The pastries were really good. The service was nice and quick since there was a long line. However, for dine in it gets a bit weird because no one mentioned the drinks wouldn't be brought to us so we were waiting for a bit until we went to ask for it. The ambiance was the usual for a busy cafe.

    Croissant and Jerusalem Bagel

Enjoyed the croissant but not the chicken pita as much. They're a franchise. The croissant warmed up was very nice and flaky. The Jerusalem bagel was okay, I wouldn't order it again. The pita bread for chicken pita was so fluffy but idk I just wasn't into it as much.

I'm a sucker for black and white tiled floors. Is that why I like Tatte? At Tatte you order at the cash register, get a number on a little stand, and a server tracks you down at your table. It's pretty quick. Tatte has bakeries in DC, NYC and Boston. It's a great concept: a European style bakery plus coffee shop that way better than the large coffee chains. Big selection of excellent pastry reflecting Tatte 's farmers market origins. Plus fabulous looking shakshuka which I have yet to try. Note to Tatte: I'd love to have you open here in Atlanta.

Okay.. so I miraculously chose this coffee shop out of the others that were on every coffee shop and I'm so glad that I did. We went in at about 10 AM on a Saturday. It was packed at that time but later died down. First, we were greeted by Max who I later found out was visiting from another store. He was so charismatic, fun, and welcoming. He is also very persuasive and had me wanting ALL of the pastries. Secondly, Libra was everywhere but in all the right places at the right time consistently. She too was welcoming and greeted us with a beautiful smile. Third, Cristian is obviously the youngest out of the crew and I'm not sure what his position is but he was running the show in the back. He was dressed nicely and greeted us with a beautiful dimpled smile. This particular location is like a well oiled machine. No job was too little or too big for anyone and they all worked well together. I'm so glad that I chose this location over any other coffee shops as the service and professionalism was top notch. Thank you for a great experience.

Fresh Corn & Avocado Farro Bowl

Came to Tatte for a casual business lunch and had a great experience! There are a good amount of options for vegetarians- I got the Fresh Corn & Avocado Farro Bowl (grain salad of farro, fresh corn, sugar snap peas, baby arugula, heirloom cherry tomatoes, goat cheese, dill and pickled red onion in a mustard labneh topped with sliced avocado). It was super light and fresh. I really enjoyed all the components- the ingredients complemented each other well and provided great textural diversity (creamy cheese, sweet corn, crunchy peas, savory avocado). Service was fast, ambiance is really nice (the space is big and very open, lots of seating but it does get busy). 10/10 would recommend!

Great food. Slightly overpriced and inconsistent. Service feels rushed. The atmosphere is great for work/studying.

Tatte Bakery & Café - A Familiar Pastry Haven, with Room for Improvement in Service As a frequent patron of various Tatte locations across the city, I've come to appreciate the brand's consistency in offering quality fare and beautiful, sunlit interiors. This particular branch benefits from a convenient and accessible location an ideal stop for those in search of a quick caffeine fix or a leisurely bite. The menu offers what one expects from the Tatte experience: a reliable selection of coffee and tea, light bites including their popular ham and cheese croissant sandwich, and an enticing array of pastries that are, for many (myself included), the true draw. The pastry case elegantly presented and filled with seasonal and signature offerings, remains one of Tatte's enduring strengths. The ambience here is typical of a bustling urban café: fast-paced, moderately crowded, and dependent on first-come, first-serve seating. Orders are placed and paid for at the counter, and if preparation requires a bit more time, guests are given a table number for table-side service. Unfortunately, while the culinary and atmospheric elements were largely in line with expectations, my experience with one particular staff member at the pastry counter left much to be desired. While I understand that isolated service lapses can occur, the interaction was discouraging. A simple question seeking a personal recommendation between the Dark Chocolate Mousse and the Coffee Caramel Mousse was met not with hospitality or even neutrality, but with dismissiveness. I was told, flatly, that the employee "doesn't eat anything here." While honesty has its place, a more professional or customer-friendly response would have been appreciated perhaps referencing customer favorites or which may have been more diplomatic. I ultimately opted for the Coffee Caramel Mousse, drawn by its uniqueness compared to the more commonly encountered chocolate variety. When I later inquired about the location of utensils, the response again from the same cashier was limited to a silent, curt gesture across the room. No words. No acknowledgment. While I'm not one to dwell on minor slights, such interaction creates a lingering impression that could undermine an otherwise pleasant visit. To be clear, this critique reflects a single encounter with a single staff member not a condemnation of the entire team or establishment. However, from a management perspective, this type of feedback is crucial. Even well-regarded institutions benefit from periodic training refreshers and customer service recalibration. Small improvements in engagement and professionalism could elevate the guest experience significantly. In summary, Tatte continues to deliver on its core strengths: attractive spaces, high-quality pastries, and reliable light fare. The Coffee Caramel Mousse was rich and satisfying, and the setting, while unremarkable, is familiar and functional. Prices remain on the premium side, but for many, the quality justifies the cost. That said, hospitality is a key part of the café experience, and this location would benefit from addressing the service gaps that can erode customer loyalty over time. With improved service, this visit might easily have merited a four-star rating.

    Hot chocolate
    Zeb R.

Came in for some hot chocolate. It's sooo good and made with milk. It's nice and thick, chocolatey. It's Christmas Eve Eve and there was basically no lines at 12:10pm. DC tends to be dead during the holidays, which I prefer. Got my hot chocolate really quick.

Loved this latte!!!! The tahini added a lovely depth of flavor and perfectly complemented the pumpkin spice. Egg plate was standard but a decent light lunch.

