$9 for a small boba is wild! But I get the dc pricing and the shop being on the wharf. It is a ufo themed boba spot and the matcha was ok. It was definitely a different flavor that wasn't too authentic. I was let down, but enjoyed a cute theme.

It's not often that I leave a place unsure about my thoughts. After a nearby soccer game, my family and friend popped into this little shop at The Wharf. The lights were dimmed, and no one was inside so we were surprised to learn it was open. Once inside, we saw the character E.T. depicted throughout as well quirky things like a large Bluey doll and a metal cat sculpture. We ordered our bubble tea from tablets and they were ready within 5-7 minutes. Our friend enjoyed his Thai bubble tea. Our daughter found the strawberry one just okay. My wife and I got the normal bubble tea and it was very unique. The boba was very warm and the consistency of the tea was a little more thick than what we're used to. It also tasted a little like praline. If you go, I'm curious to know your thoughts. For me, the verdict is still out.

For me to stop MID-BITE to post a review is saying BIG THINGS! 1. Omgggggg! 2. Everyone needs to experience this and 3. OMG Let's START with what stopped me in my tracks! The Mousse 3 Chocolate Cake - TO LIVE FOR!!! I dropped a pic that has the exact description but all I can say to describe is, "DIVINELY DECADENT"!!! Their other item that has me in a chokehold is the Brown Sugar Milk tea!!! Deeeeelish and the tapioca pearls are the perfect level of sweetness! It was a BOGO day so who's a happy lady?! Meeeeee!

Another impromptu stop while leaving The wharf. We wanted coffee but for some reason decided to stop here instead of backtracking to the coffee shop.... Ironically, this is mostly a tea place and we wanted a hot coffee drink! But I should have known better than to order a hot drink with oat milk from a tea place. Everyone place their own orders using the self-service kiosk. They had some very cool and pretty looking drinks and desserts. Ultimately, I decided to order a coffee drink......I chose the hot tiramisu oat latte. What was I thinking!??? I watched the employee make the beverage.. he used powdered oat (milk??), a few drips of watered down coffee and a few other drips and drops of other things. And voila! An awful hot powdery beverage!! Customer service was pretty much non-existent. As soon as we walked in, there was no greeting of any sort. No one took orders at the counter...it was strictly orders place at the kiosk. Even when handing the orders, there was no "enjoy your beverage!" I loved the E.T. theme, wall art and cup decoration. Would I return? No most likely not.

Was exploring the wharf for the first time with my daughters and their cousins (11, 9, 9 and 5) and happened upon E-Tea. They had a great selection of drinks both with and without tea (for the kids). The shop is small with just a few tables and seats outside. They have an alien theme throughout the store (get it E-Tea). All ordering is done via the kiosk. Though they were busy, the drinks came fast. I got the basic back tea with boba and it was very good with great tea flavor (I get 50% sugar now....doctors orders). My daughters got the Aurora Lemonade and the Strawberry Slush which they really liked. Overall the experience was really good and the drinks were great. Would definitely recommend.

Cute bubble tea place that has a ton of food options as well. Order at a kiosk and then pick up at the counter. Their bubble tea is good/average but I was impressed with all the food they have. A friend got dumplings and liked them and I got tiramisu which was good. Cute ET theme throughout decor and with the cup sizing names. Good post concert snack.

Not gonna lie. I came here because I loved the name but I did enjoy the matcha drink I ordered. Definitely a must visit

This alien-themed boba shop at the Wharf is such a fun concept. It is a takeout type of shop as there are no tables inside and only two small tables outside. They have a large but ordinary selection of drinks. I opted for the brown sugar milk tea with 25% sugar, and it was a perfect moderate amount of sweetness. My Jupiter-sized (large) drink with tapioca was $7.89. It costs extra to substitute a non-dairy milk. I enjoyed the drink, but the tapioca was flavourless. I know tapioca naturally doesn't have much of a taste, but this one was so flavourless that it didn't even taste like tapioca. There was so much of it in my drink, and I still enjoyed chewing them, but they didn't taste like anything.

