The espresso omakase is such a fun and delicious experience! The staff are very kind and the flavors and presentations are very inventive. There were 2 of us and we each did a different menu which was fun getting to see and try the other's drinks. Also in total this was about 3 shots of espresso so well balanced too! Definitely make reservations in advance for the omakase.

Amazing coffee every time! While the crunch corn cream latte is my favorite go-to drink, there is not a single item I have tried that I would not get again. What stands out: - Expertly crafted coffee with unique flavors - Clean, minimalistic interior and casual, bustling atmosphere - Professional, prompt, and courteous team Overall, 5/5 in every aspect! Love Gute Leute!

We did the coffee omakase experience today as a birthday experience for my husband and absolutely loved it. We did the best of 2025 tasting as well as the Five Frames tasting and it's clear how much thought is put into the tastings. The only thing I found meh about the experience was the food/bite pairings. But overall, this was SO Fun, SO tasty, and I love that the menu is ever changing. Our barista did an amazing job with explaining the drinks, pacing us, and helping us make decisions on drinks. Overall, I absolutely loved the experience and cannot wait to return to try their regular menu items.

All their espresso drinks are so creative, so good. Definitely a TREAT their drinks are on the sweeter side. I cannot emphasize this enough PLEASE GET THE CRUNCH CORN LATTE IT IS PHENOMENAL!!! My friend visited me for a week and she had FOUR corn lattes during that week. Ambiance is really nice! Decor is very minimalist and chic; my mom loved it here because every picture you take here turns out so nice.

Pulled up to the leute. You can order on the kiosk or with the person at the counter. Plenty of seating inside. I got an iced matcha latte with oat milk and it was perfect! They have an omakase which i want to try but for a quick in and out, it's a great spot in Ballston!

This elegant café has a scrumptious array of espresso, matcha and milk drinks, pastries and bingsu. They have a lot of flavors that are popular in Korea and the US and the presentation is excellent. The baristas make the drinks quickly but didn't cut corners. I was impressed! The pride of the shop is a medium/dark house blend: 50% Brazil Cerrado Imperior NY2 17/18 screen Super Clean 50% Colombia Huila Supremo Super Clean I'm not a coffee connoisseur by any means so I can't say how well the beans were roasted or the quality of the espresso but they were sourced well and while I was underwhelmed by the pistachio latte, the final espresso paired well with the corn latte. Pistachio latte - 3/5 - is a syrup used for pistachio flavor in the coffee? It arrived sickly sweet, artificial and overwhelmingly bitter. I struggled to finish it. Corn Latte - 4/5 - sweet and creamy with fluffy foam. I prefer the corn latte from other shops but this one was tasty enough that I'd either go back or try something new since the ambiance is nice.

I booked the coffee omakase (yes, like sushi, but make it caffeine) as a little "new job, new era" treat for myself on a cold, rainy day, and honestly, the timing could not have been better. Sitting inside, warm and cozy, sipping through five thoughtfully crafted drinks while the weather did its gloomy thing outside felt indulgent in the best way. Even though a few of the drinks leaned chilled or cold, it still worked perfectly and actually made me think this would be an incredible summer experience too. The tasting itself is $44 (Best of 2024), and my total came to $61 with tip, which feels like an absolute steal for what you get. This is not just coffee being handed to you. Someone is focused on you, walking you through each drink, checking in, prepping everything fresh, and giving you space to enjoy it. It is attentive without being awkward. I went solo, and the couple next to me had their own barista as well, which really drives home how personal the experience is. Every drink is made right in front of you, and that is half the magic. The bubble espresso literally arrives as a bubble you get to pop yourself. The Ember Pine, which is coffee meets sangria, was a standout, with everything poured tableside, a pine cone lit, and a cinnamon stick smoking. It felt ceremonial, almost ritualistic, in the coolest way. You are not rushing, you are participating. You can switch to decaf at any point, and the final drink comes in a to go cup, which I loved. One thing to know going in is that the space is set up like a fast casual café at first, which briefly threw me off. You order at the front if you are grabbing a drink, but if you are there for the tasting, they seat you at the counter and create a completely different experience. Despite being surrounded by offices and shops, the space feels warm and inviting, like somewhere you are meant to linger. I will absolutely be back to see what their spring or winter menus look like, and yes, I am already picturing a return visit on a hot summer day.

Strawberry Matcha Latte

I'll keep it short--this wasn't a great experience. The matcha was underwhelming, especially for the price (about $7), and tasted more like milk than actual matcha. The shop itself is cute and has a nice vibe, but when I asked if anything could be done about the drink, I was told they couldn't help. Unfortunately, between the quality and the service, it wasn't worth it for me.

Sharmane G.

