Wonderful little coffee shop located in the Pillsbury Building in the heart of downtown DC. I fell in love with The Coffee Bar's other location Shaw for their incredible coffee, friendly staff, and great vibes, and their downtown version is no different. Their coffee is rich, slightly nutty, and super smooth, and it's great in all forms -- latte, americano, drip, etc. If you don't love coffee, their matcha latte is also phenomenal and probably one of my favorites in DC. The ambiance is a little bit more corporate and a smidge more snug than the Shaw location, but it's still delightful. There are a few seats available at the window-side bar or at a long table in the center of the café, but this spot is also the perfect destination for a little mid-workday stroll with a cup of joe to go.

Bright and airy coffee shop with air conditioning . Great service, strong coffee, and close to the WeWorks. Loved crowd-watching too - definitely worth checking out!

Their iced vanilla latte is honestly one of my favorites in DC. It's so simple but they manage to make it delicious every time! I love that they use a shaker to combine everything before pouring it into a glass. It helps ensure everything is combined and I love it. The space inside is very small so it's definitely more of a to go spot, but it's close to so many office buildings and open working spaces that I don't mind at all.

Excellent customer service and delish lattes! Nice decor and ambiance. Definitely would come back.

This is great little independent spot to have amidst the sea of Starbucks downtown. I'm a fan of their iced coffee and oat milk lattes, and they aren't as steeply priced as some other places around here. They've got pastries and some packaged options (which are vegan, but would love more food options for people with dietary restrictions!) They also have a gender-neutral accessible bathroom which is great. The place is small though, with not much seating, unlike their other location on the opposite side of 14th. So it can get crowded easily so there's sometimes a line.

    Cute latte!

I have passed the coffee bar several times but couldn't see the name of it. It often had a good amount of people inside so I have been wanting to try it out. Today I finally did and I'm quite pleased. The coffee shop is cute and offers a bit more of a local vibe which I like. I ordered a soy latte and the coffee flavor was great. The latte was steamed perfectly. And the kicker was the cute design on top with my name! I came back and showed all my coworkers haha. I def plan to come back here!

After many trips to DC and bouncing around the city to find great coffee this is definitely one of my top choices! Very conveniently located right by DuPont Circle and somewhat off of the beaten path. The first time I visited The Coffee Bar I loved my latte so much I had to order a second one to go! If you're visiting DC and looking for a place to grab your morning cup of coffee this is the place! Also tried a ham/cheese croissant that was delicious as well.

Found this little gem near my office and was so happy I had time to stop by. I ordered Chai tea for the first time and it won't be my last. Im not much of a coffee/tea drinker, but thankfully the cashier was very patient with me and explained the menu options. Can't wait to go back!

I love the coffee bar. Everyone was great. The food and coffee was wonderful and the ambience was positive and uplifting. I found the establishment to be very clean and servers knew how to serve the coffee and food. In some establishments, they'll touch the top of your cup or your plates or your utensils which is, really not restaurant best practice. I always appreciate company that trains their people well and the people that work there care about customers.

Coffee snob here came for some coffee, wanted to try drip it's always my go to when trying a new place because if they can't do drip right it might be downhill from there. Coffee was great service was fast just wish there was more seating

I was too quick to judge, and I was wrong. I owe TCB that admission. This is now one of my favorite coffee places in DC. They get classic coffee drinks right. After what had struck me as an inconsistent early period after opening, this place has been SO GOOD. I recently tried the best flat white I've had in the city, and their cortado and cappucino are excellent as well. If you love lattes, the cardamom latte is quite tasty. In general, the drinks are better if you sit down and drink them there versus taking them to go (this should probably be the case universally, but at lower caliber establishments I found it doesn't matter as much). Their baristas are also very friendly and the place just has a really great, laid-back vibe. I'm trying to go here regularly during the week, and you should too.

Everything you want your coffee shop to be. Pleasant & hasty service, lively and artful ambiance with cool colors and thoughtful elements worked into the nook and crannies. That turquoise neon sign with the scribbly handwriting?! Something in me just loves that and it feels perfect for the coffee bar. My cortado was delicious and my husband enjoyed a pumpkin on his latte!

While not the best coffee shop I've ever been to, I genuinely appreciated how friendly the staff were -- particularly the individual taking orders at the register. She made sure to spell each customer's name correctly and just brought a smile to my face! I ordered a matcha latte -- usually I go for almond milk, but they only had soy / oat milk substitutes. The matcha latte wasn't particularly flavorful and tasted more watery than anything. I wanted to give it another shot the next morning, but they were out of matcha then... I also got a honey pistachio kougin aman pastry, which was a bit dry and pretty sweet. Not my favorite but still an interesting / fun pastry! Food: 1. Honey Pistachio Kougin Aman (3.5/5) Drink: 1. Matcha Latte with Soy (3/5)

The tuna sandwich asked for lettuce and told can't add lettuce. My husband asked for something not on his lamb pita, same story. Oh well. No customization at all, no subs. Makes business easier, but not as attractive for price point for customers. I'll remember to keep it to coffee and pastries from now on. Chicken pita was good, a bit heavy on the parsley but loved the dressing. Tuna sandwich was a hit. Pastries are always good. My pistachio latte was chewy bc it had grainy bits of pistachio in it. The star was the Hazelnut, which did taste exactly like ferrero, which meant it was delicious.
