Got a large taro smoothie, no added sugar, double boba. Came pretty much as I expected but with one catch: the lid is a domed lid rather than a typical sealed lid, which means I couldn't shake it to mix the boba around the smoothie. From seeing what another patron got who entered later on, it looks like domed lids are reserved for smoothies whereas teas are sealed, so if you want it sealed, it may be worth asking. Staff was courteous and kept wearing masks even though I was the only customer in the store for 30 minutes or so (plenty of places slack even when they have to keep masked, so this made me happy). Staff didn't enforce their own face mask requirement for another patron who had no mask at all, though, which was kinda annoying. Can't complain much about the domed lid, which was just an inconvenience largely. Like 4.5 stars basically, minus 0.5 for not enforcing masking as stated on their own door (but hey they keep masked themselves, which is better than most). 4 stars overall. read more

Really good! Boba places in general are really all stepping up their games. This is definitely a twist from your typical milk tea with boba. We got the strawberry smoothie with white peals added and the texture was unique. It tasted almost like aloe in my opinion. The blend of the creme brulee sweetness with the smoothie at 50% sugar was the perfect amount - anything else would've been overkill. The mango smoothie w pearls was nothing special. Probably not something I'd get again. I am interested in trying the taro drink with the taro paste. Moge's is my go to for that drink so I'm curious how this one will compare! My one complaint - the containers are soooo flimsy so while I carried this upstairs, the drink was being squeezed out the top (and I'm not that strong of a girl)... so that was a bit annoying. Best bubble tea around, hands down. Paired with Poki DC it's your all-inclusive stop for lunch or a convenient place to drop in for a 3pm energy boost. Some tips: 1) Drive down the main drag of the Boro, past Gong Cha towards the theater then take a right. Park in the garage on your right. Emerge 2 doors down from Gong Cha and get your ticket validated. 2) Order using your gong cha app to earn points from the garage and It'll be just about ready by the time you get there. 3) If you haven't tried the brown sugar variations, I can't recommend them enough--though I have found that a little less sugar is the way to go for me. Stir/mix well so you're not assaulted by the sweetness at the end of your drink. I like that the boba are consistently soft and the ice isn't crushed so I don't need to battle ice vs boba in my straw. What can I say? This is my go to. I've got TWO boba places within 5 minutes of my house but I'll drive 15 minutes to go here instead every time. read more

My brother and I usually get the Oolong Milk Tea but I've been exploring their yogurt drinks and fruit tea drinks! I have had a couple of drinks from this location. The service is friendly. I absolutely love their strawberry earl grey milk tea. It is fantastic. I tried the creme brulee strawberry latte. It was ok. And then there is the black tea with milk foam. It is terrible because the tea is massively overbrewed (likely boiled too hard, too long at too high of a temp). The tannins are overwhelmingly bitter and astringent. I threw it away after 3 sips because it was burning my mouth. I called to let them know because I thought it was just a bad batch. So tonight I got a free replacement and upped the sugar to regular (I usually go for 50%). Same problem. I handed it back after one sip. I've been drinking black tea for most of my life, and I drink red wine, so I don't shy away from tannins, but there definitely is such as thing as too much. I tried the poke once. It was pretty good. I definitely will go back, but will never get black tea again. read more

I usually order using the Gong Cha app. My last visit, I ended up waiting 15 min past my order completion time. It looked like they forgot to make the second drink of my order. Even when I reminded them that I was waiting for my order, they ended up completing in person orders, that arrived after I came, in before my order. Today I ended up waiting because they said they never got my order even though the app said it was received.
