Came in a little after opening to get some cupcakes. The flavors we wanted were not ready yet but they were able to put icing on the strawberry cupcakes so that we could at least get two of those. We thought that was nice! But we're still wondering why everything wasn't already ready for opening. I wasn't in love with the cupcakes but the red velvet with cream cheese icing was my favorite
For my birthday, my sister asked me what kind of cake I wanted and I was really in the mood for a strawberry cake. I did some googling came across Bakeshop and sent her the link. I think she was a little surprised that the smallest cake was $55 but she wanted me to have what I wanted and she ordered one. I could not be more disappointed. The cake is very dry and honestly not good. For $55 I was shocked. I'm sorry, I wanted to write a raving review and be a longtime customer for all of the birthday cakes in my five person household going forward, but I will never recommend Bakeshop to anyone and I will never be back. I could've made a better cake from a Betty Crocker mix from the grocery store and we would've enjoyed that cake so much more. I don't even want the leftovers of this cake and I LOVE cake....super bummed.
Updating my review because I left for a couple of years and came back. It's just as good as it always was!! Love the selection of cookies, macarons, and other baked goods. It's all delicious. Still quite small, but I did see a couple of groups of 2-3 hanging out at the small tables.
Cute shop filled with lots of treats! Order at the counter and they offer some seating to enjoy as well. Went there to purchase some vegan cookies for one of my colleagues. They had a great selection and each cookie is wrapped individually. I bought 5 and will report back after they try them. The shop has cookies, cupcakes, cakes, breads, and some other goodies that include vegan and gluten-free options. I couldn't resist a slice of their gingerbread bread with cream cheese icing. I was not disappointed at all and worth every calorie - dense, moist and the right spice level. Glad I don't live close to there because I likely would be stopping in a couple more times during the season. They also had gluten free mint brownies that looked delicious. The person helping me said those are a staple, so something I'll likely try in the future.
I preordered a 3 layer cake for delivery in downtown dc. They called to complete my order right away, and delivery driver was super nice and on time. The cake was SO good. I'm not a cake person, but I got a bday cake for my friend who is big time. You will not be disappointed. It's a bit pricey but my goodness worth every single penny and bite!!!
4.5 stars. Came here for a pick me up on a rainy day, knowing that we weren't doing anything too special for Thanksgiving. Went inside and it was a lot busier than I remember from Covid days -- happy to see the business is thriving! Long line and super busy, but we were leading up to Thanksgiving so that was expected Unfortunately since Covid days, I developed a pretty strong intolerance to gluten. I'm grateful that though there weren't many options, they marked clearly what is gluten free. Few brownies and mostly all macarons were gluten free. We picked up a mint frosted gluten free brownie. It was on the higher side for pricing at around $7 after tax and tip, but it was still pretty good. Definitely more of a once in a while treat than a weekly thing, especially how rich the brownie was. Not too much seating if I remember any, and it's a little packed to comfortably eat anyway. More of a take away place than a sit down bakery. I recommend giving them a try if you're in the area! They also have a Georgetown location if that's more local to you.

This is one of my go to spots when I want a sweet treat, but don't feel like making it for myself. The cherry scones are good, and make a nice breakfast with a cup of tea. I purchased a variety of cupcakes to share with my coworkers, I liked the strawberry, Red Velvet, and chocolate with vanilla buttercream. I was not a fan of the snickerdoodle cupcake.
This was my first time at the VA location after loving the Georgetown location for a while. I stopped by and got an iced vanilla latte, some cookies, and a savory scone. Everything was excellent and the service was friendly and fast
Absolutely delicious cupcakes! Really awesome variety of flavors too. Carrot cake was to DIE for!!
Sweet little coffee shop and bakery in Clarendon. This place is a cutie shop with hr nicest staff. I have come in here a couple times for their cookies and have not been disappointed. Great alternative to the pricier coffee shops down the street( looking at you Tatte )
The place was neat and looks cozy. They have only indoor sittings and mostly people stop-by for takeout than dining in. Staff were eager to help and really help to provide recommendations for your likings. We had their ice cream which is the cookie vanilla sandwich and the Macaron Red Velvet ice cream. For sweet tooth go for the cookies for the mid sweet, go for the macaron. The combination was so good! We will surely go back to this place!
I always believe that you should save room for dessert. I was excited to see this bakery after visiting a nearby restaurant. As soon as you walk in there is a freezer and a cold case filled with frozen ice cream sandwiches and cold desserts like banana pudding and cake slices. Behind the counter is the display case of cookies, cupcakes, macarons and various other dessert items. I had a hard time deciding what to try first. I went with two cookies and a cupcake. The cookies were very large. The peanut butter was flavorful but had a dry aftertaste. The chocolate chip cookie was made with brown butter which brought out the sweetness in the cookie. There were two options for the red velvet cupcake. I chose the buttercream option. The cake part was light and airy. The cupcake was on the smaller side. The icing was not overly sweet. The bake shop was not crowded when I was there which allowed me a chance to see what other options were available. However I could see if the place was busier, I would have felt pressured to pick things quickly so that I would not be holding up the line.
Stumbled upon this cozy bakery yesterday! Welcoming and upbeat staff. The interior gives me nostalgia of bakeries in the early 2000's, and it also reminds me of bakeries in Europe. I got a butter chocolate chip cookie to go! Yum!!! Delicious beyond measure! I will go back for more! cheers! read more
Tried the Vienna location first from a Yelp Elite event. Really enjoyed my time and decided to stop by for breakfast! I got a McLovin (Sasuage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit), a New Orleans style coffee, a slice of PB Nutella Pie, and two cookies: one Oreo in a blanket and the other a PB Cup in a Blanket (which are basically chocolate chip cookies with an Oreo and PB Cup inside of them). I've had the pie and coffee before and loved. But the other items are new. I'll start with the McLovin: it's incredible! All the flavors work together nicely. The buttermilk biscuit is nice and fluffy and the sausage is well seasoned and egg was cooked to perfection with some melty cheese! The PB Cup in and blanket was yummy too! A stagger advised I heat it ijnthe microwave for 10 seconds and it was so gooey! The Oreo in a Blanket was also great! I really enjoy Bakeshop and I'm so glad I live really close to one! I've been to the Vienna and Arlington locations and the staff for both are really nice! Quick service too! read more
This is for sure the best bakery in Arlington- hands down. We came here after a run and ordered two slices of raspberry cake with cream cheese frosting. My friend also ordered a house ice tea, while I was content sipping on a vanilla cappuccino. We then sat at the long bench at the front window and people watched. I was impressed by the number of people that were coming in to buy their yummy baked pastries. We loved the early 80's music as well! read more

