Came to this location with my husband and sister-in-law. We ordered the build your own omelette with roasted potatoes, french toast with berries, white chocolate chip coconut macadamia cookie, pain au chocolate croissant, blueberry scone, peppermint hot chocolate, and chai tea latte. Total came out to approximately $55. What's hot - Menu. Good variety and there appears to be something for everyone, even possibly vegans. There are sweet and savory options, eggs, french toast, salads, sandwiches, etc... - Quality. Excellent! All 3 of us really enjoyed the food that we ordered. Their french toast and omelettes are delicious. My husband particularly liked the maple syrup that was served with his french toast, because the maple flavor tasted a bit stronger than your average maple syrup. Their pastries are also delicious! Soft, good texture and not too sweet. Given the softness, my best guess is that their sweet treats are recently made. - Service. Pretty good. We did not wait very long for our orders to be ready. The hot foods, like the omelettes, french toast, and drinks, appear to be freshly made. - Price. Good value for money, given the quality and portions. - Location. Convenient location in D.C. However, given the location, be prepared for it to get busy quickly, which means decent lines and wait times. What's not - Interior space. Very tight squeeze inside. There are tables and chairs inside, but their biggest tables can only fit 4 people. If you have children with a stroller or whatever, be prepared to not have room inside. They have outside seating, but that's only conducive to when the weather is warm. This place appears to be popular, which means it can get packed very quickly and seating can be difficult to find. - Acoustics. They play relatively loud music inside, which makes it difficult to have conversations with those you're with. That the interior is small, the music travels easily, which does not help. - Omelette. Even though I liked the flavor of my omelette, it was rather thin. I prefer my omelette to be more weighty/fluffy in texture. Additionally, cheese is not automatically included with the omelette. I ordered mushrooms, red peppers, spinach, and bacon in my omelette. I mistakenly believed cheese was automatically included, but I was wrong. - Parking. Is not easy to find given the location. There is street parking, but it's very difficult to come by. Final Answer Would like to come back, but probably not a first choice given the tight squeeze of the interior. If I do return, would more likely than not order takeaway. read more

Very good and stylish French place near Le Library of Congress (and right next to Pete's Diner) that has great French sandwiches (their ham and butter sandwich called Jambon Beurre is very good) as well as iced chai lattes. Service prompt and they bring the food out to you as well. Also two adorable black cats (what's the French word for cat? Chat?) play outside as well. Requested roasted potatoes instead was given cold potatoes and then I was given the roasted potatoes after which tasted worse than the cold potatoes- roasted potatoes completely bland. My wife and I tried this and were not exactly sure what to expect. It seemed like a local favorite and it became very obvious once we got there. There was a significant flow of customers during our time there. The wait, despite the flow of customers, did not seem to be unreasonable. The space inside was pretty tight but there was plenty of room to sit outside or wait for a table to open inside. The food was very delicious! They use Illy for their coffee, without a doubt some of the best commercial coffee in the world. Le Bon was just around the corner from the church we went to on Sunday. We had coffee, a breakfast sandwich, scones and macrons. It was a wonderful meal. We made sure to go back. They were playing French music that perfectly set the atmosphere for having breakfast in a little French cafe. Close your eyes, and you will be transported. read more

Rounding up a 3.5 to a 4 star for overall experience and value. Le Bon is a tiny little cafe that serves economical food, not far from the Capitol & Library of Congress. We arrived just before a rush on a Saturday morning. While cute French music adds to the ambiance, the interior feels cramped. Sitting at inside tables means you'll likely have the line traveling right next to you while you eat, unless you snag the one little booth tucked by the window. We chose to eat outside since the weather was nice. At one point something in the kitchen was burned or caught fire, filling the entire place with smoke, so that was a good choice! Our food and coffee came out in timely fashion. We decided to eat here once I saw the açaí bowl on the menu. Just what I was craving. Served with generous portions of granola, coconut, and fruit. I wish the açaí smoothie part had been a bit thicker, but I was still quite satisfied with my choice. Both my husband and my son enjoyed their breakfast as well, having ordered the baked egg strata and the baked French toast respectively. Prices were very reasonable. Coffee was good and serve hot, which I appreciate as there's nothing worse than a lukewarm coffee, imho. read more

This cafe was a great location for a cheap and quick bite. The service here was fast as it is just counter service and my food came out hot and quickly. The omelette was really great and definitely worth it for the price, however the potatoes were cold and not tasty. The seating inside is quite limited but there is a nice small cafe vibe. Latte was okay but the dirty chai was tasty. They have some small tables inside and a few outside. Fair warning we went at 9am on a Friday and it was popping. Additional side note that I don't think matters but just an fyi no public restrooms. Everyone that worked there was lovely and was quick. At about $11, this salad hit it out of the park. With fresh ingredients, delicious flavors, and a filling mix of ingredients, I was not disappointed. As a 150g of caffeine a day person, the cappuccino provides a solid energy boost (small, medium, and large options). Several of the pastries I've sampled are solid, including the chocolate croissant and assorted cookies. On a warm weather day, the outdoor tables are lovely, but it's super small inside. Service isn't usually important to me, but I've had noticeably above average friendly cashiers each time I've gone. Overall, it's a worthwhile coffee chat location! read more
