I love coming to Tatte whenever I'm in dc! The space is light and bright and the menu is both unique and fresh. Always busy though but efficient service! Got the smoked salmon breakfast sandwich this time and it was delicious! Had a unique sauce that I really liked.
I love Tatte. It's pricey but good quality. There seem to be about 20 in DC now. It's really grown. This time we had our baby and I wasn't impressed with the lack of sides or anything to get for her. We asked for two eggs scrambled with cheese but were told we'd have to buy an egg prosciutto sandwich for $11 and tell them we didn't want any of the items. Um, no. The tuna sandwich asked for lettuce and told can't add lettuce. My husband asked for something not on his lamb pita, same story. Oh well. No customization at all, no subs. Makes business easier, but not as attractive for price point for customers. I'll remember to keep it to coffee and pastries from now on. Chicken pita was good, a bit heavy on the parsley but loved the dressing. Tuna sandwich was a hit. Pastries are always good. My pistachio latte was chewy bc it had grainy bits of pistachio in it. Not to my liking. $70 for three sandwiches, two coffees and two cookies.
I arrived here for breakfast since my hotel I was staying at was within minutes of this bakery. Unfortunately, the stove was down here so I wasn't able to order a hot breakfast but made do with pastries and a black sesame cafe latte. Both items were yummy and of the highest quality. The interior is roomy, decorated modern and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The eatery has a coffee bar located towards the back and has a sizable dining room. Service by the entire staff was courteous and efficient. I really enjoyed my experience here and will visit their other locations in the D.C. area.
We got the broccolini & hummus squash pita. It was fantastic! I was expecting it to be messy what with it being all stuffed inside the pita, but it held together perfectly (no mess!). I also got an Americano, and it was excellent--on par with my regular coffee haunts. It was quite busy when we arrived, with a line of 7-8 people. However, I was up to the register in under 10 minutes, and they had both our coffee & food to us within 20 minutes after that. Impressive!
I was looking for a place to get a quick breakfast while staying in DC and saw this pop up. The breakfast sandwich was excellent and even better was the homemade scone that I ate later in the day as a snack.The scone was probably one of the beat I've had. I also had a great latte too. This location is pretty busy but still got my order prepared quickly.

Great food! Great people!!! The atmosphere is great at the West End! Tatte Bakery & Cafe is one of my wife and I favorite places to eat when we visit DC. Turkey BLAT with no bacon or avocado is my go to sandwich with the oatmeal and walnut cookie and an espresso double shot.
Charming interior, feels like a really clean subway station. Kind staff. Order at counter, take a number and wait for food delivery, bus table yourself. Nice breakfast menu. I had a breakfast sanwich: eggs my way, bacon, and cheese on sourdough toast. And, a bottle of tgeir mint lemonade. Sandwich was delicious. Eggs cooked as requested. Nice experience.
We love Tatte from trips to Boston and knew this would be a kid-friendly option on this trip. We went early, arriving a bit before 8am which was definitely the right decision. It was calm and easy to find a table, but by the time we left, it was wildly crowded and unenjoyable, especially to tackle with a toddler. For drinks, we got the black sesame latte and the pistachio latte, both were on their seasonal menu and both were delicious. We also grabbed a few of their pastries, and the favorite at the table was the jelly filled donut. Avocado toast was just okay, but the poached eggs on top were done perfectly and I felt that the prices were fair.
Good service. Loved the natural light that comes into the bakery making it very bright. Abundance of seats with a patio outside. Pastries were good, short rib grilled cheese was on point, and their iced pistachio latte was tasty.
Everything was fantastic! That grilled cheese is great. I got it without the horseradish sauce. My bf devoured the hash. He wanted seconds! Service was fast.

Was in town and wandered in to get a dessert to go. The Lemon Blueberry Pavlova looked interesting, and it was light like air. Never had anything like that and I was researching recipes after trying it. Counter service was efficient. Went back to my hotel so I didn't get a chance to experience the atmosphere. The dessert case has a lot of options. You could spend hours here and gain so much weight, but it would be worth it.

Corn & Spinach Shakshuka... DIVINE. TBH, I had no idea what I was ordering, so when it was delivered to my table Iookin' like my poached eggs were swimming in a bright yellow soup, I passed some judgment It's described as "Poached eggs in a creamy corn sauce, with baby spinach and zucchini, topped with heirloom cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, zhoug, Aleppo chili oil, and parsley. Served with housemade sourdough," but I didn't see any of the veggies and barely saw the eggs. And, again.. it looked like soup. Little did I know I was about to ingest the equivalent of culinary SUNSHINE! Guys, I don't even know how to describe the flavor... It was a little bit sweet from the corn, but then also a bit creamy. It was one of the best dishes I've ever had. Who knew a popular place known for their baked goods would deliver such a gastronomical delight? If you go and see this on the menu... give it a try... hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did. read more
This is a cafe and restaurant. From drinks to pastries to savory meals. I love the variety. The prices are reasonable. There are several in DC. The menu is huge for a cafe! So many options. All of them have decent amount of seatings and nice interior decor. Good service. I like this place so much for the convenience and good food and drinks. You can have a decent entree for $20 and under - for that price, it's very good. And they open until 8 pm! read more