This shop is very unsuspecting... My friends and I were on our way to another bakery when we walked past Bakeshop- we didn't think much of as it was a small and cozy shop; but I am so glad we tried it. They offered a lot of non-basic flavors for macarons, and a lot of cupcake options. They also offered cookie sandwiches as well. Taro Macaron: 3.8 of 5 - it tasted "sweet with a hint of taro" Pandan Macaron: 5 of 5 - I loved this macaron so much, the taste of the Pandan really came through with each bite I highly recommend checking out this bakeshop; I would definitely come back for their Pandan and to try other macarons! read more

I've been a devoted customer at Bakeshop for a couple of years, and it never fails to impress. During my latest visit, I picked up some cupcakes and macarons for a family event, and they were nothing short of fantastic. This time i went earlier in the morning (around 11AM) and noticed that they only had their standard daily cupcakes ready, which are delicious in their own right, though specialty cupcakes appear later in the day. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and always willing to assist. While there is limited seating available if you'd like to enjoy a breakfast sandwich on site, I would suggest takeaway as a more comfortable option. I love their Key Lime Pie - it's a family favorite. I make it a point to special order it for many family gatherings in the summer. Additionally, their gluten-free brownies are a huge success, even among those who don't typically follow a gluten-free diet. Overall, the Clarendon Bakeshop remains a cherished spot for delectable treats and welcoming service. read more
NEAR PERFECT PIE!! I ordered a Snickerdoodle and Key Lime Pie slice through Uber Eats. They ended up giving me a sugar cookie which was good. The key lime pie was near perfect in my opinion. It had the perfect amount of crust, the filling wasn't too sweet or tart (if it was a touch tarter I'd call it perfect), and it had whipped cream which I prefer over meringue. Overall, if you're a key lime lover, you should definitely try this place. read more

Super friendly folks found here! First time at this location on a Sunday afternoon, and I was not disappointed by the service or products. I tried their seasonal French toast latte, cheddar scone, and taro cupcake. The scone was satisfying and savory enough to gratify any cheese lover. Also, the taro cupcake was surprisingly flavorful! The latte was not too sweet, either. Several folks picked up their online orders, and I noticed quite a few folks ordered vegan options, too. It's a very good neighborhood shop without any pretense or angst. read more

I must say this place hit a home run! The counter persons were super friendly and welcoming. I had a hot steaming Americano because decaf is the only way for me. They only drip regular coffee and not decaf. Still a solid experience. The red velvet cupcake was super moist and yummy. The cream cheese frosting is tasting and is super sweet, so I couldn't eat all of the icing. The have a large variety of vegan baked good and that was a major win for one of my friends. We sat at the counter and had a nice conversation after the brunch we had nearby. They also have macaroons, ice cream sandwiches, cookies and assorted baked goodies. Cupcakes: fluff, moist, and delicious! The butter cream red velvet was my favorite but all of them are great that I've tried. Cookies: there's a broad range between the cookies in terms of taste, size, texture. Tried the pb brownie and it sucked: hard, crumbly, tasted bad. Food - 2. Service and ambiance - na as it was a pickup order and I didn't see the place. I am surprised at the positive reviews but I would be willing to try their other menu items. We had the cupcakes only and they were very dry. The equivalent of cupcakes that have been left out on the counter for days without a cover. I could only trying one bite because it did not taste good. We got six different varieties and one of the chocolates was marginally better than the others but not by much. The frosting tasted like nothing - it was not sweet, or buttery, or flavorful. It tasted like what a crisco based frosting would taste like. I have tried many cupcakes and feel confident I know what a god cupcake should taste like. But again - bake shop does get a lot of glowing reviews so I do wonder if I just need to try other items on their menu. read more
Cute little bakery with a ton of both classic and unique baked creations. In addition to their baked goods they also have drinks, a variety of vegan options, chipwiches and ice cream sandwiches between giant macaroons, and a few savory options as well The place is small, but there's plenty of seating I came with my GF for breakfast, and we each got latte's and their "New Yorker" breakfast sandwiches. Our drinks were fine, but nothing to write home about, and our sandwiches were extremely salty. We'll come back to give their baked goods another shot though - they looked delicious! read more

Hi! It's hard to estimate because we make big batches of doughs and we never know how many cookies will come out of one batch.
