Service was pretty fast, but they forgot to add my boba at first, so I had to go back and ask. The ambiance is nice, though. The shop is super cutesy with cute seating and a cozy vibe. My sis wanted Matcha after 7pm and I couldn't find many options so I stumbled upon this spot GONG CHA! There's a machine where you place a customize your drink orders which is so next level, I was so amazed at the options and variations down to the percentage amount of sugar you want. MATCHA WITH ALMOND MILK My sister loved it but wanted vanilla added which I believe they didn't have. I didn't try her drink so I can't say too much about this. COLD ICED BLACK PEACH TEA WITH POPPIN BOBA This was super refreshing with perfect amount of sweetness. The popping boba added the extra I needed, I so love the sealed tops for better reshake and decreases spillage. My total was $18 which was kinda expensive for me but since we didn't have much choice, had to settle but at the same time glad I found this spot which stays open late. Staff were very nice and friendly, place was cool and extra clean. I love the vibes and aesthetics in this place, will definitely come back again. Been here about 5 times now. I think visiting 5 times really gives me an idea of the location. They are very slow compared to other Gong Cha's I have been to. When we arrived, there was no one else in the establishment. My friends and I had to wait 10 minutes between our drinks... so slow that our friend who received his first drink ended up finishing his boba before the last person could receive their drink. I understand they have online orders, but they really should have better time management with customers who arrive as a group. Gong Cha is the OG and there's a reason they're everywhere! Lots of flavor selections, quick service, and good tasting bubble tea. Ordering with the kiosk can be a bit weird because for some reason you can't change sugar or ice level on some drinks, but if you order at the counter the staff can make those modifications for you. I ordered a classic - dirty brown sugar milk tea with boba. The boba was excellent! Not super chewy, but not hard either. Went down easily and tasted great. I was traveling in DC and wanted to find a boba tea spot that could cool me down while I avoided the heat. Found Gong Cha to be nearby thanks to Yelp and I knew Gong Cha was an infamous chain. There aren't any close to where I live but I have heard really great things about them! Decided to give it a try. They had street parking available around 2pm on a Saturday and the street isn't very busy. There is a brunch / beer spot next door. When we got to their door, we thought they were closed since their neon Open sign wasn't on. After trying the door, it seemed like they were indeed open. We went in and started looking at their extensive menu. I have recently converted my date into a boba tea drinker so he was definitely looking at all the cool options. We decided on a mango and a milk tea for drinks and ordered their egg waffle with ice cream to cool us down. This came out to about $20. While we waited, we noticed they had board games and a neat photo op wall. Definitely took advantage of that. It's cute! The drinks came out pretty fast and they were so good. There were many drink options with endless possibilities when it comes to modifications and toppings. The shop was bit small with very limited seating. There was an elevated segment of the shop which is meant for floor seating, where you can play various board games like Jenga. Service was rather quick. Orders are taken through a kiosk and it was pretty straightforward when it came to making any modifications to the sugar/ice level and toppings. I ended up ordering honey green tea with some changes to the ice and sugar levels and found it to be pretty solid. read more

