I had left time in our journey to get a coffee on the way to the National Archives and after searching, selected Gregorys as it is not the Green Siren people, but it's also in my credit card rewards program. It was easy to find a seat on a weekday morning and after fiddling with their rewards program, I finally gave up and decided to simply order at the counter. A simple drip coffee with cream for me and a latte for Mrs. K. She enjoyed her blueberry muffin, giving me feedback that it had actual blueberries in it rather than fake blueberry essence. A plus! I had a bacon egg and cheese muffin, which was tasty. The coffees were served super hot, as was the muffin. It was a good few minutes before any of it was suitable for human consumption. Otherwise good. A nice little spot to sit for coffee or perhaps a meeting. A few people were at the big table near the back working on laptops. Rounding up from 3.5 stars. I liked the vibe on this Tuesday evening, and the service was courteous and helpful. But I feel like $7 was excessive for a small cold brew concoction that just tasted like a not- too-sweet chocolate milk with a bit of a twist (the Nu Brew). My friend got a vegetarian bao bite that she said was okay, she described it as being like a not very fluffy biscuit. She wasn't very impressed with her green apple peppermint tea, which she said basically tasted like apple juice with a hint of peppermint. Next time I'd probably stick with a hot beverage, I tend to have better luck with those. read more

Gregorys became my go-to coffee stop during a June week in DC; I came back three times in seven days. The iced latte with an extra shot and sugar-free vanilla was exactly how I like it, and the iced matcha latte was smooth and not too sweet. They also stock grab-and-go snacks like the Realsy date bites, which made it an easy breakfast. Fast, consistent, and friendly every single visit. read more

I usually don't have time to stop at Gregorys Coffee because there isn't one near my home or office--but this location was perfectly placed between the National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery of Art, so the stars aligned. It was a Saturday afternoon with a nice crowd--people connecting, coming and going, great energy without feeling chaotic. And let me tell you... the holiday menu is soooo good. We ordered the peppermint mocha and the rainbow cookie latte--YUM and YUM. Both were festive and perfectly balanced. The best part? No upcharge for almond milk. That alone earns major points. Official verdict: I am now a Gregorys Coffee fangirl. Will absolutely be back whenever I'm in the area. read more

A chain of coffee stores that are on the pricier side ($6+), but I do appreciate their Fall Oat Boy and their recent Black Forest Latte. Both of which are quite innovative and flavorful. They have a good selection of baked goods and hot drinks with small tables for gathering, but mostly for takeout. Service is relatively fast but it depends on when you go since there might be a line. You can always order ahead though! read more

Friendly staff but the food was substandard. Avocado spread instead of fresh avocados - even the Courtyard nearby has better food. I don't even know what was in the refresher - looked like layers of chemicals. read more

TLDR; delicious coffee! Too pricey to become a regular. This was our first time at a Gregory's Coffee. My husband and I often frequent a different major coffee chain but today we were in the mood to try something new. The barista recommended we try the Fall Oat Boy which was DELICIOUS! No surprise it's a best seller! That said, nearly $7 for a 12 oz coffee is WILD. We'll definitely be back but only in moderation. read more

So my coworker and I are detailed to work Downtown during these times and we needed a little boost of happiness. I decided to walk to Gregory's and upon arrival I was able to sit and downloaded the app and place an online order for me and my coworkers. I didn't feel rushed or overwhelmed and the environment is so calm and relaxing. Definitely a plus for introverted people like me lol My order was well packaged and everything is so delicious, flavorful and worth the money spent. On the way to one of our tours, I popped in and grabbed a latte from Gregory's as well as a blueberry scone. The service was quick and friendly, and the shop is cute and cozy. This one even had two birds flying around. It was a very cold day, so they probably snuck in. My latte was very delicious and complemented the scone nicely. The scone wasn't like a traditional scone however, it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It wasn't too sweet and had the perfect amount of blueberries and walnuts. The walnuts gave it a nice nutty flavor. Apparently, they have these scattered in various places, including one in Southern California, which I will have to visit when I am back home from DC . Enjoy! read more

