    Matcha latte

One of my favorite cafes in DC, sporting delicious coffee, outstanding vibes, and super friendly staff! I've probably been to The Coffee Bar at least a dozen times already this year, and it continues to impress me each time with their attention to quality and crafting a relaxing, fun atmosphere for their guests. The coffee itself is just outstanding. The beans are rich, slightly nutty, and super smooth. The latte is phenomenal, but they also have one of the few coffees in DC that I'm willing to drink black (or in an americano). If you don't love coffee, they have other outstanding drinks -- in fact, the drink that made me first fall in love with The Coffee Bar was their matcha latte (which, admittedly, feels a bit odd to order at a place literally called The COFFEE Bar, but they're clearly able to deliver far more than just coffee). The staff is super friendly and the space is just gorgeous, all of which comes together to make The Coffee Bar a delightful and relaxing place to enjoy your cup of joe. They have a ton of outdoor seating, as well as a few tables and long counters / high tops inside, which are perfect for tapping away at your laptop or catching up over a warm beverage. If you're more in the mood for relaxing or just like to curl up with a book, they also have a few lovely cushioned chairs in the corners, including one of those lovely wicker egg-shaped chairs that makes you feel like you're sitting in a warm hug the entire time. Whether you're on the hunt for some phenomenal coffee or a nice vibey place to either be productive or just relax, The Coffee Bar has to be on your must-visit list!

I was in the area so I stopped by for coffee on Wed. Morning at 8:45. Small neighborhood place. Jazz softly playing in the background while lots of chatter's going on. If you see a line at the door, no worries. It moves quickly. I tried the House Blend. Nice. Not too strong for me. Dogs are tied up in the small, front courtyard. It's 2 min away from Garrison ES and 6 min away from 13th & U metro station. No parking spaces available. It's very tight in this residential neighborhood at this time of morning. Up for a new adventure? Stop by and check them out.

A solid local shop w fab foamed milk and vibes! I've been going here for about a decade now and love its location and vibes. It's on a corner of a residential neighborhood across from a school in a stereotypical old DC building. Theres's seating on the semi-bay windows, bar and a variety of seating inside, as well as ten small tables outside. I had a hot vanilla latte this trip paired with zucchini bread. The milk was foamed perfectly per usual and the drink wasn't too sweet. They use ceremony espresso beans, which is a very standard medium roast--not astringent or burnt, and an overall smooth crowd-pleaser. The zucchini bread was tender, moist, and had a great crumb. Perhaps it was the raisins, but overall it was a touch too sweet for me... But I would still eat it again lol! I overheard they get their baked goods from Hawthorne, a local wholesale bakery. Not sure when it happened, but this place always seems to be packed now. I always find a place to plunk down, nonetheless. They have their routine down and are able to pump our drinks quickly. Glad it's been around for a bit and always happy to drop in!

Super close to the Airbnb I was staying at! It's my coworkers' favorite spot. Tons of outdoor seating too. Staff is super friendly and never seem stressed despite the long lines. It gets pretty busy around 8am on weekdays. People will already be on their laptops working. I came by a couple times. Tried the seasonal cardamom latte (only comes hot) and an iced vanilla latte. Delicious! Not strong on the espresso. My friends also enjoyed the chai, cappuccino, and lattes. Love it here!

My favorite, favorite coffee shop in all of DC. The ambiance is very rustic and quaint in all the best ways, both inside and outside. It's all you want in a neighborhood coffee shop: incredible vibes, an inviting staff, and DELICIOUS espresso. I get an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, and it's perfect every single time. Love love love.

