There were some baked goods available and you can order a bag of coffee beans with the selection of your choice. Parking is rough in this busy area but there are some parking lots available I ordered the following: Medium cup of Bold coffee-India This coffee contained some beautiful notes of vanilla and nutty flavors, an excellent blend. I paired it with some almond milk and no sugar as nothing was needed because the coffee carried such a sweet taste. Checked out Roasting Plant Coffee because I was very intrigued about their Javabot, which is their patented technology to automatically roast, grind, and brew green coffee beans. While I was debating to try their pistachio latte and other seasonal items, I went for a classic dark mocha. It was tastier than expected. The chocolate flavors came through nicely (unlike the average chocolate syrup or generic melted chocolate). The espresso flavors were prominent and well mixed with the milk. My partner's ice Brazil coffee featured a strong initial roasted coffee, almost like burnt taste, but it lacked the floral notes that this coffee bean was known to offer. It was cool to see machine in action with the tubes in the air and beans being tossed. There were a couple of tables inside as well as outdoor seating options. I tried this place for a quick breakfast after leaving Gregories ( because it doesn't!t serve dark roast coffee). While Roasting Plant does serve three blends of dark roast, all were too weak. I tried all three and was charged $6. They all paled compared to Starbucks. I ordered a ham-cheese-egg croissant and got a limp little croissant ant that was obviously precooked. Not very tasty and it cost $10 f@@@ing dollars! So I spent almost $20 for a breakfast that sucked and when I left I was still hungry! Needless to say, I will never go back to this place. Flavor wise this should be a solid 4 star. But it is SO expensive. Would I go again? No. $9.06 is a lot for a latte (technically iced cappuccino but that's questionable and having different sizes basically makes it a latte) There are many different types of beans (with pipes for transport) which they grind right before they brew. We stopped in here as it was right by our hotel. It was a quiet weekend morning, so it wasn't super busy. The staff was nice, but wow, everything was really overpriced. The food was not great. The yogurt parfait had a tiny portion of granola, which was mostly raisins. The avocado toast was fine, but overpriced for what you get. Overall, we'd have opted for something different but there weren't a lot of options since it was the weekend. There are a few tables outside, and the inside aesthetic is cute. When I was told about this spot, I had very high hopes it would be great. Thinking 'The Jetsons' for coffee. But alas, it was a big Meh. It is cute that you can choose which beans you get. It's fun to see them move in tubes. But, the spot itself isn't that cute. Some seating and some small eats. I had my usual latte and it was just meh. Served in paper cups only (pet peeve) it was not bad - just not great. The milk was over textured and more cappuccino milk like. The flavor was very mellow and didn't really stand out. Talk about beautiful ambiance and tasty coffee. I absolutely adore Roasting Plant! The shop is very spacious and clean with plenty of seating. The staff is essentially roasting any blend of coffee you desire served hot or iced. It was so fun to see the coffee beans shoot across the roasters in the large tubes around the shop - VERY unique and interesting to witness! The staff is super friendly and helps you pick out the perfect coffee blend. I really appreciated all of the suggestions! Will be back very soon! read more

I was charged over $8 for a latte. Their price listing shows $5. When I asked how come it was so much more, I was told it was an extra $1 for oatmilk and $1 for ice. Nowhere did I see the extra cost for oatmilk or ICE, and even if I had, there was still over a dollar of charge not accounted for. Check your receipts. They're ripping you off. read more

My team of millennials is always on the lookout for the next best coffee and experience. I sometimes tag along, usually to pick up the tab, and they deserve it. Our office is in Dupont Circle (DC), and as we were heading out, I heard we were going to the place called the Roasting Plant or something similar, so I said sure. We walked into the "Roasting Plant Coffee," and I was immediately distracted, delightfully by the tubes running across the ceiling, the cylinders of coffee lined up like tubes ready to serve, and the process struck me: I ordered my coffee, selected my bean, and "WOW" the process: vacuum, roasting, grinding, and then my coffee. I am an equal opportunity coffee guy; everyone gets a chance, but this cup of hot mocha was "THE BEST" cup, hands down. I don't recall the price, and honestly, like most things if something is good, really good it should cost a bit more than the average experience and you don't need to learn grande is not big, just order your coffee and use normal lingo to say "medium please". read more

Great spot with easy access from locations in downtown Washington, DC. I had an iced Guatemalan coffee, which was ground and brewed right in front of me--very cool process. The standout was their unique "Flash Chiller," which chilled the coffee almost instantly without watering it down. Service was excellent as well: an outgoing and friendly front-of-house staff member and a professional, knowledgeable barista. Disappointed in our experience, with a misleading Yelp star rating. Not sure why it's rated so highly, to be honest. Ordered a couple of gingerbread lattes-0 gingerbread flavor whatsoever (if there was, it was faint) and the coffee itself tasted burnt. The place also had a weird bathroom smell throughout. Not sure if there's something going on with their pipes. Cleanliness throughout the cafe and the restroom itself was lacking as well. I ordered a large (4 shots) iced honey oat milk latte. The barista accidentally made it a medium (3 shots) but never addressed it. I watched him pour the drink into a large cup and just add more milk. For a $9 coffee, I expected better. Will not be back. read more

Modern coffee shop in Washington. They have Blue Mountain Coffee and Kona Hawaiian coffee. Similar to Celtic Café for the roasting concept but less authentic, or at least less soul. Between Celtic Coffee Roaster and Roasting Plant I will definitely choose Celtic Coffee Roaster because of the authenticity. Overpriced and staffed by jerks. I bought 3 drinks and some food. They didn't even offer a receipt. When I asked for one, the guy acted like I was the unreasonable one.
