They have your standard drinks and some specialty ones you might have trouble getting. I haven't tried food here yet but it's mostly the sticker shock from how much bubble tea costs these days no matter where you go. I drink milk tea regularly. I've tried all the big chains in the area and many of the independent shops out there in Maryland, DC and Virginia. Let me tell you why this place stood out. First, the menu is printed on a piece of paper, laminated and stuck to the door and at the register. This made it slightly challenging to decide what we wanted as first time patrons. I love an independent shop though. Ultimately, this place has interesting drinks that I haven't seen elsewhere. I ordered a guava milk tea with coconut jelly at 25% sugar and I was in love with this drink! It was so perfect, creamy and lightly flavored. The coconut jelly was the perfect match for this drink and it was cold but didn't have too much ice. I gushed about this drink on my entire ride home, I've never had anything like it! I ordered the That's Taro-Fic milk tea for myself and the Train to Bangkok milk tea for my husband. Don't let the IG-worthy snapshots of their drinks that are featured on their social media accounts fool you - you won't be receiving anything close to it. The menu offers milk teas, fruit teas, and specialty teas, as well as various Asian Vietnamese snacks (like vermicelli rolls, pho, and banh mis). I ordered a Brown Cow (with boba, black tea, brown sugar, and milk) and the Salty Lemonade. It's interesting because you have an individual on this business site saying that the place uses non-dairy products, but mine was made using 'regular' milk. Aside from the milk, the drink was extremely watered down and the boba was hard. The Salty Lemonade was a super salty syrup-y mess; I was also put off by the fact that some type of a powder was being used - whether that's a lemonade-making powder or the heaping amount of salt, you can tell that there is no quality control in this joint. Both drinks were undrinkable after a sip, as both just tasted artificial. When I stated that the drinks were unable to be consumed, because they were disgusting, and inquired about them being replaced with something else or just receive a refund, both were denied. The employee stated that the business doesn't do either of that, and if I wanted to try something else, I would have to pay. Got it, Spill the Tea. You then "suck" up the Boba filled pearls as you drink the tea, adding to the dimension of the drink you're having - popping the fruit juiced filled pearl between your teeth. I have a pension for mango, so go with mango flavored tea with mango pearls. It's somewhat "one note" but you get the idea. And I like it. I've also had their iced Thai (sweet coconut milk) tea as well, and that is also very good. - and fairly authentic. In short, I've not had one bad thing from them. Neither has my spouse or daughter, so of course we return often. It is refreshing, and while there are limited dining options inside - it's likely to survive the pandemic situation, and continue to thrive. (Oh, and they wear facemasks, so no worries there!) Hint: Parking is available in the garage behind the driveway, right next to the store and a senior living high rise. Parking is free!
