Love this coffee house!!! Was dropping my daughter off at Union Station and we had a little time to kill. We easily found street parking. The inside was cute and had a decent amount of seating. They also have a patio, but with today being the warmest of 2026 they were all taken. There was one customer ahead of us, but the wait was very short. I got a white mocha matcha. I was a little skeptical, but the barista co-signed and suggested getting it iced. Delicious! I also got a pastry. Bacon, egg and cheese on brioche. Also really tasty. This place is clearly a neighborhood staple as I heard staff greeting several customers by name. Definitely glad we stopped in. If ever in the area, I will certainly be back. read more

I'd say this is 'very good' but 4 stars it is for their well executed pastries and pleasant vibe. I think my favorite may be the strawberry cheese danish, but the recommended cinnamon bun (which they helpfully suggested to warm up) had a good amount of spice, crisp outside layer, and a not excessive icing glaze. Also liked my matcha latte - would stop by frequently if lived closer. read more

Located a short ways from Union Station Ebenezers struck me as forgettable. The latter was muddled by a heavy dose of milk and more ice than allowed for the lid to close. While the interior was spacious and the patio had more tables than chairs it could have been a nice place to hang on a better day. read more

Ebenezers Coffee is a really strong neighborhood spot. The coffee is consistently good and clearly made with care. I had a latte that was smooth, balanced, and exactly what I wanted. The space is bright, comfortable, and easy to settle into whether you're meeting someone or hanging out solo. Staff were friendly and on top of things without being stiff or fake. Only reason it's not a full five is the vibe during my visit. One guy was posted up for hours loudly talking on a group chat, and it completely took over the room. Really nice to try what we were buying and the coffee was great! The spot is also very large and has nice seating inside and outside. This place is so awesome! They have a really great menu with awesome flavor options, and I love their seasonal additions. They never let me down! Were they really shine through though is how absolutely kind the workers are. I have a unique dietary restriction and they were so helpful and helping me navigate that with their menu! It's very busy and the seats were all occupied; there was a line both when I came in and when I left. I ordered the rosemary lavender lemonade, but I wouldn't order it again because the lemonade was so overpowering that I couldn't taste any of the rosemary or lavender. It was also very sweet, so I waited for my ice to melt before finishing it. I liked the flavor of the mushroom goat cheese turnover that I ordered; it was very umami. However, its texture wasn't as flaky as I had expected because they reheat food with a microwave instead of a toaster oven. read more

I've been wanting to try this coffee shop for a while since it's walking distance and it's always packed. I was a bit disappointed overall. The staff were VERY kind and helpful, but my matcha was not tasty and my chocolate croissant was just OK especially for the price. I paid more here than I usually would from my preferred coffee shops. I was able to find a table and get studying done even though it was pretty bustling the entire time. I think they had more seating in a semi-hidden area, but I didn't see how large the area was. Overall, I would go back on occasion but mostly because it's conveniently located. read more

I was so excited to order a turkey sausage and egg white sandwich, but it was not fresh. The texture and taste seemed like it was a cooked a week or two ago and simply microwaved before placing into the foil and handed to me. Honestly, even the foil presentation was not very good. It wasn't closed. The foil was a bit open and the sandwich overall was not good. I didn't eat it. Sad face. omg, this has been the best coffee I have gotten in DC so far :) Was on our way to drop off family at the Station and saw that this coffee shop was nearby. The cafe was cute and accompanied with social atmosphere and ppl working, studying, and chatting. The cafe was clean and offered limited food items, baked goods, and even chips! We got the iced vanilla latte w oat and ohmy it was delicious. Not only do they use crushed ice but the coffee was excellent and the it was the perfect ratio of coffee to milk and vanilla! Tl;dr the drinks and service are good. Upstairs has limited seating but lots more downstairs. Come charged bc you might not get a seat with an outlet (only three seats downstairs with outlets). Wifi is hit or miss. But, it's coffee with a cause! I've been coming to Ebenezers for a little over a year now as my partner has always lived right down the street. It's a great community coffee shop with a particular emphasis on community programs. It's honestly not super clear to me what role they serve but just from my experience, they seem to have a special heart for the homeless living near union station, so for that alone, they get bonus points from me. My only real complaints are the hours aren't long enough for me as someone who often works late and that their wifi is not always the most reliable, but usually is! Also, downstairs could really use more outlets. Give them a try :) read more