Pretty cafe, but the food and drinks don't live up to the hype! Ambiance & Service: This Tatte location is spacious with plenty of seating, but it was packed on a Thursday afternoon. Long line, and while food came out quickly, it was served cold. Food & Drink: Iced Matcha with Vanilla: Barely any vanilla flavor--underwhelming. Halloumi & Sunny-Side Sandwich: Tasty, but needed a sauce for flavor and was served too cold. TL;DR: Busy spot with fast service, but the food and drinks were just okay--style over substance.

    Croque Madame
    Francisco S.

After a nice experience at a different location, we chose to try a different Tatte, one closer and more convenient. Even though this one is not at a historic town, it still has a very clean and minimalist style with friendly staff. This time we tried the croquet madame and the croissant breakfast sandwich. We left yesterday's location wishing we could also fit these two, as they looked quite delicious. However, this time I have to say that looks were deceiving. Even though both sandwiches looked good, the flavors were just ok. There was nothing wrong with them. They did the job and that was fine. But the location in Georgetown wowed us with flavors and textures, leaving this experience to be just ok. However, their chocolate butter cookies were to die for!!! Take a few or 10 for the road if you must!

So yum! The iced matcha latte is the perfect color and staff is so nice! Good place to sit down with friends, as well.

    Christine C.

I came across three Tatte cafes in DC area. It seems they are located in most of the major CBDs (DuPont Circle, Georgetown Uni and Smithsonian Museum areas). The pastries and coffees are as good as their interior designs -- classic and tasty!

They are open until 1 PM on Saturdays, we reached at around 11:30 AM and I was half hoping for them to be out of most items. Fortunately, even though they were super packed, we were able to find all of the items we were looking for - thanks to the hard working staff as they continue to make their pastries until closing - unlike so many other bakeries these days that make a certain amount and call it a day! Now to the food, everything we had was absolutely phenomenal! I am not a donut person but I loved theirs as they were very flavorful and weren't too sweet. I definitely prefer their Ube and Pandan over the Black sesame donut. The Matcha chocolate croissant and the Ube Kouign Amann were my favorites of the bunch! I cannot recommend them enough, this will surely be my first stop every time I am in DC!

The space is a pretty cute, modern café with cherry blossom décor and a great mix of sweet and savory pastries. We honestly tried almost everything Garlic Scallion Bun - Soft, lightly toasted with just the right crunch. Inspired by a Taiwanese garlic bun, it was super easy to eat and one of my favorites (9/10). Matcha Chocolate Twice-Baked Croissant - A rectangular croissant absolutely loaded with matcha and chocolate, topped with matcha powder. It was almost a bit too heavy on the matcha for me, and the bitterness overpowered the chocolate. Banana Chocolate Twice-Baked Croissant - Banana cream on top with banana chocolate inside. Pretty straightforward--tasted exactly like what you'd expect from a banana chocolate croissant. Ube Cheese Kouign Amann - Unique sweet-and-savory combo. The ube adds a subtle sweetness while the cheese gives it a creamy balance. Rich and slightly dense, and I just wished there was a bit more filling to balance the pastry. Miso Garlic Salted Bread - One of my top picks. Savory, buttery, and paired with a slightly sweet brioche-like base that balances everything really well. Elote Bread - Corn-topped savory bread with a nice sweetness and texture. This and the miso garlic bread were tied for my favorites. Strawberry Passionfruit Kouign Amann - Fruity and rich, but a bit filling overall. I just wished there was more filling to balance the pastry. Sugared Donut - Simple and classic, just a soft, sugary donut done right. Drinks: * Strawberry Matcha & Mango Matcha - Both layer fruit puree with matcha, but the flavors stay quite separate rather than blending together. * Vietnamese Coffee with Cold Foam - Strong coffee base with strawberry-flavored cold foam. It's pretty sweet overall with less of a coffee-forward taste, but still smooth and enjoyable. * White Mocha Latte - More coffee-forward compared to the sweeter drinks, which I actually preferred. Overall, I loved my visit--great spot for both savory and sweet pastries with creative flavor combinations and a lot to try. I definitely preferred the savory items over sweet here particularly the garlic scallion bun!

Makes business easier, but not as attractive for price point for customers. I'll remember to keep it to coffee and pastries from now on. Chicken pita was good, a bit heavy on the parsley but loved the dressing. Tuna sandwich was a hit. Pastries are always good. My pistachio latte was chewy bc it had grainy bits of pistachio in it. I was so excited to try some of these harder to find pastries. I had a Turkish beef börek and a cheese finger börek. They warmed them up for me, but they still weren't very warm - I'd probably ask for them to warm them up twice next time. The beef börek was good; the cheese finger börek was good, too, if maybe a teensy bit dry. I also got one of their signature coffees. While these coffees sound interesting and delicious and creative, I wish there an option or two that weren't as sweet. I tried the Sultan's Velvet, which was just way too sweet for me. Next time, I'll stick to a classic coffee - an americano or a cappuccino - since they have it all. There's quite a bit of seating - some downstairs, some upstairs, and some outside. I sat down and read my book while I enjoyed my pastries. It's definitely the kind of place that is comfortable to sit and enjoy. The customer service was friendly and fast. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by Caspian Crust. Georgetown is lucky to have several pastry shops/bakeries, but Caspian Crust is different and stands out. Its focus on Turkish and Azerbaijani pastries means that there's something for everyone - some classics for those folks who like what they like with their coffee, more savory pastries with meat or cheese or olives, and some sweet but less common pastries as well. Great flavors and variety. It's also cozy, comfortable, and casual, with good customer service. I'd be happy to return.