Tried a couple of their seasonal iced fruit teas (sadly I forgot the exact names), and they were excellent--light, refreshing, slightly bubbly, and not overly sweet at all. The fruit flavors were very prominent. Perfect refreshing drinks during the summer. I also had the rolled vanilla cake. The price was very reasonable for the portion, and the cake itself was incredibly soft, melting in your mouth. The sweetness was very mild and gentle, making it easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. The real standout, though, was the hot Premium Ichiban Matcha tea. This was so subtle in a creamy, smooth, early flavor, like a matcha latte, but I did not ask for milk to be added. Other things to note is that space is limited indoors, and the outdoor seating can get windy. It's always busy when I'm here, which i guess is a good sign. I would definitely return if in the area!

I had the most amazing and unique coffee experience here! Me and my friend are both coffee lovers so we decided to book the omakase experience. We were not disappointed. The employee was very nice and walked us through each coffee course. I had the seasonal menu, while my friend had the traditional options. Each course is so unique and we loved all of our drink options. The coffee shop is spacious and bright. You can also just order drinks from their menu. Parking can be challenging during busy times, but there is a parking garage in walking distance and a few spaces in the front of the restaurant. The employee informed us that the seasonal menu changes every few months. I def plan to return!

Gute Leute is a very trendy coffee shop around Ballston. They come up with fun drinks as well as flights. Their basics are solid--strawberry matcha was nicely sweetened with the strawberry at the bottom. You need to mix the drink often, just fyi. Fun place to try different coffee drinks! Large locations, plenty of seating, good Wifi!

Ask the Community - Gute Leute

Is it baby/kid friendly?

It can be. The last time I was there, there were a couple groups with strollers. If it's extremely busy and packed, it might be a tight squeeze though.

Do they offer the omakase in decaf?

According to their instagram person, they do offer it in decaf. Enjoy!

Is there anything wrong with your reservation system on OpenTable? No available slots within one month? Any other ways to book a omakase?

This how limited they are and how busy it is! There is 5% if you walk in , that's a very low chance! Make back up plans

On average, how long does the omakase experience take?

It takes about 40-45 minutes

I fell in love with them while visiting BMore's Cafe Dear Leon and wanted to find a local place offering them...and Yelp led me to Roggenart Bakery. In addition to ordering a Crookie, I ordered a small beet salad, cheese Danish and a ham and cheese breakfast sandwich. I am completely hooked. Everything was so fresh and tasty and I now have a new "go to" spot for my breakfast fix. I have raved so much about Roggenart that my friends and colleagues are now ordering. The customer service is excellent. Even though I have used UE for most of my orders, my packaging is always done well. Nothing is squished or dripping. Can you imagine having beet juice everywhere?!? Also, my co-worker has visited to pick up our order and she said it's very clean and smells amazing. Don't hesitate to order. You won't regret it. Happy eating!!!!

She was kind, welcoming, informative, patient, helpful in every way in a time where she easily could've turned me away. It was any forced, over the top customer service, rather a nice person doing a nice thing and that is truly rare to find these days. Needless to say, she immediately made my day and has given me some Easter spirit lol Of course, the spinach and tomato quiche and pistachio latte were some serious icing on the cake. Thanks again, I'll be back someday to enjoy the peaceful ambiance inside, until then the outside courtyard couldn't be much better By the way, they have a pretty cool deal 50% off baked goods box when they have excess, what a gem!

I gotta give it up for Kaldi's. My first time visiting and while the prices are a little steep…read more(especially for food - $23 for a chicken Caesar salad), I'd def come back. About that $23 salad: The portion is a little skeet (that's an STL term - look it up) but the chicken was honestly juicy and flavorful as hell. And, the salad was full of very fresh spinach, and maybe other greens, as well as a good dressing. They provided a healthy amount of shaved Parmesan, which is my favorite. I would definitely order this again if I knew I was going to be around for a while and really wanted a salad. The vibe inside is so cute. This particular location is huge and there are various types of seating available. They have Wi-Fi, which is helpful., and some of their furniture is super comfy. It is the perfect place to connect or reconnect with a friend. I have never been much of a coffee shop, girl, but I could definitely see myself coming here multiple times a week. Service was good. I didn't interact with them much because all I did was order from a little QR code at my table and they dropped it off, but when observing them interacting with other customers, they seemed nice For the size of this place and people coming in and out, it was surprisingly clean, too. I didn't check the bathrooms out, but parking outside was paid but easy.

Super cute coffee shop but WOW does it get busy here!…read more They do themed drinks for cherry blossom season which certainly contributes to how busy it was, but the drink quality and food is genuinely quite good. The line went out the door and it took a while to find a free table. Service is very friendly despite how busy they were. It took a long time to get our drinks and food (at least 10+ minutes) but that came at no surprise: we were there during rush hour right as the Cherry Blossom 5K ended with a bunch of hungry runners arriving at the same time, us included. The Strawberries & Cream Matcha Latte was a popular pick. I enjoyed mine but it didn't stand out too much from other strawberry matcha lattes I've had in my life. My friend ordered the Earl Grey Matcha Latte and topped it with lavender foam and this was definitely the way to go. Also tried the sundried tomato and feta sandwich which was a perfect light snack. The hash brown and egg burrito was also delicious but really dense.
