Along Wisconsin Avenue surrounded by a BBQ shop (Rocklands), historic stores (Pearson's Wine and Spirits) and Uyghur food (Eerkins) is a small tea shop selling a diverse menu of...well...tea. They have milk tea, fruit tea and even cheese foam tea. (What the what?) If you love tea, it's worth a visit, especially on a hot day. If you have kids, start across the street at Guy Mason Recreation Center's epic playground and come in for a cold drink. On a Friday afternoon, I stopped in for a large milk black tea with boba. It came in a quality plastic long cup with more clear boba. It was over $7, but was tasty and refreshing! There are a few tables up front and a booth and beautifully lit table in the back near the single bathroom.
I'm personally a huge fan of Moge Tee, and this location is no different. I've come here a few times now and they don't disappoint. I've always felt they have drinks that actually taste like real tea, which is what I'm looking for in a boba shop. Extensive menus, regular pricing, and quick service. There is some seating in the back but not loads of space to chill. As per usual, big fan
Moge Tee is a very convenient bubble tea spot with a location in Glover Park. I've been here several times this week and there are lots of refreshing flavors! Due to the pandemic most of the inside is closed off except a little corner to order. You can walk in, place an order, and wait outside with the pager you're given that buzzes once your order is ready. I've tried the Brown Sugar bubble tea which was a nice mix of cold tea with hot brown sugar, the Rose bubble tea, and the Crémé Brûlée bubble milk tea which was so nice and smooth to the taste! None of the teas I listed earlier were overwhelmingly sweet and I really appreciated that. However the Brown sugar was a lot sweeter than the others with the brown sugar bubbles. I've also tried the Taro bubble milk tea but unfortunately I didn't quite like that, mainly because the milk powder didn't mix well with the tea. All of the orders come in a nice steady recyclable cup, which is a huge plus for being green. Happy to have found this spot and might even become a regular ;)
Covid 19 Review: I have to say, I was pretty darn impressed with the bubble tea here. Not only that... they come in these great plastic cups that are reuseable, at least in my opinion. Coming from someone who appreciates a very large cup- of which the large bubble tea definitely is, I really love that cup. Yeah I kept it! Sue me! You can order online and it will be ready on pickup, or you can go inside the store which is blocked off all but the small front area at the entry. They have hand sanitizer on the table, and menus so that you can place your order there and they'll bring it to the front. I liked the bubble tea so much that I went there twice in a matter of two days. I was driving by that area a lot, and just couldn't resist. The first time I went I got my reg. black milk bubble tea with 75 percent sweetness. That was delish! The second time I came back, I opted for the brown sugar milk tea (which they were actually out of the first time), but had the following day when I was back. It was SOOOooOO good. I've had it twice, once at Tbaar. I think Tbaar's is a hair better... but just a hair. Now, I'll be honest. The prices are a bit higher than what I'm used to paying, but like I said, those cups are BIG. And the bubble tea is quality. And... listen... if I want to treat myself to bubble tea right now... I'm gonna treat myself to bubble tea right now. Cause it's right now. And right now... well it needs a little padding. Will be back, looking forward to visiting the Montgomery Mall location when the mall opens back up.
Yes, I'm gonna say this is the best boba place in DC (but let's be honest, there isn't much competition -- this is also because I'm from NY and I've also had my fair share of boba from cali). Regardless, I'm glad I found Moge here because I've been getting very disappointed with the boba quality in DC until I found Moge! Their tapiocas are delicious! Chewy and tastes great! The way tapiocas should be.
TLDR: Solid boba tea spot capitalizing on the latest trends in boba. ----- Highlights: Taste: I had their Oreo milk tea as they were out of the fresh taro unfortunately. There were no options to alter sugar levels, but I found that the drink was surprisingly well balanced. Despite being Oreo and having a decent amount of whipped cream on top, the drink didn't taste too sugary. There were actual chunks of Oreo on the whipped cream and also within the milk tea, adding a nice layer of texture to each sip. Price: slightly on the more expensive side. At ~$5- $8 depending on drink, almost all options run on the expensive side compared to other places. However you get really good quality for the price, so I understand the price. Parking: Paid street parking along Wisconsin subject to availability/time of day.
