With every visit, this place has slowly became my favorite spot for Boba. I'm not sure what is up with the name changes or if they changed ownership, but every drink I've tried so far have been perfect. Not too watery and amateur, not too thick and sweet... always just right! Their Grape is my favorite. I actually tried the Grape from the famous HeyTea and I liked Tian Cha's more. I came here today on a Saturday after dinner, and was wanting to try a new boba spot! After looking up reviews online, it brought me nearby to Tian Cha! I've tried a lot of boba places in Northern VA, and this place surprised me in a good way. It's very unassuming, in the corner of a plaza next to Gold's Gym. The signature seems like tiramisu cream and cheese foams, so I opted for the Ceylon Boba tea with tiramisu cream! I did 50% sweet with caramel boba added. The drink was really good, the tea flavor here tastes great and brewed fresh. The sweet tiramisu cream on top was plentiful, and it comes with a cute mini shovel! My bf got a mixed fruit tea with less sugar and he enjoyed it. Overall, a nice chill place with good boba! Service was nice and efficient and fast. There was no wait or line when we went. My nephews wanted some Boba to end our day out and I found this place who thankfully was open relatively late. Located in the Braddock Rd shopping center hidden in a corner we almost missed it. I had seen this place pop up whenever I searched for boba spots. I was intrigued by the little shovel and why drinks needed one. After reading the reviews about the tiramisu foam, I had to try it. My boyfriend and I ended up going and it was rather empty that day. The interior is very clean and has a clean aesthetic to it. The service was very quick and the drinks were made given pretty fast. The tiramisu foam is delicious! The royal ceylon tea is almost like a Hong Kong milk tea without the sugar. The foam sits right on top and you just scoop it out. The lids have a sliding window to avoid removing the lid. The mango creamio comes with a scoop of mango ice cream and provided a creamier taste to the mango slush. The times we've gone, it wasn't crowded and the drinks came out quickly. Our favorite unique drinks are the tiramisu foam drinks and the Cookie (Oreo) creamio. They have a unique design with being able to eat the toppings with this cute mini shovel from the top of the cup before/during drinking of the liquid! Conveniently located next to the Gold's gym, this place is always running a buy 4 get one free promotion. Sometimes they'll run a better one, like buy two get one free There's usually no line, and there's a chill vibe inside which makes it easy to hang out, without loud music blasting. Every cup is like boba with extra dessert on top, whether it's ice cream on top, or tiramisu cream. They give you a little plastic shovel to spoon out your dessert. I personally love the mango creamio, which is basically a mango milkshake with grapefruit on the bottom and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. This is the BEST option, I love how the grapefruit slightly freezes and how the texture changes. The acidity cuts the sweetness really well. I had to stop by today to take advantage of their July 4th "buy 2 get 1 free" special. My group and I ordered different items so we can try different menu items. (It wasn't my first time coming here, but I always get the same thing: mango creamio). I still think the mango creamio (with regular sugar level) is by far Tian Cha's best menu item. Their creamio products are a bit pricier since they come with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top (with a cute little shovel to help you scoop it up). The mango in particular is the perfect blend of flavor (sweet mango) and toppings (tart grapefruit bits). My order was the bubble milk tea creamio. It was fine. There's something about the tea/slushie that I didn't like as much as its mango counterpart. The boba had a nice chewy texture. I also had a taste of my friend's brulee green milk tea, but I also didn't fully enjoy it as much as the mango creamio. Service was quick. In all the times I've been there, it has never been suffocatingly crowded. Prices are on the higher side in general, but sadly there aren't many places that charge less than $5 for boba tea nowadays. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. From start to finish I would never spend another cent in there. No one greeted us when we came in like all the other customers when they entered. The bathroom was the most disgusting bathroom I've ever been to especially for a place that is serves drink items. I didn't like my drink, I ordered a messy taro because I always order taro bubble tea and at this place it tasted like nothing but milk, so I asked to order something else and was told there was no refunds or exchange. The boba was a nice texture and flavor, but even at 25%, the drinks were way too sweet. We had to dilute the kumquat tea at home with water by more than double the volume. The tiramisu foam was super sweet as well, though the Ceylon tea had a good flavor and was about the right sweetness. The service was quick, and the ambiance of the store was charming/bright. I was excited to see a tea shop, originating from Rowland Heights, making its debut in NoVA. The menu offers milk and fruit tea, including puff cream, brulee, and matcha drinks. I had the Super Fruit Tea and the Strawberry Green Tea to-go - while they both looked refreshing, they were both super watered down and had a lack of either the tea or the fruit flavors. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that there were stickers still on the fruit... meaning, either the fruit were not properly washed or the one who was prepping did not care that the stickers were still on them and just decided to slice them anyways... And, these were found in both of the drinks, not just one, because, you know, probably from the same batch of fruit.. Of course, this made me extremely queasy and both were tossed - the lack of quality control was super disappointing. Staff were friendly, and I was hoping that this place could have been a go-to place after having a meal in the area. Definitely the best boba in Annandale but comes with a price, literally. I got the "Royal Ceylon Milk Tea with Tiramisu Puff Cream" with caramel boba (+$0.75) and the drink came out to be $7.11 after tax. There's only one size (20 oz? 24 oz?) so it's an obnoxiously-sized drink that might be a bit too much after dinner. This drink costs around the same as a chicken burrito bowl at Chipotle which is ridiculous. However, it was very tasty, despite being a bit watery. The tea flavor was strong and there was a good ratio of tea and milk (a lot more tea than milk). The boba was sweetened and had a good chew that I enjoyed. The winner here was definitely the tiramisu puff cream. The tiramisu flavor was strong and went extremely well with the milk tea. It's creamy and light and honestly just very tasty! I got the drink with 0% sugar since I knew the boba and tiramisu puff cream would sweeten the drink. Even then, I thought the drink was a bit too sweet for me. Note, I don't have a big sweet tooth, though. Overall, come here only if you want to treat yourself to an expensive BUT TASTY boba. I wish I understood more the meaning behind the shovel and if there are other drinks there that would make more sense for having the shovel. Another new boba shop in NOVA! It's hard to keep up with all the new places popping up. This place is a little pricier than others in the area, but you're also getting a larger quantity. There are no customizable sizes (regular vs large). Each drink with a topping ($0.75 each) costs around $6.50. The first thing I noticed upon receiving my drinks was that the cups felt like high quality plastic. I think you could reuse them if you wanted! I ordered the Uji Matcha with Tiramisu & Brulee foam and the Brulee Milk Tea. I thought the "brulee" meant that there would be a layer of caramelized sugar at the top, but it just means custard is added into the drink. Both drinks were tasty! They give you a cute little shovel-shaped spoon for the foam. However, the tiramisu & brulee foam was a little heavy and it felt like eating a dessert with your drink. For that drink, I wish the matcha flavor stood out more. Good first impressions. The drinks here are definitely more on the indulgent/dessert side.
