Hate to do this... but really disappointed. We are hardcore loyalist. We love Christina, have all her cook books, did all her bake clubs, Many years ago, before I had a gluten allergy, we regularly ordered stuff for mail delivery. But this was our first time going into a store. They keep taking away gluten free items, no more cookies, truffles, chocolate cakes.... We have made countless of her items all gluten free without issue, so idk they don't offer more options. The side by side birthday cake of gluten free vs gluten is really my complaint, looks smaller, a lot less frosting in the layers... and the cake tasted dry... and having made this cake several times and ordered it and ate it over days... it was never dry like this. My non-allergy family got cereal milkshake, something we have dreamed about for years and they said it tastes really stale and salty. Wouldn't order it again. I thought it would feel more magical inside, more pink and sprinkles, lots of color but it was just plain and sad. I was also a little surprised at the location, it's an area easily missed but they do have their own parking lot which is extremely rare in DC.

Milk Bar offers a wide variety of creative sweet treats and has become an iconic dessert destination, thanks in part to celebrity chef Christina Tosi, its founder, and the shop's connection to Momofuku and David Chang. I've tried the corn cake, confetti cake, and cereal milk ice cream. The confetti cake was delicious, moist, nostalgic, and fun. The corn cake and cereal milk ice cream were good, but in my opinion, didn't quite live up to the hype. Milk Bar is definitely worth visiting at least once, especially if you're a fan of inventive desserts or culinary pop culture. That said, between the premium prices, long lines, and tough competition from other dessert spots, it likely won't become a regular stop for me.

A visit to Milk Bar for dessert on a late Wednesday night, so glad to see they're still going strong. Of course we got my favorite - a cup of cereal milk with corn flake topping. And then the decision - do I go with my typical go-to birthday cake truffle, or today's seasonal cake, a raspberry cheesecake? I decided to go with the seasonal cake just because. Deee-licious as expected. Deep, rich velvety cake with a bright fruity note. It was gone in seconds! If you haven't been to Milk Bar DC yet, what are you waiting for? Stop in and give it a try- you won't be sorry!

I've always wanted to try milk bar so I stopped in tonight. Everything just seemed dry and stale. The apple pie ice cream seemed off? It was a bizarre flavor. The "crust" was dry and stale and flavorless. Everything ice cream had a kind of metallic taste. Bummer. I wanted to like this place.

Milk Bar Pie (5/5): Dense and sweet (but not too sweet) which is the perfect combo for me. The brown sugar flavor was so simple but delicious. Birthday Cake (3/5): Very classic birthday cake flavor. Too sweet for me (and I also just don't personally like most cakes that much). I did enjoy the crumbly bits inside though. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

The presentation was 10/10 and staff were so friendly! The overall flavor was good, not great. I'd love to come back and try more from Milk bar!

I love their strawberry short cakes. It's a seasonal option so only in the summer. I usually get myself one for my birthday. This location actually has parking. It looks blocked but it's not. They have a corn cookie that is surprisingly good. The ambiance was so cute a bubbly! Pink and lots of baking decor. Service - they were extremely helpful. I ordered a cake online and it wasn't delivered in time so they were able to get me the cake I needed. The birthday cake is pretty sweet. I've had the 6" and the 10" cakes. The 10" cake is pretty big. There are a few layers in the cakes as well. I usually get the 6" so that there isn't much left over. I can't be a big back and eat it alone lol.

Sooooo upfront... I'm a gluten free reviewer, that holds my five star reviews like a toddler with a Cheerio... they are hard to pry out of my gummy fingers!!! So.... Understand that it takes a perfect mix, every time for me to give up the 5... soooo a 4 from me is high praise. I have been to Milk Bar many times because they are one of the most consistent sources of a gluten-free dessert option, or actually three to be exact. For all intents and purposes, Milk Bar and its employees have only let me down (a lil) once and they doubled down to make up for it... so in my book, they are a golden ticket. It would be lovely if the location had just a touch more space to host parties but they cater so now I'm just being picky as that aforementioned toddler LOL

I walked to Milk Bar today to try the Thanksgiving croissant and was pleasantly surprised by the great sweet and savory blend of a turkey-like stuffing with cranberry in a croissant. It tasted nostalgic like Thanksgiving and was rather filling despite its small appearance. The service was great, as I was handed complimentary cookies. The total was about $11.

I was hesitant to come here after reading the recent reviews, but we had a great experience! The atmosphere is cool - seems like lots of space to hang out (didn't stay because it was late). As for the ice cream, I'd never been here before, and it's definitely unique. I just wish they had a little more variety of options (they had 4 milk shake options - cereal milk, bday, chocolate bday, and seasonal), but they do have a curated menu - so if you're not picky and want a unique tasting experience, this is a fun spot. The service was great - she gave us samples of the ice creams to help us decide. We got the bday shake and then made our own concoction of cereal milk ice cream with chocolate and red velvet cheesecake truffles...SO GOOD, literally omg that should go on the menu!

Pros: Got a bundle with a slice of pie, some cake pops, and some cookies. I love the option for the variety. The pie was the best thing, by far. So smooth and rich and Southern. Nice, soft cookies, too. Not too crispy. Cons: The service was very poor. The very few employees they did have were very aloof and didn't seem to be in a rush to get through the line that was out the door. Tips: Pre order your stuff. If you don't they'll run out of the items you want. If you're choosing between cookies, get the Compost! It was the best.

I love Milk Bar. Wish there were more locations, but it's worth the drive. I don't get it often, but when I do I remember how delicious it is. Something about the cereal milk and the cereal crumbs is just so good! It's the kid in me that loves it so much.

Buttery, flaky, crispy, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The typical chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. Anyway, she went through explaining various pastries and had a couple Turkish ones as well. I went with a pistachio baklava and a slice of honey cake. Honestly, I wanted to try all the cakes and even though they say honey cake is their most popular, there were a few that looked more appetizing. However, slightly convinced by the one other customer there eating her slice of honey cake, I decided to try it. I've only had honey cake once before so I won't act like I know what's best but that time the layers were thinner which I prefer but I like how it wasn't overly sweet despite it being honey forward.
