Me and my bestie went here last week on Wednesday and this was such a nice find. I don't know where we were gonna go before for a sweet treat, but this was such a treasure! When I asked to sample that tiramisu, I was in heaven! The person serving us was so nice and enthusiastic with her new position, she made our day so positive! Then when we saw what she was creating, wow!! Patience and very creative. The ambiance downstairs and upstairs is very welcoming, I could see games upstairs and if you wanted to do work you could! I will def be coming again in the summer cuz this place was amazing!

Came during their opening deal where they were offering free gelato flowers and it was so great. The flavors are diverse and there is a good variety for non-dairy options, very inclusive customer profile in mind. The seating is pretty vast, there are about two stories to this location and its spacious for an ice cream shop! The gelato we had was creamy and flavorful. Particular recommendation would be their mango flavor, it was sweet enough with some tartness and a bright juicy mango flavor that had a velvety texture. Great non-dairy option to start off with if you're not sure!

I saw a post on Instagram promoting free gelato at Amori Georgetown, so of course I had to check it out. I mean, who doesn't want free gelato? It was a really hot day, and the place was packed when we arrived, which felt a bit overwhelming. It wasn't clear where to go since some people were ordering at the kiosks while others were lined up at the counter. I wanted to ask about the promotion, but none of the staff seemed available or willing to help. Eventually, one employee noticed the confusion and told us to place our order at the kiosk. After ordering, I asked about the free gelato and found out you needed to post a photo of the shop on social media before ordering to get the deal. Unfortunately, I had already paid by then, so I ended up with two frozen treats instead of one. As for the flavors, we only tried the fruit ones: passion fruit, lemon, and lime-basil. I believe those might have been more like sorbet than gelato. The flavors were bold, sweet, and tangy. Personally, they were a bit too sweet for me, but if you enjoy bright, fruity flavors, you'll probably like them. There's a small seating area inside, but it was completely full, so we walked around M Street instead. Overall, the experience could have been better with more organization and clearer signage about the promotion. I did really appreciate that they offered a gluten free cone. It came wrapped in plastic to avoid cross-contamination and actually tasted pretty good. I'd probably come back to try some of their actual gelato flavors next time.

A new gelato shop has opened in Georgetown! I got free gelato during their opening month promotion (from the store signs that included instructions and their social media), so I got the pistachio and yogurt. I'm not a big sweets person so the flavors were not too sweet (just like how I like it). I enjoyed the pistachio the best.

The emmental egg galette was fantastic. It does seem they've pivoted their menu more towards small plates - so the galette options are more limited than advertised online - and they don't serve coffee at brunch times. They've partially offset the fratty sterile vibes of the Navy Yard area, but there's only so much that a poster of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg can accomplish.

One day after a long/hot cycling session I decided to finally drop in and I'm so glad I did! The food was sooooo good! I came in ready to order the Le Mile End, but the server told me they didn't have all the ingredients (hence the 1/2 star deduction) but they recommended the clementine crepe and it was FIRE! I'm so glad they recommended this one because it would have gone under my radar. I got two additional dishes, but the names escape me and unfortunately I don't see them on the menu, but they were equally enjoyable. I love the interior, it's very clean/modern and it's right by the anacostia. I will be back soon when I'm in the mood for French bites.

The menu leans traditional, with a variety of options that highlight classic French flavors. That said, it's a bit on the pricier side for the overall experience. I'd recommend Fontaine more for a specific occasion, like taking visiting parents, or if you're dining with someone who needs gluten-free options, as they have good choices. Overall, a quaint and inviting spot that brings a touch of France to Old Town.

All of the hip young girls in high school recommended this place to me and my friends and lets just say, they have never been more wrong. My girls and I went this weekend for a birthday brunch. I wanted a crepe, but when I saw it was 17 DOLLARS to slap some Nutella and strawberries on a piece of crepe is outrageous. I ordered a "Continental Breakfast," which, with tax and tip, cost me $30 DOLLARS. I wish you could have seen the look on my face when they gave me a plate of rabbit food. All 6 of us looked at the plate and laughed. Seriously, my 5 year old neice can eat 3 times as much of that in one sitting. So, in what world would that be enough food for a grown woman? My friend then went on to order the French toast for a grand total of $36 DOLLARS. Mind you, there was only one piece of toast, and the Inside was raw and soggy. Tasted like eating wet, soaked toilet paper. On top of the overpriced food and small portions, our "server" came to our table for a total of ONE SINGULAR TIME. My friend had also ordered a Chai Latte. Surprise, Surprise! It never came, and they still charged her for it. I think the nice man who brought us our food could see the look on our faces when we received our food, because he then brought us a free side of French fries. It is a huge problem when the french fries were the only sufficient thing I put in my mouth at this restaurant. I please, genuinely beg all of you to NOT waste your money. I promise there is anywhere else where you can get a crepe for double the size and half the cost. Once we left, we went down to Call Your Mother, the Jewish Deli, to get more food, as all of us left with our tummies still rumbling. Mind you, a full bagel sandwich and coffee cost HALF THE PRICE of one meal at Fontaine. Horrible. Mind you, it is 2 days later, and I am still thinking about this. I fully created a Yelp account just so I could leave a review. I think I would have a better experience eating an IHOP Continental breakfast than whatever I put in my mouth at this restaurant. Not worth the hype at all. Save your hard-earned cash and be a big baller elsewhere!

My wife and I found this place and we're happy to report that we had a pretty good experience. First off, they served warm and fresh French bread. While I wish they served the bread with room temperature butter, the warm bread made the cold butter easier to manage. My wife started with the seafood crepe. It could have used more crabmeat, but it was still tasty and well-prepared. For her main, she had the bouillabaisse. Again, well-prepared with good flavor. The only oddity was that it came with a piece of bread with a spicy chipotle sauce on it. We didn't think it paired well with the bouillabaisse. I had the 3 course prix fixe special. I unfortunately cannot recall what I had for my appetizer. Despite not remembering what it was, there were no issues. For my main, I had the cassoulet which came with a duck leg confit. The only comment on this is that they did not incorporate the duck leg into the cassoulet - it as prepared separately and placed on top of the cassoulet. That said, both parts are were executed. The duck was tasty and flavorful with the meat easily separating and coming off the bone. The cassoulet itself was full of flavor coming from the thick piece of bacon. For dessert, I chose the banana and chocolate crepe which my wife and I shared. Service was attentive throughout our dinner. The place is decently sized, but not noisy. There is only street parking nearby.

So I was pumped when our crepe loving stars finally aligned and I had the opportunity to try the hype. I already had dinner and wasn't quite feeling the sweet options on their menu (yes we all know I'm picky!) They were more than willing to make me whatever I wanted so I gave them the ingredients to the best crepe I've ever had (up in NJ of all places) to see if they could recreate it. And they came pretty close...about 95% there but not quite 100. Sorry guys! Still, it was delicious and just as good cold the next day, which is my ultimate test since I can't ever finish anything in one sitting. Most importantly! It's not everyday you get to see the whole food truck ordeal as they park, prep, etc. I swear I'm not a creeper! My condo looks out over where they parked. They arrived well in advance with plenty of time to prep. Very professional from I could tell. Looking forward to trying something savory the next time around!
