Came here for the Coffee Omakase and it was SUCH a fun experience. My husband and I have slightly different tastes when it comes to coffee, and we were each allowed to pick separate options off of the menu for each course which was really nice. We sat at the bar top and got to watch our barista prepare each drink. She was so nice and knowledgeable about the whole menu and had a lot of information to share, but she also gave my us time to sip our drinks and discuss them amongst ourselves. It was a great balance of being able to have an interactive experience with the barista but also being able to casually enjoy our afternoon espressos quietly with each other. Your final drink of choice is served in a larger size and given to-go, so you can continue having your treat even after the experience wraps up. The drinks themselves were so unique and wildly different from one another. I was initially pretty skeptical about an espresso with lemon and peach but it ended up being my favorite one. My only complaint is their base espresso on it's own was one of the more bitter ones I have tried, but mixed into their drinks it was great. I couldn't recommend this experience more highly. I had such a fun time, no part of it felt rushed, I thoroughly enjoyed every part. They even have the option to make the drinks from the Omakase menu decaf if you're trying to limit your caffeine, which is a really nice touch. I will definitely be back! read more

baristas are rude! heard good things about this place so i went out of my way to visit. sitting area is spacious but overall the vibe is underwhelming. asked if they had tea bags as it was not on the menu. was given a dirty look and barista pointed at the boxes on the side. how am i supposed to read through the varities when half of them are facing the wrong way? can i just not be told verbally what they are or shown a list? i didnt even bother asking because of her attitude. chai was not good. just milk and sugar. not to mention the parking costs. yes, it is arlington but simply not worth the hassle. read more

Given the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I was really excited to try the omakase experience. The space was clean and inviting, although a little loud. The service did not match the $150 price point. Our barista seemed fairly new and provided almost no explanation of the drinks, including their names, ingredients, or what made each one unique. I had to repeatedly ask questions, which took away from what should have felt like a guided tasting experience. I understand that everyone has to start somewhere, but for an experience at this price, I expected more knowledgeable and engaging service. The desserts were beautifully made, but several of the sweeter drinks and desserts were overwhelmingly sweet. The final Earl Grey drink and the panna cotta were especially difficult to finish. I rarely leave dessert behind, but I could only manage a few bites. Gute Leute was close to my hotel and a nice cafe to wait a little before leaving for the airport. My first impression is the staff is friendly and the space is big, there are plenty of tables, but it was very busy on the Sunday afternoon I came in. I ordered a pink salted caramel latte and it was as delicious as it sounds, made with a quality espresso. I sipped on it slowly at a table of one and noticed a lot of other people slowing down to enjoy their coffee inside, so it would be nice if they used ceramic mugs for those staying in. When I heard this was the only and very popular Korean-style specialty coffee shop in Arlington, I had to give it a try. Unfortunately, the quality fell short of expectations. The Vietnamese milk latte was disappointing. Where was the cafe sua da flavor? It lacked the balanced deep, dark coffee bitterness and instead tasted mostly like condensed milk, making it way too sweet. The corn latte was average as well. Apparently Gute Leute is German for good people. Which truly embodies this shop. Good people making cute coffee drinks. The space is convenient and has a decent amount of seating. Also if the line is too long for the register, you can order at the kiosk. The lattes here are amazing. Definitely designs can vary depending on your barista, but I've been here a couple of times and one of my favorites is the pistachio latte. Good nutty flavor and love the actual pistachio on top. The chestnut latte is also a good option. It's on the sweeter side but a nice nutty carmely flavor. read more

