    Boba tea
    Rut N.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is clean and air conditioned.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has many seatings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came here because it was raining. I got the Boba and it was honestly really sweet. I don't know how many size they sell but it's really huge $8.25 which is the most expensive boba I ever had in my life. I had to try the sandwich they look pretty good. Service is really fast.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The environnement is a great place to get some work done in a cafe setting and has lots of natural sunlight![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was quick and very attentive. I ordered the Thai tea with passion boba and a blueberry muffin. The tea was delicious and the muffin was moist and soft!

Everything was simply perfect! First of all I reached out to Bread Me Cafe to ask if they had bagels & they replied. They do have bagels . . . REAL bagels from NY. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Cafe is spacious & bright.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a wide variety of bagels & spreads. Their menu is also fairly wide with hot & cold sandwiches & they're open until 4:00. Bread Me Cafe is well staffed so the service is speedy/friendly. Just a few blocks from our home ~ we'll be back. Oh! They also had free tasty samples:)

Not very appetizing, threw the whole sandwich away.

Not sure where this bacon came from but I'm not eating it. It was burnt, hard and it smelled bad. Very disapointing, first time here.

Found this place on accident while getting lost my first day in DC. So glad I did! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vide is laid back and the people behind the counter were so kind.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a breakfast sandwich which was so simple but so delicious. Their croffle was delicious - there was plenty of cream and the berries added some nice sweetness. Also grab a boba. Came back the next day and will be there tomorrow.

This has become my favorite place. I live right nearby and I've hit up the cafe at least once a week. The staff are super friendly and easy-going, giving such great neighborhood gem vibes. Everything I've tried on the menu so far has been super tasty, including the PB&J bagel pictured, the breakfast sandwich, turkey cranberry sandwich, and chicken pesto panini. They've only been open for a few weeks with a soft opening menu, and even still, there's variety and tasty options for everyone. I'm also thrilled to have such a great coffee shop nearby; their iced lattes are to die for. And of course, the bubble tea is incredibly good, and under $7 so a great price. I can't recommend Bread Me enough!

This was one of the most unique shakshukas I'd ever had... It literally tasted like a curry dish you might get at your local Indian restaurant, with a bit of a brunch flair to it. The curry itself had a wee bit of spice and was a bit sweet - but that could have been from the sweet potatoes. The chicken was served in a bowl on the side, which felt a bit... odd... I would've expected it to be incorporated into the main dish. It was kind of bland and a bit lukewarm, so I don't know that I'd order that again... but I would definitely order this again!

My steak was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, while the broccoli had the perfect crisp texture that added a nice balance to the meal. The restaurant itself has a beautiful rustic yet modern atmosphere. The dim lighting creates a cozy feel, with most of the brightness coming from the natural sunlight that fills the space. To be honest, I almost skipped it entirely after seeing the line, but I'm glad I stuck it out. Although I couldn't make out the menu until my time to order I was proud of what I ended up with- the halawa honey, a smooth balanced coffee for the coffee lover seeking a sweet treat, and the smoked amba chicken pita. Since it was later in the day, they were out of some of their baked goods items. So we grabbed the bbq lamb shoulder wood-fired pita sandwich and shatta batata tots to share. The sandwich was big in size, so you can easily share it. My daughter and I shared it and we both liked how filling it was and the ingredients were fresh. The lamb was super tender and the combination of flavors were amazing. The tots were also seasoned well. It also came with a tasty creamy dipping sauce. I did wished they were cut in layers like a hasselback potato like I saw on the show. I thing texturally it would have been more interesting than the current tots which had chunky pieces of potato in squares. For the drinks my sister got the coconut cardamom and I got the peanut dalgona. The peanut dalgona drink is the drink to get. I loved the flavor profile and the creamy topping. The place was busy. At the end of the day reservations aren't required. It's sit where ever available. Overall we had a great time. We would come back again.

That said, a couple missteps that should not have occurred took this review into the negative realm. Let's start with the positive. This appears to be a great new addition to the neighborhood, and I hope it is supported. The appetizers were delicious and nicely presented. The pistachio feta with grilled pita was tasty and interesting. The halloumi with orange marmalade was as well. The hostess was engaging and friendly. The atmosphere was calming with a touch of casual refinement. One of the entrees was delicious (the scallops and grits). I'd order all three items mentioned so far, again. The negative. The second entree was the short rib. It was tender and.... Wow, way too salty. A shame because it was otherwise well cooked and nicely plated. But whoa. When the hostess came by, my girlfriend kindly said it was a bit salty. I "refined" her answer and said she was being nice, but it was very salty. The hostess went to note this for the kitchen (a positive for her), and because we are on the first floor outside the kitchen window I heard the conversation. The chef responded that he knew what had happened. Earlier when preparing the short rib someone (in his words) blasted it with salt. What this tells me is that they knew they'd made something close to inedible but served it anyway. At the end of our meal we had leftovers of the two apps and the short rib. We asked for a bit of extra pita to take home and they provided. Then the bill arrived. Not only was there no adjustment for the inedible short rib, but they charged us $2 for the pita. The least they could have done was just given us the pita. Ah well. Those two missteps; 1) serving a known and improperly prepared entree, and 2) not doing something to make good when reported, have led to this sadly negative review for a place that could and should have gotten a positive one. Hopefully someone there will see this, and the experience and review will be a learning opportunity that will help them thrive.
