    Tasty coffee!
    Delaney S.

I located this cafe through Google Maps and what a find! It is located on the corner of a building and a true hidden gem. Everything was made fresh to order. I ordered a caramel iced coffee, and it was so smooth and recharged me. I also ordered a ham and egg croissant. This took a few minutes to freshly make, and they brought it out to the table for me. It was much larger than I expected. The croissant tasted so fresh with ham, egg, and this really good special house sauce. It was very filling and not over the top in price. This spot had several people working outside on the front patio while enjoying their coffees. Inside is very casual and cozy. I would recommend this spot for anyone in the area wanting to grab a quick breakfast or coffee to go. It's a place that takes pride in what they serve.

This tiny little cafe right between Dupont and U St was a great stop to fuel up before shopping! I ordered the croissant ham and cheese. Loved that they pressed it to make it a lil crispy and the house sauce was the perfect mustard-y savory touch! My mom really enjoyed her omelette and latte as well. It's really small in there but very cozy and homey and is probably a great place to get some work done for a few hours!

I was staying at the Capital Hilton for a conference and wanted to get out, go for a walk, see some neighborhoods, and try a local cafe. Au Lait Cafe was a good choice! Cool space w both funky indoor and outdoor seating. Polite server who made my latte and mushroom & spinach omelette to order. Great space with lots of books, cool paintings and posters, plenty of seating.

Cappuccino best milk in the city. Fluffy foam. The sandwiches are really tasty also. Nice vibe.

Quant and cozy. Coffee was good. Service quick. Food options pretty limited. Good if you want to grab a coffee and sit for a bit

Good neighborhood coffee spot. OK croissants. OK service. On a weekday (after the morning rush) it's a good place to sit and read.

Ordered the Le Poulet Sandwich- I could've done better at the Safeway deli. And then to be charged $14 for it? Not impressed.

You order your food first, then find seating. Food comes out fairly quick. Dishes I've tried and would recommend: Chicken Pita, Turkey BLAT, Spiced Shrimp & Avocado Mousse Salad, Chickpea & Fava Plate, Lamb Meatball & Labneh Shakshuka, and Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich--there's so much I want to try but haven't yet! A five-minute walk towards downtown from the Mayflower hotel made Tatte Bakery an ideal spot for breakfast. It also has nice views of Farragut Square. I went with the House Full breakfast that included Applewood bacon, eggs, potato fritters with tomato jam and mint parmasean, and house made sourdough. I was curious to try one of their best sellers - monkey bread, and it didn't disapoint. A solid breakfast with on point service before catching the metro to Virginia. I really enjoyed my visit here and would return in a heartbeat.
