Ballstonian is a unique coffee cart located in a nook between buildings in Ballston. There are large rugs and cushions for seating lining the sides of the area with the cart towards the back. We came here after a little rain and still sat there, even though the cushions were wet because the ambiance was nice. Isa was so friendly and you can tell he's passionate about creating a community. I ordered an iced Turkish coffee mocha for there. We didn't pay when we ordered and were told to find a seat for them to bring our drinks to us. The mocha was delicious from start to end. It wasn't overly sweet and the chocolate flavor lingers after each sip in a nice way. We were able to take our time and just chitchat for a while before taking our cups back to the cart, which is when we paid for our drinks. Ballstonian is a slower-paced, neighborly coffee stand, which I would highly recommend!

Wonderful and unique Turkish style food truck with basic desserts like baklava, plus different flavors of coffee and tea, as well as fabric chairs with intricate designs. The owner is super friendly as well! They also take cash or credit. Overall, this is a great place to relax in the middle of the hustle and bustle on a nice day in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington, yet still have a great feeling of relaxation. I will eventually come back!

This is a hidden gem that popped up on my news feed one day from the recommendation of others. The owner is very kind and great service. I got the turkish coffee and a simit (Turkish bagel) that was freshly baked and delicious. The borek ran out unfortunately and the next batch wouldn't be available for at least 20 minutes. There are several rugs that you can dine one and its perfect activity on a sunny day. Just to note, there is no indoor seating so I wouldn't come on a rainy day. I stopped by after I worked out in a nearby gym.

Absolutely delightful!! (and the coffee came with a bit of Turkish Delight). Incredibly wonderful setting. I loved the experience of sitting on a Persian rug with a cushion...enjoying a morning coffee like a Sultan! Such a warm reception and individualized service, it makes for one of the best morning "dates" with my significant other!

A really cute and great coffee stand in Arlington. We got the Turkish coffee and the Turkish coffee mocha. They were both very good and not too sweet (I got the medium sweetness level), but you can always adjust the sweetness to your liking. The mocha was a mixture of Turkish coffee and spiced hot chocolate, and that was really good too! The seats are also very cute. The owner was very friendly too! Highly recommend :)

The restaurant serves Turkish cuisine, which I'm a big fan of. The interior is surprisingly beautiful, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. There's also plenty of outdoor seating and a bar area. Service was friendly, and everything we ordered tasted fresh--from the bread and fries to the tea and soup. I had the beef and lamb döner, which was delicious and well-prepared. The parking lot is a bit tight, but it's manageable. Overall, a great experience and a spot I'd definitely return to

The steak is incredibly tender from the very first bite, with high-quality meat and excellent flavor. If you're in the Arlington area, I highly recommend giving it a try--you won't be disappointed! And, of course, I can't leave out the chicken. It's juicy, flavorful, and seasoned with a unique touch that, in my opinion, only Istanbul Grill can deliver. The atmosphere is another highlight. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a variety of drinks, while still feeling warm and welcoming if you're visiting with family and children. Overall, Istanbul Grill is a fantastic spot for great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended if you're in the area!

The Musakka dishes are served with a side of rice pilaf and the Omelete with a side of fries. Bottom line - all three of us found the entrees to be bland. In fairness, I have only had Greek Musakka before, but I expected more seasoning and flavor, and my friend (the vegetarian) noted that they didn't get a hint of Bechamel - only mozzarella. I tend to agree the entree was heavy on the mozzarella and light on other flavors. We agreed that the rice was very good, both in texture and mild flavor. The french fries also were very good. The service here continues to be beyond excellent. Really good service. If I could give 3.5 as a score, I would, because the service was exceptional. But this is the second time I was here and both times found the entree to be bland. Maybe that's how Turkish food is - if so, please let me know, but I doubt it. The restaurant, which is very attractive and comfortable inside, has been around for 45 years and has an average Yelp score of 4.2. So obviously, a lot of people like it. I just call it like I see it.