I came here to meet my second mother / grief counselor / Stephen Minister, on my last trip to DC, and we both loved Tatte! I see I already added one photo of my orange tart to Yelp, as you can see, and I also took a not aesthetically pleasing photo of a delicious Kouign Amann, that I tried on a separate day, that I will defer to other Yelpers to visually portray, as my photo is not as good as theirs, though my pastry was as equally delicious. ;) It's a popular venue, with fast service, and tables inside & outside, but you could be waiting awhile, given its deliciousness & its popularity! read more
Tatte may be a chain but it still has all the aspects that make it feel like a cozy cafe. The interior is stunning and you will see people meeting friends or colleagues here. They have a plethora of pastries but my favorite is the cheesecake. Their drinks are cheaper than the ones at the mermaid chain and so unique! I couldn't help but come here over and over. The pastries are sweet but not too sweet. read more
This was a better experience than the other Tatte I visited. While in DC, I wanted to stop by my company's office and I knew I couldn't arrive empty handed so I came into Tatte to purchased some baked goods. The lady at the register helped me get lots of cookies and pastries together and my colleagues at the office were very happy. It's not cheap (each cookie was over $3) but that's to be expected in an area like this, so it wasn't unexpected. Solid visit this time. read more
Great coffee and great croissants. I had the pistachio croissant and a fabulous grilled cheese. This place was bustling but we didn't have to wait more than ten minutes for our order. Finding a place to sit was a little dicey but we got lucky. Not cheap but it is DC. Wish we had one in Chicago. read more

I love Tatte in Boston and this is one of my fav locations in DC. It is located in Dupont circle area so they seem to get alot of foot traffic. The workers here are nice and took my allergies into consideration. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy your meals and coffee. I usually get the egg sandwich which has cheese and bacon and its very tasty. I tried their Cappuccino for my first time and man oh man it is very tasty! I usually get the iced latte. This is a great spot to stop by if you are in the area. read more
Delicious baked goods made onsite with high quality ingredients, served by friendly and helpful staff. We visited Tatte several times during our weeklong stay in DC and were pleased with every sweet treat we ordered! We typically visited early evening and I especially appreciated that the desserts were made onsite as it kept a steady flow of desserts available throughout the day, unlike other bakeries that would run out by 4pm. There is plenty of indoor seating inside their beautifully decorated space which it both light and airy. Though we preferred to walk to the nearby DuPont Circle park and enjoy our treats there. read more
I honestly have been trying to grab something from them for a while. Since it was my 1st visit, i ordered 2 rolls. One was a cinnamon with nuts and the other had dark chocolate on the roll (I know I don't have the names exactly right). The cinnamon roll looked pretty but on the dry side and very dense. The chocolate one was tiny bit moister but dense as well. It's like they needed more fat aka butter. I may try their savory items next time and can find parking around them. read more
At Tatte, you order up front and if you're going to eat there, you pick up a number and seat yourself. There are a lot of tables both inside and outside, and it does feel spacious. There are two restrooms but there were long lines for them at all times around lunchtime. In terms of the food, I got a BLAT and an iced latte. The BLAT honestly looked better than it tasted. I was quite disappointed. It felt bland and had a weird taste that I can't exactly describe. I just know I didn't like it much. Perhaps Tatte does better with their pastries, but their breakfast items were average at best. read more

Every time I'm in DC, I have to stop in to Tatte! The cutest cafe with a retro, clean feel! The staff are wonderful and the menu items are even better. Their Croque Madame is delightful and I am IN LOVE with their pistachio latte! Give it a try if you're in the area! read more
Had an awesome experience here this weekend. I tried the seasonal latte, ginger and date oat latte as got it "less sweet". The flavors were definitely there and authentic to the title. I just wish it wasn't so gritty, I guess the mix of oat milk and the ginger left it a little thicker than expected. They had really nice 2025 calendars! So cute and I grabbed one! Of course it's impossible to leave Tatte without being tempted by the sweets.....I was in a chocolate-y mood and ordered the brownie with walnuts. I also got a regular brownie, a nut loaf (more like a tart filled with different candied nuts), fruit tart with half a fig on top (unique!), and a blueberry lemon pavlova. Service was quick and they are certainly used to being busy and cranking out orders. However, the lady behind the counter was very nice and helped me with some recommendations in picking my desserts. I had a lovely experience! This location is so pretty, even the outside of the building must have been an old bank because I almost didn't notice it was a tatte. The mosaic tiles right before the door were so cute. Plenty photo ops! read more

Tatte always nails the atmosphere -- bright, calm, and just the right kind of busy. My latte was smooth and balanced, and the almond croissant was buttery and crisp with that sweet almond filling that keeps you going back for another bite. That said, I wish they'd ice their espresso. Sometimes you just want a proper iced drink without having to compromise on flavor or texture, and it's a little surprising that a place this polished doesn't offer that option. Still, it's a reliable stop when you want something well-made in a clean, comfortable space. read more
Everything is amazing about this place. From the decor, to the service, the food and drinks everything was perfect. I'm glad we decided to try this place. The season pistachio latte is out of this world. The plating of the breakfast and the freshness of the ingredients which work so well together made this cafe super special. Their bread is amazing. Overall a great place with good pastries and sandwiches. The coffee was not my favorite, mainly because the service was slow and my order was made incorrectly at first, but the baristas fixed it. It still tasted like a pretty meh coffee to me. The ambiance in this location is modern and bright, and the pastry counter is located right in the center when you walk in. It is a great spot for a quick stop before visiting other places in the area. read more
Great cafe environment to work from, solid coffee and food options, but the drinks and bakery items are overpriced for what they are. I've been to a few locations and the loaf cake slices are consistently dry but the coffee syrups are tasty so maybe that cancels each other out. read more

Definitely smaller than some of the other locations but just as charming and delicious. Great for popping in for a to-go coffee or pastry but dining in might be difficult since there's not a lot of seating. Cashiers and baristas are both very kind and friendly and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! read more

I did see someone working in there however I didn't see any outlets. The noise is never low and it's always a busy packed place

First come first serve I believe.
How's their brunch now? Are they still serving "to go" way or "in dining "way (food on a plate)
"Brunch" items are served all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday (except for the donuts that are only offered on weekends). You can order it to go, but you can also dine in (still would need to order at the counter, pick up pastries and drip/cold…