Had the best time doing an espresso tasting with my lady here. We did both of their tasting menus, which consisted of multiple courses of espresso based drinks and small plates. The service was attentive and we were given a thorough explanation on every single course. Our server was so kind and knowledgeable and the venue itself was very relaxed and open. While we sat at the bar counter, the entire place was aesthetically pleasing, and not too loud; just right for a cute date. The experience itself was also aesthetically pleasing and the courses were thoughtfully executed. We did the coffee omakase experience today as a birthday experience for my husband and absolutely loved it. We did the best of 2025 tasting as well as the Five Frames tasting and it's clear how much thought is put into the tastings. The only thing I found meh about the experience was the food/bite pairings. But overall, this was SO Fun, SO tasty, and I love that the menu is ever changing. This coffee shop has high quality coffee. I don't typically indulge myself but as an exception, I bought their signature affogato and mango matcha latte. The affogato was great and had a subtle biscoff aftertaste. The matcha was high quality like the kind I had tasted in Japan. The line was fast and the employees were really sweet and patient with me. AMAZING!!! Got reservations for the omakase for my boyfriend's birthday and it was so good. You get your own barista for the omakase (or maybe they do it at least 2 people to 1 barista?) and ours was wonderful. They were super knowledgeable, friendly, and we had some laughs as the bubble guns didn't want to cooperate. The bar has 6 seats and then they have more seating in the dining area for those ordering from the regular menu! I 100% recommend to NOT eat a huge meal before... we had something very small before getting there are were so full by the end. My boyfriend did the Best of 2025 omakase and I did the Pairing omakase so we got to try each and every single drink was delicious and the small bites paired well! The pride of the shop is a medium/dark house blend: 50% Brazil Cerrado Imperior NY2 17/18 screen Super Clean 50% Colombia Huila Supremo Super Clean I'm not a coffee connoisseur by any means so I can't say how well the beans were roasted or the quality of the espresso but they were sourced well and while I was underwhelmed by the pistachio latte, the final espresso paired well with the corn latte. Pistachio latte - 3/5 - is a syrup used for pistachio flavor in the coffee? It arrived sickly sweet, artificial and overwhelmingly bitter. I struggled to finish it. Corn Latte - 4/5 - sweet and creamy with fluffy foam. I booked the coffee omakase (yes, like sushi, but make it caffeine) as a little "new job, new era" treat for myself on a cold, rainy day, and honestly, the timing could not have been better. Sitting inside, warm and cozy, sipping through five thoughtfully crafted drinks while the weather did its gloomy thing outside felt indulgent in the best way. Even though a few of the drinks leaned chilled or cold, it still worked perfectly and actually made me think this would be an incredible summer experience too. The tasting itself is $44 (Best of 2024), and my total came to $61 with tip, which feels like an absolute steal for what you get. This is not just coffee being handed to you. Someone is focused on you, walking you through each drink, checking in, prepping everything fresh, and giving you space to enjoy it. It is attentive without being awkward. I went solo, and the couple next to me had their own barista as well, which really drives home how personal the experience is. Every drink is made right in front of you, and that is half the magic. The bubble espresso literally arrives as a bubble you get to pop yourself. The Ember Pine, which is coffee meets sangria, was a standout, with everything poured tableside, a pine cone lit, and a cinnamon stick smoking. It felt ceremonial, almost ritualistic, in the coolest way. You are not rushing, you are participating. You can switch to decaf at any point, and the final drink comes in a to go cup, which I loved. One thing to know going in is that the space is set up like a fast casual café at first, which briefly threw me off. You order at the front if you are grabbing a drink, but if you are there for the tasting, they seat you at the counter and create a completely different experience. Despite being surrounded by offices and shops, the space feels warm and inviting, like somewhere you are meant to linger. I will absolutely be back to see what their spring or winter menus look like, and yes, I am already picturing a return visit on a hot summer day. read more

Tried a couple of their seasonal iced fruit teas (sadly I forgot the exact names), and they were excellent--light, refreshing, slightly bubbly, and not overly sweet at all. The fruit flavors were very prominent. Perfect refreshing drinks during the summer. I also had the rolled vanilla cake. The price was very reasonable for the portion, and the cake itself was incredibly soft, melting in your mouth. The sweetness was very mild and gentle, making it easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. The real standout, though, was the hot Premium Ichiban Matcha tea. This was so subtle in a creamy, smooth, early flavor, like a matcha latte, but I did not ask for milk to be added. Other things to note is that space is limited indoors, and the outdoor seating can get windy. It's always busy when I'm here, which i guess is a good sign. The employee was very nice and walked us through each coffee course. I had the seasonal menu, while my friend had the traditional options. I have gotten coffee here twice now and both the drinks I got were delicious. They have a wide selection of lattes to choose from and some non-coffee drinks that you can add an espresso shot to. I have gotten the Pink Salted Caramel Cream latte which I was told is their most popular but it pales in deliciousness to the Ferrero latte which is essentially a dessert disguised as coffee. i stopped by gute leute, and right from the start i noticed it had a very upscale feel. from the interior decor to the seating arrangement and overall vibe, everything felt thoughtful, pleasant, and clean. what really blew me away was the menu, it featured such unique combinations that i honestly wanted to try everything. i opted for the maple latte, and it was truly one of the best coffees i've ever had. from the sweet maple cold foam to the perfect ice texture, it was an incredible cup of coffee. i honestly wish i lived closer to this café. the service was also quite quick and reasonable, it was about 5 to 10 minutes to get my drink. just a note: there are plenty of seats inside and bathrooms are available as well. read more

Came for the omakase coffee tasting. It really should not be called a coffee tasting. It was a beverage flight. They start off with you tasting just their espresso (which was delicious!!) and then you enjoy 5 more sweetened beverage. As a typical unsweetened coffee girlie, that was a lot of sugary drinks. But the size was small, it was a fun tasting. We arrived early, and had to wait a while to be seated. I guess the last group ran long? Another couple arrived after we did for the omakase tasting. And somehow got seated before us. That was....less than cool. However, the experience itself was really fun. We went for our anniversary and they threw in some slices of cheesecake. At first we thought they were giving us cheesecake for making us wait 15+min after 6 to be seated. Ha. Our barista was so kind. I wish we had tried both the Best of 2025 AND the omakase experience. You group does not all have to select the same option , and we didn't quite understand that If i had not just purchased two bags of freshly roasted beans earlier in the week, I'd have absolutely left with a bag of their delicious espresso.