Plus they have a great track record---they've been around for 44 years. They open for dinner on Saturdays at 5 p.m. That's when we arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. We liked their two top tables as they were wide and able to accommodate several items at once without feeling cramped. Our server was prompt getting to us. To drink, we both had ginger ale. For dinner, I had Filet Mignon Shish which consisted of: "charcoal grilled tender chunks of filet mignon skewered with fresh tomatoes, green peppers and onions. Served with rice pilaf and vegetable du jour". My husband had "Lamb Chops Karaman" which consists of: "Mediterranean cut tender lamb chops grilled to your perfection. Served with vegetable du jour and rice pilaf". Meals come with a side salad which is simply prepared. Our server offered to grind some pepper over them and we agreed. Plus two warm pitas along with butter were served. We found the food to be delicious. My filet mignon was served medium rare and was very tender, moist and flavorful. The grilled veggies were tender crisp. The vegetables du jour were nicely flavored and tender. The pilaf was wonderful---moist and flavorful. My husband really enjoyed his lamb chops. There were four on the plate cooked medium. He found them to be tender and flavorful. He, too, enjoyed the vegetables du jour and the pilaf. We saved room for dessert and ordered the "Mixed dessert tray for two". The selection varies each day so if you want to order this, ask your server what is on the plate that day. When we ordered it, there were 2 small pieces of each item. There was Turkish rice pudding, which was quite good and quite different from what one expects. Also, there was some pumpkin that was sweetened and tender. Creme caramel custard was also on the platter. The baklava was the star of the plate. Kazan makes their own which is orange flavored and awesome! The phyllo dough was crispy and light plus drizzled with honey and the orange flavoring came through clearly. My husband also had a Turkish coffee which he ordered medium sweet. I had Turkish tea which came with 5 sugar cubes on the side. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated with Turkish items. Service from start to finish was excellent. We left feeling like we had enough to eat but not so much that we were stuffed. And, yes, we intend to return!

Our server recommended some good options for us and was very thorough in making sure there was no cross-contamination with my friend's allergens. TEKMIL FAVA - 14 Incredibly delicious dip that's incredibly dill-forward. The bread that came with it was just OK, but the citrusy and herb combination was addictive. We would definitely recommend it! ZEYTİNYAĞLI ENGİNAR - 24 Not the biggest artichoke fan, but my artichoke-loving friend really enjoyed this. It was soft with the perfect texture, but not my favorite. MERCIMEK ÇORBASI - 14 This red lentil soup had a runnier consistency which was perfect. It came out hot, and topped with buttery bread crumbs that was crunchy and tasty. I love soup and would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good lentil soup. ÇÖP ŞIŞ - 23 The tomato paste/sauce was so fresh and sweet, topped with fresh herbs and lavash (type of flatbread) as the base. Definitely eat this as fresh as possible. Underneath the flatbread were five lamb skewers, which was smoky and flavorful. The combination of the savory lamb and fresh tomatoes was phenomenal. MANTI - 24 These are delicate and small beef dumplings mixed with a creamy yogurt sauce and spices. The dumpling skin was perfectly thin, and the beef was well-seasoned. The sauce was a bit much, but it complements the dumplings well in moderation. KEŞKÜL - 13 The almond pudding was addictive -- not too sweet and slightly nutty, making you want more and more of it. This was definitely our favorite dessert of the night and they were incredibly generous with the amount of almonds they give you! REVANI - 15 A bit dense, sweeter than I'd like -- this is a corn flour cake with some whipped cream and rhubarb jam on the side. Our server said this was one of the "less sweet" dessert options, so the ones we didn't order are probably a lot sweeter. Food was good, and we had a great experience! Girit Ezmesi: The star dish-rich, creamy, the right amount of salt, tons of delicious cheese, amazing with the pide. Manti: Well-cooked beef dumplings, perfect dough texture, and a delicious yogurt sauce. Taze Bakla: I loved the unique texture of the fava beans, the dill provided great freshness, and the yogurt creaminess. Közlenmiş Patlıcan Salatası: The eggplant was nicely cooked and smoky, with good added flavor from the peppers and garlic. We shared the Tel Kadayif for dessert, which had great crunch, sweetness, and texture. I would highly recommend My Little Chamomile for your next date night or celebratory occasion!
