Food/Drinks: The pastries at this location were delicious, and I loved the fact that there was a variety of pastries to choose from. They also had a lot of different coffee and latte options. We loved everything we got it was very tasty and worth the price. I would also say that the food aesthetic was definitely there! Location: This location is a casual coffee spot where you can sit down, have breakfast and pastries, and enjoy your coffee. It's a great place to go with friends, for a quick meeting, or even to get some work done. It's a very spacious location. It had a good amount of tables to occupy. We were visiting and walked here from our hotel, so I'm not sure how convenient parking is in this area. Service: Service was quick and effective. I had a good experience here. This place seems to be booming all the time but it was close to my hotel so thought I'd give it a go. I had a kind of weird (though not rude) interaction with a staff member regarding politics, though I appreciate how direct he was and he wasn't rude about it. Just felt weird while I was trying to order a bagel. Food is generally very good though I think I would pass on the Halloumi breakfast sandwich next time - wasn't as flavorful as I thought it could have been. Had breakfast here with the fam. Food was good (I had the smoked salmon, avocado and egg breakfast sandwich). I have to give credit to the server (delivering food to the patrons). He has a tough job quickly bring food to the customer's table, when there's very little order to the table and the signs aren't easy to find/see. Their black coffee is solid, strong but too small. It could have been thicker (that's my preference). It's better than most places I've gone to. Also ordered the cinnamon pecan rose pastry. It looks better than it tastes. Bread could have been flaky and buttery, but it wasn't and also would've benefited by being slightly sweeter. Also ordered a passion fruit krembo pastry, but haven't gotten to it yet... We ate outside, being s nice spring day. The table staff should clear the tables quicker, because the wild bird population was feasting on customer's leftovers. As a loyal fan of Tatte, I had to stop by to grab some pastries for my road trip. This time I got try their ham and cheese croissant. While on the oily side, it was still flakey with a good balance of protein and cheese. The halva chocolate chip cookie is solid and always hits the spot. As usual, I got the tatte house latte which confers sweetness from the halva and a bit of nuttiness mixed with the espresso. What I love is that despite the expansion over the years, each Tatte location offers consistent pastries, dishes, and drinks. Wonderful breakfast at Tatte! High quality chocolate in the hot chocolate (the whole milk didn't hurt), and wonderful pastries and a breakfast plate for the more high maintenance diners at our table. Had a wonderful conversation with a bird about the health benefits of Tylenol for early morning travel. :) Also stole bacon.... Tatte was the perfect breakfast stop, has a nice vibe inside and super convenient since it was just a block away from the Hilton we were staying at. Walking in, it's impossible not to be tempted by the pastry counter, which was packed with beautiful baked goodies (especially the pistachio treats I almost caved for). I went with the smoked salmon avocado and egg dish instead, and honestly, it was the best way to start the day--fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I needed to fuel our long walk through monuments and museums. My husband ordered the French toast, which he loved, and our friends had eggs and bacon. The cappuccinos were great too. It did get quite crowded, but the food is worth it. I absolutely love that Tatte has so many locations. I have a great experience at all the ones I've been to so far and always experience great service. We ordered several items on the menu and from the bakery. I think my favorite baked good was the cheese boureka. I also loved the leek, potato, and spinach quiche. Tatte's always hits. Every time. The service is so quick, so the long lines are never that intimidating. I've had the Shakshuka here so many times and it never gets old. You could easy share with someone else - it's pretty big. Delicious! And by far my favorite thing. The avocado tartine is also good - filling and flavorful. The service was quick and attentive! The interior is beautiful. However, I was very disappointed in the matcha latte I ordered. For over $6, I expect that the matcha latte actually has matcha flavor. All I could taste was the whole milk. I would not order this again and feel ripped off. I tried to order the seasonal Mango Ginger refresher drink, but they were sold out at 11:30am. Had a wonderful brownie with walnuts with coffee, one night -- Yummy. returned for breakfast next day and was disappointed with scrambled eggs not tasty and not cooked well, the hash brown type potato with a cheese on it was awful and bacon was not great either. My group also has lunch one day from them and the sandwiches were fine. But, I have mixed feelings and mixed experiences with the food. The counter staff and those who brought food to me were fine. We were staying at a hotel just a block away and decided to give this place a try, but before I arrived, I decided to read through dozens of current reviews. Overall, the consensus of the 600+ reviews is that the food here is really great and a very popular spot to eat. On the downside, many yelpers complain about the service and staff being rude. Some things that didn't get mentioned is the fact that they do have public bathrooms, but you need a code to get in. They do offer catering services, and there is lots of outdoor seating, weather permitting. Everything is served on proper plating and silverware. One thing we also found out is that they unfortunately no longer make their famous quiche (a very recent decision) which was one reason we came here. They have two coffee prep stations with turbinado sugar, simple syrup and oat milk. Cash (no C notes tho) and credit accepted and yes, the tip screen will be waiting. On our visit, the line moved quickly, and the staff were very friendly. My breakfast croissant was made with the freshest ingredients and the coffee is on par with Starbucks (no free refills). The only complaint I could find is that they did not warm up my pastry selection which was a little hard. They have the right formula working for them here, efficiency, timely, quality fare, good vibe with music overhead and a nice dining experience. Informative photos and video included. read more

