I stopped by Soleluna this past weekend for a coffee and found it very charming. It's a small coffeeshop and bakery with some seating outdoors and just a high top and 2-4 chairs inside. I stopped by around 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning and walked right in. I ordered an iced americano and drooled over their favorite beautiful pastries (I don't even have much of a sweet tooth, but their pastries looked gorgeous). The service was fast and friendly, and my iced americano was great. I enjoyed my coffee on a walk to Meridian Hill Park. Around 11:00 a.m., I was in front of Soleluna again (just passing by) and noticed there was now quite a line. I imagine it moves quite fast (there's really nowhere to go inside which might make the line look a little longer than it really is). So, Soleluna is great, and it's no secret! If you stop by earlier in the morning, it won't take long at all to get a coffee and a treat, but you should expect a bit of a wait if you go later in the morning on a weekend. I'd happily return.

Sweet little coffee shop down the street from Tryst & Lost City Books, local Ecuadorian shop with really good coffee and on the lower priced end compared to other shops in the area. Do yourself a favor and get a few Honey Butter Wheat Medialuna Croissants, you'll thank me later!

Very small cafe. Staff was very fast and nice. This pistachio is something to rave about. 10/10

This is a sweet little pastry and coffee shop right near the main intersection in ADMO. Blink and you could miss it, but don't miss it because the pastries are on point and they have all kinds of lovely coffee drinks as well. I would also highlight that the monkey bread is a very well priced pastry for this area and they have different flavors, including savory. Some of the savory croissants can also be a full lunch or breakfast and they also have personal quiches. There are only two small tables inside so plan accordingly during winter. There are outside tables as well.

I've been going to this little cafe at least once a month for about a year now, and I just want to sing its praises a little bit more! The cinnamon rolls they sometimes have on the weekend have to be my favorite in DC (so soft, so gooey, never skimping on the cinnamon) and the quiches are spot-on. Every time I start my day with a pastry from Soleluna it just brightens my morning, and it's so great to see staff making everything from scratch and pulling warm pastries from the oven when you get there early in the day. Glad to have a cozy little cafe like this in the neighborhood and that their prices have stayed reasonable. If there's something specific you want, I recommend coming early because they do sell out.

I've only had coffee takeaway before and I've been meaning to try out the baked goods here. My friends kindly got takeaways for me and they taste absolutely fantastic even the next day after leaving them on the counter, in an air tight container. Would love to come visit the cafe again some time.

Inside - The image shows the interior of a coffee shop with green paneled counters and a display of baked goods such as croissants. Behind the counter, two baristas are preparing orders, wearing black uniforms and caps. The background includes decorative wallpaper with a leafy pattern, a round mirror, and shelves with coffee bags. The ceiling has track lighting with multiple spotlights, and the floor has a combination of hexagonal tiles and a dark mat near the entrance.

Needed a pick me up in the afternoon after a lot of walking. Found this cute little bakery we stopped in. We ordered their Chai lattes and a croissant. The Chai lattes were good. I definitely felt the milk overpowered the chai flavor but it was still refreshing to have. The croissant was thick and not as flaky as I would have liked but still a good one. A nice and quick little cafe to check out!

Super small grab & go coffee shop. Pros: Price point & the croissants are amazing! Cons: Coffee isn't great. Also super let down by the Freddy Cappuccino. Expected something similar to the one made in NY at Cafe Leon Dore but it didn't come close!

Ham and Cheese Croissant - A freshly baked croissant with a flaky, golden-brown exterior is partially visible inside a white paper bag. The bag is being held outdoors, with a stone building wall in the background. The image captures the croissant's layered, crispy texture and the natural lighting highlights its surface.

The coffee isn't exceptional and I think they were having an off day when I went because they had messed up a couple of drink orders while I waited in line. I was there on a Sunday afternoon and there was a small line out the door, but they moved fast. I ordered an iced latte with chai syrup and I couldn't taste the chai, so either their syrups are weak or they forgot it. Despite this, I would come back over and over again for their pastries. I got a ham and cheese croissant, shaped like a traditional pain au chocolate. The layers are flaky and the crust of it was so crispy. You can also ask for them to be warmed up!

Sign outside - The image shows a round black sign mounted on a building exterior, with the text 'Soleluna' at the top and 'Coffee and Bakeshop' at the bottom. The center of the sign features a white line drawing of an ice cream cone. The sign is attached to a metal bracket and is positioned against a brick and painted wall, with part of a window visible nearby.

