Glad we stopped in here on our way to our dinner destination. A cute spot with a large selection of drinks and cakes, but also lots of chocolates! The layered coffee cake was pretty good, very similar to tiramisu. My ginger lemon tea was a bit bland, but it's my fault for getting one of the non chocolate drinks. I didn't want to ruin my appetite for dinner though haha. Will definitely bring my mom back here as a hot chocolate lover. Staff was friendly and quick.

Really enjoyed my stop here for a break from the summer heat. Nice cool inside and the back of the store has a nice seating area with a skylight and window into the back bakery. The coffee was made to order and the beans were sourced from Bolivia this month. Very cute and worth popping in for a hot chocolate or little chocolate mouse bon bon to go!

Good place to stop for dessert or a quick pick me up in Georgetown. Came here for dessert after dinner and got the chocolate mousse cake which looked to be one of their top picks dessert wise. It was pretty good but nothing special. I had a higher expectation bc I recall enjoying the hot chocolate in their Boston location many years ago. Service was good though and the decor had the typical ambiance of a high end chocolatier. Seating in the front and back of the shop so didn't have any trouble finding a spot. I think I'll stick to the hot chocolate next time but it's a nice place to stop by to take a quick break in Georgetown.

I was walking around the Georgetown area when I came across a sign for a match chocolate. Curious as to what that would taste like, I decided to step in and give it a shot. They had a matcha chocolate and a matcha chocolate with mango. I decided to just get the iced matcha with the white chocolate and it was amazing! One of the best drinks I've ever had. The white chocolate was perfectly creamy, while also tasting not too sweet. The matcha was thicker and very smooth. Even my husband who doesn't like matcha enjoyed the drink and ordered an iced milk chocolate drink that was also delicious. We would definitely come back in the future if we're in the area again.

Amazing and rich drinking chocolate. If you're looking for hot chocolate, this might be a little too thick and rich compared to hot chocolate. However, paired with some cake and tea, it cancels out and is great! We enjoyed our time at this beautiful cafe. They sell a lot of cute chocolates as well. The cashier was very helpful in explaining all the different types of chocolates from different origins.

Definitely not your mall shop, beautiful chocolates in a beautiful shop in the heart of Georgetown. I was craving a cookie so picked up two of the chocolate variety (well duh, I'm in a chocolate boutique). Both were delicious and very good. I'll need to return for that famous hit chocolate.

"You didn't get hot chocolate," said my friend who suggested we meet at this Georgetown cafe with chocolate in its name. Rookie mistake. Despite the blunder, my chai tea was excellent- smooth and creamy. To make up for the loss, I got a chocolate croissant. The chocolate is warm, dark, and very rich. The space itself has many places to sit, but no WiFi intentionally. If you go, unplug and connect with a book or friend.

very nice service and ambiance with sunlight from windows. hot chocolate goes great with the colder weather. they have a very good not that sweet vegan apple tart and you can get dark chocolate vegan hot chocolate w plant milk. very glad to have a pastry and hot chocolate vegan option in georgetown, i would definitely 5 star if they had just a few more options than one standard thing for vegans to order!

Love the at atmosphere at LA Burdick. The place is has indoor seating and outdoors. It's never crowded but parking can be tricky. The pastries and drinks range from $7-$9 depending on what you get. Overall I love going to LA Burdick and definitely recommend after a heavy lunch. But beware from the cakes because they are VERY HEAVY.

L.A. Burdick is a chic, cozy dessert shop and cafe. Once you enter, you're immediately surrounded by cases and shelves of beautiful handmade chocolates. The hanging lights from the ceiling and the aroma of the shop are warming and bring a comforting sit-down vibe. I had one of their infamous hot chocolates paired with a couple of desserts. The pastries were light, with the perfect sweetness, and very flavorful. The staff was well-known for the variety of chocolates offered. They could tell you about the chocolate itself, where it's from, the purity, etc. If you're in Georgetown or visiting this L.A. Burdick is a must have. Don't sell yourself short, you won't find better hot chocolate.

    Dark chocolate is decadent!!

We asked our friendly waiter, and they stated the chef was from Spain, but they had schnitzel on the menu right next to lamb meatballs, and octopus. It was middle-eastern, Mediterranean, American, and anything else you could imagine. Also, amazingly, the menu was small, and, in my opinion, this is the mark of a great restaurant. Give me a menu where I want EVERYTHING on the menu. Make me regret filling up on the spectacular lamb shank and not have any room left for the 3 things I couldn't possibly try without returning. We had an amazing time. The bar is lively and, if you're dining in the "outside" portion, do not fear the cold. The patio is encapsulated in glass and the heat lamps are turbo-charged. It's difficult to stand out for amazing food in Dupont Circle, with the literally dozens of top-notch choices, and constant emergence of new possibilities. Go to Residents. You'll have zero regrets and vow to return.

Ordered the bottle of cava ($45 or $13 per glass) which was nice and dry and not at all sour/acidic. We also enjoyed the burrata dish, which came with peas, snapped peas, and green beans and strawberries. I'm used to a summer burrata salad but this was very refreshing and very nice. Loved the ambiance of the covered patio which features cherry blossoms. So cute! Service was really attentive, we loved our waitress Sarah.

The staff was incredibly welcoming, and our server was attentive without being overbearing. We weren't in the mood for anything too heavy, so we ordered two flatbreads - the prosciutto and the grilled chicken - and they honestly exceeded expectations. They're served on a thin lavash-style base, which made them feel light but still really satisfying. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. They start you off with soft bread and olive oil, which was such a nice touch. We were way too full for dessert, but definitely saving that for next time. Also, no exaggeration - one of the best espresso martinis I've had. I tried a limoncello spritz for the first time too, and I don't even like Aperol spritz, but this was completely different - light, refreshing, and really enjoyable. Honestly, it felt like such a hidden gem. I was surprised it wasn't more crowded - maybe because it was a Thursday - but it definitely deserves more attention. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

My hubby and I really enjoyed it! We arrived 20 mins early and the guy checking us in said that the tour may start early, but looking at his check in list, it seemed like it was bc almost everyone had arrived. There were 2 separate grps & only 20 ppl in ea grp. At 1st I was bummed that the 6 stops weren't places that were only choc, but it ended up being a great experience, getting a taste of other things with chocolate in it, like bread, cupcakes, caramels, and fudge, as well as chocolate bars and bon bons. We also enjoyed our guide, Linda. She was bubbly (but not sickingly), knowledgeable about the area and our stops, careful about getting us to our destination safely, and good about moving us along but not rushing us. Only complaint....1 of our stops was closed for the thanksgiving weekend. Great Food Tour should've either checked with each stop bc if the holiday, and the closed stop should've notified the tour company. We weren't made aware of the closure until near the end.