I feel like everyone knows that this place has great pastries, cookies and coffee. It never disappoints. Most recently, we stopped here on our way out of town to grab a few nibbles for the plane. We grabbed some cookies and a selection of pastries to share. As were were waiting in the airport for our flight, a woman started chatting with us about our food and relayed a story about how her family is out of state and for each family holiday she brings a box of Tatte's cookies and the one time she forgot, her family never let her hear then end of it. This place is what I needed to start off the day. It was so spacious and lively on a Sunday and the vibes were great. They had a lot of seating in the cafe and loads of selection. I wish I could have gotten more items to try out their food but I was only here for breakfast and got their pita stuffed lamb meatballs. This was super filling and they really stuff everything in there. I also got the fig lemon mint soda and that was super refreshing!! 10/10 would recommend!! I love Tatte, and I especially love supporting an Israeli business since there aren't many in DC. My go-to orders are the breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, avocado, and cheddar on sourdough, or the scrambled egg plate with whipped goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, and spinach. However, I recently learned that Tatte doesn't freshly scramble their eggs. When I went to order the sandwich I've had dozens of times, the cashier told me they couldn't make it with scrambled eggs because they had run out. I was confused--how do you run out of scrambled eggs but not other types of egg preparations? He clarified that the scrambled eggs come from a carton. I don't love that the eggs are not fresh, but I'm still a fan overall. read more

Grabbed brunch and coffee here with a friend that i haven't seen in over 8 years. We got the mezel breakfast and the smoke salmon breakfast sandwich. For coffee, we got the ginger oatmilk latte and the black sesame latte. Lastly, we shared the mixed nut pastry. The food was great. The coffee was much needed. Would definitely come back just to try all the different pastries that they have. Service was great. A favorite go to breakfast spot. It's always jumping here... Especially on the weekends so be prepared to defend yourself. It can get very loud but some folks enjoy working here. The service is fast, and they'll usually have you in and out even on their busiest mornings The pastries are absolutely delicious any breakfast dish is a great choice. I highly recommend the avocado toast & the croissant breakfast sandwich with smoked salmon. The fava & chickpea dish and the winter farro bowls are an incredible mastery of flavor, depth, and balance - they remind me of North African & Lebanese cuisine, hints of cardamom, dukkah, and coriander! What a great find. This place was across the street from our hotel in Bethesda. We were in the area for a wedding and this breakfast bakery was a hit. First it is a beautiful big place with high windows and a patio. The display case with all the bake goods were very appealing. We ordered a quiche and a breakfast sandwich. We also took home cookies and granola bars. Apparently there are many of these restaurants in the northeast but none in Texas. I highly recommend dining here. read more

This place is awesome! Both the salmon/avocado tartine and greek style pancakes are amazing. I recommend getting both if you're with another person and splitting them. Pancakes aren't too sweet - tart cream and pear on the side. So good! Pastries are a bit hit or miss.. I recommend the strawberry envelope. Will take a while to get your food but worth the wait! Back to back work weeks in DC brought me the good fortune of a hotel near the west end Tatte Bakery & Cafe. From the moment we walked in, I knew we had found something special. From the large offerings of pastries to the gourmet coffee and the delicious lemonades and tea that they offer this is a place that you do not want to miss there are no reservations needed, and the service is A1. A lot of the seating is first come, first serve, and though you may feel a little overwhelmed when you first walked in, take the time to scan the room and I'm sure you'll be able to find a seat. Food is good, pastries and desserts are great. Place is always busy so not always the most clean with customers coming in and out to eat. Service hit or miss depending on whos working. Main complaint is the drinks. A lot of their drinks sound good on paper like their orange coriander matcha soda or their sparkling matcha lemonade but unfortunately even their matcha latte is a big miss. I think this primarily has to do with the fact that they don't use any sweetener in their products like simple syrup unless you ask- but even then the cashier forgets to put the request in even though I asked multiple times. The matcha they use also appears to be very low grade because the taste is very off putting and not of good quality. This might also have to do with the fact that they pre-prepare everything into a bottled concentrate but they're a busy establishment so I get it. Overall, would not recommend getting drinks from here. Cute aesthetics and good place to grab a bite but skip the drinks. read more

I got a cortado which was great, and shared some baked goods with friends- a jelly donut, a flourless brownie, and an espresso mousse. The donut was to die for, the brownie chocolatey and fudgey, and the mousse so smooth and silky. I'd get each of these items again in a heartbeat. This bakery is going to be a repeat when I'm back in DC! I loved the variety of pastries and sweets they have but I was craving a savory dish so I decided to get a Salmon, Avocado Egg sandwich. It was so delicious! The herb dressing made my morning so much better. My friend got a a croissant with a runny egg and arugula. The house latte was earthy and lightly sweet with notes of cardamom. We also tried one little sweet treat with Nutella and it reminded me of a shortbread cookie. Jania at the register was extremely sweet and we bonded over our names being similar. She explained how the latte was going to taste and I'm glad I took her recommendation to try it. I definitely would love to go back to try more pastries and tiramisu! It was a very busy shop at 10/11 in the morning. Also we sat outside but there were a lot of birds attacking the dishes and getting lots of leftover bread. Poorly managed, This was the slowest breakfast experience ever. It took 40 minutes to get a breakfast sandwich and a grilled cheese to go, and they said it was not possible to do a grilled cheese without mustard. I will not be coming here again.
