We were in the area to catch a movie and walked by Baked & Wired. There was a line before and after the movie, but it moves fast so we got on the line. I had a large oat milk latte, which apparently comes with 4 shots. I'm so used to lattes coming with just 1 shot, so I had originally ordered a double. The barista questioned that as she was making the order and they even refunded us because I definitely did not need an 8 shot latte. I had a raspberry lemon bar, which was really good. Baked is wired is well known in the Nation's Capitol for having some of the best cupcakes in the city. To be honest with you, I'd have to agree. The line that comes out of the building and onto the street no matter what time of day you visit is proof of that. The few times I've had cupcakes here, I've been blown away! They make an amazing red velvet, and cookies and cream (I'd have to say those two are my favorites.) I've also had other delicious treats like their "Millionaire OMG Bar", "Soccer Mom Bar", and Rice Krispie treats. There's no other way to describe their baked goods other than delicious. I also appreciate that the workers are very effiencet in getting customers in and out. Be aware that there are two different lines; the "Baked" side with the long line for baked good, and the "Wired" side where you can order different caffeinated beverages, which from what I've seen, dosen't have a long line at all. Personally, their drinks are where they fall short for me. I've tried their teas and lattes and I just haven't been blown away by them. In my opinion, they're just not seet enough (even when I put in extra sweetner). So tbh, you'll only catch me on the "Baked" side to get some delicious sweet treats. read more

We got the cherry blossom and strawberry cupcakes. They were surprisingly not overly sweet and the cake part was crumbly and light. The bakery is tucked away in a quieter part of Georgetown and it's a pretty large location. Half of the place has the bakery and the other part was for drinks. The servers are also really nice and gave me great recommendations. I heard about this bakery on IG, and decided to try. I was skeptical because its in Georgetown...one of the most congested areas on D.C. but...i braved the traffic to try them out. Wow....just wow. After hearing about these fancy cupcakes online we basically made an entire day trip out to Georgetown just to try them, and they were worth it! The cupcakes are not only large, but uniquely tall in their aspect ratio compared to most other cupcakes. The extra height results in getting a higher cupcake to frosting ratio per bite. If you usually feel like cupcakes are too sweet because of too much frosting, this unique cupcake shape really helps with that. We got the Red Velvet and Dirty Chai cupcakes. Both of them were moist without being too oily, pillowy soft, and had frosting that wasn't overly sweet. The frosting has that somewhat hard outer shell texture which I like. The cupcakes were so big and toe-curling delicious that we even took our leftovers onto the plane flight across the country as a souvenir snack. This charming bakery and café is set up in an interesting way - split on two different sides of the hallway - but it totally works.
