This is one of my favorite cafes in the DC area! They have more of an Asian take when it comes to food and drinks, which reminds me of home. I get various stuff, ranging from pastries to sandwiches. The service is always A+ quality too, I always talk to friendly employees who want to help me order. This is a great spot to wfh (there's wifi and plenty of tables - some with regular chairs and some with a more lounge-y set up) and the service is always very friendly. I love that they have a happy hour. Why not get some work done and then reward yourself with a nice cocktail after? Unfortunately I feel like the food leaves some things to be desired. The scallion pancake sandwiches are good in terms of flavor, but I find that the really crispy pancake it comes on makes it difficult (and messy) to eat. The ube cake slice I ordered needed more flavor, in both the cake and the frosting, and the cake was on the dry side. This was a disappointment since one slice was $9. Met a friend with whom I try asian breakfast places so this was a comparison with the Taiwanese-American Bacon, Egg, and Cheese (BEC) Scallion Pancake Win Son Bakery in NYC. Ube latte - 4/5, but mostly because I think I've decided I do not prefer ube in my lattes Breakfast scallion pancake sandwich with hickory smoked bacon - 4/5, served with steamed egg, american cheese, lo-mayo, side of chili crisp Maybe if I'd never had the Win Son BEC I'd score this higher but actually the Any Day Now version is just too thick. The scallion pancake is not crepe thin like it is usually and at Win Son, the american cheese is, well, american cheese. I may have enjoyed this overall more if I had the kim chi breakfast scallion pancake sandwich but again, the scallion pancake is half of the issue. To be clear, super edible and different, just not as good as the BEC at Win Son - I'd travel to NYC just to eat that breakfast sandwich! read more

Had a lovely lunch here with some international family after a day of walking in DC. Went with friends to work for the day. Cute shop with ample seating, strong WiFi, and plenty of outlets to plug in. My first time and I will def be back for remote working! Seating is open and you order at the counter. For lunch I ordered the chicken club sandwich and loved that they come on scallion pancakes, and the pancakes are cooked to perfection. My friend ordered the General Tso's sandwich and enjoyed it as well (check the empty plates)! They have breakfast sandwiches too if that's more your speed. I had an iced vanilla latte with oat milk to drink - bc we always need caffeine) which was also sweetened well, delicious, and needed no additives. The only complaint would be that we had to ask for water while sitting at the bar all day (10a - 5pm), and the music selection prior to 4pm, but the staff was friendly and knowledgeable when I asked for recommendations. I liked this place a lot! The scallion pancakes were crunchy and thin and out of the two meats, I liked the sausage more because it had a meatier taste and it wasn't as salty. The chili oil was like Szechuan/mala flavor, not very numbing but it was good. One order of sandwiches is kind of small so we also ordered some hash browns to share. Hash Browns: Comes with two pieces and they were super crunchy! Matcha Latte: Solid matcha drink but it comes unsweetened. I believe there was a bottle of simple syrup by the utensils so you could add as much as you want. ~Service~ After you order at the counter, you'll get a buzzer. Seat yourself at any table that's available and when you're done, bus the tables yourself. They supply wipes and napkins by the tableware drop-off area and trash cans. ~Atmosphere~ Definitely a lounge space. There's bar stools and couches, giving the place a very casual vibe. There's a lot of indoor seats and I believe you can even sit in the apartment lobby that's connected to the restaurant. I saw a lot of people either chilling or working. ~Logistics~ Located on the corner of some busy streets, the restaurant doesn't seem to have its own dedicated parking lot. We actually walked to the restaurant from the Library of Congress. If you're a first-time customer, make sure to download the inkind app and order from there! When we visited, there was a deal for $10 off $30 minimum. ~Conclusion~ If you need a place to relax or caffeinate, Any Day Now is a perfect spot. They have a great happy hour menu and apparently they are one of the only (or few) in the area to have matcha cocktails! I tried both and they were both so good. Ube cake but the champion of the meal for me that blew my mind was the dumpling taco. When I saw it on the menu I thought meh that sounds super weird. A local neighborhood gem and officially my favorite cafe! It's such a comfortable co-working space to settle in and get work done - plus the food is amazing! It's clean and inviting with a variety of food options that cover the globe. I opted for an Iced Masala Chai Latte which was perfect along with a kimchi, egg and cheese which was so interesting but flavorful. Not a combo I'd think would go well together but it complemented the palette just fine. My wife and I came here twice during our mini dc trip it was so good. First day we shared the chicken club sando and the next morning we shared the hickory smoked bacon and the maple pork sausage scallion pancake sandwich. They were so tasty. I also got an americano with 1 pump of the brown butter sage flavor and it was probably one of the best coffees. They also let us bring in our dog which is always such a plus. A darling gem in DC! The vibe, drinks, food and service are excellent at Any Day Now. I sampled a beet with butternut squash puree and General Tso's chicken sando. The myriad of salad ingredients were fresh, hearty and so well paired to play off each other -- an absolute delight for the palate! The crispiness and thinness of the onion pancake on the sando was unexpected but it worked. I dipped the pancake and sando itself in their crisp chili oil and that took the sandwich to level 10. The crisp chili oil is one of the best I've ever had (and I've sampled quite a few). It has a nice faint seaweed/umami flavor that leaves you wanting more. Nailed it on the chili oil, Chef! Love the nods to Asian cuisine and culture. And don't sleep on the merch wall! The uber flavor is evident but it's not too sweet at all. The kimchi vegetarian breakfast sandwich is both light and filling. This is such a unique local cafe! I came on a sunday around noon. It was definitely busy, but it only took a few min for my order to be taken at the counter and 10-15 min for my food to be ready. Not sure about parking b/c I took the metro - it was under 10 min walk to navy yard station. It is very cute inside, with lots of natural light. Not a TON of tables, but enough for all the brunch-goers on a sunday. Many people camped out with laptops or books. I'm not sure how well they clean the tables between customers aside from just removing the dishes. I loved the unique idea of sandwiches on scallion pancakes. The grilled chicken club sandwich was reallyyyyy tasty and the side of smashed cucumbers was super flavorful. The ube latte was yummy but not MIND BLOWING.