My mom and I stopped by for a quick bite before hitting the Smithsonian museum. The service was good; the baristas were nice and helpful. My mom ordered tea with an almond croissant and I ordered an iced latte with a butter croissant. I forgot to take a picture but I remember the croissants being relatively small. They were however very good. This coffee shop was cute and a great break for us from our walk to the museums. read more

It was toasty and humid and we were walking everywhere in the DC area with caffeine withdrawal. Gregorys was the closest one to us. We've never seen a Gregorys but learned that it's a chain that's everywhere. Their salted caramel cold brew is so good. The salted caramel did not overpower the coffee they blended together perfectly. I prefer this over Starbucks any day. The decor is modern and cool. They are opening one close to where I live. I'll be trying other drinks for sure read more

Lots of seatings and cleanliness around the place. Bustling of professionals on go. The service was nice and quick! Nice people working behind the counter. Love their cold brew selections: I tried Hall & Oats cold brew and it was so delicious and quicker than ordering something handcrafted coffee if you're in a hurry. Perfect balance of coffee, oat milk and cinnamon flavor but it wasn't overpowering of sugar/sweetness like other coffee places. Any coffee from here can't go wrong actually. I've enjoyed all of my visits at this Gregorys location. It is a good change of pace from the larger, local chain coffee shops monopolizing the coffee market in Washington, D.C. Gregorys invests in high quality coffee and baked goods. The dining area of the coffee shop is upscale and inviting compared to your contemporary coffee shop. There's almost a feel of dine-in restaurant turned coffee shot. The customer service is always very friendly and in fact, I've been able to spark meaningful conversation with every barista I have encountered there. Order fulfillment has also been consistently quick and accurate. I appreciate that on every visit they always ask to warm the pastries I order. I like their cold brew coffee which is delicious. Overall, a good experience and I will continue to visit when in the area. read more

As far as coffee chains go, I'm a big fan of Gregorys (and it's a regional chain, so still pretty localized). The coffee is solid and the food options are great (especially if you're vegan or gluten-free)--personally I recommend the spicy avo toast or the energy balls. The rotating seasonal drinks are fun too. The service can get a little slow or chaotic during busy times though! read more

We came here twice on our one day trip to DC and had three different drinks altogether. All three were very good. The first was the blueberry dream which is one of their specials now with the choice of espresso or matcha (we picked matcha) with hints of blueberry and butter pecan. LOVED! We came back for the refreshing prickly pear matcha and popular salted caramel cold brew, and both were the perfect afternoon pick me up. Service was quick and excellent. The interior decor gives good vibes. Please open a location in Northern VA! read more

A Welcome Return to Gregory's Coffee I wanted to give you all an update on my ongoing love affair with Gregory's Coffee here in Washington, DC. Since my first visit, I've already found myself back four times. I guess you could say I'm hooked! I've been a bit of a creature of habit each time, guilty of ordering the deluxe breakfast sandwich and pairing it with their perfectly brewed Americano. Each visit has been a great start to my day. Gregory's unique take on breakfast sandwiches, especially their deluxe on a light and fluffy croissant, continues to impress me. The café remains a clean and welcoming haven, and I've really appreciated the friendly and attentive service from the staff. The outdoor seating has been the perfect spot to enjoy my coffee and soak in the morning vibes of the city. I hope I don't get sick of these breakfast sandwiches because I'm literally hooked on them! Looking forward to another great start on Monday morning. See you all then! read more

Hey friends! I was working outdoors nearby and needed something warm on my break! So of course I came for a latte lol. This cozy shop offers various kinds of coffee, smoothies, vegan breakfast options, pastries and more! I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk. It was good! I'm also not a huge coffee fan so I'm not hard to please lol. Next time I'll add mocha or caramel for added flavor. Service was very friendly. I appreciate the cashier asking for my milk-type preference. She also checked in and asked if I wanted my drink super sweet or not. Interior is intimate. Good option for telework. Parking is paid and limited. Minus one point because my drink took a while to be ready. I overall enjoyed my visit! And latte kept me warm :) read more