As a Floridian and pure tourist, normally I wait to write reviews to collect my fullest thoughts on the product before writing. Well the "jury is out," and my opinion is very clear. TCB is amazing. This place has everything it needs to stand out as a local, cozy, and unique experience. From its location, exterior has spacious seating surrounded by tree's and quiet neighborhood roads. The interior, while a small space utilizes its room just enough to feel quaint and comfortable. As I sit on a couch, head leaning back into the couch - there is enough room for an individual to walk past, behind me, uninterrupted. The interior especially combines that homey experience with the modern with days gone metal decor with new pop of pink lights for those social media posts. Very ambient. From my experience, many coffee shops don't recommend straight black coffee - yet I sit here with the TCB Cold Brew Concentrate 24 Hour special (with an Option for 36 Hour special too). The roasting process must be rigorous as its flavor profile is so much - rich, bold, decadent, nutty, a Smokey after bit, coursing with caffeine through and through. I'd highly recommend when visiting. The cashier and the assistant (male and female; names to follow) were very helpful with considerations and opinions on what I should get. In the environment of DC, I wouldn't expect such customer service and care free as my experience has been opposite. Couldn't ask for better service as they took time even with a constant line behind me. Overall (I'm sorry long review) TCB has no right being this good when I hadn't heard of it before hand. No surprise I heard of this place from a local and as a tourist: couldn't be happier with the experience. I'd highly recommend the TCB for a quick run and go coffee or sit down to appreciate the coziness. Post Review Edit: Thank you Eliza and Max for their excellent service.

Quick and efficient service with super friendly baristas. I always see people waiting outside for it to open at 8am and finally wanted to try it again. I only purchased a latte but it was super enjoyable. I appreciated that they offer a choice of espresso, but one is an up charge. Great seating area but limited space and no cover in hot sun or rain. A few seats and a high top inside. I'll be back to my neighborhood coffee bar!

Amazing vibes and amazing coffee. Absolutely love grabbing their coffee to sip on for my walks. Their vanilla latte is creamy, sweet and brewed perfectly. Also for DC 5 dollars for a latte is a crazy good price. This place is the epitome of cozy fall vibes

Perfect little neighborhood coffee house. The vibes are excellent. Walk in through a front patio area with tables to find a cute interior with more seating including a bar, high top table and a few couches and plush chairs. Staff is friendly and service is fast! Really can't think of a more quintessential coffee bar experience. I live nearby and this is my go-to when I need to get out of the apartment.

had to visit the coffee bar two days in a row (and here is why) day 1: I got an iced vanilla latte with oat, it was good, but not great and I felt like I needed to give it another shot day 2: I got an iced dirty chai with oat, and this drink was IT - the right shade of beige, the right amount of ice and spice overall TCB is a cute neighborhood coffee shop that is well-worth a visit, however, it is pricey (but, where isn't at this point anymore?)

Fine, but not great. I enjoyed the tumeric latte, but the location was chaotic, with minimal seating, and they did not have wifi.

Famous Chef Thomas Reviews: Dolcezza (Washington, DC)…read more The Famous Chef Thomas visited Dolcezza in Washington, DC, expecting a proper café experience, especially at the prices being charged. When a place is asking $4 to $7 for tea or a latte, there is an obligation to deliver something above the level of a bargain counter operation. Instead, the Famous Chef Thomas was handed a tea cup with the tea bag resting on top, wasting valuable brewing time and shifting the work onto the customer like some cheap do-it-yourself setup. That may be understandable at McDonald's for $1.79, but at Dolcezza it is unacceptable. At these prices, the worker should have already put the tea bag in the cup, added the honey, and served a finished product with care. Do not charge premium café prices and then behave like preparation is somehow the customer's responsibility. And to casually tell the customer that the honey is over at the stand only adds insult to laziness. Hospitality is not pointing. Hospitality is serving. What makes it worse is that this place has clearly declined from where it was when it first opened years ago. The standards are slipping, and it shows in more than one way. The table was dirty, and because this visit was early in the morning, that dirt had to be left over from the previous day. That is not a small oversight. That is evidence of poor closeout, poor maintenance, and weak attention to detail. Then came the final insult: too many bugs. The Famous Chef Thomas had to kill them or dodge them just to sit there, which made it impossible to enjoy the experience without feeling like he was in a battle against being bitten. A café cannot expect customers to relax, sip tea, and enjoy themselves while swatting pests away from the table. Dolcezza is charging as if it still deserves a premium reputation, but the service, cleanliness, and overall execution no longer support it. Premium prices require premium standards. The Famous Chef Thomas did not receive them here. The verdict: lazy service, dirty conditions, bugs, and a café experience that has fallen far below its old standard. The Famous Chef Thomas is not impressed
