in front of the counter and you can see them whipping up the food like ninjas. Overall, awesome local Deanwood experience for all to witness and enjoy. As Susie says, "woo hoooo!"

Here from the West Coast for a wedding. Stumbled upon this place. Was first a little apprehensive. Will there was no reason for it. The breakfast was odd the chart delish. Felt right at home with the regulars. Will be back before we leave.

Gone are the blue walls and no more of the carry out feel. I remember this place had some of best bacon but you can tell the quality of food has gone out the window. I walked in and was greeted by a guy taking orders. His customer service skills were good. That was the only reason for the 2 stars. I ordered the wings and waffle, Belgian waffle and breakfast platter along with 2 drinks for $42 bucks. Not too bad. We sat at a table and the food came. Once again, the guy at the counter was great. He made sure to bring over our waffles while they were hot. That was the only part of the food that was good/decent, hence the second star. The rest is poor quality and belongs in the trash. The eggs were not real and god awful. The 8 wingettes came straight out of a freezer bag/ air fryer. TRASH. The bacon was fresh out of the microwave. I'll never ever come back. The food is that bad. If there was anyone standing outside needing food I would have happily given it to them. This place has fallen off a cliff hence the empty parking lot. It is a hard no for me.

Everyone enjoyed their food from the pregnant mom to the picky toddler. My husband said the omelette was nice and fluffy and filled well. With drinks, this ran us about $68. I will be returning.

From the outside, it has that classic, full-fledged American diner look and once you walk in, it absolutely delivers on that vibe. The place is clean, welcoming, and has a really nice atmosphere. As soon as we entered, the greeter was friendly and quickly got us seated in a booth. The staff overall was very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. The menu has a ton of options, so there's something for everyone. For our meal, we ordered the French toast and the shrimp and grits, and for an appetizer, we tried the spinach rolls which were honestly fantastic and a standout item. Everything we had was flavorful and satisfying. There was a small mix-up with my drink, I ordered orange juice but received apple juice instead but it wasn't a big deal, and everything else came out great. The diner also offers a variety of beverages, including alcoholic options, coffee, hot chocolate, and more, though we stuck with breakfast drinks this time. Pricing can be a bit on the higher side depending on what you order. For two people, our breakfast came out to around $68, but considering the quality of the food, service, and overall experience, it felt worth it. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed our breakfast here. Between the atmosphere, the food, and the friendly staff, I'd definitely come back again. 4 out of 5 stars!

Lanham, MD isn't exactly a destination dining city, so stumbling onto Silver Diner and going back a…read moresecond time tells you something. We hit it twice during a recent trip: once for breakfast, and once for dinner. Both times, the menu range stopped us in our tracks. This isn't a laminated-two-pager situation. There's real variety here, and it's executed with a level of care that genuinely surprised me. Portion sizes are exactly where they should be (not the grotesque American overload, not the pretentious undersell) and the flavors are consistently on point. The one exception: my other half felt her breakfast potatoes were a little flat, with bland seasoning and a texture that wasn't quite there. A minor thing, but worth noting because everything else around it cleared a higher bar. For breakfast, the coffee was ok, though I suspect ours had been sitting too long. Not a dealbreaker, but a place this dialed-in should probably be more attentive to that detail. Value is where Silver Diner arguably embarrasses its competition. The price-to-quality ratio is legitimately hard to explain. Where else do you get this kind of menu variety, this level of execution, and walk out without wincing at the bill? Whoever runs this chain is paying attention to the details and clearly cares about making an impression, and it shows in almost every aspect of the operation, including a noticeably clean dining room. That said, the staff was somewhat of a letdown. They're efficient, sure, but warm they are not. The payment handoff in particular felt oddly transactional...they simply extended the payment device across the table. It's a small thing that lands wrong when the rest of the experience is so clearly intentional. I find it hard to square how much attention goes into the food and environment, and how little seems to go into making guests feel like the staff actually wants to be there. All in all, if Silver Diner ever opens in the Pacific Northwest, I'll be in line before the doors open, and I suspect half of the Seattle area would join me. Go. Absolutely worth your time if you want some low-priced quality, casual food.

There's a small Wyndham hotel next to it, so if you look up and see the Wyndham signage, you're in the right spot! I've never dined at this spot and it's been here for YEARS! I believe it started off as a Howard Johnson's many moons ago, but don't quote me on that..LOL. The restaurant itself is really nothing to look at. It's seems more like a diner than a restaurant but it's surprisingly large, just a little outdated. I sat at the rather small bar since I was there for HH. The bartender was extremely pleasant and attentive. I ordered the wings and bacon wrapped dates that were on the HH menu and I also ordered the calamari which was on the regular menu. I must say, the calamari and bacon wrapped dates tastes as good as any I've ever had! The wings were very good as well. The HH priced margarita was extremely good and $4 off the regular price! I will definitely be back when I want to grab something good and lowkey. Oh yeah, there's a Mexican food vibe which surprised me. I called to order pickup, and the service was nice and friendly. Also, the spot is very reliable, as it's open until midnight and roughly 16 hours of the day, serving many different options, from fast food to comfort food. I ordered the combo over rice ($13), the Philly cheesesteak combo with French fries and lemonade ($15.49), five wings with one waffle ($13.49), and a carrot cake slice ($4). - The fried chicken wings were alright for your typical fast food chicken. - Waffle was decent: it was soft & fluffy. - The combo over rice was solid, and I liked the chicken the most. - Philly cheesesteak was okay and would've been even better if it had provolone instead of the cheese whiz. - French fries were solid: they were crispy with some seasoning on them. - The house-made lemonade was alright, and I would be open to getting it again. - The carrot cake isn't anything crazy, it's alright, but I do appreciate the $4 price tag cause others would charge double or more for a slice. Overall, the spot does a good job with fair pricing, fast comfort food, and reliable hours. I'd come back and recommend.
