    Mango gelato
    Karina E.

The staff was so friendly and patient with me and my sister as we decided what we wanted to order. I tried the hazelnut, mango and a few others before deciding to go with the mango gelato. It was so refreshing on a hot summer day. The flavor was bright and deep, I would def stop in again! The price was steep, but it was to be expected considering the brand and location on the wharf.

Quality gelato with unique flavors! I got the creme which is a light cream flavor with a hint of citrus along with the star anise. The star anise was really good! If you're not a fan of licorice though, maybe stay away from this one. Texture overall is great and light. Services was quick. As for seating, it's a small place so there were only three tables with some chairs outside.

    Passion fruit and cinnamon flavors

The service was very friendly and patient. We tried many flavors before deciding on passion fruit sorbet and cinnamon gelato. Both were delicious. The store was clean and very welcoming. There are tables available outside to enjoy your food. I love that a scoop gives you the option to choose two flavors.

Delicious gelato in a great location! This is my favorite place to grab a quick treat or a pint to go. The staff are all so friendly and the space is small is clean.

Wow was I in Italy or something???? This was really good gelato make sure to try my signature flavor GIANDUJA it was simply amazing! Also try the espresso Ice Cream combo that was so creative and delicious.Customer service was off the charts they were super nice and willing to help. Only feedback would be that the brownies could be a lil warmer or it might be my fault because I didn't ask them to heat it up. Regardless I think a warm brownie would an amazing addition to the ice cream!

A local gelato shop, this location is the newer end of the Wharf near Politics & Prose. It's a small shop with standing room only and a few outdoor seats. The staff are helpful and let you try as many flavors as you want. The small cup gets you two flavors v. the large which gets you three. I ordered the walnut gelato and the crema one- a winning pair!

Two of my favorite flavors! I've mentioned on another review of my love for the matcha and milk combination. The matcha and cinnamon flavored gelato scoops paired well together. There are so many flavors to choose from and we appreciated being allowed to taste flavors before deciding which to order. The employees were friendly, helpful and patient. The inside is clean and has an upscale, high quality feel. This is much more of a grown up dessert stop but kids would love the gelato too. I'd love to come back and try out other flavors

Friendly service when I got to the Wharf for a work thing. Great expresso! They have breakfast food too. Croissants and muffins.

Love their gelato! Service was great and the outside seating was cute and shady. Perfect spot for a casual summer day!

When I branch out, the other flavors are good, but this is my favorite. Service: slow AF. We pulled up last weekend and the line was out the door. Only one employee was working and she was pretty slow. It took about 25 minutes to get a couple scoops. Portions: it's very interesting how the pricing is set up between one flavor and two flavors. And what I found, is that the scoop sizes are really inconsistent. It makes sense that they would be slightly inconsistent, but I got two flavors and there was about as much ice cream in mine as there was in my friends, smaller, one flavor cup. However, when someone was asking for clarification, the employee explained that it was two scoops. Anyway, as a whole of ice cream is good and I'll keep coming back for that reason. I just want them to be staffed properly. What I don't love is that people hop in, grab ice cream from the freezer, cut the line and get checked out, while making people waiting in line wait. It's unfair and annoying, especially when you're just waiting for a couple scoops.

I always get the honeycomb ice cream with hot fudge, whipped cream, and sprinkles. It's huge and the right ratio of ingredients. Also, they don't skimp on the fudge unlike other places. Note: The fudge isn't as sweet as other shops, which I appreciate. This particular location is small. Located by other shops in Eastern Market, sometimes there's a wait. For example, we went recently on a Thursday afternoon. When we arrived, a sign on the door said they will be back in 30 minutes. When we returned, only one person was working, creating a backlog. I felt bad for her managing it all on her own. Our wait ended up being 30 minutes.

It has an avant-garde vibe and curious furniture. The space itself, curated by Japanese artist Hiroshi Sugimoto, has an appropriate contemporary theme which echoes what's on display within. For example, right now there's a Basquiat & Banksy exhibit in the building. You get the drift. The biggest change is that the dark film that once covered the tall windows in the lobby is gone; all the sunlight that now comes in is quite lovely. This spot is a unique place to drink in some atmosphere as well as sip on fab coffee. The 2 huge, half-moon glass coffee tables with pedestals of gnarly wood serve as absorbing focal points. Dolcezza is a smart vendor to be featured here; they have top drawer java, skilled baristas as well as matching prices. Sometimes it's packed, other times not. Yeah, there's a bit of a safety check to get in but no more than what's required of any world class museum.

I was able to observe the baristas making the drinks and the quality seemed inconsistent among individuals. Milk was poured heavily. I ordered the coquito and it was practically milk instead of the expected Puerto Rican eggnog. The coffee was brewed weakly, so I was dissatisfied by the lack of fragrance and caffeine. It needed more warm spices and a nutty base to justify being one of the most expensive beverages on the menu. I would not visit Dolcezza again, even though it was convenient. I would rather walk nearby for a decent cup of joe.

Also the inside of the store smelt like marijuana pretty strongly. Ice cream: 1/10 - I ordered a scoop of banana peanut butter, which was icy and lacking in flavor. The second scoop I ordered was chocolate, meant to be the actual dairy chocolate, but given it's similar iciness and lack of flavor I think I was given a dairy free scoop.
