Like any other asian bakery expensive, sweet, and light. If you have a sweet tooth this is for you! Their donuts were filled to the brim and the cream was so light fluffy and flavorful!! Service is friendly but it's more like you browse and pick up what you want. The store's pretty small so there isn't too much seating but there's some outside and also Uwajimaya is very close by!

This is the only place/cafe in DC where I go every time I'm in the area. I'm not a big fan of the area surrounding it, but it is very accessible if you're visiting museums etc. It reminds me of my time in Korea. I like their matcha, and desserts include the custard and cream cheese breads. The ube latte was okay (just ube syrup with milk - so not worth the $ imo)

Inside Luna Food Hall in Chinatown. Lots of fresh pastries and cakes. We ordered 4*Kimchi Croquette: fried golden, tasted great. 4.5*Cheese Lake Mini: not overly sweet, subtle and mild, very good.

If you are a big fan of Korean Bakery items, check out this location. For a bakery, the place opens a bit late (11am, I believe). The location has other food options, a bar, and hang out place with comfy chair!

Inside of Luna Food Hall in Chinatown. Easy to miss if you're just walking around the area, signage for the food hall isn't huge. Once inside, you run straight into the bakery. They have a good assortment of pastries with a few varieties I hadn't seen in other locations. We got the Ube cream, the strawberry cream, lemon slice and red bean. All were delicious. The ube and strawberry cream ones were especially good...light, airy and the perfect amount of sweetness.

The dessert was delicious and so was the great quality of the tea that they use. I would be coming back here again. Thank you to the guy at the counter who help make my friend birthday special.

Love this as an affordable and acessible option for Asian style desserts. The flakey pastries may not be super crispy but pull on familiar and expirmental flavors in east asian bakery similar to Paris Baguette and 85 Degree chains alike. To have that option in DC and view the cake showcase and take a cake bag home is so cutesy. After trying the dessert, we found the cream to run a little chemically with the cake dry and lacking flavor. The cakes don't seem to be made to order or baked fresh. And after being in a long showcase all day, it takes on the flavor of the fridge it was in.

This was in the wall!! Cute!!

Good desserts. Interesting atmosphere. Had the chocolate cake and macarons. The macarons were 7/10. Enough to come back! Enjoyed our late night treat!!

Inside Luna Hall inside Chinatown is a Tous Les Jours! It's quite a bit smaller than a free standing TLJ but still had a decent variety of pastries available. We picked out a flat croissant to try and it was crispy and the lightly sweet taste reminded me of a palmier which I liked!

In Luna food hall, decent selection as pictured. They do have cakes and some of the packaged goods they sell. Very neat and organized No labeled place to return your trays so I just left on a big counter by the bar. Workers seemed kinda shy that day I did enjoy the treats though big fan of this business

I was super excited that TLJ opened in metropolitan DC area (finally!!!) and I went to Luna Hall to try it out today. They're probably sold out for a lot of items when I arrived at 6ish and there's no more TLJ puddings available. I tried their green tea cake which still seems a little frozen but tasty. I appreciate that their desserts aren't too sweet. I chatted with the staff and they told me that this opened 2-3 months ago. Would love to be back here to try out other stalls as well.

Yes yes and yes. We came here to get some fun treats to take back to some new friends while visiting the area. Walking in, I knew we picked well. There were so many options and not all typical! We tried the strawberry cake, orange cake, chocolate cake, earl grey macarons, salted caramel macaron and sponge cake. OMG. Everything was amazing. The strawberry cake was so light and fluffy but flavorful. The orange cake was a dream! Wish we tried the chocolate but we gave those away as gifts. Macarons were super flavorful which is awesome because I often find them boring. If we lived here, we would have a hard time going somewhere else. The prices are similar to home and we thought they'd cost way more. Super reasonable. Our cashier was quick and super sweet. Very cute place.

I've been to this location a couple of times, and staff are consistently friendly and efficient. I enjoyed the sweet potato mousse cake, cloud cake and chocolate cloud cake. This location does not offer bread loaves yet, but it will in about a month or so (I believe the staff member mentioned something about getting an oven installed by then). Glad that there is a TLJ location in DC now!

That's when I stumbled onto Sharbat. It's a rather quaint and cute Azerbaijani bakery and as I was window shopping all the cakes and baklavas, someone across the counter says "let me know if you have any questions" and I look up to see an angelic beautiful woman (this does not affect my rating haha) but I guess I wasn't expecting to see that. Anyway, she went through explaining various pastries and had a couple Turkish ones as well. I went with a pistachio baklava and a slice of honey cake. Honestly, I wanted to try all the cakes and even though they say honey cake is their most popular, there were a few that looked more appetizing. However, slightly convinced by the one other customer there eating her slice of honey cake, I decided to try it. I've only had honey cake once before so I won't act like I know what's best but that time the layers were thinner which I prefer but I like how it wasn't overly sweet despite it being honey forward. The baklava was one of the best, but I probably say that about most baklavas.