This is a wonderful bakery with lots of great pastries and delicious coffee. My wife and I came here back in May while in town for a conference and we tried several croissants, including passionfruit, pistachio, and guava, all of which were very flavorful and buttery (the guava was the best). I got a cappuccino and my wife got a Freddo espresso, both of which were also delicious and paired excellently with the pastries. It's a great place to grab some coffee and snacks and we'd definitely visit again!

Pistachio Croissant - A close-up of a pistachio croissant with a flaky, golden-brown exterior, topped with chopped pistachios and a drizzle of glaze. The croissant is held by a person with red nail polish, and the background suggests an indoor setting, possibly a bakery or cafe.

My favorite place for viennoiserie sadly closed its doors and so I began the pursuit of finding an acceptable replacement. Solely a focused on traditional French items with a twist.i indulged in their pistachio and almond croissant. Their pistachio croissant surprised me by not having a filling and only have pistachios on the top (2/5). The almond croissant also wasn't the standard as instead of a frangipane filling it was filled with a sweet almond extract cream (1/5). I doubt that I'll be back for more than a coffee (4/5).

Incredible little café with an outstanding pastry selection and some of the best coffee available in DC! This hole-in-the-wall spot is located in the heart of Adams Morgan, where space is limited but the vibrancy and vibes are not. Soleluna adds to the cool, artsy energy of the neighborhood with their warm, friendly staff, unique assortment of pastries, and awesome Ecuadorian coffee. The coffee has genuinely never missed; I love the beans themselves, so I normally opt for an americano or a latte, but they also have a ton of homemade syrups that are just absolutely incredible. Whether you're a bitter or a sweet coffee drinker, Soleluna has you covered! They also have a fun selection of pastries, including fruity, tropical options like their guava or passionfruit croissant, or their mango danish. If something savory is a bit more your speed, they also have a classic ham and cheese croissant, everything bagel danish, and outstanding leek quiche. I usually go for something classic, like their standard croissant or pain au chocolat, but everything -- from the basics to the specialty -- are perfectly executed, phenomenally flaky, and 100% delicious. The shop is quite small, so, while there's a couple of small tables available outside, you're most likely going to have to take your order to go. There's barely enough space for the line to wrap around inside of the café, but I promise both the wait and the hassle of finding a new spot to enjoy your treats is completely worth it.

They have plenty of seating. So, if you're not in a rush. Sit down and enjoy the ambience. Also, they have a really nice coffee bar with incredibly delicious coffee, tea, and tasty treats. Famous Chef Thomas Reviews: Dolcezza (Washington, DC)…read more The Famous Chef Thomas visited Dolcezza in Washington, DC, expecting a proper café experience, especially at the prices being charged. When a place is asking $4 to $7 for tea or a latte, there is an obligation to deliver something above the level of a bargain counter operation. Instead, the Famous Chef Thomas was handed a tea cup with the tea bag resting on top, wasting valuable brewing time and shifting the work onto the customer like some cheap do-it-yourself setup. That may be understandable at McDonald's for $1.79, but at Dolcezza it is unacceptable. At these prices, the worker should have already put the tea bag in the cup, added the honey, and served a finished product with care. Do not charge premium café prices and then behave like preparation is somehow the customer's responsibility. And to casually tell the customer that the honey is over at the stand only adds insult to laziness. Hospitality is not pointing. Hospitality is serving. What makes it worse is that this place has clearly declined from where it was when it first opened years ago. The standards are slipping, and it shows in more than one way. The table was dirty, and because this visit was early in the morning, that dirt had to be left over from the previous day. That is not a small oversight. That is evidence of poor closeout, poor maintenance, and weak attention to detail. Then came the final insult: too many bugs. The Famous Chef Thomas had to kill them or dodge them just to sit there, which made it impossible to enjoy the experience without feeling like he was in a battle against being bitten. A café cannot expect customers to relax, sip tea, and enjoy themselves while swatting pests away from the table. Dolcezza is charging as if it still deserves a premium reputation, but the service, cleanliness, and overall execution no longer support it. Premium prices require premium standards. The Famous Chef Thomas did not receive them here. The verdict: lazy service, dirty conditions, bugs, and a café experience that has fallen far below its old standard. The Famous Chef Thomas is not impressed