Fun bubble teas, desserts (towel cake), bowls and onigiri at The Wharf. There is an ET mural in the shop, as well as cherry blossoms to celebrate the flowers in season (The Wharf has a whole bloom theme going on). I ordered a mango pomelo drink (mango slush, mango, coconut mlk, grapefruit grain, crystal bubble) which is a seasonal special. My friend tried the sakura matcha (matcha with strawberry cream), also a seasonal special. My drink was almost ready but then they suddenly remade my drink ( not sure why). It was redone and it tasted good, although there were several chunks of ice. The boba was wonderful, very soft yet chewy. There was a decent amount of mango. Several desserts were sold out (towel cake) so it would be fun to come back to sample them. This is a fun and vibrant shop, order at the kiosks, then sit outside to watch the action.

We ventured here after dinner at ilil. Nice night cap to a celebratory night. Service was quick. She input our order into the kiosk and our drink was ready in a few minutes. The location is quiet in the winter but I'm sure they have a lot of business in the summer. It's such a nice spot by the water.

Easy ordering on kiosks and they call your number when called. There are lots of drink options and you can customize ratios on most of the ingredients. I got the brown sugar milk tea, 75% sweet, 50% ice, add boba. I was worried about there being too much ice in my drink which is why I opted for the 50% ice, in the future I would stick with the recommended amount because the hot boba melts the ice quickly! They have seating outside, or you can take your drink and walk around the wharf!

Randomly hit up this spot while walking in DC - it did not disappoint!! Some of my favorite things: - They didn't overdo it with the ice. Thank goodness because I like to have as much tea as possible - I always like the option to make it full/half/no sweetness - The boba was amazing!!! Definitely made fresh, and was sweet I ordered through a screen so not too much to say about service, but my drink was ready pretty fast! I do think it's a bit pricy, but you're also in DC.

The tea is decent. It is quite pricey for a cup of boba tea. This shop has nothing special compared to others boba shop in DC. The service is just ok

We ordered and everyone enjoyed their food. It wasn't the best but it was good! I have to add this is in Chinatown so if you order Chinese is authentic. The downfall here is the seating situation is limited, and the bathrooms are nasty. Overall the service at the counter was good. NOW I'm sorry there are no pics! However do not, I repeat DO NOT leave here without getting a doughnut in a container. There are in the pastry section right by the register. You won't regret it!!! You're welcome.

The food was quick to get and decent quality, although a little overpriced considering how low key the place is. I visited on a Thursday around 6 PM. The place has a bar and bakery near the front, which I didn't check out. In the back are ~5 food stalls and each has signs for different vendors, but in reality it didn't seem like all the vendors were still operating. It was hard to tell because all the stalls share the same menu and you order from the same place (two tablets near the front). Tonkotsu Ramen (~$16) and Scallion Pancakes with Beef (~$11). They were prepared quickly. I expected the pancakes to be twice as large for the price. They tasted fine, I liked them. The ramen was served with broth on the side and came with pork, eggs, corn, bean sprouts, and a few other bits. It was pretty good but nothing special.

At first I thought someone had farted, but the smell never went away. It was constant the entire time, which made the place unbearable to sit in. This Gong Cha is combined with a Chinese food/snack spot, and ordering is done through a kiosk. My husband ordered a green tea milk foam and I got the Earl Grey milk foam--both were nasty. The tea tasted like it had been sitting overnight and watered down multiple times. It was completely flavorless, and the milk foam was super runny and didn't taste anything like the Gong Cha milk foam I've had at other locations. On top of that, we waited 30-40 minutes just to get our drinks. For something this bad, that wait time is ridiculous. Overall, a terrible experience. I really hope Gong Cha takes the franchise away from this location because it makes the Gong Cha name look bad.
