My husbands is The Devil (vanilla with chocolate icing) he swears by it where I often shy away from vanilla because it ends up tasting like a muffin. Not up in here! If you haven't tried the Homemade Marshmallows you are Crazy! And they make excellent gifts that last longer than a cupcake and you can eat them as is or make the best Oven s'mores of your life. The brownies are heavenly and my hubs is all about the rice crispy treats. So needless to say, I don't think you can go wrong. This is a place that we wanted to like a lot better than we did. We tried it last weekend on a rainy morning, and we went into the "Baked" storefront first, where we ordered quite a few items, assuming that that was the entire selection. The folks on this side were very sweet and helpful. When we went over to "Wired" to get our coffees, there were a bunch of *other* treats over there, which nobody told us about, so that was annoying because then we would have ordered way fewer items. So we got a couple more goodies here as well as our iced coffees and a hot cocoa for our kiddo. The folks on this side were unfriendly and uninterested in customer service ("Just checking in on our quiche...?";"Oh, we totally forgot. We'll put it in now."). We weren't impressed with most of our items though some were better than others. Unsurprisingly, the cupcakes were the best; we got the nutella and "unicorn" ones, and both were moist with excellent frostings. We especially appreciated the filling in the nutella. The chocolate chip cookie was terrible--our daughter, a cookie fiend, refused to have another bite of it. We liked the novelty of the "orange dream" shortcake. As for the other stuff, the spicy sausage biscuit was not spicy at all and had the consistency of rubber. The quiche that finally came out was too oily, but we all liked the decadent cinnamon roll. Bit of a mixed bag all around, so we're settling on three stars. We ourselves won't be back, but others might have a better experience on a different day. read more

I used to love this spot when I lived in dc. Came back here to show my partner around. Got a cookie ($7.50!!!!) and a fig newton (over $4!). They gave us the wrong cookie so we let them know. They said oh sorry and then said give me the bag. We said we still have the fig newton bar in it. They said okay then take the fig newton bar out. We still wanted the bag as we were walking around. They made us hold the fig newton and the new cookie while they got a new bag. Essentially they went through all this so they could take the old cookie back. Awesome spot for "cake cups" and other sweet treats! We went here on a weekend afternoon, about 30 minutes before close (4 pm). While the line was quite long when arriving, wait time was surprisingly short and employees were efficient in managing orders. We purchased the dirty chai cupcake, the OMG (with graham cracker, caramel, marshmallow, chocolate layers), and the rock your world brownie (with almonds, marshmallows, fudge) to go, and all desserts held up pretty well on the trip back home! The dirty chai was very tasty, with just the right amount of cinnamon and sweetness. Portion sizes for their cupcakes are huge and perfect for splitting with a friend. A family friend from DC told us to try Baked & Wired for their amazing cupcakes. We arrived slightly before 8:00AM on a Thursday. There were already 3 people in line. We ordered 4 cupcakes: red velvet, strawberry, Razmanian devil (lemon raspberry flavor) and vanilla with chocolate frosting. The cupcakes were a good size and the $6 each price point was high but worth it because they were all delicious! We were surprised with how good the vanilla with chocolate frosting was! So moist and flavorful. All the cupcakes had a light , fluffy, & moist cake which is very difficult to achieve if you've ever baked. The frosting ratio to cake was perfect and overall we felt they were by far the best cupcakes we've ever had! Highly recommend for anyone visiting DC to try! read more

I haven't been to Baked & Wired in a few years just because I haven't been in area. I also knew if I found a convenient way to stop by, I would be there all the time. So, I was in the area yesterday and took a 10 minute walk from Trader Joe's in 25 degrees just to get some cupcakes. I get there about 15-30 minutes after they opened so there were no lines and it wasn't crowded at all. If I had time I would have gotten a warm drink in addition to my cupcakes and chill there for a second. It's inviting, especially with all the Christmas Decoration and warm staff. I got 4 cupcakes; Pistachio, Strawberry, Vanilla and German Chocolate. Generally their cupcakes aren't too sweet, they're big with great flavor. They're $6.20 each. I normally really like pistachio flavored things, the pistachio cupcake wasn't my favorite. I think there is nut meg or a similar spice which isn't my favorite. That's not to say I wouldn't eat it again if someone bought it for me though lol. I just wouldn't buy it again. The other cupcakes were on point, no complaints. Cupcakes are A1. Workers are helpful and friendly. My biggest critique is the mental gymnastics it takes for me to order. I always panic a little because there's usually a line and there isn't a posted menu for the cupcakes, at least not one that I've been able to see during cupcake rush hour. They have all of the cupcakes out on display in these cute cake savers. I'm the type of person who likes to look at all of my options before I order but that's not always feasible with how the line wraps around so quickly. I feel this sense of urgency to place my order quickly and get out of the way. Next time I'll do research on the toast app so I'm prepared to order. There was one vegan option, but my vegan didn't enjoy it and said it was dry. I think it was mint flavored. The cupcakes are on the larger side to me and everyone I've ever had has been insanely sweet. I can only eat half of one at a time. During my last visit I got the Doom and uniporn and rainho. This is a cute little cupcake store in Georgetown that also serves other cafe items like coffee and breakfast/lunch items. It's a very popular spot to grab dessert in Georgetown and usually has a long line which moves pretty quick. Omg! They have some of the best cupcakes I have ever had. I dropped by here while out and about in Georgetown, and ended up purchasing the coconut and carrot cake cupcakes. Both cupcakes were very tasty with a slightly dense consistency that make the cupcakes very filling. The coconut flavor was my favorite, but the carrot was good as well. The icing on both cupcakes had just the right amount of sweetness for my taste, and at Baked & Wired apparently they aren't shy about topping off their cupcakes with plenty of icing (yum!). The pricing for the menu items were very reasonable (especially for the area), and the staff were super friendly and helpful (despite the large number of customers that were visiting at the time). Far and away the best cupcakes I've ever had!! I was lucky enough to go when there wasn't a line, and I snagged seven of these to try. I don't remember the exact names of the cupcakes I got, but they were basically a strawberry, a vanilla, a vanilla with chocolate frosting, a chocolate with vanilla frosting, a double chocolate, a red velvet, and a pistachio. While back east, our family visited Georgetown and retraced my steps when I lived there oh ten years ago. Of course, we had to make a stop at Baked & Wired! I hadn't had it in years, but was craving their expertly crafted, flavorful, high-price-tag cupcakes (hey, when in DC). When our group got there, after a collective groan at the long line, I wasn't taking no for an answer so we went to the back of the line and within about 10 minutes, made it inside the bakery. We were then greeted with a beautiful shining line of cupcakes on display. The ordering system is a little chaotic, and I'm guessing very intentional - we have to select our flavors as we move down the line, so that if something at the end of the line looks good, we have to wait until the end to order. We got 5 cupcakes - two of the seasonal Cherry Blossoms (YUM), a German Chocolate, a carrot cake and a pistachio. I think the price tag came out to about $35 for the five cupcakes? Definitely a splurge when visiting, but worth it. We ate our cupcakes after we did some site seeing around the city and they were all moist, flavorful and delicious!! read more

I will admit that I was a little confused when I entered the building. I wasn't sure if it was a separate entity or the same one. It was kinda split in half. Nevertheless, I went to the side that looked like they served coffee & cold drinks. It was quite tiny. I got the iced matcha & wanted it to be sweet. The baristas were rather quiet but timely with their service. I felt that my matcha was not sweet enough so I added more sweetner/ simple syrup to it. It did the trick. This shop could easily turn into a cupcake factory but they keep it casual with handmade labels, intimate couch seating, and usually just one or two employees at the counter.
