This is one of my favorite cafes in the DC area! They have more of an Asian take when it comes to food and drinks, which reminds me of home. I get various stuff, ranging from pastries to sandwiches. The service is always A+ quality too, I always talk to friendly employees who want to help me order. Had a lovely lunch here with some international family after a day of walking in DC. This spot was a little bit expensive, but the ambiance and food were amazing. The worker even spoke some French to accommodate my French family which was extremely thoughtful and kind. I ordered a club sandwich which came on a scallion pancake (crispy and delicious) and a cherry blossom iced latte (espresso was a little bitter). Our food was brought to us without even needing a table number (great memory by the person taking our order). I'm pretty sure this cafe is connected to either a hotel or apartment building. Any Day Now has a little something for everyone. Good food if you're there for a meal, good coffee and espresso drinks if you want more of a cafe experience. Plenty of seating from counter top to table to lounge style chairs. And yes, free WiFi. I had a Vietnamese iced coffee with ube and loved it, the espresso tasted great and the ube was a nice touch without overpowering the taste. I also had one of the breakfast scallion pancake sandwiches, super interesting! The scallion pancake served as the "bread" and was itself very tasty. I came to Any Day Now to do interview prep for a big interview. I have not been called back for a second round yet, so take that however you'd like. That said, if my focus slipped at all, it was only because this place is genuinely cute and very easy to settle into. It feels like the kind of coffee shop where you can stay for a while without feeling rushed or awkward about it. The seating setup is ideal if you actually plan to be productive. There is a couch for lounging, tables if you want to spread out, and counter seating if you are more in and out. It strikes that rare balance of feeling cozy without being cramped and energetic without being distracting. A great spot for thinking through answers, calming nerves, or just pretending you are the main character with a notebook and coffee. I went for breakfast and ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee with ube, which was excellent. It was sweet but not overly sweet, balanced, and honestly very drinkable. The ube added depth without turning it into dessert, which I appreciated since I was there to function, not spiral into a sugar crash. For food, I got their breakfast scallion pancake sandwich, vegetarian, no kimchi. I love kimchi, but only when it is grilled, and I did not want to risk it mid prep session. The sandwich was scallion pancake, steamed fluffy egg, and cheese, and it was delicious. Simple, comforting, and satisfying. Seating is open and you order at the counter. For lunch I ordered the chicken club sandwich and loved that they come on scallion pancakes, and the pancakes are cooked to perfection. My friend ordered the General Tso's sandwich and enjoyed it as well (check the empty plates)! They have breakfast sandwiches too if that's more your speed. I had an iced vanilla latte with oat milk to drink - bc we always need caffeine) which was also sweetened well, delicious, and needed no additives. The only complaint would be that we had to ask for water while sitting at the bar all day (10a - 5pm), and the music selection prior to 4pm, but the staff was friendly and knowledgeable when I asked for recommendations. It was busy when we came in since there was a matcha pop up going on but I was excited to try the scallion pancake sandwiches since I felt like it was more unique concept at least in this area. I've come to Any Day Now twice in a month to do work and I love it! I'm a sucker for an all-day styled-business and that's exactly what this is. I'm a fan of their chai lattes more than the matcha, but my friend LOVES the Vietnamese coffee with ube cold foam. The staff are nice and give you time to think over the plethora of options. The floor to ceiling windows help you ponder assignments and dream of a life where you maybe don't work full-time. The chili oil was like Szechuan/mala flavor, not very numbing but it was good. One order of sandwiches is kind of small so we also ordered some hash browns to share. Hash Browns: Comes with two pieces and they were super crunchy! Matcha Latte: Solid matcha drink but it comes unsweetened. I believe there was a bottle of simple syrup by the utensils so you could add as much as you want. ~Service~ After you order at the counter, you'll get a buzzer. Seat yourself at any table that's available and when you're done, bus the tables yourself. They supply wipes and napkins by the tableware drop-off area and trash cans. ~Atmosphere~ Definitely a lounge space. There's bar stools and couches, giving the place a very casual vibe. There's a lot of indoor seats and I believe you can even sit in the apartment lobby that's connected to the restaurant. I saw a lot of people either chilling or working. ~Logistics~ Located on the corner of some busy streets, the restaurant doesn't seem to have its own dedicated parking lot. We actually walked to the restaurant from the Library of Congress. If you're a first-time customer, make