Watch out Gong Cha and ShareTea, another Boba Tea made it to town! Möge's specialty? That cheese foam. Mmm mmm mmmph!!! I love it. For first timers, get ready for an experience that may possibly confuse your tastebuds. For foam tea connoisseurs, speak your mind and say what you think. For me, I'm just happy to have another place in DC with a foam tea option where I don't have to go to MD or VA. As a non-boba tea lover but a boba-tea accompanier, my go-to drink has evolved from Taro boba or bubble tea to some sort of green tea foam drink and Möge's Cheese Foam Mountain Green Tea does not disappoint. I ordered it with 50% less sugar and I loved it. I also loved the swivel top lids. Gone are my days of poking a hole through the sealed lids just so that I can sip. A friend of mine got the taro bubble tea and whilst I judged him at first, it would be very remiss of me to not to say that it's way better than your basic taro boba. Remember Quickly Tea which made theirs with powder? Well nope it ain't like that here. I'm pretty sure there was real taro root in there. Hopefully I'm not wrong. Now if I have to pick my favorite foam tea that I've had in the city... it's a close call. I'd have to say Momo's Cafe for the occasional special treat. Then probably here for the casual hang out. As if the lids didn't already make a difference, the flavors are bomb.
I heard about Moge Tee from a friend in New York and found out they have locations in the DMV so I decided to try this place out while I was in town for a convention. If you're here, definitely try the cheese foam drinks. This trend has already taken off on the west coast and is making its way to the east. I went twice that weekend and got the Dragonfruit tea with cheese foam, which was very delicious and fresh tasting. The second time I got the Cheese foam Uji Matcha which was also a great choice. They're full of flavor but not overly sweet. Prices for these cheese foam drinks area a bit steep though but the quality shows. The saltiness of the cheese compliments the sweetness of the drinks very well. The atomsphere is very laid back with minimalist decor which is refreshing. I would definitely return to try their other drinks.
I always thought Glover Park and northern Wisconsin was crazy for not having a boba place with so many businesses here. Glad someone here decided to tap into that gold with Moge Tee. I definitely think this fits a niche for this area and is a strong contender against Kung Fu Tea, but doesn't necessarily replace it. The decor looks super chic which I love. There's a round table by the window, and in the back is a table for 4 and a couple tables for 2. This would be a phenomenal place to get some work done if you can lock down a table. The menu is on the creative side - they push the cheese foam drinks which I love. Price point is higher, but so far I think it's justified by higher quality teas. A lot of the staple teas and milk teas you can find high 4s/low 5s, but the wallet killer are the fruit teas - cheese foam dragon fruit is a whopping $8.75, so I hope it's amazing! I opted for the earl gray cheese foam at 50%, which I found had a great feel that wasn't overbrewed, and lower sweetness helped contrast with the foam. Other options on the menu include sushi, and some desserts in the form of dorayaki and soufflé. While I wouldn't see myself coming everyday, out of sheer convenience of proximity and just good teas I'll be coming back.
Left to right Cheese Milk Black tea-- 8/10 the cheese topping is delicious and it really complements the black tea well Crème Cream Brulee Milk Tea --8.5/10 perfect amount of sweetness with the tapioca Mango pomelo--4/10, I'd say this one was definitely sub par, there was a slight alcoholic taste to the jellies because they were so bitter? I think the seeds of the pomelo accidentally got blended in and it made it extremely bitter. I also found a huge chunk at the bottom that I think was the flesh of the fruit that isn't meant to be consumes. It was really weird, but the cheese foam and slush were really great! 7/10 overall, really nice spot to hang out with friends and have a drink.
Really really good boba here. I enjoy how fresh all their teas taste and how it is evident they make an effort to have a more innovative menu different from any ordinary boba shop. I got the matcha mochi tea which after tax was almost $9. While pricey, it was well spent of course as it has a default large size and already comes with red beans. It was really enjoyable, especially as I got to the end & could taste the matcha really prominently. It had a slight salty taste to it which definitely elevated it quite a bit. My friend got the mochi taro tea and I actually really enjoyed trying hers because it had taro purée inside, not powder like most shops use. That was pretty cool, I personally really enjoy tasting fresher things in my boba, the more natural sweetness really shone through. However that of course is not for everyone, as it did add texture that some might not find super enjoyable. The pearls themselves were cooked pretty well and weren't too hard or too soft. I definitely recommend going here if you're able to spend a bit of money. They also have parfaits which look really good as well. Wait might be a while if it's busy, I've noticed there aren't usually many people working the two times I've come so just expect that.
I have been craving for what I refer to as "flavored fancy tea". With limited options during Covid-19, I am ecstatic that Moge Tea is still available for delivery. At about $7 a pop, it is a bit pricey compared to the ones I typically get at Eden Center, but the quality of the products are worth it. I ordered Watermelon Tea and Green Tea with Mango, both with jelly added. Both drinks were on point. Not too sweet and I can taste the fresh fruit juice. I was not able to finish both drinks right away and when I had it the next day, the drinks were still as yummy as when I ordered it. I love the packaging. Thank you Moge Tea!

