Turkey Sausage Link Platter The grits are bomb !
Lauren A.

Quick and convenient . Very sweet Owner. The building looked decent . The grits are bomb!

French toast platter
Nevaeh C.

Let's start with the customer service the guy who was working there was nice, he helped me pick out my meal since it was my first time there. I got a French toast platter & shrimp n grits. My total came up to around 25. The best thing on the plate was the french toast everything else was 8/10 but that french toast 10/10. The shrimp and grits were okay the grits itself lacked flavor but the shrimp was good.

Mannn. This is the definition of a HOLE IN THE WALL spot, you would never think it would have torch eats like this just passing by it but man... greatness right here, this was my first time and I came for brunch with my brother, we both got some safe options and they did not disappoint. We broke both eats down, and the bacon and chicken were fried and crunch to perfection, soft waffles and French toast was immaculate

Steak Bagel and hash brown

I haven't been here in a whileeee but whenever I'm in the area it's my go-to place!!! ... I was craving salmon and grits so that's what I got!! It was the right portions left you feeling hefty and full !!! I added hot sauce and ketchup of course made some toast when I got home . The guy is always pleasant and make sure your order is correct if not he'll fix it pronto so I appre the customer service and the fact it's chairs to sit to wait for your order if you like so definitely skip ihop/McDonald's and come here for real quality food and if your pockets aren't pricey on the day you need it to be

Scrapple with grape jelly sandwich

We were looking for a quick breakfast spot that had waffles. Scrapple sandwich was made perfectly. The bacon and hash browns were good. Ordered corned beef hash well done, and it was sooooooooo yummy (but a bit pricey for a side $5.25). Guy running the register was nice and patient (and was knocking the orders out back to back). Great local spot to get breakfast and lunch

OMG! The shrimp n grits AMAZING! The waffles soft and buttery. My first time here definitely won't be the last.

Home potatoes

I come here almost every other week. Same 1-2 orders. Anything I want , they can accommodate. Customer service is more than excellent. Food is always done in under 15 minutes. I can't complain about this place if I tried. Breakfast is ALL DAY. You know how hard it is to find that ?!! Let alone a Carryout spot in MD that everything is just great ? I will forever be coming here.

Steak and egg sub with home fries... home fries are actually RED potatoes with onions of course!
Turkessa P.

This spot is almost a hole in the wall but the food and service has never disappointed me. It reminds me of a downtown city deli but "the one" where everyone knows the food is more tasty. Each time I've gotten breakfast from here, it always tastes and feels homemade, like from Grandma's house. I've only patronized here about 3 or 4 times and "Yum" is all I can say. I'm glad they're open on Saturday mornings for a good home-cooked breakfast (with great options, btw)... maybe when you just don't feel like cooking.

Carry out & plate I ordered

Found this carry out spot on google trying to find breakfast on my errands in a new area where I don't usually shop . ( I was at Burlington ) They said "we have best grits" and I can say the grits are the bomb !!! I got the salmon & grits yummmm! I will be back

They don't have typical bacon or sausage because "the owners don't eat pork" which really sounds like something more appropriate for their house, and not their restaurant business on Rhode island ave. The "chicken sausage" was a shriveled up piece of chicken paste that they cooked in the microwave. I ordered scrambled eggs, and when they came out, they had that crust that scrambled eggs get when they sit out after being cooked. The grits were lumpy and outside of the cheese sauce they put on the top - had no flavor. The French toast tasted like milk eggs and burnt grill. And the pancakes, were very obviously pre made and microwaved. Additionally - the meal I ordered is listed to come with a bread, eggs, a side and a meat. I asked for bacon, and was told the owners don't eat pork. I asked for the chicken sausage.. 5 minutes later the server asked me if I wanted the sausage spicy or not. Then when she brought the bill, there was a $4 up charge for spicy sausage that she neither told me, nor was it on the menu. And to make matters worse - the sausages were not spicy and were actually just flat out nasty. This is a SAD excuse for a restaurant. I'm sad that I spent calories walking there and dollars eating there.

We entered, admired the artwork around the room and were seated immediately to talk further what we liked about it. We were first greeted by our server Tess, who introduced herself & gave us menus. We searched a little, of course hawk-eyed other tables to see what others ordered... and Tess came back a few minutes later to take our drink orders. We got some waters, iced tea, lavender lemonades, and a mimosa flight for the table... but for a Sunday (what I would expect to be a busy day; a day of POST-prep) we received not 1 but 2 dirty glasses that we had to send back. Additionally, it took us over 20 minutes to get not one the flight but the simple nonalcoholic lavender lemonade to the table and was never told what the delay was about. The owner Tiess (I hope I spelled that right) did walk around with a smile, and to greet the table. All tables, and that is always appreciated and noticed by me. We did express to her our concerns and she did ensure us that we'd be taken care of. Tess grabs our orders and later our food comes out. I have been to Milk & Honey before in Bowie, and I say that because I don't remember their menu being so "busy". The grits and fried green tomatoes as an example of said "busy" items. Overall, the food was okay. Their potatoes were overcooked said 1-party, while as previously stated, another party said their grits and the fried green tomatoes were too busy. Not that it was good or bad, just... busy. Too much going on. I personally had the whiting and it was the star of the meal. My side of (plain ol) grits came out and I appreciated them being plain....they were just cold. So... 3 it is. Last few things : 1. Please note that there is a 1.5hour wait time. 2. There is a dj. 3. There is outside covered seating available, overlooking part of the upcoming surrounding shopping center and parking lot. 4. An 18% gratuity is entered for orders over $150.