I love coming to this Gong Cha right after eating at Pho 75 for dinner. The contrast of salty pho and sweet boba and the close proximity of both locations keep me coming back for more! This Gong Cha is absolutely amazing minus the fact that they do not have a public bathroom... (I usually go in and out because I all the liquids from the pho broth and large sized boba I drink haha) On the bright side, they have games and little tables you can sit cross cross apple sauce if you come here with friends! This location also serves Momo Mochi donuts and egg waffles!! The aroma fills the space and makes you want to get some. However, I have not fallen yet into the temptation of buying anything except boba. Maybe one day... I have tried Momo mochi donuts elsewhere and they are pretty good depending on the flavor you get! I don't know if it's this location or what, but I always find myself having decision fatigue because it feels like there are SO MANY OPTIONS here compared to other Gong Chas! I've tried several flavors here depending on my mood but there are two that are just absolutely amazing: FRUITY OPTION -Mango Smoothie with White Pearl and Grass Jelly I love the texture of the slush, and mango is just so refreshing. The white pearl and the grass jelly give this one a nice texture. MILKY OPTION -Any tea with Milk Cap and three toppings of choice (I prefer tapioca pearls, lychee jelly, and grass jelly, but if I want something a bit sweeter, I'd add custard) This one is like a DIY. I love swirling the cup and watching the gradient of the milk cap swirl into the tea. I usually do 30% sugar and let the toppings and milk cap help the sweetness. This is a great option if you really want to taste the tea and the toppings. The only downside of not only Ging Cha and most other chains nowadays is that with all these toppings and upgrades, the price of one drink (for large options) inch closer to $10 after tip. As much as I'd love to grab one every day like my college days, boba has turned into a once in a while sort of treat. But maybe that's what makes it so special whenever I get it! Boba isn't cheap here for sure - Black milk tea with pudding was about $5.50 after tax for the smallest sized drink. I guess that's typical for most places but wow, boba prices have definitely gone up. I got it with 30% sugar which I wasn't a huge fan of. The level of sugar was fine but there's this weird aftertaste that I didn't enjoy - tasted kind of like a sugar substitute. Pudding was a nice touch, though. The egg waffle was $5.99 pre-tax and came out nice and hot. Not the fluffiest egg waffle but it was definitely a delectable treat to share with my friend while catching up. The boba-ristas were pretty rude when I asked to use the bathroom. When I came here last week during the day, the bathroom was closed too so I'm not sure if there is a public bathroom at this location. Overall, not great but not horrible. Love this environment. Came here after a comedy show, and we were served quickly! I ordered a passion fruit green tea with a creme brûlée topping, no ice, and half sugar. I recommend getting no ice if you want more of the drink and less of a watery substance! It's just as good lukewarm as compared to cold in my opinion. The creme brûlée topping was different than I had expected. It was more like a warm caramel creme put on top of the drink. It definitely did not go well with the green tea drink so I wouldn't recommend that combo. I wish the receptionist also provided advice regarding that! When COVID-19 isn't happening, it appears they have small tables where you can hangout, play some of their board games, and sip on boba. Gongcha is among the best bubble tea in the area. I've had several different teas, and honestly they never disappoint. The classic milk tea is silky smooth. The strawberry matcha latte is the perfect balance so you can taste both the strawberry and the matcha. The taro milk drink is very creamy. And dirty brown sugar milk tea is just like the classic milk tea but with a little bit of a caramel like extra sweetness. Most importantly, the boba is always soft and chewy. Just a word of caution: the 100% sweetness is definitely on the sweet side. I always get 50% sweet, and it's perfect. read more

I like the options here but the service is mixed. Some are friendly while others seem to be doing you a favor (and I still got the wrong order after going through that initial ordeal - couldn't get the girl's attention but the guy popped over and fixed my drink real quick). As for ordering, they have egg puffs which I love though sometimes a little overcooked. It can be hard to get that perfect crispness (not too much but not too little) on the outside and the fluffy softness inside. They have different flavors but I personally prefer the classic style. For drinks, I love the hot ones on cold days and cold ones on hot days. I tend to default to earl grey or oolong with boba for hot and to the aiyu with lemon and white pearls or the 3Js for cold drinks. I plan to come back and try some other flavors read more

I requested the drink not to be super sweet so they modified it to 50% sweetness. It was so perfect! It wasn't too sweet, enough of the green tea taste, and the fruitiness of the Strawberries was perfect. I didn't taste an artificial strawberry flavor which is a concern many times when I have a tea drink. The new "topping" Peach Star complimented the strawberry tea very well. I love coming to Gong Cha for a sweet ending to a great Japanese meal at its neighbor, Toryumon. You order via a screen, which is easy to do, and service is nice and quick. I usually get the egg waffle with ice cream, which should be more commonly found but strangely is not. They offer regular and chocolate egg waffles (I recommend chocolate), with vanilla ice cream. I don't know why they don't offer chocolate ice cream, as the regular waffle + chocolate ice cream combo seems like it would be a logical and delicious combo. More ice cream and waffle flavors would be even better, but I think chocolate ice cream is a reasonable expansion. The combo with ice cream is over $9, which is very expensive! I think $6 would be fair, or $7 max as I could easily devour one myself in a setting, and there is only one scoop of ice cream included. My husband gets the taro drink, which is good quality but also too expensive IMO. Though the store itself is small, the seating is ample and very nicely arranged, with games and nice decor. Bubble tea is one of my favorite drinks. I always get the original milk tea with bubbles, half sugar, and 30% ice. The bubbles are squishy and "qq" and the tea is not too sweet with half sugar. Although I did go back a couple days later and ordered the same thing and felt like maybe they didn't put enough sugar in the second time bc it didn't taste as sweet.