I love the Moge Tee in Tysons so I decided to pop by this location while in the area. I think this is an OK spot. I noticed that the pick up spot was all the way in the back and the only indicator was a handwritten note on the wall. They made our drinks and left them back there not telling us they were ready nor did they tell us where pick up was (I thought it was only for UberEats/DoorDash). If only the handwritten sign was more clear. I decided to order the new tea, Royal concubine with boba, and it wasn't great. It tasted weird and I've had tea mixes but that mix was not good. The boba was also mushy. Maybe they were having a bad day? read more

Stopped here because I happened to be in the area and can never resist the call of boba. The interior is sparse as they clearly do more of a takeout/to go/delivery business. The menu has lots of different options. I went for a basic milk tea with boba and it was very tasty. The staff was not super friendly but they made my drink very quickly and efficiently. read more

Absolutely one of my favorite places to grab bubble tea. There selection is quite vast but I've only had the chance to try their fresh strawberry and watermelon tea with regular boba. With warmer weather coming up, the fresh teas are excellent choices to cool down. They aren't too sweet and have a smoothie like consistency. The cups are also one of my favorite type with many different colored straw options. But note, there is only one cup size while ordering. I'm excited to try more types and the summer comes along! read more
As far as boba teas go, Mogee Tee is a decent stand-by option but definitely not the best available. The brown sugar boba (aka Okinawa teas elsewhere) had only hints of the rich brown sugar flavor I was expecting. Regular milk tea with bubbles was weak in tea flavor. About $12 for one medium and one large (see pic) so pretty par for the course pricing. read more

Worst milk tea place ever. Stay away! Stay away! Don't come to this store! we ordered 3 black sesame mochi milk tea, we joked about the staff might not know how to make a milk tea because he had to call someone to figure out what material to be added. It turned out he really doesn't know, and when we immediately went back to the store and told the staff it wasn't mochi but some kind of jelly, the staff had the nerve to lie to our faces to say it's a special powder like we don't know what a mochi is. read more