We split the DL's Egg Drop (the bulgogi breakfast sandwich) and the Hatch Green Chili sandwich. Both were well executed. The bulgogi brought some real depth to what could have easily been a gimmick, and the hatch green chili edged it out for me personally. The heat was there without being obnoxious, and everything held together the way a good sandwich should. Friends went with the shrimp and grits and had nothing but good things to say. The team behind this place (Scott Drewno and Danny Lee, also of Anju and ChiKo) knows what they're doing, and it shows. I ordered the shrimp and grits. My friend ordered the breakfast plate. Each came out to the table and I was honestly disappointed. I didn't know what to expect with the flavors. And the number one thing that ruined, the shrimp and grits for me was the amount of Parmesan it overloaded the plate that the smell was disturbing and made the texture of grits not to my liking. There were also only three shrimps in the entire dish just very underwhelming. Also, I was not happy with the freshly squeeze orange juice. It's not good at all. In my opinion overall, I will rate them at five out of 10.

The menu has a ton of options, so there's something for everyone. For our meal, we ordered the French toast and the shrimp and grits, and for an appetizer, we tried the spinach rolls which were honestly fantastic and a standout item. Everything we had was flavorful and satisfying. There was a small mix-up with my drink, I ordered orange juice but received apple juice instead but it wasn't a big deal, and everything else came out great. The diner also offers a variety of beverages, including alcoholic options, coffee, hot chocolate, and more, though we stuck with breakfast drinks this time. Pricing can be a bit on the higher side depending on what you order. For two people, our breakfast came out to around $68, but considering the quality of the food, service, and overall experience, it felt worth it. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed our breakfast here. Between the atmosphere, the food, and the friendly staff, I'd definitely come back again. 4 out of 5 stars!

Those flavors paired well together and were a surprisingly delicious combination. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Service was good as well. There was no outdoor seating available, which looked like a great option for enjoying the scenery. We sat inside but stepped out onto the balcony to take pictures and take in the incredible views of Washington, D.C., and the Capitol. There's no smoke and mirrors here--the city views are stunning from here. The view alone makes this place worth a visit. While it is on the pricier side, the combination of great food, excellent atmosphere, and breathtaking scenery makes it well worth the cost. It's the kind of place that should be a reliable go-to for a group looking to catch sunset drinks before dinner. We made a reservation for eight, which turned out to be completely unnecessary given how empty it was when we arrived. After getting seated, 15 minutes passed without a single server coming by. Not a water drop, not an acknowledgment, nothing. A few of us eventually walked up to the host stand and asked if we could just order drinks at the bar while we caught the last of the sunset on the patio. Even that took far longer than it should have. This isn't a packed Friday night situation where you chalk it up to volume. The place was largely empty. The bar was slow regardless. We made it back to the table. Another 15 minutes before anyone came by to offer water or take drink orders. At that point, we looked at the limited snack menu, decided dinner was happening elsewhere, and let the host know we were leaving. The one server who did eventually stop by apologized and volunteered that the bar was just slow to get drinks out. At least someone said it out loud. The number of empty tables confirmed that plenty of other people had already figured this out on their own. The setting here is genuinely good. The views are real, the space is well-designed, and there's no reason this shouldn't work. But the service infrastructure clearly can't support even a moderately sized group on a slow night, which is a significant problem for a place marketing itself as an events and reservations venue. You can't charge Navy Yard prices and run a bar that moves at this pace. Wouldn't go back unless something has visibly changed.

When my partner walked in with a vanilla wafers box, I was confused... until I opened it and saw everything served on paper plates, wrapped in foil. It gave full-on "you better not mess up grandma's dishes" energy--and I loved it. That first bite of the half smoke brought me straight back to my childhood. It tasted just like the kind my grandpa used to send my mom from Savannah, GA. No frills, no fancy presentation, just real food made with love. The portion sizes weren't oversized, but you get exactly what's described on the menu. If you have a bigger appetite, I'd recommend adding a side. Still, it's a solid, classic breakfast that doesn't break the bank. This is the kind of spot that makes you feel like home--simple, satisfying, and rooted in the community. I'm already plotting my next order.

I thought this one would be sweet as it's made with different juices but it was actually on the stronger side. Definitely stronger and better than the Cherry old-fashioned. To snack on I went with the steak and cheese, eggrolls and bacon, blue cheese brussels sprouts. The egg rolls were great. Lots of flavor and the texture was spot on. The brussels sprouts were good for the most part. They did go a little overboard with the blue cheese for my tastebuds. My second visit was for a late breakfast. I started with an Irish coffee by recommendation of the bartender. It was a great way to start the day. It was strong enough but with the right balance. My breakfast plate didn't meet my expectations. My eggs were too running, bacon was chewy, toast was stale and the hash browns were only cooked on one side. I did ask for them to be crispy.