sure to download the inkind app and order from there! When we visited, there was a deal for $10 off $30 minimum. ~Conclusion~ If you need a place to relax or caffeinate, Any Day Now is a perfect spot. They have a great happy hour menu and apparently they are one of the only (or few) in the area to have matcha cocktails! I tried both and they were both so good. The bartender was very helpful with providing recommendations for food and his insight about the drinks available. I also got the wings and tried the Miso buffalo and Szechuan Lemon Pepper sauces. It's clean and inviting with a variety of food options that cover the globe. First day we shared the chicken club sando and the next morning we shared the hickory smoked bacon and the maple pork sausage scallion pancake sandwich. They were so tasty. A darling gem in DC! The vibe, drinks, food and service are excellent at Any Day Now. I sampled a beet with butternut squash puree and General Tso's chicken sando. The myriad of salad ingredients were fresh, hearty and so well paired to play off each other -- an absolute delight for the palate! The crispiness and thinness of the onion pancake on the sando was unexpected but it worked. I dipped the pancake and sando itself in their crisp chili oil and that took the sandwich to level 10. The crisp chili oil is one of the best I've ever had (and I've sampled quite a few). It has a nice faint seaweed/umami flavor that leaves you wanting more. Nailed it on the chili oil, Chef! Love the nods to Asian cuisine and culture. And don't sleep on the merch wall! The uber flavor is evident but it's not too sweet at all. The kimchi vegetarian breakfast sandwich is both light and filling. Be warned if you are planned to wear white, as the crispy chili oil that is paired with sandwiches will stain. This would be a great place to come to get some work or reading done during the day. This is such a unique local cafe! I came on a sunday around noon. It was definitely busy, but it only took a few min for my order to be taken at the counter and 10-15 min for my food to be ready. Not sure about parking b/c I took the metro - it was under 10 min walk to navy yard station. It is very cute inside, with lots of natural light. Not a TON of tables, but enough for all the brunch-goers on a sunday. Many people camped out with laptops or books. I'm not sure how well they clean the tables between customers aside from just removing the dishes. I loved the unique idea of sandwiches on scallion pancakes. The grilled chicken club sandwich was reallyyyyy tasty and the side of smashed cucumbers was super flavorful. The ube latte was yummy but not MIND BLOWING. I did think things were a bit overpriced but that's pretty typical of a local DC cafe. The sandwich was a bit small I thought for $15 with no side or add-ons. Any Day Now is one of my favorite coffee shops in D.C. I remember walking into it randomly while I was in the neighborhood and have been a returning customer ever since. My favorite things to order are the kimchi pancake that is cooked to perfection with some nice contrasting chili oil as a dipping sauce. I seriously could eat it everyday and have some weekly cravings for it too. In terms of coffee, you can't go wrong with any of their lattes. Something I haven't tried yet is their cocktails which I will be trying out in the near future. There are some areas of improvement for the spot I would say. Ordering Process: Sometimes it can be awkward walking in and not knowing to order at the counter. It makes it kind of weird since you walk in and see the host stand. Maybe some more clear messaging here would help customers better navigate the space. Outside Food/Drink Policy: I understand not having an outside food policy for a coffee shop. Unfortunately, there was one day where I brought in a shake and had to put it back in my car even though the entire coffee shop was empty. This rubbed me the wrong way especially since me and my party ordered food and coffee at the spot. I understand the policy but this was just a bummer for me. Came to Any Day Now on a Wednesday a little before noon. The space was pretty much totally empty with a really chill vibe. A great place to come and work. Quiet and casual with ample seating. Service was amazing! Ordered at the counter and everyone was so upbeat and friendly. Had the maple sausage scallion pancake sandwich which I have been really excited to try. Much different than what I expected. Overall enjoyed the sandwich it was super tasty and filling but a little one note and very very fatty. If I tried one again I'd go for the kimchi one. The sandwich was definitely missing some acid to cut through the fat. It's also served with a chili oil which is unnecessary since the pancake itself is already pretty greasy plus the oil doesn't actually add any flavor. Overall love the concept of the sandwich but think it could be executed a little better. My sandwich was also lukewarm/not heated all the way through so I don't think these are made to order. Also got the ube iced Vietnamese coffee and WOW best iced coffee ever!! Seriously a delicious sip. Very pretty to look at and not too sweet. Overall really enjoyed the cafe. The vibes were right and the service was great. Definitely liked my breakfast sandwhich and it was fun to try something new.