Moge Tee is my favorite bubble tea franchise in the area. My go-to is the iced fresh red dragonfruit green tea, sometimes with the cheese foam, sometimes without, depending on my mood. Whoever coined the term "cheese foam" should have been stopped. The closest way to describe the topping would be a whipped cream cheese topping, but more airy. Its texture is similar to Starbucks' cloud foam. I always mean to try other menu items, but I simply enjoy the dragonfruit one so much that I end up picking that every time. I like that fresh dragonfruit is used in the drink, which justifies the higher pricing for me. I hope they offer the souffle at some point, it seems every time I'm in there, they do not have it. read more
The four stars are for the cheese foam drinks. Get the cheese foam drinks - that's what Moge Tee is best at. I got the fresh strawberry tea with cheese foam, and it was delicious. However, my fiancé ordered one of the classic fruit teas but with boba instead. The boba is definitely not as good as some other bubble tea joints in the area. Cheese foam drinks sound nasty AF, but I find them to be tasty. This drink is widely popular in Asia, and it's typically a green or black tea that's topped with a foamy layer of cream cheese and milk and sprinkled with salt. The taste is overall sweet but finishes savory. Moge Tee has expanded quickly into this area, with locations in D.C. as well as Falls Church. I'm sure we'll expect to see one or two pop up in Maryland as well. Their menu is fairly expansive, particularly in the classic fruit tea category. Everything from strawberry tea, pineapple tea, watermelon tea, to avocado and dragon fruit. I believe they're also quite known for their crème brûlée milk tea too. Try a cheese foam drink today! read more

I didn't try any of the tea drinks because it was late and I didn't want to consume caffeine that late (tea has caffeine). So I got the mango ($6.50) and taro ($6.50). I'm really disappointed in bubble tea drinks when I can make them better in my own kitchen (which I do). I mean, did it taste more "fresh" with higher quality ingredients as promised? Sure. But do I really need that? Nah. You can also see how little boba they put in the drinks. I also got a taro minced pork sandwich ($6). This wasn't what I was expecting. There weren't any pictures of it on yelp yet. Similarly, I have the ingredients myself to make a better taro pork sandwich and it wouldn't be near $6. The bread quality itself was dry/old, at least spring for the Asian-market type breads? Everything tasted basic. If I'm going to spend $7 on a bubble tea, I might as well get the extra fixin with kung fu or even gongcha. They get an extra star for speed and service. But for taste and price, I won't be back. read more