But still I shunned the baklava, my friends' favorite but at the very top of my list of pastries I could do without. I find it papery and drenched in syrup - way too sweet! But now I suggest that Sharbat is a bakery for people who think they don't like baklava. My friends finally persuaded me to try some, and oh man is it good. It's nothing like the baklava I know. Perhaps because it is made Azerbaijani style - at the eastern end of Turkish culinary reach. It is more cakey and less sweet. But still plenty sweet, with a nice nutty crunch. I don't know whether to kiss or curse my friends for turning me on to this, but now I know. And now so do you.

To say, I am disappointed in my experience here is an understatement. I don't normally write review, however, I want to warn others before they waste their money. I went with a friend to support local businesses. We were excited because the reviews were pretty solid. However, once we ordered, we were greatly disappointed. I ordered a Matcha Latte and the servers simply poured milk into a dirty worn out cafeteria plastic cup and dumped matcha powder in it without stirring or blending or adding any flavor. The picture shown below is after I mixed the powder into the milk more. My friend ordered a caramel frappe (not pictured) and the drink lacked caramel. It was simply blended milk and ice. The making of our drinks did not reflect a "cafe" style nor experience. Moreover, the food was below lackluster. The Northern Capital sandwich looked amazing in theory; however, I received one small piece of chicken on a large hoagie roll drenched in mayo with 3 pieces of spinach and a slice of avocado. In my opinion, the portions definitely did not match the price of the sandwich. Furthermore, my friend ordered the Steak & Cheese which came without cheese. After this, my friend and I did not drink the Latte and Frappe. We ate a small portion of the sandwiches to give the restaurant a fair chance, but we were beyond disgusted with the drinks. Therefore, we asked for a refund or the server to re-make them. To which the server laughed in our face with a nasty attitude replying, "Absolutely not!" I absolutely hate to leave a 1-star review on a local restaurant, but I could not go on without warning others to avoid the "cafe" portion of this place if you value your money. Fortunately, we went to a local restaurant nearby afterward to cleanse our palette and thoroughly enjoyed the service and food. More importantly, the prices were comparable to this place but they provided much larger portions and great service.

No Thank you Apple…read morepie- dry, gooey and overly sweet filling that did not look hand made. The crumble top was terribly underdone with dry oats and no texture whatsoever to help save the filling at all. Crust was doughy and under cooked. Warming it would not have even helped at all. Brownie pie- I was so disappointed. I do not usually go for brownies, but the way the top of the pie looked pretty well baked I went for it super excitedly on first glance. Instant regret on the first bite. All I tasted was an overwhelming sweetness overload and then a shock of salt instead of balance. The worst part was, the center of the pie was all goop and the caramel infused into it almost made it worse. I hated the texture and I am not usually a texture person. I was super disappointed. I ate three bites, and it went to the trash. I was expecting at least a soft chewy brownie baked into pie crust, similar to a brownie cookie. Big let down. The pumpkin pie- had a weird sour after taste to it like the wrong type of milk was used when baking it. I wanted to love this one so badly, but got half way done eating it and just could not. This was very unfortunate, because the filling structure was perfect, but the filling itself was bland and sour. The crust was once again doughy and undercooked. No brown golden crust in sight. The pies were given to the 909 apartments on 11/25/25 as a way to celebrate Pie day. I really appreciate the small business effort. I love supporting them too. Honestly though, I am so glad those pie slices were free, because unfortunately, I would not waste my money buying from them unless they make some huge changes. All the crusts were undercooked and doughy, and I did not finish any of the pies entirely. I would add pictures but I was so disappointed, I did not bother taking any, and I am a foodie, so I usually take pictures of all my food dishes. Please I mean no harm. I am just giving my honest constructive feedback. I will see if I can add a google review with pictures. I visited on a Sunday night around 8 PM and there was a small line, going out the door by a few people. It moved quickly enough. I like the shop decor a lot, with clean lines, large windows, and a few seats. I had a large ($10ish) with three scoops: Hazelnut Crackle (like ferrero rocher), Black and White Cookie Batter, Vietnamese Cinnamon. These all worked pretty well together. The star was the Hazelnut, which did taste exactly like ferrero, which meant it was delicious. I found the cinnamon a bit to punchy on its own (like Red Hots, which I don't like), but it mellowed out when eaten with the other flavors. The Black and White Cookie did taste like one, but that also meant it was not as strong as flavor as the other two.