This place was recommended to me. Based on this first time experience with this location in Washington DC I really think that if you don't mind having mediocre cafe (in my case a cup of matcha latte) and food then by all means go check out this place. The other problem with this place is their customer service. It's too early for me to use the excuse of having a long work day for these employees but rudeness should never be in that scenario. I've never been treating so rudely at any cafe whether it be a local small town cafe of a large one such as Starbucks. So here's the breakdown 1. Food - eh 2. Drinks - could be better 3. Customer Service - need better training a. Lack of respect b. Lack of customer awareness c. Lack of politeness (thank you or have a nice day would be nice) 4. Cleanliness - need to do better. read more

This is what I call gentrification coffee. The interior is sterile and soulless yet clean with that distinct "death of detail" style that entices the sort of young people with money that have been shifting the demographics of DC for decades now. Nothing about this is good, but you can feel safe here. This is what characterizes gentrification businesses. I went there one afternoon to find that they had no decaf coffee and only a poor selection of pastries. 1.7/5 read more

DRINKS I ordered a medium, 16-oz iced mocha with regular milk. It wasn't too sweet and was overall a great grab-and-go drink if in the area. FOOD They have a variety of pastries (cookies, croissants, etc.) and other reheated items available for purchase. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly. Many people were coming in and out, and they are very efficient with the flow of customers. AMBIANCE The inside of the store is neat. The bathroom code doesn't work on the electronic receipt (as of 5/2024), but you can ask the cashier for the updated code. Ample seating is available inside the shop. Many people were there to catch up with friends, work/study, or sit in for a break from sightseeing. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity. Parking garages are also located relatively nearby at a fee. read more

I've been looking for a good coffee spot in DC! Gregory's was great. I went with a friend to grab an afternoon coffee around 11 and was pleasantly surprised! There was no line, the baristas greeted us promptly and took our order. I had an iced oat milk latte, my friend had the mango chili refresher, we liked both of them. I didn't try the food but the pastry and breakfast sandwich section looked very similar to Starbucks variety (however, the coffee was MUCH BETTER than Starbucks!) There were plenty of places to sit but we took our drinks to go. The shop was really cute, they had a bunch of mugs and merch for sale whuke you're waiting on line. No parking, typical DC. read more

This was a convenient breakfast option a few steps away from the Kimpton Monaco where I stayed. Ordered the vegan burrito and fall oat boy based on recs here on yelp. Service was good not great. The vegan burrito came with choice of salsa or guac so that was really nice to have. I chose the guac and it paired perfectly with the warm burrito. The burrito was not too big or small and well seasoned. They grilled the tortilla after wrapping it and that is a necessity for me! However I wasn't too impressed with the fall oat boy. It satisified the coffee craving but found it too milky for my taste. But any place that has oatmilk is awesome in my book! This is a great spot to pick up coffee before heading to work or take a seat and read a book before you start the day. The interior is stylish, a welcoming environment to sit and dine. The staff are friendly and attentive to adapting the coffees for oat milk or other substitutions. Coffee here is superb. Best around that I've had all year. I had the caramel macchiato and it was 10/10. If you like healthy sandwiches, I had the "skinny" but it's like 8/10 for overall sandwiches and 10/10 for healthy sandwiches. Next time I might try the New Yorker one that my coworker swears by. My love for Gregory's makes it my perfect 300th review!! I tried Gregory's for the first time around the first week of February and have since returned over a dozen times and made a stop at a NY location while traveling! It's usually pretty busy/noisy in the mornings when I stop in, but that's highly expected for a coffee shop and I still don't have waits that have ever exceeded 7ish minutes. Favorite coffee: Hall and Oats. As a big fan of cinnamon and oat milk, this drink overs me all the things I love. However I've also heard stellar reviews for the Honey Badger and the Nu Brew (If you're a Nutella fan). Favorite food: the DMV breakfast sandwich! Yum yum yum. I gladly skip breakfast at home some mornings and opt for this delicious morning treat. Gregory's is a gem and they deserve all the stars.