I usually get the ice coffee with boba and it's really delicious. I would've given it 5 starts if it wasn't for the poor service. Despite how expensive it is, I'm here almost every week, and the cashier/barista has always been standoffish. I forgot to ask for boba one of these times, and I asked if she can put some back as I usually get mine with boba, and she said "I don't know you, I'm usually in the kitchen." She's literally the only person I've ever seen here. Now this is not an issue, it's just the terrible attitude every time here, as if I am not spending my money. Will be going to another location from now on. read more
I have been wanting to try this place for so long! The DC location is far so I am thrilled to see a second location open near where I live. I ordered 1. Brown sugar bubble milk shake: remember to mix and drink soon as the sugar can get sticky at the bottom 2. Fresh avocado milk tea: very refreshing and you can taste the freshness of avocado 3. Dahongpao tea with cheese foam: I am not a big fan of cheese foam The staff was very nice here. I will definitely come back to try more. Dragon fruit and grape milk tea and purple yam milk shake is on my list! read more
I saw there was another boba place in town that wasn't Kung Fu Tea so I was excited to try it. I love how many options they have and that they have some very Asian teas such as rose, osmanthus etc. Those choices are very hard to come back in in DC. The other unique quality of this place is that they have "cheese foam." Do not be afraid because it has the word cheese. It's essentially like any other whipped foam you get at like Starbucks except it's thicker with a slight sea salt aftertaste like when you sea salt a chocolate cookie to contrast and highlight it's sweetness. I got the cheese foam rose milk tea. I thought the drink was okay. The cheese foam was pretty good. Just remember to mix it in. I didn't think there was enough rose flavoring so it tasted like a normal milk tea. I enjoyed it still. I got boba with it. I believe that needs work. The boba was hard. Interior was pretty nice, there's more sitting in the back. Maybe like 15-20 seats divided over 4-5 tables. tl;dr: Nice place. Very floral choices that I appreciate. I thought my drink was okay. But I want to go back and try the other ones. read more
Love this spot for some quality tea. Stopped by here on several occasions for the matcha foam and some strong coffee. Their flavors are so unique and in high demand that they sell out. This location recently opened and you can't find quality tea within miles. They get really packed, but don't expect a long wait here. They have great aesthetics inside and you'll find yourself taking pictures while indulging in your favorite beverage. There is street pay for parking in the front and neighborhood parking in the back read more
This is one of my favorite boba places! If you haven't tried the cheese tea, you're missing out! The cheese has a bit of a salty taste with creamy cream cheese. It's almost like a liquid cheesecake! My personal favorite is the strawberry cheese tea with regular bubbles. They ran out of regular bubbles, so they gave me white bubbles without even asking. They said that the white/crystal boba tastes the same as regular boba, which isn't true. They both have completely different textures, and I personally think the regular is a bit sweeter. I would have preferred them to ask if I wanted a different topping rather than assuming I wanted the white boba. Other than that, it was great as always! The place itself has cute chairs and tables with beautiful decor that's definitely picture worthy. read more
Although doubtful of cheese foam at first, Moge Tea can do no wrong- I've enjoyed every tea I've had from here, whether in-store or through Uber eats. The tea is high quality and enjoyable on its own, but something about getting cheese foam on top is just so fun, pretty, and a nice way to finish the drink. Most recently I've had the peach oolong tea, and it was peachy without tasting artificial, and didn't lose the essence of oolong tea. The cheese foam is so creamy and light- nearly fluffy at the same time, and mixing it with your last bit of tea at the end of the drink is fun and delightful. It's a bit out of the way so I don't get to have it that much, but will stop by if I am. read more
My boyfriend and I went here for the 1st time the other day because it was highly rated on Yelp. We ordered oreo milk tea and taro milk tea with bubbles. I normally don't like how some bubble tea places make their drinks too sweet, however the drinks here had absolutely zero flavor! Like literally zero sugar in them. On the menu it claims to allow you to specify your sugar level but since it was our first time we didn't specify assuming they would just make the drinks at the regular 100% level. Well, I don't think they could contain less sugar than what we got. Mine supposedly came with bubbles but there were maybe only 10 in there and they were not good. Bad consistency, looked very overinflated and again zero flavor. The taro drink felt like drinking a full cup of plain mashed potatoes because there was so much puréed taro but hardly any milk tea. You had to really stir it yourself to blend it. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the cups are awesome and they used fresh taro not powder. But I will not be back because the drinks had no taste and they were over $7 a piece. read more

I thought the drinks were sub par today. The boba was chewy, but not vey yummy. I got the Mango Tea and I thought it was going to be more slushy but instead it was just very chunky. I got a mango slush in the past that was delicious, but this chunky mango tea was just not it. My boyfriend got the fresh fruit tea with green tea and it was just overwhelmingly citrusy. Definitely needs more sweet fruit and less lime/lemon falvors. Would not recommend these drinks. read more

A fantastic boba shop with a lovely aesthetic and absolutely gorgeous teas. Their teas are pretty expensive in comparison to other shops, but they're definitely worth the occasional indulgence. I also love that Moge Tee actually uses fresh fruits in their teas, rather than the syrups that most other boba shops use. They're also one of the only spots in this area that offers cheese foam, so if you've never tried that before, I'd definitely recommend coming here to try it out! read more

Are there any bubble tea flavors that are vegan?
The cheese foam teas without the foam are just classic teas. Similarly, their classic fruit teas without the foam are just blended teas and fruits. Don't think there's a non-dairy equivalent for their milk/foams yet.
Does Moge Tee use lactose-free milk in the drinks themselves? Or is it real milk? (I realize the cheese foam contains lactose.)
The fruit teas don't contain milk. The milk teas however are only real dairy milk at this time, and I don't believe it is lactose-free. I asked if they will get non-dairy milk alternatives in the future, and they said they are looking into it.
